Heard my friend raving about NOODLE WORLD, and couldn't help but wonder why I haven't dined here for over 20 years when I live just minutes away. After hearing my friend rave about it day in and out, I finally gave in and decided to grab dinner with him at Noodle World one night. Walked in at 930pm one evening and the cashier made no attempt to greet me or to seat me. I stood around for a couple more minutes and waited for my friend and had to walk up to the cashier to ask for a seat. Our server was courteous and placed our order on that huge ipad chained to his waist. Both of us decided to go with the SPICY SPAGHETTI for the evening. From my memories from decades ago, the Spicy Spaghetti was the best dish offered at this restaurant. I remembered it to by dry, stirred fried with basil and have a tint of spice to it. But what we got was a huge plate of spaghetti drenched in some thick red sauce. It was fairly disgusting and I barely touched my plate. This visit is probably just proofed to me why I stopped dining here 20 years ago: They have a large selection of food - noodles, they don't specialize in anything and everything is mediocre at this restaurant. read more

I've been coming to Noodle World for years and the price is affordable. This weekend I decided to order for curbside pick up. Curbside pickup service- I placed my order and gave them a call when I got to the curbside location. Lady came out with a credit card system and repeated my order and processed payment. She than went back in to get my order and receipt. Everything was smooth from the time I placed my order to picking up. Pre-Covid- Indoor dining service is ok. Most times, the waiters are too busy to check up on you. You have to actually flag them down and even then, there's a chance that they've already got a list of other customer's requests to deal with first. There is plenty of parking now but pre-covid.. the parking can be a pain. You will probably have to drive around the block a few times during peak hours. Food- I ordered Garlic Chicken, Charbroiled Pork Chop, Beef Steak, Pad Thai (comes with chicken & shrimp and you don't need to pay extra for the shrimp), and Thai Boat Noodles. These are my go to dishes and they were all good. They give a pretty good portion size that can easily be shared. I also love the spicy spaghetti, Rad Na, Crispy Beef Chow Mein and Beef Pad See Ew. They also have a variety of drinks. Noodle world is my go to when I can't think of anything to eat. Definitely give them a try. read more

Quality has gone down the drain. Recently got takeout and the crispy noodles were bland. Pad Thai was mushy and bland. I had to add soy and msg at home just to make it good. Wonton soup was too salty. Lame. It used to be my go to but it's just not that good anymore. read more

Thus dish used to have other flavors such as garlic and looked much more appealing than what I got. I ordered pork with my Pad see you and the pork pieces looked n tasted funny. The entire dish was black in color from being drown in soy sauce. The little portion of veggies in the dish were bitter and also tasted funny like dish water taste. My mom's Seafood Tom Yum had a 3 inch layered of msg floating on the bottom of her broth. The cook didn't mix the msg all the way through in the broth. Service is awful. Waited with our child about 40 minutes, with the place half empty. The guy at the register didn't give 2 flying f.... Called the same number 3 times in 25 minutes. Ended up walk out after telling us, after 40minute wait, 5/10 minutes of more waiting. Whenever our family is craving fried rice. There is only one place to go. Noodle World. Particularly, this location always delivers when it comes to service and taste! It's in Alhambra, so if you are in the area. This is the spot. We ordered the Garlic Spare Ribs at this location specifically because they always give the best pieces. The Hainam Chicken was on a whim. The description of the dish is what locked us in. Battered and deep fried chicken! You can't go wrong! The Shrimp Fried Rice dish was delicious. Been coming here since I was a little girl, and it is still just as good. Parking could be challenging when you're coming at a busy time. I don't think I had ever waited more than 25 minutes to be seated. The staff is friendly and quick to take your order and bring out the food. Portions are great for the prices too. They're doing outside dining and takeout and curbside pickup. Plexiglass divider between the person manning the register and the customer. I called in my order, was told it would take 20 min, took me 16 min to get there, and while I had to wait in a short line, my order was already ready when I got there. I ordered a taro smoothie boba without having ordered it beforehand and it only took about less than five extra minutes of waiting before getting the boba. The food was really good! The portions are also HUGE. The fried rice had a lot in it--not just pineapple, but chicken, shrimp, cashews, and a huge pineapple slice. It was good. The Thai leaf chicken was good too: ground chicken, a runny egg, and white rice. I think I liked the chicken dish better because it was refreshing and unique; whereas the fried rice was good but probably, in my opinion not their star dish. There was what looked like an old bob's big boy statue, on each end of the restaurant, which was super confusing. The menu was a bit confusing as well, as they had yaki soba but also pad see ew. I couldn't pinpoint what their specialty was, but was content with the theory that I settled on, which was that "noodles" was their theme. Noodleworld is a great place with a huge variety of food and with large portions. Dishes here average around 10 dollars per dish but a dish can easily feed 2-3 people. Even dishes that are meant for single serve, such as Pho, are huge. Service is good and the dishes come out quickly. This place is great for accommodating groups since the portion size is big and also the restaurant is pretty big as well. My favorites of this place are: Noodle World Spaghetti, Shrimp Fried Rice, and Thai Boat Noodles. This place is also good for take out. I recommend calling them for take it so you can get your food when you get there. Dinner time is extremely busy so if you want to skip the wait, I would call for to go and pick up. The food doesn't taste good like I used to eat there and the amount not as much as before, but the price got more expensive. We couldn't finished the food because lacked of seasoning. I might not go back to this place anymore. The server Yim has bad attitude, but when it comes to payment, she keeps asking if I already put the tip. To me, that's so rude. I usually give tip 15% because of the waitress so nice, but for her I only gave less than 10%. Actually, she deserves 0% tip. The wait times are long, parking is horrible, and the restaurant isn't exactly the CLEANEST place. Food: Food is very tasty. They have noodle dishes from around the world and they even have rice dishes as well. I highly recommend getting the beef with rice because it's super tasty and they give you a lot for the price. Pad see ew is definitely another dish I recommend. Service: Service is pretty bad. Everyone's always in a bad mood and they aren't really attentive. Most of the waiters and waitresses hide in the back near the kitchen so you have to flag them down if you need anything. Overall, the only thing saving this from a low-rated review is the food. So if you don't know if you're craving Thai, Ramen, Pho, Spaghetti, Chow Mein, etc. you'll find all the choices of the world here! This store is actually really big compared to the other Noodle Worlds and probably the most popular and tasty out of the other ones as well. I ordered the Spicy Spaghetti which they now changed the name to Srirchagetti (???) but it's the same thing. I tried to get them to make it more spicy for me, which didn't really help so I ended up putting chili and jalapenos in mine to make it more spicy. It made it super good and definitely one of my favorite dishes here. The sauce is more on the sweeter side than spicy. But hey, you'll definitely love it when you get it! For $10, the serving size is HUGE. I probably can eat 3-4 different lunches with this amount of food. It's definitely worth it!! I believe all their food contains huge serving sizes so it's definitely shareable with others. One thing that I didn't like about this place is their service. They really suck...even though I know Asian places don't have decent service but the people are kinda rude. When I was ordering to go, the lady that was taking my order really confused me when I was paying... she asked "you'll remember your order right??" and I'm like "huh??". I think it's because she didn't give me a receipt so she's asking whether or not I'll remember my order when they bring it out which confuses me because I only ordered 1 thing...They also forgot about my coworker's food and we were waiting there forever until we had to ask them about it. Noodle World used to be our old standby restaurant for late evening dining. We probably dined here 2-3 times per month, along with the rest of the San Gabriel Valley residents. It was a common sight to see a people waiting in line for a table as late as midnight 7 days a week. Then COVID came and everything changed. When the moratorium on inside dining ended, Noodle World reopened with shorter hours (closing at 9 pm) and a significantly reduced wait staff. In the few times we have eaten at Noodle World since COVID, the food quality has gone downhill as well. Prior to COVID, the food was passably good. Now it's just plain bad. Thai Pan Fried used to be a really good dish here. But when I ordered it back on Sept 9, 2022, the chicken was fully of unchewable tendons and bones. It's supposed to be boneless. Apparently, the cook didn't care enough to carefully prepare the chicken properly. To make it worse, on the way out from the restaurant to the parking lot, I saw an interior window sill with a several day accumulation of dead flies. It was a sure sign that they don't clean the restaurant. Yuck. read more

The food is decent though, and the portions are generous for their price. I don't think I've ever finished a dish in 1 sitting by myself. I'm either sharing or taking home leftovers. I usually stuck to a few favorite dishes like the spicy spaghetti, the rad nah, the beef steak, or the crispy chow mein, but it looks like their menu was trimmed down! You can literally order any type of noodle, rice nooderssss, egg noodersss, fried, deep fried, anyway you want them they can do it. I've eaten here plenty of times my go to is their spicy spaghettis, hubs loves it when they add extra basil and extra mush in it, second favorite is their seafood chow mein (fried egg nooderrrss) with gravy. The spicy pan fried noodles brings back my old high school memories when the Noodle World in Old Pasadena used to be me & my friends old stomping grounds. The spicy pan fried noodles comes with a spicy kick, heaping portions of flat noodles, beef, and a variety of veggies. I was delighted to find out that they still offered this dish here and that the portions were still big and prices are affordable. Noodles! YUM This place has a very extensive menu of lots of noodles, it also has some rice dishes. Their dessert menu has lots of boba drinks, kinda reminds me of what happened to that kid in asia that had surgery due to impacted bowels because he had at least two or more of these drinks and brainiac did not chew the stuff, I know, a future politician. We ordered the Papaya Salad, a house noodle soup and opted for egg noodles and a crispy beef noodles. The papaya salad was huge and they use a very pungent but oh so good fish sauce. The house noodle soup will never be ordered again, because they use chicken breast meat, this white tasteless cardboard should only be relegated to landfill material. The crispy beef noodles had other customers coming by and saying "wow", it was ginormous and real good. It could have used a bit more gravy, but you did get a huge serving. This was a very good dish. A quick tip, be prepared to be impressed by the good comfort food and huge portions. It's really not a 4 star rating, but more of a 3.5, but definitely not a low 3 star rating. read more
