However, they're best known for their Bun Bo Hue, Vietnamese Spicy Beef Noodle Soup (quite different from Taiwanese beef noodle soup by the way)! Most of us ordered that. It comes with fresh veggies and herbs that you put into your hot soup. The thick rice noodles were bouncy and the beef shank slices were tender. The broth was flavorful and they were able to accommodate my request for less spice. I do wonder if veggie refills are free but I didn't get a chance to ask. Normally I like lots of veggies. This place it doesn't matter if you gatekeep because they will have enough soup / noodle readily available and shouldn't be a long line because its really in and out. I tend to eat on the slow side but this sizeable bowl was slurped down quickstyles. They are know for their Bún Bò Huế. So had to give them a try. Honestly I haven't had the delicious red soup in a while but its probably the best I ever had. Service is great foods delicious and the ambiance typical mom and pop spot, feels like an asian household which is also warming inside. Clean also I always like to add. Parking on street and the backside. This yummy soup so tasty but overwhelming with salt. has levels of flavor and obviously cooked for hours on end. Alot of meat also. My wife got the pho and also bomb diggity, there was spots of yellow floating on the soup which meant.... flavor. Heard this spot special item is their Bún Bò Huế. So had to give them a try. Finding a spot to park here can be a bit of a challenge. This place only has a few parking spaces in the back. And one parking space right in front of the restaurant. The ambiance is ok, nothing too fancy. We were seated right away. Menu were not extensive but the items they have are pretty decent. We ordered the #10 Bún Bò Huế (Hue Spicy Beef Noodle Soup) and the #18 Com Bò Xào Đặc Biệt (Nha Trang Beef Combination with Steam Rice). The Bún Bò Huế is one of the best I had in a long time. It's been a while since I had such a great Bún Bò Huế. I'm glad I found this place. The Com Bò Xào Đặc Biệt was not too bad either. It was very tasty. This might be the best bun bo hue in area! The restaurant is a no-frills, straight to the point establishment that prefers to take cash but will accept card (no AMEX though). It smelled like cleaning products when we went on a cold winter evening. A placemat advertising Sweet James was laid out and I knew the food was going to be excellent. The most popular dish is the bun bo hue (#10) so I recommend ordering this as a first timer. The herbs came out sparkling clean and fresh. Not a wilted leaf in sight. The bowl of soup is a decent size, with lots of deep red colored broth. The broth has so much depth without being too heavy and was not too spicy. The fixings in this soup are classic - pork hock + blood cubes means they are doing it right. The noodles were a good texture, and there were plenty of them! I left very satisfied. We also ordered the nem nuong spring rolls and I usually don't like nem nuong rolls but these were so well balanced and again, the herbs in the roll were so fresh that I ate one to myself. Thick bun noodles, savory soup full of aromatics, with lots of meat slices and pork blood. It also normally comes with a pig foot but I asked for it without. Don't get turned off by the blood chunks, as it's not gamey/smelly at all here and is cleaned super well! Pho ($16)-- I think it's the best pho in the area!! Savory, full of flavor, not too oily, with lots of meat and comes with beef balls too! I think they give way more meat compared to other pho places around here. Egg rolls ($16)-- Pork and crab egg rolls!!! They do NOT skimp on the crab and you definitely taste it! There's a lady rolling them fresh in the store (she was sitting at a booth near the front) so you know it's legit! This is my favorite restaurant for egg rolls and I've ordered egg roll party trays from them before. Spring rolls ($7)-- VERY SAD. So sad. It's 90% lettuce, 1 fried stick, and the skinniest piece of nem nuong. No mint, no basil, no herbs, no vermicelli .... It's just so plain and sad. Service is typical for SGV where you have to raise your hand to request what you need. They're generous with veggies here and it's always super fresh. I am so glad I stumbled upon this place. This is now my favorite bún bò Huế spot in the 626. The interior was pretty clean and spacious. The workers were really friendly and attentive, and they always checked on us to make sure everything was good. The bún bò Huế was really flavorful, and the meat was very soft, which I really liked because the meat in bún bò Huế at other places is usually chewy and sometimes tough. The egg rolls were also really good--they came out hot and crispy and had a lot of flavor. I would definitely recommend these two dishes if you're going to try this place out. read more

Came for a midweek lunch - parking is a bit funky with a weirdly planned parking lot in the back - be conscious about which area you park as you could get blocked in by another car fairly easily. I always get the extra ginger on the side to elevate my pho ga. SO good. Feels healthy with just the right amount of umami oil flavor to round out the "too healthy" allegations. I saw a IG reel about this place, so a few friends and I flew down to LA for a day trip to try this place out and of course to explore LA! The bun bo hue here was amazing! My friend even commented on how they could see the bottom of my bowl and asked if I need to order another! Their BBH isn't very spicy, but they give you chili oil in a little to-go cup. The extra chili oil really gave it an extra kick that it needed! There was also a ton of meat in the bowl also. It was a little disappointing that the pig knuckle was really thinly sliced. I was able to finish the knuckle in two bites. The two pieces of blood jelly had a nice bounce to it. Bun Bo Hue supremacy ... and I STAND BY THIS. This place is a hole in the wall but a gem once discovered. My friend recommended me Nga Trang since I have been in search of the best BBH spot in 626... and this is forsure one of the top BBH spots I've tried here. The portion size is HUGE -- I brought home so much leftovers & it was still as tasty for lunch the day after :-) The bun bo hue broth was rich + spicy.. packed with flavor and there was a generous amount of protein in the bowl. The only thing I wish they had was shredded banana blossoms as a side/ top to put on the BBH. Adding banana blossoms is my favorite part of BBH so I'm adding this to my review as a suggestion to the restaurant :-) Service is also super quick. The owner clearly has a love for plants--there are some impressive ones around the restaurant--and even the gardening channel was playing on the TV, which was a charming touch. We visited on a Saturday evening, and it wasn't too crowded. We tried one of their weekend specials, the Vietnamese Turmeric Noodles, along with the shrimp spring rolls. The spring rolls were excellent--fresh, flavorful, and generous portions. The house special had a tomato-based broth, leaning slightly on the sweeter side. This is our number one spot for Nem Cuốn. Our son likes the pork. We always get it here! They close early! Plan accordingly and it is recommended that you call ahead to order. They sell out of the Nem Cuốn. I went here recently approximately 30 minutes before closing and they only had one pork summer roll. Much to my chagrin, I had to go across the street to BMC for more pork Nem Cuốn for our son. We tried both Nem Cuốn and it was unquestionably better here than BMC. This spot serves some of the most authentic Vietnamese crab soup I've had outside of Vietnam. The broth is rich and full of flavor, the kind that reminds you of homemade meals. The banh canh noodles have the perfect texture, and the crab is fresh and satisfying. It does get packed during brunch hours, so expect a wait if you come at peak times. I've driven by this place multiple times but never knew what it was. Until my wife craved some Pho thats when I discovered this spot. I got the Vietnamese beef noodle soup which is pretty basic item on any Vietnamese restaurant. It was good and they gave plenty of meats. We also got the egg rolls which were tasty. The goi cuon (shrimp spring rolls) are made with a crispy roll inside which isn't great when you're taking to-go or can't really eat crunchy things. Overall I think their spring rolls could use some work, maybe use different herb like Vietnamese coriander, ngo gai (also known as culantro) would def make a big difference. I came here for the first time on Saturday 5/25/2024, at around 10:40 AM for an early lunch (and to beat the lunch rush!) since this place got so packed! We ordered: Bun Bo Hue (Hue Spicy Beef Noodle Soup) - $15 each (price as of May 2024) - BBH is a Vietnamese rice noodle dish with sliced beef, meatballs, blood cubes, and thicker rice noodles.- SooOoOo yummy. This place is known for its BBH, and I can see why! -The soup was so flavorful, not bland at all, and had a lemongrass and shrimp paste taste. I loved how they also provided extra satay sauces (if you ask!), which can kick the flavor up a notch. -The portion is so big and generous! They are not sheisty with the soup. I ate as much as possible, and since my husband left some soup, we combined it to take home and ate it for another meal! -My husband is a huge bbh lover, and he approved, so that's telling. This restaurant has the best bbh I've tasted. Seating: The restaurant only offers indoor seating (I believe). Since the shop isn't too big, you may have to wait if you come right at lunch or dinner. Customer Service: They were warm and welcoming. We had a party of around 13 people, and since we came early, we could reserve and sit at the back with the tables next to each other. Everyone was so nice, from the person who took our order to the other employee who brought the noodle dishes! The workers and owner knew my sister-in-law, who frequented Nha Trang often, so that was a plus. Tip: They offer stamp cards! It's so cool to have a Vietnamese restaurant offer that! We stopped by Nha Trang for a late lunch after the Lunar New Year festival this weekend. I ordered the bun bo xao while my partner got the beef pho. Both came in gigantic bowls! The pho broth was incredibly flavorful, and my vermicelli bowl was light and fresh with yummy beef! Service was quick, and price was more than reasonable given the huge portions.
