    Nice tropical interior

Swift service family owned I thought it was okay. Came to Che k this spot out as my cousin said it was the best BBH. I think I've had much more earthy broth elsewhere. I love veggies with BBH but noticed they only have a few mint and cabbage. Staff were still amazing and really nice ambiance. Almost if you were transported to a very nice tropical spot in Vietnam

This might be the best bun bo hue in area! The restaurant is a no-frills, straight to the point establishment that prefers to take cash but will accept card (no AMEX though). It smelled like cleaning products when we went on a cold winter evening. A placemat advertising Sweet James was laid out and I knew the food was going to be excellent. The most popular dish is the bun bo hue (#10) so I recommend ordering this as a first timer. The herbs came out sparkling clean and fresh. Not a wilted leaf in sight. The bowl of soup is a decent size, with lots of deep red colored broth. The broth has so much depth without being too heavy and was not too spicy. The fixings in this soup are classic - pork hock + blood cubes means they are doing it right. The noodles were a good texture, and there were plenty of them! I left very satisfied. We also ordered the nem nuong spring rolls and I usually don't like nem nuong rolls but these were so well balanced and again, the herbs in the roll were so fresh that I ate one to myself. Highly recommend getting any of their spring rolls as well. They do an excellent job. Parking is available in a small lot inside or street is plentiful.

Nha Trang was highly recommended for Bun Bo Hue. If I were to be honest, it was good but I was expecting more based on reviews. Soup was a bit bland. Heavier on the shrimp paste but I don't recall having any pork hock in there. Not too heavy lemongrass flavor. I did ask for extra sate which helped but still needed more spice so I asked for Thai chilis. I do like that they give lots of fresh herbs and veggies.

This cold weather calls for hot soup and Nha Trang really hits the spot!!! The pho and bun bo hue are both super good and savory, just in completely different styles. The egg rolls are amazing just DO NOT GET THE SPRING ROLLS. The spring rolls are so sad and lackluster. Don't get them. DON'T!! Bun Bo Hue ($16)-- the ONLY place I trust with my bun Bo hue!! Thick bun noodles, savory soup full of aromatics, with lots of meat slices and pork blood. It also normally comes with a pig foot but I asked for it without. Don't get turned off by the blood chunks, as it's not gamey/smelly at all here and is cleaned super well! Pho ($16)-- I think it's the best pho in the area!! Savory, full of flavor, not too oily, with lots of meat and comes with beef balls too! I think they give way more meat compared to other pho places around here. Egg rolls ($16)-- Pork and crab egg rolls!!! They do NOT skimp on the crab and you definitely taste it! There's a lady rolling them fresh in the store (she was sitting at a booth near the front) so you know it's legit! This is my favorite restaurant for egg rolls and I've ordered egg roll party trays from them before. Spring rolls ($7)-- VERY SAD. So sad. It's 90% lettuce, 1 fried stick, and the skinniest piece of nem nuong. No mint, no basil, no herbs, no vermicelli .... It's just so plain and sad. Service is typical for SGV where you have to raise your hand to request what you need. They're generous with veggies here and it's always super fresh. There's a tiny parking lot in the back (~4 spots) so you'll have to find street parking if there's no space. They have a stamp card too so request one if they don't hand you one!

Mom and pop Vietnamese spot with quick service and casual vibes - and Vietnamese soup that isn't called pho! Came for a midweek lunch - parking is a bit funky with a weirdly planned parking lot in the back - be conscious about which area you park as you could get blocked in by another car fairly easily. Would recommend parking on the street if possible. Got seated - ordered the bún bò huế along with some fried egg rolls. Egg rolls were spot on, but the main show didn't disappoint. The soup was rich and filling - with a nice kick to it. Would def come back when I'm around the area again.

My family and I have been dining here for more than 7 years now! Their Bun Bo Hue never disappoints! Comes with a lot of meats and very flavorful and spicy broth! I love the thick noodles! Food comes out quick and servers are super friendly! Their Passion Fruit Iced Tea is amazing! Super worth the price and free refills as well. It's not too sweet and very refreshing! They have a small parking lot in the back, but it's very tight. Thus, I highly recommend finding street parking! Very spacious and clean inside! Outdoor seating is also available.

Whenever I'm craving bun bo hue, Nah Trang will be my go-to now! I was never a huge fan of this dish until my friend brought me here, saying they were known for their bun bo hue, and it certainly did not disappoint! The ben cuon was also delicious, but I was surprised to see there were noodles inside. Not a complaint, just something I wasn't used to. The restaurant and service was also alright, nothing special, but nothing to complain about. I heard it can get crowded, but when I went, there was no wait and plenty of extra seating.

I saw a IG reel about this place, so a few friends and I flew down to LA for a day trip to try this place out and of course to explore LA! The bun bo hue here was amazing! My friend even commented on how they could see the bottom of my bowl and asked if I need to order another! Their BBH isn't very spicy, but they give you chili oil in a little to-go cup. The extra chili oil really gave it an extra kick that it needed! There was also a ton of meat in the bowl also. It was a little disappointing that the pig knuckle was really thinly sliced. I was able to finish the knuckle in two bites. The two pieces of blood jelly had a nice bounce to it. I'm not totally sure if there is a parking lot because I just parked on the street out front of the store.

One of my favorite Cozy little authentic Vietnamese food joint! Bun Bo hue and bun Bo xao here are my highly recommended ones! Always fill me up and satisfying homestyle cooking dishes. They are quick and friendly at all times. You will not be disappointed, especially when it's cold and you want a bowl of noodles in its rich flavor hot broth.

Definitely whole in the wall spot that has a very specialized menu. I always appreciate when a restaurant tries to focus on a select number of dishes and really perfect them. I'm a sucker for a good savory broth and it's so hard to find a good BBH. Nha tran's bun bo hue is delicious, portion is good, and broth was flavorful. I also tried their nem nuon cuon, but would probably pass on it, wasn't a big fan of their nem or the peanut sauce it came with.

The pho is as good as before. I was there for Sunday's lunch and the place was packed. I ordered #10 and the egg rolls. The soup is tasty and flavorful. The egg rolls are crispy and tasty. The service we received are good and polite.

Bun Bo Hue supremacy ... and I STAND BY THIS. This place is a hole in the wall but a gem once discovered. My friend recommended me Nga Trang since I have been in search of the best BBH spot in 626... and this is forsure one of the top BBH spots I've tried here. The portion size is HUGE -- I brought home so much leftovers & it was still as tasty for lunch the day after :-) The bun bo hue broth was rich + spicy.. packed with flavor and there was a generous amount of protein in the bowl. The only thing I wish they had was shredded banana blossoms as a side/ top to put on the BBH. Adding banana blossoms is my favorite part of BBH so I'm adding this to my review as a suggestion to the restaurant :-) Service is also super quick. I will definitely come back soon whenever I crave BBH (which is literally all the time heheh)

Their Vietnamese iced coffee is SOOo good. Rich n creamy, chocolatey, hint of cinnamon rocket fuel.

The vermicelli with nem nuong and egg rolls comes with a slab of meat and a whole egg roll. The bottom are the noodles and mix of veggie and herbs. The nem nuong is sweetened charbroiled pork that is grilled. Think of a sweet meat ball. The egg rolls are super crispy and filled with meat. The noodles go well with the fish sauce and there are a lot of veggies inside. The nem nuong coun is a spring roll that's wrapped in rice paper. It has the meat and lettuce wrapped inside and comes with a dipping sauce. I believe the sauce is made with ground shrimp. For $8 for 3 rolls it is a steal compared to other restaurants. Got the Special Beef Combo Noodle ($14.50) and it consisted of eye round steak, well done flank, brisket, tendon, tripe, and beef ball. The broth tasted very light and not too greasy or salty so that was enjoyable. The quality of the meat was very dry and wasn't tender so that was very disappointing. The portion of meat and noodles given wasn't plentiful so that was a bummer. The basil, bean sprouts, and lemon were decent and so were the complimentary sauces. Overall, I wasn't too impressed with the pho and even though it was reasonably priced, it didn't seem to be worth the price since the pho tasted very underwhelming.

We even asked them about it in the middle and it was checked on but we weren't updated and thought they had went ahead and cancelled it but it still came out. No biggy, we packed it to-go since we basically split the pho da biet. Food: Pho da biet (9.5/10): The pho was soooo delicious. It was meaty with a little bit of sweetness to it. This is one of the few places where I don't feel the need to sauce down my pho to enjoy it. There's a good amount of meat in here. If you're a tendon enjoyer, there's about 3 big chunks in here. I love the way they separate everything. If you order this, it comes with the stone bowl at no additional costs. They separate the noodles and ribeye on the side and let you "decorate" it yourself. There was also a good amount of noodles in here. Com tam (7.9/10): I thought that this one was just okay. We got the grilled pork and grilled pork chop and I thought that the meats were cooked perfectly. There was a nice char to the meats and it was seasoned deliciously. It came with a lot of rice and a side of soup to enjoy! I did enjoy this fish sauce more than the one that came with the egg rolls. Overall, I wish this dish came out the same time as the pho so we could've enjoyed it together. Cha gio/Imperial Rolls (7/10): I love egg rolls but this one didn't really stand out to me. It comes with a good amount of vegetables that you can use to wrap your egg rolls in. I wish the fish sauce that came with this was more salty. Maybe it was that day, but I couldn't really tell what was inside the filling. It was all mushed in together instead of different layers. The skin was very thin and crispy which I really liked!

Worth the Parking Struggle!…read more The only downside to trying this new spot? The parking! We thought Summer Rolls in Temple City had a rough parking situation... this one somehow topped it! Around 7 PM, the plaza was absolutely packed with so many cute restaurants, so we ended up parking on the street. Thankfully, dinner made the extra walk completely worth it. We're huge Summer Rolls fans, so I've been wanting to try this place since it opened, and tonight was finally the night! #36 Charbroiled Pork Shoulder with Shrimp Cake & Shredded Pork $16.50 Rating: 9/10 Let me tell you... the char on this pork was phenomenal! It had that beautiful smoky flavor that only comes from perfectly grilled meat. Huge kudos to the chef because this was honestly one of the best charbroiled pork dishes I've had. Not too much fat in it, so it was perfect. But can we also take a moment to appreciate the broken rice? I'm usually not the biggest rice dish person because most places simply serve regular steamed rice... but this broken rice? It could honestly un-break a broken heart. It was light, fluffy, and absolutely delicious. It paired so perfectly with that smoky pork that I found myself finishing every last grain without even realizing it. And one more thing... BEWARE of the spicy sauté sauce! I repeat... do NOT scoop a giant spoonful onto your rice or your Bún Bò Huế like I confidently did with my 2 spoonfuls of rice since we were sharing! That thing has some serious kick! But once my taste buds recovered... wow, it hit HARD in the best way possible. It added so much depth and flavor that I kept going back for more. I've honestly never had a Vietnamese spot with a spicy sauté sauce quite like this, and it definitely hit the spot! Although it isn't your traditional cơm tấm loaded with all the usual sides, this restaurant puts a more modern spin on the dish. There may be fewer components on the plate, but every bite was packed with flavor. I'd honestly rank their charbroiled pork even above Summer Rolls, and that's saying a lot! #5 Nem Spring Rolls $14.00 Rating: 9.5/10 If you're coming here and skipping these... you're doing yourself a disservice! The spring rolls and their crack sauce are still every bit as amazing as I remember. I've been eating at the original Nem Nuong Ninh Hoa across from Rosemead High School since 2009, and it honestly makes me so happy that this family-owned business has kept the same incredible recipe all these years. Over 20 years later, they've truly mastered it, carrying the recipe into Summer Rolls & now Nem. Love this family dynamic secret. I even met the owner, Mai, during our visit. We both looked at each other and laughed because we thought the other looked familiar. Maybe it's because I've been coming to the original location since my high school days! She was incredibly sweet and welcoming, which made the experience even better. As much as Summer Rolls has been our go-to these past few years... I think they're going to have to share the spotlight now. We'll definitely be coming back because my mission is officially to work my way through this entire menu! The service was warm and friendly, the restaurant is modern, beautiful, and spotless, and overall this was such a wonderful experience. Happy eats!
