We got a huge group order, and I got the Japanese udon with steak and added shrimp. My noodles were super dry.. and sad looking. Not sure if it's because it was made earlier since it was a big order. Definitely did not like my gyozas or the sauce it came with- very vinegary. The others that ordered regular pasta seemed to like it, since I don't know how they judge their food since I don't normally eat the same things I won't be counting on their opinion of this place. read more

This is only the 2nd time I've eaten at a Noodles & Co. decided to get the Japanese udon noodles with chicken. They made it fresh in front of me. Which was great. It came out hot and steamy. Chicken was really good too. My only real complaint is that it was kinda dry. The sauce was good. It I needed more of it. The noodles were chewy and good, chicken good, veggies just so-so. Can always use more and better veggies. Staff was good. Store was clean. They had some take out orders and me. It was very quiet. Lots of parking. Prices kinda average. Overall, decent. Tonight was an evening of many firsts at Noodles & Company, but those firsts will signal our last visit. I have always likes N&C, and have brought my children in over the years ever since we first had it in Chicago. It was for the most part never too busy, and we never left hungry. Dinner this evening changed that. We arrived just after 5pm to a mostly empty house, there was no wait to order & we seemed to get our food quickly enough. Our order consisted of (3) various small bowls: pad thai, Japanese pan noodles, & the spicy Korean beef noodles, a spaghetti kids meal, an app of 6 potstickers, 10 Korean BBQ meatballs, and a large rice krispie treat for dessert. When the runner brought our food out, my jaw quite literally hit the table. Their "small", which was once a pretty generous portion of food served in a good sized reusable bowl, has been replaced with quite literally HALF the portions we used to get, and in a carry out container no less. I asked the woman what happened to their portion sizes, to which she couldn't answer because she was new. After we got our meals divided up & started to dig in, my middle daughter (little miss pad thai) said hers tasted funny and she didn't like it. Trying it myself, I was absolutely disgusted. Having had pad thai before, what I tasted today was a VERY poor attempt to recreate the dish. Just because it HAS noodles in it, does NOT mean it should be included in your menu if u can't make it right! I ended up giving her my Japanese pan noodles instead, so the pad thai remained uneaten & was essentially a waste of money. The potstickers & meatballs were good, but barely finished. I noticed my son wasn't eating the diced apple that came with his kids meal, so I sampled it myself. It looked funny to begin with, but in trying it it tasted absolutely rancid to the point where I spit it into a napkin. Truly disgusting! All in all, not a good meal. The fact that I still paid the same price for less than half of the food is appalling. I won't be back anytime soon unless it is on someone else's dime, or until they bring back adequate portion sizes! Give me what I paid for! Since I just HAVE to give a star to this review, we'll say it was for the rice krispie treat, which was soft & delicious. read more

Food was great and came out quickly. With as many people working as there were, the restaurant was a mess. Food and melted ice all over the floors - dirty tables left unwiped - all with the employees standing around. Not a great experience at all even with the food being tasty. It seems the manager needs to do some retraining and be on site more often. read more

Was not a great experience. Waited for ever in line to order, not only did we wait in line we also waited forever for the food. While waiting the employees were loud and messing around the whole time. We get our food after we watched it set on the counter. Then we GET THE WRONG FOOD. As we eat the employees are flicking each other off and running around being loud. All the while the manager just doesn't care. Wasn't correcting or even telling them to just be quiet. Very expensive compared to Qdoba and Panda Express (both right next door). Much smaller portions too! And the service was horrible. After 5-10 minutes wait to place my order, I sat for over 15 minutes watching order after order being delivered to customers who came in much later than me. After two separate trips to the counter to inquire, they finally made my bowl of Beef Stroganoff, which was rather dry and bland. Never again! read more

We LOVE Noodles & Company back in California, so while visiting family in Elkhart we figured this would be a slam-dunk for a good dinner before a movie. It was a Wednesday evening, the restaurant was not busy at all, and we weren't in a rush. Service was quick and friendly enough, but the food was bad. So much for consistency. The pad Thai was OK, but the bacon jalapeño mac and cheese was not good. The shredded cheese on top was not melted, the noodles were a bit too chewy, and the bacon was just burnt bits. But even worse was the 6-piece order of gyoza we got. The wrappers were not cooked all the way. They were doughy and pasty and still had the white powdery coating found on raw gyoza wrappers. The filling inside was warm, but the outside was just inedible, no matter how much sauce. We don't usually like to waste uneaten food, but I didn't feel bad throwing out what we didn't eat. Manager, please train/retrain your staff on proper cooking techniques for taste and food safety. Thanks. read more

First time here and we had high hopes. I got a salad and my boyfriend and son got buffalo chicken Mac and cheese. First impression: I hate takeout registers that prompt you to leave a tip. The cashier sits there and watches what you push, almost guilting you into leaving a tip. I mean, you wouldn't tip at McDonald's or BK. There's no waiter at Noodles, so... Moving on. The guys order drinks and the cashier says they're out of ice. No biggie. They don't really like ice. What the cashier didn't say is that the drinks come out of the fountain warmer than room temperature. Thank God I had my own beverage in the car. Next, we wait... and wait... and wait. About 15 minutes goes by and we are rolling. The people ahead of us get their order. Wait! They take it back. Then the people ahead of us get called again. Then the people AFTER us get called. Just when I'm about hangry enough to storm the counter, voila! Order up! At first I thought they forgot the grilled chicken on my salad, but no... it was under the other cold toppings. Since when is GRILLED chicken COLD? Gross! Thank God my not picky boyfriend swapped meals with me, because I was about to go hungry until we got home. Overall, the mac was not very cheesy, undercooked and just ok. NOT a fan. The worst part is all of this was $41!!! We could've gone out for steak on $41, and got better food faster. Clean, neat, new restaurant in a working man's part of town. Undoubtedly this place does the majority of their business at lunch on the weekdays. Nonetheless, on a weekend, the were polite and on point. I know it's a chain restaurant, but with so few that do their job flawlessly, as they did on my weekend visit, they deserves all five stars. We've been here multiple times and have had great experiences each time! Everything we've ordered, we loved! We mostly order online and they added items we said to remove, but no big deal, we don't have food allergies so we were able to just pick out the pieces we didn't want. It is a bit pricey, we usually order two adult entrees and two kids meals, it's around $40. But, the restaurant is VERY CLEAN (which is a huge deal for us) and the employees are very nice! First time when they opened it was good. Last 2 times was bad. 2nd time mac n cheese to go was not mixed so inedible when got back to work. 3rd time, ordered double portion of meat. Wife ordered 1 portion of chicken. Hers had more than mine. But they swore it was 2 chicken breast patties. Maybe if I was having those mini chicken sliders. One in Mishawaka is much better.
