This place is great for a quick bite. I came here and ordered take out. I got the spicy korean beef noodles, which is "ramen noodles tossed with a sweet and spicy Korean-style Gochujang sauce, marinated steak, napa and red cabbage, Asian sprouts, spinach, topped with cucumber, green onions and cilantro." For a small size, I thought it was quite filling. Overall, the meal was just okay. The beef was really good but I think the noodles had way too much sauce. It was overly sweet and not spicy at all. My husband picked up dinner at Noodles near Valley River this evening. There was absolutely NO sauce on my Pad Thai. About the third bite into it I came up with a LONG DARK HAIR! Gross, dinner was over for me at that point. We live about 5 miles from this location, so there's no way we're driving another 10 miles round trip to go get it fixed. Pretty good. Nice servers and decently tasting food. Nothing too special though except that there are all types of noodles. I went here with my friend and we both ordered the spaghetti and meatballs. I got mine not spicy, though it did taste slightly spicy. The servers kept asking us how we were doing. That was nice, but 3 times in 45 minutes is a bit much. The set up of the place is casual. Go in, walk to the right and order. Then get a number and wait for your food. However, when waiting in line to order, I like to look at the menu, but with the font being so small, it's tough to be ready with my order when I get to the counter. The fountain drink machine is all fancy! I felt a little lost because I just got water and I was looking for the water pitcher, dispenser, etc. But it all comes out of that fancy drink machine! read more

The King and his friend after much travel by carriage to look for a place to dine, The King's friend suggested that we go to this establishment, since I have not never been, I agreed. When entering in the early morning, it was quite barren and deserted. This was not a concern to The King for even l know that much business to be done is at noon and beyond. The King's belly was not quite empty and demanding, and opted for a light morsel to dine upon. I was overwhelmed with the selection of items, for there were so many, too many I would say. I chose the Pulled Pork Sandwich with a side of a tomato bisque with a flavoring of basil. Quite simply called Tomato Basil Soup. Who would have thought? I was given a cup for my beverage. To my surprise it was not filled. The wench behind the counter told us of the contraption in the corner that would dispense our beverages for us. You mean to say that The King has to fill his own cup. This did not worry me. The King must be humble at times and live like the pheasants in his kingdom. I went to this contraption labeled "Coca-Cola." First I felt as if I were doing magic as I dispensed frozen cubes of water into the cup and had to choose from a array of flavors. The King is very fond of strawberry, so he chose the Strawberry Fanta. Diet of course, even a King has to look after his health and figure. Even with such complicity to this contraption, The King was fond of it and thought of it quite delightful and wished for one to be installed in his castle. The King and his friend sat at a table of his choosing as any King should, so for efficiency purposes we sat next to the beverage contraption, so that I do not have to travel afar for a second helping of the sweet Strawberry Fanta. The food came no sooner after we sat. The Kings Sandwich was good, yet the bread was soggy due to the excess of fat not being drained properly. The sauce called BBQ was also good. I was quite stricken at the larger portion of soup. The soup was also hearty, and not watery as if someone pissed in a pot and heated it up and called it such. Even with the heartiness of the soup, the taste of it did not wow the king. My friend's and The King's dining experience was mediocre at best and nothing to write back to the castle about.. The King, however, as frugal as I might be does not like to be cheated from his coin. At $8, this was a reasonable amount to charge. Somehow over all the years, we had not tried a Noodles and Company. This changed today at the one by the Three Rivers Mall. My wife tried the Pasta Fresca with Chicken and liked it, finding it very good. I had the Spicy Chipotle Adoba with Pork and it was good and I appreciated that it came with some sour cream. They do have lots of choices and you can even get noodles made of zucchini instead of pasta. Affordable!! Found myself at this location around noon and thought I'd try out this place. I ordered a small Thai curry soup and it cost $3.00!!!! Wow! And I added a small Caesar. Seriously, I enjoyed the flavor, simplicity and price. I found a nice quiet table giving me a real nice view of all the other dishes ordered by others. I even asked one lady about her order. We really like the food and the staff is always very friendly. This is the second time we ordered food to go during the COVID situation. Surprised that the cooks are still NOT wearing face coverings. (The counter help is though.) Since not all the dishes they serve are heated (salads) I would assume this would be a requirement. I didn't notice hand sanitizing by any of the staff but I may not have been in view of it. The dish did not appear to be greasy or unhealthy. It tasted excellent. I also had a small tomato basil bisque, which was also really good. Ordered the beef stroganoff among other things and when I got home the stroganoff was dry with very little meat and literally 4 slices of mushroom I couldn't even eat most of the noodles they were dry and undercooked. I think for the price I'll go elsewhere from now on. I was skeptical coming from a Italian restaurant in portland that was true to its Italian roots but this place has a variety that far exceeds what I was thinking. I tried the pad thai and added chicken. The small was a perfect size for me for a early dinner. Loved it. My boyfriend got their bbq pork, a sandwich with coleslaw and a side of bbq sauce. We've been here twice now and both times the food was meh. The service is awesome, but the food, not so much. The stroganof was dry and the meat super tough. The chicken soup was awful. The broth was greasy and the chicken was crazy dry. The spagetti and meatballs was allright, but I've had better. The pesto cavatappi was probably the best thing I've tried there. Ever have one of those days where you MUST have noodles and nothing else will do? That was me today, so I ventured into Eugene's newest noodlery. And it was a good thing. Diverse menu, reasonable prices, cheerful setting, and good service. Very reasonable prices, in fact. And very good service. On this trip, I had the pesto cavatappi with chicken breast. Yum. On prior visits (mostly to other Noodles stores, since this one is brand new) I've had the penne rosa (yum!!!), the japanese pan noodles with steak (yum!!!), and the mac and cheese (yum, too, but I'd recommend the other two I mentioned, frankly). The Chinese chop salad is worth a try, too. Perhaps the best thing about this place is the fact that you can get a meal that is much better (and much more creatively put together) than most other quick-service places, without having to endure outrageous prices or whatever schticky differentiator happens to be employed. Yes, indeed, this is a schtick-free environment for the most part: No pieces of flair. No server pretending to be a close friend and sitting down with you. No fake accents. No constant repeat-yelling of orders as if the staff is hearing impaired. No blatant, constant, shameless upselling. When the food comes, it's a decent-sized portion, fresh and well-prepared, delivered by a nice person who then gets the hell out of the way and lets you eat. The smile is genuine and the food is good. Oh, and you have to check out the soda machine. That thing is straight from Vegas: umpteen different soda types that then you can put flavoring into, all controlled by a slick touchscreen. Definitely waaaay over the top but it's fun. read more

At last! Eugene has joined the club of Noodles & Co towns, and not a day too soon. I used to live in a town that had one, and ate there all the time. I must confess that I squealed when I noticed the new location by Valley River. As soon as I got home, I signed up for their email list, so I could get notified of the opening date. And lo and behold, a week later I received an invitation for a free preview lunch! This location absolutely lives up to my expectations of Noodles & Co. The food is just as delicious. We had Penne Rosa with AMAZING meatballs, and Truffle Mac & Cheese with parmesan chicken (my other favorite protein). Service was excellent too, everyone was in a cheerful mood and happy to help us, bring us free refills, etc. The manager apparently used to manage their Clackamas location, and the experience shows. Everything seemed to be running very smoothly. For those who are new to Noodles & Company, here's how it works: 1. You order a dish from the American, Mediterranean, or Asian menu. This includes noodle dishes (penne, macaroni, wheat noodles, etc.) and some things like curry and soups (thai curry soup, tomato bisque, and chicken noodle soup) 2. You pick a protein: chicken breast, parmesan crusted chicken, marinated beef, shrimp, organic tofu or meatballs. 3. You an add on some salad options, including a Chinese chop salad, and a cucumber/tomato mediterranean side salad that's very good. Or a small serving of soup! 4. Dessert! They have sweets like cookies and rice krispy treats. For take-out they do big square bowls of any of their dishes. I've never gotten any, but I probably will in the future, now that we have a Noodles & Co so close to home. I tried to talk the manager into making a deal with something like Pony Express Delivery, so we can just order food. They're already set up for large-quantity take-out, so might as well. This place is fantastic! The food is fresh & tasty! The staff was very friendly & upbeat. They have a great selection of dishes, so few people will walk away unsatisfied. I was amazed at how reasonable the prices were. It cost $43 for 7 of us to eat & we were all full when we left. Everybody enjoyed their meals. It's only a $1 for a side salad with your meal. What a great idea, noodles, who doesn't love them ! And there was a huge variety of offerings. Well, I've tasted better. My first visit: don't go at lunch time ! Crowded, noisy, not particularly comfy setting. Got buttered noodles with italian seasoning, (e.g., parmesan, etc.) . The noodles were undercooked, the seasoning great, but not enough of it to last more than the first few bites. The absolute worst "Thai" noodles I have ever had. Food in general does not seem fresh, some of our party's noodles were cold. They add cheap spices and grease to otherwise bland food. If it was a couple of bucks cheaper per plate, I may have rated it two stars. But I truly feel robbed after eating here. read more

Noodles can swing both Western and Eastern, as this place shows. The emphasis in definitely on Americanized palates, however, to judge from our dinner excursion recently. They can do simple, like mac and cheese or even buttered noodles for the picky kids, or a bit more elaborate, like stroganoff or curry. You order at the counter, stating your dish selection, small or large size, protein if relevant, and drink. Helpfully they show the calorie count of each dish, and the size of the bowls so you don't overorder or underorder. They even serve beer and wine if you so desire. DLW went with a curry noodle soup, which had a nicely flavorful broth with recognizable Asian spices, but was skimpy on the noodles and definitely on the mild side. I went for a new item, chicken tikka masala, one of my all-time favorite dishes. Again it was light on the heat, but nicely creamy. Instead of rice, it was served on orzo pasta, which is consistent with the noodle theme but seemed odd. Flatbread served alongside was mediocre at best. We also tried Korean meatballs in a sticky sweet sauce, which made the underseasoned meatballs much more palatable. One big plus is the value. We could easily have spent less than $10 per person and had a perfectly adequate amount of food, at least decent quality, in a chainy but clean dining room. Back in college I would have loved this place. Now it just seems like a okay option compared to the others around VRC. read more

One of my fave places to go on a budget. So many tasty options but I always tend to get the penne rosa pasta with shrimp and feta cheese. The staff are mellow and the drink machine has crazy options! If I had to make a critique is that the atmosphere could be more cozy. It's a bit stark and bright. Also, if you like your mushrooms cooked you better tell them or they'll give them to you pretty much raw. Sauce was pretty good and creamy and I liked the sautéed mushrooms. But the pasta! Al dente and yet just a little mushy, it tasted like the water they use to finish off an already half-cooked order. I stopped in at Noodles & Company for the first time with my girlfriend last night. She has been to other locations and thought the food was decent. It wasn't a bad experience. Noodles & Company has a decent selection of pasta dishes. They also had sandwiches and things like that if I hadn't been in the mood for noodles. Normally I stick to spaghetti when it comes to pasta, but I decided to try the steak stroganoff and my girlfriend got the buttermilk noodles with shrimp. I also decided to add some tomato basil soup since I could add it to my order for $1.50 more. The food arrived and wasn't correct, as my girlfriend's product had steak instead of shrimp. It was quickly changed out for the correct product. They forgot my tomato soup, but quickly got that out to me, too. I think we only waited maybe 6-7 minutes for our food. The steak stroganoff wasn't bad. It wasn't great, either. It needed more kick and flavor. The steak was very good though and the noodles were cooked well. My girlfriends noodles were awesome and very tasty. The soup was decent and was even a bit thick (which I'm not sure helped or hurt the flavor). The meal, along with two fountain drinks, was about $21. Also, the fountain drink machine didn't have all of the options of flavors, which was a bummer. About half weren't highlighted, so no cherry coke for my girlfriend. Overall -- and I keep saying it -- it wasn't bad. Would I come here again? Sure I would. There are more things to try and I was able to fill myself up just fine without going to buy a burger. The minor mistakes were quickly and cheerfully corrected so there was no issue there. I would certainly give Noodles & Company a shot if you are in the mood for pasta -- and if you aren't, they have some other items you can try, too. read more
