Ordered catering last week for delivery on Saturday 2/20 at 11:45am. When I called the store last week after placing the order, they went back and forth with me arguing that we had a delivery set for Friday 2/19 at 5:45pm. That was the first issue. I called the store this morning at 9:30am to have them remove the dessert tray from my order. I was told that they may not be able to do that and I would get a call back in 2 hours regarding that. When they called back, it was to ask me if I wanted grilled chicken or parmesan chicken on my order. I said parmesan, just as it states on my order receipt. I then asked about removing the dessert tray and was told the only way to do that was to cancel my existing order and place a new one. WHAT??!! I don't think so. I then asked if they could give me a gift card for $25 (the same amount as the dessert tray) and I was told by the manager that the gift card doesn't work that way???!!! I then inquired as to when my order will be delivered as it was 5 mins past the delivery time and the manager said, "as soon as I can." I said that doesn't help me as I have 20 people looking at me wondering where the food is. I asked for an ETA and he hung up on me. I called back and spoke to the same manager who said he will leave as soon as he can. He then said he will be here in 15 minutes. 20 minutes later, I am still waiting..... I called and asked for the contact information of the District Manager. The manager I was speaking with said he did not have that information, only that his first name is Victor. This is by far the worst customer service I have ever encountered. read more

I visited Noodles & Company today for the second time with my girlfriend's little brother. When we got there it wasn't too busy. We walked up to the counter and were served straight away. My girlfriend's little brother ordered the spaghetti and I got the Bangkok curry. Not at one point did the server say that I could add a meat to it and as it was my second time I kind of just had to go with the flow of the server so I missed out on that. I can understand why another "yelper" had a problem with the young staff with no experienced staff around. We sat at the bar in front of the window. Our food came quickly and was delicious. Everything was cooked perfectly and I really enjoyed it. Another plus that appeals to the kid in me and to the 11 year old I was with was the coke machine that can make almost any coke drink you want. It started off as a negative experience, ended with a positive. NEGATIVE EXPERIENCE BELOW I made an online order, I gave the staff 1 hour to make the food since it was peak hours (5pm), I even arrived 10 minutes after the pickup time (my daughter was being a brat). Order had not been started and was obviously overlooked. I pointed my order out on their screen and she said, "Oh, we are working on it already". When, it was quite obvious, that they haven't. I let it go, but it still took a good 15-20 minutes to get it out to me. Again, I let it go. The breaking point was I took the food home, to find the server put the plate in vertically, when it was meant to be laying horizontally flat. The caused my daughter's mac'n'cheese to be mixed with applesauce and broccoli. I threw it out. Ordered pizza. I was frustrated as a father just trying to have a night off and feed my daughter. So i did the worst thing anyone can ever do-- I complained. POSITIVE OUTCOME BELOW I mentioned my experience to their manager through the corporate website. Cozy filling food for cold winter nights! Their chicken noodle soup is wonderful. I also like their Stroganoff with Chicken. I usually visit the Noodles & Co in Fairfax, but was closer to this one the other night and had a craving for noodles. Yes, I do get those cravings. Call it what you will - comfort food, meat n potatoes type food, stick-to-your-ribs food. It's all good and I love it. They have "categories" of noodles. Asian-inspired, USA-inspired, Italian-inspired. You can order Pad Thai as easily as ordering Pesto Cavatappi or Mac & Cheese. They recently started giving you a choice of two sizes, "regular" and "small." There is very little difference in size, in my opinion, and the "small" plate is plenty. Remember, these are carbs and fill you up pretty fast. You can save yourself some money as well as calories by ordering the small plate. Dishes are custom-created, so even if the Stroganoff was originally for beef, you can substitute chicken (or shrimp if you desire!). They are very flexible, which makes it fun and presents more variety each time you go. This location was clean and uncrowded when I was there. The staff were friendly and helpful, no problems at all with my order. There's a soda machine as well as two kinds of iced tea with free refills. It's a great place for a quick bite both for lunch or dinner. read more

Alright, so I have broken down and gone to this Noodles and Co a few more times after a 3 year break. Since this location has some age on it now, it seems to be doing a better. The staff has evidently seen a huge turnover as they are much more customer service focused. Kudos to the management/owners for addressing the constant poor service and really kicking it up a notch. I am happy to report that my last three visits have been illness free, accurate, and not infuriating to the point of wanting to snatch a high schooler by the hair from across the counter. I also love the new additions of flat breads and such. The Thai soup pot seems a little pricey at $8.50, but it is absolutely delicious. Yellow coconut curry broth, cabbage, sprouts, peppers, shiitake mushrooms, rice noodles, pulled chicken and pork, basin and a lime. I dream about this soup these days. I have always loved Noodles and Co and I am so happy that I can tolerate going into this store now! A well-deserved update!!! read more

I stopped by the recently opened Noodles and Company in Manassas tonight for dinner. The place kind of has an odd atmosphere. It's hard to tell what they're going for - pasta but kind of with an Asian feel... I don't know. I also found the menu to be a little confusing, but that may have just been due to the fact that it was my first time there. I went with the Wisconsin Macaroni and Cheese and a small Caesar Salad, with a soft drink. This came out to about $12, which I thought was kind of expensive, considering this isn't even a sit-down restaurant. The food was okay. The salad wasn't romaine lettuce like you would normally find in a caesar salad, but a mixture of greens, which I didn't really care for. The macaroni and cheese wasn't bad, but it also wasn't great. Overall, I didn't really love the place and found it too expensive for a mediocre experience. I probably will not be going back. read more

My Rating is 2.5 Stars. This Noodles and Company can be VERY hit or miss, which is unfortunate. I like the chain, but this store seems to be slipping, especially when compared to others. On a recent trip, my son ordered the buttered noodles (only a kid would order this! Yuk!) with the parmesan crusted chicken breast. When the meal came to the table, my son said they got the order wrong, that they had given him the grilled chicken. I took it back up to the front and the cook/manager (?) said that it was the parmesan crusted chicken, but the crusting came off in the cooker. He then looked at me as if to say, "Now go back to your seat and eat what I gave you!" I said that I would like the crust on the chicken, and beyond reason he said again "It came off in the cooker!" WTF??? I asked him to cook it again properly, that if I wanted a Parmesan Crusted Chicken without the Parmesan Crust, I would have ordered it that way! After another dirty look from him, he went back and re-did it. (I naturally stood there and watched him to be sure he didn't add a little extra "salt" to it while he was cooking. My first job was at McDonalds: Lesson - Never piss off the girl taking your order at drive through!) On a side note: While my kids love this place, I would not say it is good for kids as they have no kid's meals. Not a big issue, but it can get pretty expensive here if you have a large family. read more

Noodles & Company - affectionately known as Noodles to its fans - is in my upper-tier of quick-casual counter service options. I can understand those who are weary of the "global noodles" concept ... how good can the pasta and marinara or Thai noodles be at a place that covers nearly any style of cuisine that has pasta? Truth be told, I've always thought that myself, which is why I typically stick with the more American-style pasta dishes. Their mac and cheese and stroganoff are both very tasty. But my usual go-to is an exercise in minimalism ... their straight up buttered noodles are fantastic. Try them with either steak or meatballs ... so good. I've never had an issue at this Noodles. I've dined here about a half dozen times, the most recent being a couple of weeks ago, and we got the standard Noodles treatment. And, of course, who doesn't love the Coca-Cola Freestyle Machine, where you can mix your own multi-flavored bastardized soda creation. As for their Thai food - I did try their Thai Curry soup recently and it was pretty good. Everybody needs some comfy carbs now and then, and every town needs a Noodles. I'm glad the one in M-town is close to my house. read more

When I first saw a sign for Noodles and Company, I wondered why would anyone go there. I mean come on. It's noodles. Right? Anyone can cook noodles. Am I wrong? I wasn't totally wrong. But this is a nice place. It's informal. It's not a fancy sit down restaurant where you crack open a bottle of chardonnay with your meal. It's low key. You order it at the counter, request eat-in or take-out and then go and sit at a table or go home. The drinks are primarily soda. The tables are nice. It's a step up from McDonald's. It's peaceful and very clean. I've always had a pleasant experience. There are three key styles of noodles: Thai, Italian and I think American. You can get spaghetti and meatball (yawn). Or you can get pad thai I think. I like the Tuscan noodles. I don't know what's in it, but it's pretty good. On top of the noodles you can get some protein. I usually get some chicken on top of mine. Now, after probably a year of not having eaten here, I thought I'd treat myself... So disappointed! They've raised the price of adding extras ($.75 to $1.00 per extra/addition of veggies) -- and there still isn't enough in the dish! The portions are also much smaller -- even though the prices have increased. If you're going to spend this kind of money, you'd be better off doing it at a be seated & be served restaurant with more variety and definitely larger portions with just as good on taste! read more

Illogical "make it green" thinking, Noodles & Company. We like the food here (they have rice noodles!) and the nice people, but tonight we went there, ordered, headed over for drinks and I filled my cup with iced tea. I don't use sugar, so I looked around for any one of the half-dozen sugar substitutes. Finding none, I spoke to the guy who took our order. He said, "our company is going completely green so we're not offering artificial sweeteners." I asked about Stevia. He said, "Ummmmm." So I sat down and started drinking my yucky tea. Just a few minutes later the store manager came out to talk and apologize - she did a good job! She also repeated the same claim. No more artificial ingredients. I pointed over her shoulder to the huge soda machine from which you can dispense any soda you'd like. Coke, Diet Coke. Fanta Orange. Root Beer. You name it. I said, "So you're getting rid of your soda machine?" She said, "Ummmm. No." *blink* Great job, Noodles & Company. Very logical thinking there. We tried their food via take out and it was pretty good. Certain meals have different noodles and textures and when you get thicker noodles they can be a little chewy. The food that I ordered ended up being spicy without warning but the spice added great flavor to my food. All in all, it was a pretty good food experience I just wish that I was warned about the spice and that the thicker noodles were cooked longer! read more

I may be optimistically upgrading my first review, but here's my explanation: the afternoon of my bad experience was followed by an email from Noodles and Co asking me how my experience was. I gave it to them straight and fairly, and expressed my inconvenience. Two days later I received a phone call from the manager of the store apologizing and asking me to please return for a complimentary lunch. So today I called in my order and finally got to enjoy what I been looking forward to last week. The employees were courteous and (again) apologetic. My order was on time and there were no problems. Despite 1 check in, I've been here a few times as well as the Centreville location. I like this chain, never had hard noodles like other people. I usually get the Tuscan Fresca with feda and grilled chicken and a side of soup. Always good. Their rice Krispy treats are hugs, soft, and delish. The make it fresh everyday! By far the worst experience I have ever had in a fast food restaurant. As an 18 year vegetarian, I now have to live with the fact that I've eaten meat from here. I specifically asked for Tofu, and the cashier who was clearly zoning out likely not listening and high out of her mind and charged us extra for chicken AND tofu. I had to take time from my break at work to order food and she and the cooks messed up not one, not two, but three orders by giving the wrong noodles and the wrong meat and they were simply not listening and when we asked for a refund they looked at me like I was crazy and were very rude. I'm just hurt because I have to live with having eaten meat after years. I explained to them after refund the order I wanted and they MADE THE EXACT SAME MISTAKES. As a Spanish speaker they all began to talk shit too. And then I asked them if they were slow because they truly weren't listening and I ended up storming out. Do not go here as it lacked integrity and I will he calling area manager. I had ordered this order so many times for them to understand before and I loved this place. One of the best Noodles & Company's in NoVA! The employees are very nice and the food is good for the most part. The reason I say "for the most part" is because they mess up on the simplest things. I had ordered the potstickers and they had come out flat, almost as if something may have been sitting on them. They were ok tasting but like I said they were flat. Another small issue they had was the parmesan crusted chicken. There was barely any crust on it. Isn't the point of ordering a parmesan CRUSTED chicken is so I have a crust. The last small issue is their iced tea. Some people may not care about this but I know I do! Each tea flavor has it's own issue. The Sweet Tea tastes like soap and water. The Lemon Tea with "reduced" sweetener tastes fine with a small sip, but when you completely get it, you question yourself and ask "Does this taste like more lemon and water than tea or is that just me?" I can say I do that every time I come here! I don't even bother with the unsweetened tea, because, aside from the fact that they have sweeteners I would not use, if the sweetened and lemon tea taste bad you know the unsweetened is just as bad if not worse! If you're looking for a place to eat today, Noodles is NOT on their game so you should choose someplace else. Every empty table was dirty when we walked in and we had to clean off our own table, a majority of the sodas at the fountain were out, half of our order was wrong and to make up for it we got a 'buy one get one bowl free' coupon.
