When we went back in, one entrée was leaking and they forgot the appetizer a second time. I use to come here very often, especially cause sometimes it just helps with quick pasta meals for me and my fiancee. To preface this review, I have been eating gluten free a long time, and I understand the difference between something advertised as gluten free, and something advertised as gluten friendly. On July 2, I ordered a gluten free dish from this location on DoorDash. I found a regular spaghetti noodle in with my gluten free shells which renders the entire dish a safety and health risk to me. When I contacted the store, Jackie the manager was, at first, trying to be helpful. When I explained my issue she became increasingly condescending and rude, claiming that nothing is advertised as gluten free (it is) and that no special precautions are taken for gluten free unless I *call the kitchen* to let them know that gluten free means "please don't boil my noodles with the gluten ones". The other option given to me was to use the special instructions section on DoorDash, which this location has turned off. The pipette shells are clearly listed as gluten free, and the rice noodles are listed as gluten friendly. "Gluten friendly" is not a risk I take. "gluten free" by its very name implies that I can be guaranteed this food is safe for me to eat. Instead, Noodles and Co makes it completely unsafe and then tells me it's my fault. Jackie became completely callous and dismissive and I was able to receive neither an apology nor a refund. Do NOT order from this place if you have any sort of idea that your *advertised as gluten free* food will actually be safe. read more

I was impressed with the tofu, it was definitely seasoned! My issue was with the pasta. Unfortunately, the pasta was VERY dry and didn't have much flavor throughout. It looked like the seasoning stuck to certain noodles, which caused those bites to be flavorful, but the others were bland. I was disappointed because my friend loves this dish, but I don't think it was prepared to the best of its ability. I will probably try it again, just to give it a second chance. I've only just recently discovered how good Noodles & Company is, and I'm happy to know they're just right around the corner from me now! I've previously waltzed past this and other locations without thinking twice about stopping in, until one night I made the decision to checkout their menu and I wasn't disappointed. It's like fast food but for pasta, and healthier! Tonight I purchased just the chicken potstickers, 6 count - but their Mac & Cheese as well as most of their classic dishes are some of my new favorites. I usually come here when I'm looking for something quick and filling without actually doing pizza/fast-food and I feel this is a healthier alternative. This location is a little hard to find parking sometimes, and the employees aren't all too friendly - tonight I saw a lady hand a tip to the crew and the lady just looked around and pocketed it for herself instead of putting it in the tip jar, she then used the same bare hands she touched money with to pack up my dish - YUCK! I haven't seen or had this experience before, so I'm hoping that was just one bad apple and doesn't happen again, hence why 4 stars instead of 5. I will be back as long as I don't see anyone prepare more of my food with their bare hands. All in all this place is a nice, quick bite to eat sort of joint. Food (for what it is) is a 3.8/5 in my book, quickness is a 4/5, and service/employees are about a 2/5 unfortunately. If you're not a member of the Noodles & Company birthday club you should be. You get a free dish. It's worth the occasional emails. N&C to me is just one of a new trend of Deluxe Fast Food joining others such as Five Guys, Chipotle, Qdoba, Pei Wei and Cosi. It's like fast food where you wait in line to order, but the food is better, it takes longer to make and is about $10 a person. At N&C, you order at a counter and pay then someone brings it out to you. They bus your table when you're finished and don't accept tips. The menu is quite diverse with a range from Thai to Italian to downhome favorites like Mac & Cheese and Stroganoff. A nice option is that you can have a dish with your choice of protein including tofu for the vegetarian. In addition there are soups and salads and cookies. This particular N&C is quite large with a big dining room. I was the only one there when I redeemed my birthday coupon. The staff was really nice and the food was served quickly. I noticed several tables hadn't been bused which was a little odd. I figured if I was the only patron they probably had time to clear the tables. The food was hot and tasted very fresh. At the end of the day, however I always ask myself "couldn't I make this at home?" It seems strange to go out and pay $10 for noodles when you could make it yourself. All in all, a decent noodle joint, and if you have been to one Noodles & Company, you have been to them all. However, that is not necessarily a bad thing necessarily when dealing with a chain place like this. The have recently added delivery, so that is another nice convenience. Every so often I like to get this as a comfort-food type treat. The dining room is typical "We're not "fast food'. but we really are" sort of place. Comfortable, but not TOO comfortable. This was more like a slightly dressed up version of Kraft Mac & Cheese. Okay, I know this is not authentic anything, but I really really REALLY like noodles. A hot piping bowl of slippery pasta can only make a bad day good and a good day better! It is a counter service place, but everything is made fresh to order and brought out to you. The prices are very reasonable, and the portions are too - so many pasta restaurants give you enough food for a third world country, and here the "small" bowl is truly enough for a normal human to have for lunch. That's good for me because I don't stop eating spaghetti until I see the bottom of the bowl, and heaven knows my pants don't need to get any tighter. I love that you can get different types of "cuisine:" Asian, Italian, or American style. I got a spicy marinara with meatballs that was WAAAAY too spicy for me, but I still really enjoyed the experience and would go back again and again. I respect a place that really gives you spicy when you ask for it, even if I probably shouldn't have asked for it. Plenty of seating available, and it's close enough to Barnes & Noble to pick up their free wifi signal. I really enjoy the Noodles in my old college town. But this Noodles is like McDonald's. At dinner it is BURSTING with children under the age of 6. I don't like children and I was vastly outnumbered. It killed whatever "ambiance" a generic fast food chain has. But I can see the appeal. The portions are small, they are very kid friendly, and actually relatively healthy. Oh, and it's cheap. Personally, I only like the pan fried noodles. It's small enough to satisfy me for a light lunch, and pretty light on the calories (about 300). It has a little spicy sign next to it, but it's not spicy, trust me. Even Midwesterners could find their spicy index palatable. Everything else is pretty bland or has cream in it. read more

It was creamy with sauteed mushrooms and shredded parm over the top and you could tase the truffle oil, but it wasn't overpowering. The spag was ok for DQ, the meatballs were horrendous school meatballs that were cooked,.....to death. I attempted to eat one. Nah, would like to keep my teeth. So, we learned to stay away from the meatballs for next time. Live and learn! If you want more water, you get off your ass and go get it. All meals are about $7 on average. Yes, some of their stuff is bland but feel free to modify to your own liking....my fave? Buttered noodles (light on the parm), seasoning, marinated tofu, broccoli, and mung bean sprouts and soy sauce...nummy in my tummy. For other newbies, you order and pay for your food before taking a seat. The food is brought to your table fairly quickly. I was surprised by the mediocre reviews for Noodles & Company, so I thought I'd add my two cents. I like it here (Royal Oak location). My favorite dish is the Japanese Pan Noodles with Sauteed Beef. I've also had it with a grilled chicken breast. Either way, the dish is generously portioned with lots of fresh broccoli, carrots and sprouts, nicely spiced, and really pretty good for an inexpensive quick casual noodle joint. The pad thai is not bad. Kinda like pad thai made by non Asians! The mac and cheese is deliciously creamy and good. My wife gets the Pesto Cavatappi--a tasty pesto tossed with cavatappi noodles, tomato, parmesan and mushrooms. Have them throw in some shrimp. Service is usually friendly and quick. Runners bring your food to you, and there's no tipping. It's great for a quick lunch. read more

It almost pains me to give this chain-restaurant 3 stars. But here is why...because it is not bad. You get what you pay for. The food is only ok. The Med Salad with the spicy yogurt dressing is excellent - the rest is simple and acceptable. DO NOT GO for a culinary experience. Go instead for a fast, adequate, and inexpensive meal served by generally nice people who seem to care that your experience is good.
