I have been eager to try this place starting back when the "coming soon" sign was posted. Finally it seemed to not be too crowded so my husband and I tried it on a weeknight evening. I was surprised the food did not come out together (15 minutes between my entree and my husbands) but this is the only reason I did not give it 5 stars. The place is decorated very nicely and clean. Our waiter was very nice and somewhat attentive. Food - We started off with the steamed variety dumplings and I wasn't disappointed but not excited about them either. I guess I am a little spoiled with Hakkasan dumplings which nothing compares. I was a little disappointed to find out I ordered the wrong entree but instead wound up with Singapore Noodles... let's just say after tasting it I was pleasantly surprised. The veggies, egg and meat were spot on and with just enough curry... now this is going to be on of my favorite entrees. My husband doesn't have a large pallet but he chose the Hawaiian fried rice and loved it. We will definitely go back and try other menu items. The food portions are large so great place to share an appatizer and entree and leave full. And did I mention, the bill was under $60. read more

We visited on a Wednesday evening for dinner, and the restaurant was not very busy. We have been here many times. We started with the pork soup dumplings, and they were absolutely delicious. The server who brought them out was very friendly and took the time to explain the proper way to eat them, which we really appreciated. They were definitely the highlight of the meal and I highly recommend ordering them. We also ordered the broccoli combo plate, which was very good and flavorful. Unfortunately, our experience went downhill when the Singapore noodles arrived. The menu photo shows noodles with vegetables and meat, but what we received looked nothing like the picture. It was a soggy, yellow, gooey pile of noodles with none of the ingredients we expected based on the menu description. It was honestly one of the worst noodle dishes we've ever been served. We asked our waitress if the wrong dish had been brought out because it didn't resemble the menu photo at all. She agreed to get the manager. When he came to the table, he never introduced himself, so we weren't even sure he was the manager. He simply stated that because the chef made the dish correctly, there was nothing they could do. We explained that the meal didn't match either the menu description or the photo and that it was missing the listed ingredients. His response was, "You can take it home for someone else to eat." When we said no one would eat it because it wasn't what we ordered, he replied that he could remove it from the table, but we would still have to pay for it. Mistakes happen at every restaurant, and I understand that. What was most disappointing wasn't just the food, it was the complete lack of customer service. Had they simply acknowledged the issue and offered to remake the dish or replace it with something else, we would have left happy. Instead, we were charged for a meal that was inedible and didn't match what was advertised. The dumplings alone are worth trying, but based on this experience, I can't recommend coming here. Well, I specifically sent a message and email to avoid doing this but with no response in 4 days from either my message or email... here is my experience... My family and I were super excited about coming into your restaurant in Rockwall last night. We got an order of the vegetable Bao as an appetizer... it came out last (fine) and when we bit into it, there were literal cleaning chemicals in it... it was the most disgusting thing I've ever put in my mouth. My daughter took a bite and we both knew something was very wrong. My mouth started to get a strange sensation and I later got mildly sick. I told the waitress who gave it to the manager who literally SPIT IT OUT after taking a bite and knew something was wrong... so the manager "talked to the cook" and all you did was take it off my bill. I asked for an explanation and apparently they were cleaning chemicals from your dishwasher... maybe they didn't get the soap off, maybe the chemicals they used were the wrong ones.... Come to find out - those wood baskets shouldn't even be put in the dishwasher. So your rectified actions for me and my family eating CLEANING CHEMICALS was a "sorry" and "you don't have to pay for that." You don't know how to wash your own wooden baskets properly? This should be a simple safety protocol. After speaking with another restaurant owner - this is simply unacceptable. I won't even make a big deal that the food we ordered was lackluster and had virtually no flavor..My daughter didn't even want to finish her ramen, but the general tsos and scallion pancakes weren't bad... not a good night... We had high hopes... I'm hoping this was just a very off night but I most definitely did not feel like we got our $100 worth. Had I been working at this restaurant and this happened to a customer , the reaction would've been much more urgent. I think if my daughter and I ate chemicals because of your negligence, I should at least be entitled to not have to pay for your terrible meal... The Kung Pao Chicken was filled with all the great stuff- but the flavor was something like those Asian dishes found in the frozen food aisle at Walmart. And the fried rice? This spot just opened recently & I had heard good things about it so I was eager to try it. First off the soup dumplings are a must! And do yourself a favor and add their chilli oil, it takes it up another notch! The Singapore noodles were my second favorite meal, it was super flavorful, and a really good portion size. While it's great to finally have these options in Rockwall, the flavors and food were fairly subpar compared to the many amazing spots you can find across the rest of DFW. Because they are the only spot in town for soup dumplings, they win by default for proximity, and I might stop in again if I'm craving them and don't want to drive. Service is on point. BUT, BIG Warning . They have a paper sign saying they charge 20% gratuities for parties of 6 or more. This to me is usually a bad sign, no pun intended. Beautiful New Spot With Amazing Food! As soon as you walk in, the restaurant is absolutely beautiful. The wall of masks near the entrance is stunning ~ each one is colorful, detailed, and displayed like artwork. It sets the tone right away and shows how much care went into designing the space. Combined with the hanging pink flowers on the ceiling, the whole place feels vibrant, artistic and welcoming. It's genuinely a pretty restaurant and new in Rockwall. We started out with some hot tea, then ordered several items, and every single dish was delicious. The Xiao Long Bao combo came out piping hot and full of flavorful broth. The shrimp Vegetable Delight was loaded with veggies and was yummy, however the broccoli needed to be cooked longer as they were harder than I like. My boyfriend got the Broccoli Chicken dish but had asked for the broccoli to be cooked longer (I'll be doing that next time) he said it was tender with a rich savory sauce. Presentation on all of the plates was clean and appealing, exactly what you hope for at a place called Noodles & Dumplings. Cody took great care of us, provided excellent service and was genuinely a delight. He offered some great recommendations and made our visit feel surprisingly personal, even while the restaurant was clearly busy. Everything came out fresh and exactly how we ordered it. A small suggestion I have is that they could really benefit from a dedicated busser to help clear tables faster, for a cleaner and more inviting dining room area. It would make the flow even smoother for both staff and guests, especially during peak hours. Other than that, this is a fantastic new location. We were excited to try this place. We were extremely disappointed. Here is a quick summary. Lemon Chicken - Sauce had no flavor, the chicken was so tough, it was like chewing leather. After a few bites, my jaw hurt. Chicken Xiaolongbao - was thick and mostly dough. It was chewing, rather than light and flavorful. There is no burst of chicken broth either because it was mostly dough. Beef & Onion Dumpling - marginally ok. Good flavor, but chewy and oily. Likely fatty meat, which delivers the taste, but not very balanced. Chicken Fried Rice - on theme, very chewy for a dish of rice. Seemed more undercooked, than over cooked. Nutty taste without a hint a chicken flavor. We ordered it to go on Christmas Day, so maybe that had something to do with the poor quality. However for $95 worth of food, we aren't willing to risk trying it again. read more

We came right at opening on Sunday and were seated quickly (party of 6). The service was friendly. Now to the food. Im not including the 10 pages of the menu as you can get those online. I have to say that it was hard not to compare this to high standards such as Din Tai Fung. We all ordered different items from a pretty extensive menu of all you'd except to see in an Asian chain restaurant. The Chilled Sliced Beef Shank was delicious, although heavy on the onions, and gave off pig-ear vibes from other places. The Xiao Lao Bao (combo plate) was delicious and probably one of my favorite dishes. The Hongyu Wontons had a nice chili sauce, but a bit heavy on the salt. The Spicy wonton soup was basically Hongyu Wontons with some delicious broth and next time I'll probably just get that. The combo Hawaiian Fried Rice was delicious and a generous portion. The Singapore Noodles were a flop. I was a bit distracted and ordered them by mistake. If you like noodles seasoned with dry curry powder, you maybe like them, but I prefer my curry in a sauce. The BBQ Bao were satisfactory. May try a different bao next time. TonKu Tsu Ramen was ok, broth was basic and was missing the depth that a good ramen soup usually has. Same with the LanZhou Noodle Soup... basic. Now the real disappointment: the menu included a Sugar Glazed Duck that I got really excited about only to find out that it's not available and there's no telling if it will ever be. Yum! We were so excited for this place to open and it was delicious! Like so good that we didn't take a single picture, whoops! We tried the mix of 4 types of fried dumplings (the veggie tasted like a spring roll but they were all fantastic), and the combo pork/chicken soup dumplings (sooooo yummy! Most of the food items are overpriced for the portion size it offer, flavor is slightly over salty and slightly better than most of the American Chinese fast food chain out there. Let me start by saying that the service in the ambience of this restaurant were really great. Our server seemed to be super attentive to us. She would come by every so often to ask how we were doing if we needed anything and to give us an update on our food, which we expected on a Saturday evening for it to be packed and for food to be kind of behind just solely based on the fact that this restaurant is fairly new. I also would like to say that this restaurant was freezing cold so much so that out of the four other tables that surrounded us every single one of them, including us did make some comment in one way or another to a server to say how cold it was so if you come here, bring a jacket. I do, however, want to stay that the noodle soup and the soup dumplings we're just OK in my opinion. The soup dumplings felt like they could've used some more flavor in them, but overall the dumpling the texture everything about it was a solid six out of 10. My spicy noodle soup, though I have many questions on why there was sliced of tomato why there was chickpeas and why it was not spicy to any degree or level. I'm a woman who can handle my spice but when I tell you that it was not spicy at all just the color of it was changed. I absolutely mean it. Also, this was a combination noodle soup and the chicken beef and shrimp that were all in my noodle soup all tasted very bland like they cooked it separately placed it in separate separately and put no other seasonings on them. it's sad to say that the best thing that I had for dinner out of the three things we got was in indeed The spiced edamame. Now normally you would think spiced may mean some form of seasoning obviously like salt or something we know, they meant like a almost garlic sauce with maybe some dashes of soy sauce. It was delicious. However, overall, my food experience there. I unfortunately probably if I were to go back there it would definitely be to try one of the mini entrées that I saw at other tables that looked delicious but now I'm questioning the seasoning in the cooked level of them. I just ordered the soup dumplings and did an in-store pick-up via Door Dash. Took a bite of the second soup dumpling and bit into a hard piece of plastic. (It looks like a piece of a spatula maybe) Drove back up to the restaurant to let the manager know what happened and ask them to remake the order, and the manager Caleb said there's nothing he can do about it and to take it up with Door Dash. I wasn't asking for a refund. I wasn't wanting compensation. The food was disgustingly bland and what's worst, when I asked our server to speak with the manager she informed us that she was the manager. She complained to me that the reason she did a bad job was because she was having to do the duties of an actual manager of an establishment. This restaurant according to her has been open for a month and she is only helping out. She made every excuse as to why we received poor service and wanted us to be ok with her being busy rather getting us a server who would be able to provide us table service.
