The cleaning literally only takes "minutes" the dentist goes so fast on each tooth and it's a total joke. I felt it wasn't worth $99. Then they give you a dental treatment plan and mine was $10,000. The office also charges a "BOOKING FEE of $200 or they won't book you a follow appointment UNLESS you pay.They never told me it a NON REFUNDABLE FEE! Conclusion to previous review of awful experience ...I count myself lucky that the next day Dr. Thapa was no longer out sick and was able to fit me in to properly and correctly get it set (unlike Dr. Bhogal's!). When I called to tell them about it and to make an appointment to correct it, I was very prepared to be adamant that I will NOT have Dr. Bhogal do it again and I will wait for Dr. Thapa; I would rather wait days until she's better than to give him another chance. Though at this point, I'm sure when he learned of it, he would shy away with his tail tucked in between his legs and just have Dr. Thapa do it; or if he's forced to, he would do it with a reluctant attitude and superficial superiority. In the end, the seemingly pushiness & insistence (from profit driven), the incompetence or just plain underhanded greed that on TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS to charge over $2000 for a $700 procedure until *I* questioned it (who knows what would have happened if I didn't and just went with it), the dismissiveness & rush-job from the practice's principle & named dentist Dr. Bhogal that led what was supposed to be a "permanent" crown popping off later that night; there's nothing redeemable about this practice! -- outside-of/save Dr. Thapa. I would rate this 0 out of 5 stars, but because I can't, I guess I would reluctantly 1 out of 5 stars, but that wouldn't be fair to Dr. Thapa, so I just as reluctantly must rate it 2 out of 5... I would like to give a special thanks to Ritchell for making me feel comfortable and checking to see if I was okay during my whole visit. Aggressive and money hungry! Lacking in customer service skills. Several of my phone calls were taken on the road or at home... lots of background noise, in addition to not being prepared to take a phone call. Questions regarding coverage was met with hostility. I was told my copay would be $1203.58. I stated I'm sure that's incorrect... received attitude. I told them I'd follow up with my provide. They called me back said there was an error my co-pay will be $700.59. After being contacted by my carrier. My co-pay was actually $112.00. They were very cold up on my visit. In addition I have extreme anxiety at the dentist. Informed them of this. It seemed like they made a joke of the situation. If I didn't have to come back for the second half of the treatment I would not. This is my last visit here. Terrible parking too! read more

Over the holidays my dad developed a terrible toothache and we couldn't find a dentist that could see him right away; dentist were either fully booked or closed and on vacation. Norcal Dental Group saw my dad ASAP, performed an abstraction and set him up for an implant. Because of my dad's positive experience I decided to come here for my yearly check up. I have since had a deep cleaning, regular cleaning, and today had a cavity filled at this practice. The staff is friendly and professional. My dentist was outstanding, she had a very gentle hand. Dentist generally make me anxious, but the staff and comfortable vibe of this office make me feel relaxed. I would highly recommend Norcal Dental Group. read more

MONEY. GRAB. Two words to describe my first patient visit. I recently transitioned insurance policies and was due for my routine cleaning before years end, so I was happy to have found this office with almost 5 stars that could accommodate me so quickly (same week). Check-in was great, receptionist was very friendly, front of office looked good... it wasn't until I got to the back that I realized what a facade it was. You can tell this is not a private office run by its doctors, this is likely corporate owned and the doctors simply work there. I think it's important to mention there are NO private rooms/spaces - a glass door for mandatory CBCT scan (which thankfully I was told we are not charged for), and the exam "rooms" are a small hall of chairs separated by a computer screen and X-ray arm. I by no means think I have perfect teeth, however, I am routine about my cleanings since switching providers (thus why I booked this end of the year cleaning). The doctor "came in" (walked up to my chair) and immediately tells me I need to have all FOUR wisdom teeth removed. This was a major shock for me being that it was NEVER a concern with my previous Dr (who owned his own office so if he wanted to milk me for my money, he could've tried). Next, he tells me I have 4 bad cavities that require fillings TODAY... again.. NEVER a concern with my previous doctor who I just saw earlier this year! Aside from this being a complete shock to me, I had only blocked off one hour from work to come to this appointment since it was just supposed to be a routine cleaning. They tried to push having my wisdom teeth, fillings and deep cleaning all done today ($5100 AFTER insurance - my out of pocket max is $2500....). I drove myself and was limited on time so there was no way I could get anything major done that day, I let them know I would only be doing the deep cleaning today and then I get told that someone will be in to numb me. Again, complete shock to me, so I ask how long everything will take and they tell me upwards of an hour.. I let them know I wouldn't be able to do it today because of work and that I would book everything once I return from my holiday and work trip (leaving next day) and they're insisting I need to get the deep cleaning and/or fillings today. Btw.. for the deep cleaning I was still being told that would be $110 even though my insurance covers ALL cleanings 100% (I double checked). I had to continue to push back that I couldn't accommodate today due to time/work and that I would call to make an appt as soon as I was sure about a date (I travel a lot for work). I couldn't even checkout from my appt without giving them a date, I almost wanted to walkout and come to find out I could've because they confirmed I didn't owe anything for my appt. Anything medical is so personal & so for it to feel so transactional was very disappointing. If I still lived in Southern California I would 100% switch back to my original provider. Lengthy review, but I wanted to make sure I voiced my opinion since my appt was so upsetting, hopefully there are changes internally to improve. *Final comment: the DH did not properly sanitize the CBCT machine before OR after having me redo my imaging. I've been going to Dr. Bhogal's wife, Dr. Dhillon to get Botox for a year now (her and her skin care line are fabulous!!). When I mentioned in my appointment with her I needed some dental work, she got me in for an appointment that same day! I had not been to the dentist in many, many years and let them know I have really bad anxiety issues. They treated me with the upmost gentle and thorough care. Dr. Bhogal discussed my treatment plan with Dr.Zena and I. Dr. Zena stayed late into the night after closing to do an incredible job fixing the chip in my front tooth and filling several cavities. They also sent me home with teeth whitening trays. All truly life changing!!! Shout out to their dental assistant Monal, she always makes me feel so comfortable and makes an effort to say hi to me/ask me how I'm doing every time I'm there. This is the best one stop shop for amazing dental work and dermatology. I have since moved to Fremont but will continue driving over to Hayward for the excellent care they provide. I'd first like start this review by saying that I appreciate every staff member at this office. Everyone took such good care of my 93 year old grandmother. Every member was friendly and patient with her. We never once had to wait to be seen in her 3 trips to this office, at her age that means so much . My grandma was in dire need of new top dentures and decided to have the bottom teeth extracted as well . From the first day they took great care of her and got her in asap. I'm talking the next day! That part alone was pretty amazing. They want you to feel your best as soon as possible and yhats something you pick up on right away. Dr. Rajvir is a remarkable professional who cares about his patients. Both offices were really nice looking and very modern. Makes you feel good to walk into an office like this one. Okay...so here's the deal. I haven't been to the dentist in...well...let's just call it, quite some time. It was due mainly to the fact I didn't have dental insurance and then I waited so long I was petrified to go and face reality. I had a broken tooth and I couldn't put it off anymore. I found NorCal Dental Group through my insurance, and when I saw all of their spectacular reviews I decided if I have to go, this seems like the place to go. When I called to make an appointment the girl that answered the telephone was extremely professional and had a sweet and caring demeanor. She was able to get me in the next day. I went in expecting the worst. The office was modern chic with an open concept. It was clean, Covid compliant, and I felt extremely comfortable and safe being there. The check in process was easy... I think it was. I can't really recall since I was so nervous. Lol. I met Dr. Bhogal's assistant and he was wonderful and made me feel at ease. When I met Dr. B he was so professional and down to earth. He reviewed my x-rays and helped design a personal treatment plan. Even with insurance it was more than I could afford at this time, so he helped me break it down and prioritize it for me. To make a long story even longer, I ended up getting a root canal. SURPRISE! I heard so many horror stories about root canals and how painful they are. In all honesty it was only uncomfortable a couple times when they numbed the area. After that I didn't feel any pain. They doctor would periodically check in with me to make sure I wasn't in pain. I was so impressed with the way the doctor and his assistant worked in tandem throughout the procedure. The Dr. was so thorough with his work. I felt that he genuinely cared about helping me. Once he was finished his assistant gave me post-op care instructions and made sure I didn't have any questions. Every single person I encountered in the office was amazing! I used to manage medical practices and I know how hard it is to find a strong team, and Dr. B has accomplished that. I will definitely be coming back and referring everyone I know. Two other big pluses: they accept Care Credit. They will be happy to assist you with your application. Also, if you're a fan of injectables and skin treatments, Dr. B's wife works in the adjoining suite and provides different cosmetic treatments. Oh, and they play good music. read more

Super pleased at my wisdom teeth removal I had to get to all 4 extracted. The dr had explained the procedure and costs of everything in detail, I was super comfortable with everything and he had answered all my questions. I was glad that I didn't have to wait weeks to get it done and was scheduled very quickly for the following day after my initial appointment. I arrived and was greeted pleasantly went to the back and got started on the gas. He came in did a quick swab of where the injections were going to get it ready and numb. 10 minutes later he got to work and I didn't feel a THING! I didn't even realize he was done it was so quick. Not in a rushing though type of quick but quick and precise! It was the best dental experience I've had. I would highly recommend over and over! read more

BEWARE- predatory dentists do exist & this may be one. TRUST YOUR GUT! My husband and I recently moved to the area & wanted to find a nearby dentist for bi-annual cleanings. I've had the same amazing dentist in Alameda since 2015 but desire to support my local economy as much as I can. As an advocate for social justice & teacher, this review is simply a means to warn others and suggest being careful and cautious when engaging in healthcare. After getting checked in, I underwent 2 different types of x-rays- the first type I had never seen. Then the dentist comes in (before my cleaning occurred) and starts digging with the sharp tool almost as if he was trying to create pain for me. He stated I had several cavities that needed to be addressed and that the stains on my teeth "looked like stains but were actually large cavities." They then quoted me a price that I would need to pay that was a little over $400. My instincts kicked in and I immediately knew this was bull. I've had an amazing dentist for 6 years who has never once mentioned a cavity of any kind my last appointment being in February. I also have had sealants on my back teeth for some time which the dentist seemed to almost be trying to dig up on my right side. I asked him about this and asked how long did he believe these cavities had been in a existence due to their size and he seemed a little irritated by the question and unable to answer. I then asked for the procedure to stop especially after a sharp pain I felt from the sharp digging tool & I wanted to call my dentist. The asst. asked me twice to take some additional pictures before I made the phone call (something else they could bill my insurance for) and I stated no twice. I called my dentist & they said they said they could get me in the next week & would discuss the findings. They asked me to send them the X-rays. I went back in told them I had concerns and wanted to end my appointment but wanted the X-rays emailed. (My Insurance only covers x-rays twice per year so this is why the request was made.) They stated the email would cost $35. Ridiculous given they were getting money from insurance for the two types of X-rays they had already taken. I've never heard of this! The Asst asked if he could take pics again (abnormally pushy) and I said no. I had a ton of pain on the right side of my mouth that day due to the dentist's probing by sealants... in my opinion trying to create an issue that didn't exist. I had my dentist appointment with my regular dentist yesterday. She pulled up their X-rays and they stated they could not read them because they were blurry & would need to do a couple of new ones at no charge to me. So how in the hell did the dentist here see cavities on a blurry X-ray output?! Ridiculous. My dentist cleaned my teeth and did a thorough check- ZERO CAVITIES. And the ONE SMALL stain she saw on a back tooth she explained as likely occurring while my tooth was developing as a child. She also stated my sealants were still in good condition and did not see anything. They polished and flossed me up and my teeth felt amazing- NO PAIN. This feels like a predatory dental practice that will stack up what they can bill by completing a ton of different x-rays & pics that aren't necessary, create fake dental issues- even harm you, & then charge you $35 to send a copy of your blurry x-rays if additional care is needed. Be careful, trust your gut, and get a 2nd opinion. read more

Great work. Friendly, caring staff. Very accommodating. I became a patient 4 yrs ago. Moved to Sacramento 3 yrs ago. Needless to say; the dental treatment, patient care, and variety of service's offered/received is definitely worth the drive. When scheduling/rescheduling appts. they are always friendly and accommodating. Recently, midmorning on a Sunday I had a severe toothache & possible infection. I called to leave a msg. Asking to be seen asap the next day. Within mins I got a call back, was told the dentist could see me that day, & later was able to start antibiotics for the pain & infection. It was nice to know that they cared about getting me out of pain and stopping the infection more then they cared about taking time out of there day off seeing as it was a dental emergency. read more

Let me start by saying that if you need a dentist this is the place for you. Going to the dentist is scary, it's been a horrible and traumatic experience for me since I've been a child up to adulthood. As an adult I've gone to the dentist with major pain or discomfort and the original issue is not resolved immediately. The last dental office I went to before this office worked on my cavities and cleaning before they addressed my issue. They made me feel unseen and unheard. Not here, both Dr. Bhogal and the lady dentist (I didn't get her name) gave me the best dental experience I've ever had. The office is STUNNING, modern, clean and the staff is especially lovely, attentive and courteous. As I received my oral anesthesia the tech was assisting was so comforting and sweet to me, her bedside manner was nothing I have ever experienced. I left wanting to hug her . This is a real review. I went in to establish a new dentist. Dr Bohgal looked at my teeth and said I needed a deep cleaning. He asked if there was anything I didn't like about my teeth and I said no. A female dentist came in and did my deep cleaning. I do not recommend this dentist at all! While she was nice, she was very quirky and seemed scattered. She was very aggressive with the numbing shots and the hurt like hell! She "over" numbed my right side with about EIGHT shots to inject numbing agent. My body was so tense, I should've left! I was worried she used too much and my throat was going to go numb like the tips of my nose did. When she numbed the left side she realized she numbed the right too much and did about six shots. My mouth was so numb I couldn't close my lips for the saliva to be suctioned. She was also talking to herself and said "oh no" out loud, then said "it's not you, I was just thinking of something else" "I have to watch what I say around patients!" Another red flag!! Over 24hrs later and my whole jaw and chin area is still very sore from the over numbing. Last night I had to take an 800 ibuprofen for the pain that had nothing to do with my gums that had the minor deep cleaning. She also couldn't work the chair and kept pushing me up when I needed to go down. She stood during the whole procedure which I thought was odd. But I was in a small room that didn't have space for the dentist to sit. The water tool also needed to be refilled during the procedure bc it wasn't hooked up to a sink. I do not recommend this place. read more
