I used to enjoy shopping at Nordstrom and usually found something I liked to buy Not so much lately. Went today and saw a blouse on sale that I liked. All the fitting rooms were locked and I had to roam the floor for quite awhile to find someone to unlock one. I chose to buy the blouse and was charged $25 more than the tag. The saleswoman said that was the sale price and the sale ended yesterday and the tag wasn't changed. yet I told her she should stand behind the price on the tag and this wasn't very good customer relations to charge me more than the ticketed price. I guess I could have called a supervisor and fought this but I was frustrated and left without the blouse. If this is how they treat customers, no wonder they are having trouble. read more

Came in to pick up my online order which, the girls working was really sweet. It was pretty easy, just showed them my order number and picked up My package. Holiday wrapped for free. Also, one of them even gave me and another customer waiting to Pick up their order a complimentary hot chocolate card at the cafe. That was sweet. First walking into the store, it was quite mellow. Not busy at all. After picking up my order as one would do, browse. Clearly there's loads of things that I wanted. I don't know what the procedure is with getting a job here, but some of the employees has no idea on anything. Asked some of the employees if they had a certain item and they clearly had no idea what I was talking about. Your in a department store during the holiday. But everyone that I've encountered were very friendly. Greeted me and asked if I needed anything or help with anything. And they didn't hound you and followed you. Which does make a shopping experience pretty nice. Of course, it was pretty mellow and quiet. Not much were out shopping. I did notice a good amount of people did just do online order and pick up. I'm actually glad it took me so long to write this review for the purchases I made this day. I've worn everything . The dress was amazing definitely a five star dress. Now the other purchases I bought this day were Shapeware. Skims I got the biker shorts that go up to your bra and three different types of underwear's. Somehow I came home with every size. Weirdly they all fit. But none of them would stay up. They felt so comfortable until I started walking around in them. Maybe you have to have a small waist line but that's Why I usually buy Shapeware because I don't Ha ! Amazing in the mirror and at home. Definitely didn't pass the test for walking around. I was in the 3rd Floor womens sports section and i approached the counter and was waiting For my wife and baby following me with a stroller, so the lady at the counter seemed african american, didnt get her name unfortunately, was counting cash money all over the counter spread out, so unsual practice, she said sr can you step aside and move to the other sidd where the line is in a very aggresive Manner and tone, came off so rude and i said i am Actually waiting standing here so my wife can follow and see me through all the clothing and all to come to me with the baby and see where i am, and shes like oh Let me know if u need anything but again please there is the line can you go over there and wait again seemed annoyed by me standing there, basically she was so rude and then while approaching the other lady at the other side of the counter she seemed like put off by me too just because of the encounter i had with the other lady, anyway this type of service and approach to your customers is unxeceptable and i never expierenced such rude service in this nordstrom so far, the first lady should Be fired for sure and the second can do better at being nice and not annoyed. Came in on the first day of the Anniversary Sale with my little granddaughter. Searched high and low in the women's dept near Caslon for a sales person, granted the store was busy. Couldn't find anyone so took my clothing to the dressing room and waited for a room. One of the sales ladies there asked if anyone was helping me and I said no, so she tells me I have to wait for a room to open. We wait. After trying on clothing I ask the same sales person if she can help me and she tells me she's too busy. Alrighty then, I get in line and I hear that same person complaining about how her throat hurts and how she's so overwhelmed. I'm thinking, stay home if your sick and if you're overwhelmed, maybe you need an attitude adjustment. We, the customers, are your job security. Then we go to the shoe department. Same issue, associates are too busy to help. I finally get one, request my size and she tells me she will be right back. About 10 min later, she returns, all the shoe styles I requested are brought in a 1/2 size too small. She tells me one can be ordered, so I say ok and she takes off. Twenty minutes later she's no where to be found, so we leave. Once home, I make my shoe order on line. Nordstrom's has always set the standard for customer service. As a former Nordstrom employee myself I know what the Nordstrom standards are for customer service. For some reason this location, specifically the women's clothing area 2nd floor (madewell/Good American) section, I was walking around browsing, looked directly at about 5 employees who were all just standing around having personal conversations, they looked at me and turned around and continued to talk to each other, then another 2 employee standing and texting and also chatting to each other didn't even bother moving from the clothing displays, as if I literally did not exist! This is really disappointing that this location would hire such people who clearly don't care about work, don't work in customer service if your completely rude and incompetent!!! I asked for a pair and then when the first guy was gone (larger in size, stands tall, brown hair) - i asked a question to another employee who was around (seemed like the manger, had on a red paid shirt) but he ended up getting me another pair i asked about. The first guy got so mad and started talking about how I have to only talk to one person due to commission. I have bought from Nordstroms before in another state and due to always being helped immediately and quickly I was not aware of this. Nor is it my job to know the functioning of each department stores payout process. To wrap up, after trying on a couple pairs - I said thank you for helping me, I did not like any. (Even though i wanted to try on more, but his comments made me uncomfortable) He completely ignored me and did not say a word. I was very disappointed in this service and will absolutely never come back to this location. This is a review for "Lata" from the Baby Gear & Essentials Department. Simply fantastic. She went above to ensure that our car seat shopping experience was fantastic. We were looking for a Nuna car seat and couldn't decide between the Rava and the Exec. Only one lady worked in the department, and she was busy assisting another couple with stroller buying. She never said hello to us (despite though I was only 2 feet away), never offered to say "I'll be right with you," and never acknowledged us. I noticed she spent about 30 minutes with the other Chinese couple, hard selling and finding out they opted to "Think about it" LOL!!! So I went to a desk and sought for help with a car seat from one of the personnel. This 4'9 lady walked in with her arms wide open, ready to answer any questions we had. She provided us space to consider our options and the patience to discuss which Nuna car seat would be best for our daughter's future. We decided to go with the Nuna Rava in hopes to purchasing the Nuna booster seat in the future. Lata was like a personal shopper for us. She carried the car seat down to the first floor, through the hordes of other consumers, and out to the valet area, where we awaited our truck. I understand that good customer service does not come naturally to everyone. When I do acknowledge good customer service, I give them a gift as a thank you because she didn't have to go above and beyond. As a thank you, I gave her a $50 tip. I'm sure it's a commission-based position, but the lady is genuinely enthusiastic about her work. She wasn't in a hurry at all. read more

I love this store. I've been coming here for years and I always find cool things here. It seems like their management and team have been making some changes, but not good ones. Some of their employees seem to lack professionalism, as well as the manager, Wendy. I was waiting in line when I heard her speak to a customer with a tone that was irritating to listen to. The manager spoke to her as if she were incompetent. It is important to speak to customers with respect to ensure people want to come back to shop at the store. It also avoids creating a negative experience in a place where we are meant to relax & shop till we drop. Oh and the dressing rooms are disgusting. I bought Valentino shoes a few months ago for my daughter's wedding that happened last Saturday. I never wore the shoes but bottom of the shoes has scratches. I guess I purchased it like that, but never paid attention to it. I really return stuff I buy but I know I won't wear this shoes. The store manager refused to return it accusing me of lying. To the Chanel handbag boutique on Level 1 of Topanga. I am appalled at how the customer service team handled my mother today. She tried to return a handbag because she felt it was forced on her during the purchase and didn't like how it looked. The sales associate named AUGUST who she purchased the handbag with, was the same sales associate who refused her return. Guess it was an issue of commission for her huh? My mother asked to speak to the manager and August laughed in her face, told her she cannot speak to the manager and kicked her out of the store. I really hope that this had nothing to do with my moms thick Ukrainian accent, and hope there was no prejudice because of that, however August made it very clear that my moms voice is laughable and amusing to her. My mother broke down crying at the register right in front of Chanel, the security team and Nordstrom sales manager were kind enough to assist her and bring her water to calm her down. She had a nervous breakdown and could not stop crying for 45 minutes. I took my mom to urgent care because of her high blood pressure, filed a formal complaint with Chanel in regards to August's disgusting behavior, and Chanel of Beverly Hills was kind enough to assist us with the return. This is one of my favorite Nordstrom locations on Southern California. It's pretty big and has a lot of name brands as well as high end designers, a lot of brand new trending stuff that you can't even find online. Most Nordstroms I've been to are pretty limited, but this one is great! Besides having a great selection of designer brands for shoes and bags, they also have little boutiques for Chanel and such. I think the only other one I've really enjoyed is the one in Beverly Hills and Costa Mesa. New great thing is that Nordstrom accepts Afterpay now, so if you have the app, you can make purchases up to like $2,000 in 4 payments which is freaking amazing, yet also very dangerous you can literally get a new pair of shoes or a nice wallet and pay it in 4! Doesn't affect your credit either which is awesome. For those who don't know yet, any Nordstrom, you can get things personalized, altered and tailored, and also gift wrapped! They really take care of you at Nordstrom which is why it's been my fav department store since I was like 16. I also like eating at their restaurant. Good quality is pretty good and they have alcoholic drinks too! read more

I have always felt like Nordstrom had great customer service and always set the bar very high when it came to service, but I felt extremely disrespected today when I came in for a tailoring appointment. The woman working to get my pants hemmed barely even tried to explain to me that I needed a Nordstrom credit card in order to get the free tailoring and sighed while rolling her eyes and had another associate explain to me. There's no need to be rude to customers who are trying to understand Nordstrom's poorly worded website. And I am almost out of my tried, tested and true Lancome Absolue Skincare and Fae from Lancome assisted me with everything! Although the store didn't have what I wanted, a set of Absolue, Fae was able to order it online and have it delivered! I take skin care seriously so I definitely recommend Absolue by Lancome. It may be advertised for more mature skin but it's one of the few skin care products that have shown me proven results in improving my skin on all levels. Wow...I promise I have no affiliation with the brand. I just love it that much. Walked in to Chanel inside this Nordstrom. It's quite small and selections are few and minimal, so I don't know if I'd necessarily come back here but I was able to find a perfect sized wallet that I hadn't seen in the Chanel Boutiques prior. I usually get a brand new item from the back but this wallet was the only one they had and I didn't want to go through the trouble of looking elsewhere. I actually don't remember the gal's name because I literally spent 5-10 min max here before making my purchase and heading out. This is honestly, the first time I remembered most of the sales associate's name. I've frequented this Nordstrom many times and they carry a wide variety of designers. Service has always been good but today was rather exceptional. Plenty of parking! Great selections and fully staffed so help is usually nearby. Great shopping experience all around. read more

Nordstrom Topanga provided me with a damaged product, but when I attempted to return it, they declined, offering instead to repair the damage. Given the significant cost of the item, I preferred to return it. This seems to be a recurring issue, based on other reviews, where items are damaged in the process of packaging in the back and then refused for return. I'd strongly advise avoiding this store to save yourself the frustration. Tasha - Copying and pasting the same response on every single negative review and adds zero value. However, it 100% aligns with the fact that Nordstrom and specifically Nordstrom Topanga now has a horrible reputation for all aspects of the business. Congratulations on being consistent. read more

I'd give zero stars if I could. I purchased a pair of Nordstrom-brand boots for $129 that completely changed color -- and they've never even been worn. When I tried to return them, the store only offered me $38. Store Manager Brandy and Men's Manager Jaime were extremely unhelpful and dismissive. Brandy even claimed there was "nothing they could do," which contradicts Nordstrom's usual return policy, where they accept returns regardless of condition (with the exception of designer items). Store was very clean and organized, and dressing rooms were empty / clean. -1 star because when I got to the register both gals were on their phones. I nicely asked them if the register was open (I assumed maybe they were on break) and they shot me a rude look and said yes it's open and continued texting. Phones at work aren't a huge deal to me but I didn't like how they dismissed me .. anyway, once Nancy came to the register to assist me, she was amazing.
