I ordered a caramel iced latte, and it was delicious, smooth, refreshing, and exactly what I was looking for. But what really made my visit memorable was the hospitality. The owner was incredibly friendly, and we ended up striking up a conversation. During our conversation, we discovered that we're both originally from New York and both small business owners, which made for such a nice and unexpected connection. He was genuinely kind and welcoming, and interactions like that are one of the things I appreciate most about supporting local businesses. I also really enjoyed the atmosphere. The space was relaxed and quiet without feeling empty. There were people enjoying their food and drinks, working on their laptops, and simply settling in for a while. It felt like the kind of neighborhood coffee shop where you can grab a great drink, get some work done, have a meeting, or just enjoy some peaceful time to yourself. Great coffee, warm hospitality, and a comfortable environment made this a wonderful find. Once I let it cool, it had a citrus taste, but not sweet. I am still glad to have tried it and did not have to wait long for the order. Within a block of leaving the business, while holding the hot cup with one hand (the sleeve only helped a little), some of the hot tea spilled on me suddenly (I now have a burned scar on my knuckle). I don't know if the cover was on right, or if my movements made the top come off. I couldn't blame anyone. I did go back and had them replace the top since the other fell on the ground outside. The shop is very cute and it has a lot of stuff on the walls to look at, it even has a vintage coffee grinder in the back near the back entrance. But, this bakery has only gotten better with age. It looks like a little French bistro with the red brick walls and counters full of breads and baked goods. Service was great. The gentleman who waited on us was very nice. I bought a chocolate croissant. It was rich and buttery filled with delicious layers of chocolate. I also ordered an apple turnover. The crust was melt in your mouth delicious. And, the apple filling was superb. Lastly, I ordered a cannell. It was rich and sweet and so delicious. So, each of my three desserts were amazing.
