Horrible Nordstrom at Americana Mall Pasadena!! Unfortunately, the employees and Manager at Cosmetics area are Extremely rude and unhelpful. Furthermore, would not even accept a return with Nordstrom receipt of a purchase just made at there at their department.Overall, the store has limited select and is very small. Why have pick up option if it's gonna take 2-5 hours? Wouldn't you do a pick up for the simple fact of convenience? Like I should be able to run in and out and grab my stuff. Girl working the pick up counter was rude and low key condescending. I always, every time I do pick up walk in before I even get an email saying it's ready and I get my stuff easily. They'll go and grab it. This time they let me know there were several people ahead of me and that I would have to wait at least 2 hours. LOL. But it was the way I was told like she couldn't be bothered with me. I said okay and got dinner. Totally inconvenient to me but whatever. Then after 2 hours I came back to grab my stuff. It was ONE item. Then her coworker who was standing there before was pissy about grabbing it too. lol. Then let me know it's 2-5 hours usually. HUH????????? If I'm THERE to pick up my stuff what's the issue? Go grab it or better yet I can and u can just scan it. Wouldn't you prioritize the customer that's actually there to pick it up??? I was in the perfume area , looking for some wishlist , saw at least four salespeople , just chitchatting among themselves and no clue that a customer needed help . Disclaimer: Way back in the day, I used to work for Nordie's and I know that they go out of their way to hire personable and well-groomed people. I do very much like this location in the Americana. It doesn't feel like a department store, wedged in as it is between other high-end stores. I'm on a mailing list that gives me early morning (pre-opening) access to their beauty events where their experts bring in brand ambassadors from the top cosmetic, skincare and fragrance lines and they have tons of samples and prize giveaways. There's even good coffee and tea served along with yogurt, fruit and granola parfaits (waiting for you on ice, bien sûr!) These happen about twice a year and the last one was hosted by Devon, manager of fragrance & Erica, manager of medical skincare lines. Very rude customer service received from the only male sales clerk in the women's perfume dept. All I wanted was to purchase a certain sized bottle. Online it said it was available for pick up. He found a size in storage below, quoted me a different price, I politely asked why it was less online, and he simply said if you want it at the price just purchase it online, it's this price here in store and walked away. Main reason why I usually purchase online anyway is because of situations like this. Totally unnecessary and uncalled for. I'm not from this area and he gives the impression that people like me are not welcome in this store. I was at Nordstrom on Saturday August 10, 2024. I was grabbing items at the Anastasia of BH. The lady working there helped me, when I asked if they have services for brows she said yes. We looked at the schedule and eventually able to get an appointment on Friday August 16, 2024 @11:00 am. Last night I received a text confirming my appointment. I left during lunch to get my services. No one was at the station, I asked other employees. Eventually someone approached me stating they don't have anyone to do services. He is the person that made my shopping experience Very intimate and special, I am a blue collared type of guy that doesn't really do this kind of shopping. I had an event to attend in Mexico City, when I walked in someone suggested I talk to him. He immediately took action, and picked me out a great suit with shoes and belt to match. I had the unfortunate need to return something I was not happy with. I figured it would be better to return the item in-store. BIG MISTAKE!!! I walked into the first level and was informed I had to go to the second level. I then go to the second level and wait in line. I observed a man who was helping with pick-up orders. The man helping with pick-up orders, "Michael," eventually helped me. Michael is unbelievably sarcastic and condescending. It's as though the item you're returning is coming out of his paycheck. I went into Nordstrom this afternoon to sample and possibly purchase the new re-release of a Tom Ford Fragrance by the name "Azure Lime" upon entering the fragrance section I quickly came across a display for the fragrance with a sample bottle. Upon picking up the bottle to spray some on my wrist I noticed the bottle was empty. Hmmm no problem I'll just walk over to the Tom Ford section and I'm sure that they'll have a sample bottle. We'll upon walking up tp that area I quickly saw and reached for the sample bottle and it was also empty. An older gentleman whom works there regularly in the women's fragrance department walked over and asked if we needed any assistance. I replied with a " Yes" and proceeded to let him know that I was interested in sampling this particular scent before possibly purchasing. He was quick to answer with a " NO!!" And stated that they unfortunately had no more samples available. I replied with a " well how is a customer suppose to purchase a fragrance without sampling it first ? " He just shrugged his shoulders and didn't offer any more support. I almost walked out of the store at that point but then thought of walking over to the other end of the store to the Mens Fragrance section which is usually low with foot traffic. Upon arriving there my partner saw that they had sealed bottles of the fragrance but no sample bottle in sight. Just when I was about to give up, Jasmine an employee in this section walked over and offered help. We informed her of what we were looking for and she said " I got you " and returned quickly with a sample bottle of the fragrance. She was the nicest most helpful employee we came across the entire fragrance sections. She was helpful, very real and approachable and when we told her about our experience and that other section of the store she kinda hinted that other customers have shared similar experiences. She gave us the bottle to spray ourselves and was very knowledgeable about the fragrance and the line. When I mentioned to her that we needed to walk around and let the fragrance settle before committing to a purchase since the Tom Ford line is a bit on the pricey side she totally understood . After visiting other department sections of Nordstrom we walked back and purchased 2 fragrances from Jasmine , she also provide us with samples and lovely gift wrapping that we had requested. If you are ever looking for a fragrance at this location please so see Jasmine !! I know that my future fragrance purchases will be from jasmine and managers if you are reading this give Jasmine a raise and get your other fragrances employees on check !! Ohh the best part is that after we made our purchases the fragrances did come in a Tom Ford bag which we made sure to flaunt to the other employees in the women's section as we casually walked by and made sure they noticed our bags. So I am a fan of Nordstrom. Which is funny because I'm as frugal as they come. But over the years I've learned to appreciate excellence in service and this place is spot on with excellence! Staff is attentive but not pushy. Store is clean and energetic. Everything feels so balanced here. I once got a robe that they forgot to take off the security tag (not sure how it made it out of the store, but...) and I called them up and they sent a concierge to my house to remove the tag. EXCELLENT! They have a great return policy. Parking is ample and they even have a car detail company in the parking garage if you're a multi-tasker with bottomless pockets. (Yea that's not me.... But seems there are plenty of people who are by the work going on). Lots of great gift options, a large well lit makeup and fragrance section. Good times! read more

Love this location. It's a rather small location but it's very clean, organized and staffed with some good employees. I usually shop here for beauty stuff since their clothing department is not very big but again sometimes you find great collections. This review is for the curbside pick up currently being offered due to COVID-19. The process was super easy and convenient. I placed an order around 7 pm on a Wednesday night and I got an email notification that my order was ready for pick up the next day at around 9:30 am. You literally just drive up the first alley off Colorado St. Once you drive up, you will see the side entrance of Nordstrom. Just click "I'm here" on the app and someone will walk out with your order. I waited maybe 2-3 minutes. Superfast. Once you get your order you just drive up and through the Americana and you are able to make a right to on Brand and be on your way. I would highly recommend curbside pick up! read more

Visited 2/12/2016 I don't normally shop here, but I came here to purchase something off the registry for the bridal shower I'm going to on Saturday. First of all, what I found out is that it is not your typical bridal registry, it was a wish list. Secondly, if you purchase the wish item in the store and not online, the item won't be deducted from the list! I think Nordstrom should fix that issue. I'd like to thank the two women though who helped me with this. They also didn't know that stuff about the wish list. They were helpful and courteous throughout this ordeal. I will start by saying that I have excellent service in the beauty department when I go when it's not busy. I went close to closing time and everyone seemed to be running around and frantic. I wanted one product and called ahead of time about recycling. This was going to be a really nice treat for myself for saving up all my recycling for the Terracycle program Nordstrom participates in. I was told to ask for a person in beauty because I'm dumping my empties and need new stuff! It was hard to find anyone and when I did I was shade marched to a color in a setting powder that another associate recommended as a BRONZER at an earlier date. I was told I was between shades and to try a creme to powder compact or YSL. Not what I wanted at all. I'm not hard to match and know color. Went next door to Sephora and marched myself and bought what I wanted. I am hesitant to return. I love beauty and cosmetics and what was supposed to be a nice shopping experience turned out to be less than an pleasant. I get that people in retail experience burnout and it's COVID. It's a stressful time. I may return at a later date but I remembered why I started shopping at places like Sephora and Ulta where I can grab what I want and go. read more

They are both so knowledgeable - both of their lines and other options in the department - and so supportive and patient. I went to the men's department and was hoping to locate the item I was searching for. I tried asking for assistance from a staff, but it seemed to him I do not exist as he continued to look busy working on the computer unit. I even greeted him good evening just in case, but again was ignored. I always get my shoes and sandals from this store, but, this time it left me with a bad taste. Will be going REI in Burbank instead to get some shoes, I know their staff are always approachable. We were told we can return a rental tux which apparently was misinformed however she clearly didn't want to do her job and help us on how to do it. All she kept saying is NO rudely without an explanation and cutting us off when we were trying to ask her question. She didn't even want to come help took them 15 mins to go find her and after all that was extremely rude lady. Probably the worst Nordstroms ever. More like a Nordstrom Junior, if there was one, with Rookie service. Hubby and I came here yesterday and spoke to a sales person in the Made to Measure men's suit department. I'd rather not disclose his name because I don't want to put him on blast. He was busy at first and when he came to us, he wasn't very helpful or knowledgeable. No measurements were done because this location didn't have the bare suit jackets needed...OK that's fine. He said he'd try to pull it from other stores and call us within a week when he has it. He then pointed out the pricing because we wanted the premier and all we could give were blank stares because we spent an hour here, waiting, not one measurement taken and then given pricing to make sure we could afford it, I guess. So to clarify, Nordstrom sales rep whose name starts with an "A", We never once asked you how much it would cost. It was actually insulting to be told about pricing when nothing was done, measurements were not taken on my husband or any attempt at a fitting was made so you literally spit out nonsense and wasted our time. As soon as we left, I called Topanga Nordstrom in Woodland Hills and asked if they had someone knowledgeable who can measure my husband tomorrow and they got us in and we were able to order a made to Measure premium suit. Husband was measured and all went perfectly Well. Pricing wasn't even shown to us until after measurements were taken, good service provided and then, based on material we chose, a chart of tier pricing was shown to us. Now that's how to do it! The difference in service and professionalism from Glendale to Woodland Hills Nordstrom is Night and Day! I attempted to walk around this location, sunglasses are connected to strings making it impossible to try on shades. One person in the sunglass dept was busy talking so help wasn't offered. Designer selections are few and far between. Women's shoe department is somber. For a shoe lover like myself, this location doesn't offer much. Least the ladies in the beauty department were attentive and helpful but I didn't buy any thing because I was over this whole experience. Understaffed or sales associates no where to be found. It's a smaller nordstrom so that's why I can't knock it down to one star. It's not the ideal location in busy Glendale Americana but this definitely doesn't have that Nordstrom Good customer service that one expects. No thank you. We won't be back. But the experience here led us to the Topanga location where we solidified future business relations with their sales reps in several departments, so thank you for forcing me to look elsewhere! Good amounts of clothing but i cannot get over the fact on how the employees treat people of color. I'm a hispanic in my 20s and i went to Nordstrom the other day and as soon as i went upstairs to the menswear and started looking at clothes, i was being followed or asked if i needed help. I get it's part of their job but i felt discriminated because out of everyone there, the guy was following and asking questions to just me meanwhile there was other people around as well. As soon as i picked up a pair of jeans he came up behind me and just stood there. Felt so discriminated man because this happened EVERY TIME i picked up a piece of clothing. This is the second time this happened and I've only been to this location twice, says a lot. So if you're a POC just order online because they make you feel like you're doing something wrong. Wow! This is practically a brand new Nordstrom and it's HUGE! It's only been open about 6 or 9 months and is clean, well lit, and well stocked! I am not a big shopper, actually, not much of shopper these days at all. This location has a large selection of all the brands you would expect from Nordstrom and then some. I went with the GF and she was impressed with the shoe selection, brands and styles. The best time to buy clothes from Nordstrom in my opinion is during their half-yearly sales where many items are 25% to 33% off retail prices. This Nordstrom has turned into a low class department store. Prior to covid, it was semi pleasant shopping from here, but now? It's an absolute nightmare. Customer service is pretty much nonexistent. The regular employees who used to work here are all gone and you only see new faces who don't know anything about customer service. I went to return a shoe tonight and although there were multiple employees available to help, they all ignored/avoided me. One lady comes over while I am waiting at the counter, helps someone purchase a shoe and just walks away as if I'm not standing there. Another one is standing around in the shoe area staring at me, but refuses to help. I finally flag someone down who is helping another customer. MAC COSMETICS I knew something went wrong when you guys staring at me, some of you even turn your head twice. I was seated on a high chair under a flash of down light waiting for a make-over done by Christina from MAC. Apologetic and polite, Christina managed to dab my face while helping other customers ringing up items. MAC always given me fantastic makeover experiences,so beautiful, it is out of this world. MAC transforms a street passerby into a runway model. Christina was gone for awhile, I got bored returning messages from one app to another, I held up a mirror to look at the progress. I felt being played, abused and ugly-fied. Did I just let an 8 years old put makeup on me? Next thing came to my mind was how to run out of this Nordstrom to get into my car through the shortest route. How to phrase my wordings for Christina to clean up her mess and put some foundation back on for me. I even had to ask for some lipsticks to complete my look I made an appointment for a full make-over and I only got sloppy eye shadows application. I believe Christina was overwhelmed by the under staff and she was not comfortable or unfamiliar with Asian customers. A makeover should be about the customer, make him or her feels great and beautiful. Be fantastic. Not about your day, the lack of staff, or keep apologizing. I managed to use a kleenex to blend out Christina's angry Picasso style brush strokes, but I failed miserably trying to ease up her football player white greasepaint stripes under my eyes.
