Good amounts of clothing but i cannot get over the fact on how the employees treat people of color. I'm a hispanic in my 20s and i went to Nordstrom the other day and as soon as i went upstairs to the menswear and started looking at clothes, i was being followed or asked if i needed help. I get it's part of their job but i felt discriminated because out of everyone there, the guy was following and asking questions to just me meanwhile there was other people around as well. As soon as i picked up a pair of jeans he came up behind me and just stood there. Felt so discriminated man because this happened EVERY TIME i picked up a piece of clothing. MAC COSMETICS I knew something went wrong when you guys staring at me, some of you even turn your head twice. I was seated on a high chair under a flash of down light waiting for a make-over done by Christina from MAC. Apologetic and polite, Christina managed to dab my face while helping other customers ringing up items. MAC always given me fantastic makeover experiences,so beautiful, it is out of this world. MAC transforms a street passerby into a runway model. Christina was gone for awhile, I got bored returning messages from one app to another, I held up a mirror to look at the progress. I felt being played, abused and ugly-fied. Did I just let an 8 years old put makeup on me? Next thing came to my mind was how to run out of this Nordstrom to get into my car through the shortest route. How to phrase my wordings for Christina to clean up her mess and put some foundation back on for me. I even had to ask for some lipsticks to complete my look I made an appointment for a full make-over and I only got sloppy eye shadows application. I believe Christina was overwhelmed by the under staff and she was not comfortable or unfamiliar with Asian customers. A makeover should be about the customer, make him or her feels great and beautiful. Be fantastic. Not about your day, the lack of staff, or keep apologizing. I managed to use a kleenex to blend out Christina's angry Picasso style brush strokes, but I failed miserably trying to ease up her football player white greasepaint stripes under my eyes. This Nordstrom has turned into a low class department store. Prior to covid, it was semi pleasant shopping from here, but now? It's an absolute nightmare. Customer service is pretty much nonexistent. The regular employees who used to work here are all gone and you only see new faces who don't know anything about customer service. I went to return a shoe tonight and although there were multiple employees available to help, they all ignored/avoided me. One lady comes over while I am waiting at the counter, helps someone purchase a shoe and just walks away as if I'm not standing there. Another one is standing around in the shoe area staring at me, but refuses to help. I finally flag someone down who is helping another customer. He asks me with attitude if I am returning a shoe because he was hoping he could turn me away. He was finally forced to help me process this simple return. Most unwelcoming experience ever. This review is long overdue and the location is receiving a 5 star review because of Gohar at the Dior counter. She's amazing! Makes shopping a personal experience. Gohar goes out of her way to find what you need, will text you to remind you for gift time, social events, bonuses, etc... She's put an order together over text messages for me, shipped it to one of my offices in California while I was working in Hawaii! That's how awesome she is. They have great make up selection. Lots of brands to choose from. You have to ask for Gohar from the Dior counter to help you. She's so knowledgeable, patient and helpful in any brand! Here is another 1 star review for this particular Nordstrom. I wish I checked the ratings before coming to this location. This is my story: I have been a loyal customer at Nordstrom as long as I can remember. I have always been satisfied with the service and quality Nordstrom provided to its customers. It is unfortunate that my recent experiences at Nordstrom at the Americana at Brand changed my perception of Nordstrom's customer service. During the Anniversary Sale, I purchased a Hart Schaffner Marx suit from men's department. I had to make 4 visits to get the suit right.  My 1st and 3rd visits in particular ruined my experience because of one employee named, Alex (he has a big beard, hard to miss him). On my first visit, I approached Alex so I could purchase a suit for my father. I am not sure if it is the way I dressed (I was wearing jeans and a tshirt) because he made zero effort to help me find the right suit to gift to my father. He was unwelcoming and aloof to say the least. Some other employee ended up helping me choose the suit.  On my second visit, I brought my father to get his suit altered. The process was smooth and went without a hitch. Alex was not working this day. On my third visit, the most problematic visit, Alex was working again. Good grief. Although, I haven't had a good experience with him from the first visit, I still approached him to pick up the suit. Upon inspecting the alteration, I noticed that the lines on the suit were misaligned. I informed Alex right away. All Alex had to do was to have the tailor fix his/her mistakes as it is not Alex's (salesperson) fault. Instead of apologizing and putting it in the system to get it re-altered, he made one excuse after another in a condescending manner. He actually made an effort to go around the entire suit department trying to find a misaligned jacket to show me that it is okay to take home such product (thank goodness Nordstrom has quality control, as he was unable to prove to me that such product was being sold at Nordstrom). He then gave me a full lecture on "expectation vs reality" telling me that the finished product does not always come out like what I expected (I really just wanted the lines to align on the jacket). Then I waited a long time for the tailor manager to come (who he hoped would side with his opinion/views). However, the tailor manager agreed with me and took back the suit for re-altering. While inputting the alteration in the system, Alex, without prompting, told me that his customer service and attitude isn't great, but without any apology.  It is puzzling why Nordstrom hired Alex. He does not greet a customer with a simple smile. He does not know when to put his ego aside to apologize. He profiles his customers based on how he/she dresses. Alex' incompetence along with his unfriendly/nonchalant demeanor destroyed my impression of Nordstrom. On my fourth visit, Alex was not there. Connie, whom I had never met, greeted me with a smile. When I informed her that I was there to pick up a re-altered suit, she even apologized that I had to come back again.  She demonstrated the kind of service I'm used to and expect from Nordstrom.  It would be a mistake to keep Alex as an employee as I'm sure his subpar service and attitude will turn away many loyal customers in the Glendale area. read more

The service here is terrible. I walked around the kids shoes area for 15 minutes and couldn't get any help. There were no other customers in the area and 2 employees in the kids area and they acted as though I didn't exist. I came to buy a bunch of shoes for my girls but left because I was annoyed. I'll go over to Bloomingdale's where the service is hopefully better. Honestly I can't understand how this business model works. Tons of staff everywhere just standing around talking to each other and not engaging customers. So lame. Service at Nordstrom has become hot or miss over the last few years. The manager here needs a few lessons on people skills. I've never had a problem with Nordstrom and their return policy. They have always been wonderful with exchanges, returns, looking up items and solving the problem. Well, not this manager, instead of dishing out a lengthy long story I'll just say the experience was negative to say the least. However, the associate that first approached me was helpful, super sweet and did everything she could to meet my needs. The store was gorgeous, clean, well organized and displayed a nice contemporary feel. The night I came the traffic inside was slow and quiet. All the staff (except the manager) were friendly and greeted me in a welcoming manner. The only inconvenience was the manager and even though her encounter was a 1 star rating the rest was actually quite nice- thus I'll give the whole experience a big huge 3 stars. read more

I was expecting more from a brand spankin' new Nordstrom, but I felt let down. The only thing I can see that has changed is the restaurant. The old Nordstrom Cafe had awful worn out and abused furniture that they never wanted to replace. At least the new restaurant has new furniture. I have not eaten at the new restaurant yet, but I looked at the menu. It is totally different. As I walked through the store I did not see one "Sale Rack", so I guess just because they are new they feel it isn't required. I wouldn't kill them to cut the prices on a few things for cryin' out loud. I visited the "Ladies Room" while I was there and it was nice, but there was no soap in any of the dispensers. I had to visit the "Mother's Lounge" to get that. The new Glendale Nordstrom doesn't have the pizazz that the Grove store has. I was expecting to be wowed by the shoe collection, but I wasn't. I am looking forward to the new Bloomingdale's opening in November. I am sure it will be much nicer. read more

I'll go against the average vote here and give 4 stars to Nordstrom at the Americana. I agree with the one reviewer who mentions that the men generally get the shaft at department stores where we are grouped beside the kids and have a small department. That is true of this location of Nordstrom. All the way up on the 3rd floor with kids, and a fairly small department at that. I came to buy some underwear cause of all my years experience, good quality and more expensive underwear lasts a lot longer and is more comfortable. So I cam to Nordstrom. Selection was great, the problem was size. I'm a medium and they had all this awesome underwear in large, extra large, or small. The only medium to pick from was usually white and I don't like white underwear. The gal at the checkout had no other customers so I showed her what I wanted and asked if they had any medium in the back. She checked and they had one more box. Score! She grabbed it for me and mentioned a different brand her co-worker swears by so I got a box of those as well. She was helpful and friendly. Asked me my name and then called me by it during the rest of our transaction. They also validate for parking which was nice. Store is super modern looking and very bright. I didn't hear any piano playing like I did when they were in the galleria and didn't notice a piano, but I was in a hurry and may have passed it without even noticing. read more

You know the saying, "pretty from afar but far from pretty?" Well that saying holds true for the Nordstrom at Americana. I am a die-hard Nordstrom shopper and have been for nearly 30+ years. I particularly love to shop Nordstrom online especially because of their shipping and return policy. Sometimes the items purchased online don't fit or look right so I like to return them in the store. Generally as long as you have a receipt the process is easy. The Nordstrom at Americana (Glendale) is terrible! While I never received great service at the former Glendale Galleria location, but somehow at the new location, the SAs have gotten nastier, provide little to no customer service, and in some departments are nowhere to be found. At this location, I have had SAs roll their eyes at me, mutter under their breath, give me attitude, and pretend not to see me waiting for service. After today's experience where I "luckily" got eye rolls, a dirty look, and attitude at 3 different departments, I've pretty much had it with this location. From the outside the store looks sparkly new. But as soon as you try to interact with a SA the illusion is quickly dispelled. I try to avoid this location as much as possible and prefer going to the Santa Ana store. The SAs are immensely more professional and courteous in Santa Ana (over 35 miles from my house)! So with regards to the Nordstrom at Americana, not all that glitters is gold. And this Nordstrom is far from pretty! read more

Don't laugh, but I really enjoy the cosmetic shows on select weekends here at Nordstrom. As an Americana shopper member, I get all kinds of announcements for free food, new businesses, and as referenced, cosmetics show. At the first event, I was the only guy, but won a $100 bottle of perfume, which immediately went to my wife. As word caught on, more husband's and boyfriends started to appear, to increase their odds of winning some nice promotional items. Those that present at the show tell of current trends in cosmetics, tricks of the trade, and what their company is promoting or developing over the year. Did I mention free food? To entice loyal Nordstrom customers, there is so much free food and mimosas that it could be considered breakfast! No one goes away hungry at these events, and the clientele is very nice too! I wouldn't necessarily say I'm a Nordstrom fan. I don't do a lot of department store shopping, just not my style and if I do it's usually Bloomies or Neiman Marcus. I'd say this store is equivilant to a Macy's. They provided good customer service. We shopped around for a couple hours and ended up returning a couple days later for a price match on a pair of Wildfox sunnies I had purchased but were on sale at Bloomies. Gift boxes around the holidays are also always appreciated. I like being able to leave and know I don't have to worry about getting boxes, tissue paper and wrapping an item if I don't want to. A simple silver box with a bow will suffice if I don't have time to do more. They also have TopShop in here - the reason I added a 4th STAR ;) They also validate for longer than other stores at the Americana. read more

The service at the Ebar attached to this Nordstrom is horrible. The lady taking orders is incredibly rude. This is the place I alway go to when I'm shopping in Nordstrom. Today, I was waiting in line and she was taking the order of the person in front of me. I stepped a little to the left to get a better view of the menu but I was still clearly in line. When it was my turn, she asked if I was even in line, urging that there's a line behind me (yea no duh I've been here this whole time!!). She clearly didn't want to take my order and had a nasty attitude, even saying "Fine what do you want." Absolutely ridiculous!! Even the person who was in front of me confirmed I was in line! I left and refused to give them my money. After refusing to buy anything, she has the audacity to say "Okay thank you!" while clapping at me. Awful service. Also, everybody in this situation was white while I am a WOC. I don't want to say that race was a factor in this situation but this lady happened to target me, who is clearly Asian and has an accent. Thankfully, the manager of Nordstrom called to apologize for her behavior. I come here all the time and I have NO idea how it is that I haven't written a review for this location. For starters, I have been a weekly customer here since they opened. Seriously, I was here for their grand opening. Anyway, I have become pretty familiar with folks in different departments and it is great how we've exchanged contact info so that they can call or text and tell me when they are having great promos or gift with purchase events. I shop pretty often in the kids' shoes and men's shoes. I browse the women's shoe section often but I have found that I get absolutely little to NO service in the women's shoe department. The kids section is tiny and is in the front corner of the store. It has some really beautiful dresses and brands like Burberry for the lil ones, not to mention many many others. Their selection of tiny shoes is just that, TINY! The store is always clean and I've never seen it anything but. The restrooms are very modern and are usually pretty empty. Recently, the store has put in a lot more chairs and benches for shoppers and their waiting party. I do not care for the folks at the MAC counter. They tend to be a bit tough to approach and can sorta seem pushy. I often come for Chanel, YSL and other beauty product events. I always enjoy the personalized service I receive. I have worked with the same gentleman in the kids shoe department at least a dozen times now and we do recognize each other but never remember each other's names. It's one of those funny little things. Still, he has always been able to make some good suggestions and has often placed online orders for me. I know that this location is a TON smaller than many of the others out there but I don't have a problem with ordering things on line and coming here to pick them up. Free 3 hour parking for all Nordstrom customers (just ask any sales associate and they can direct you to the kiosk for the parking) and free all day parking if you spend a certain amount (I think it is $200). But if you don't mind a little bit more walking, you could just park at the Glendale Galleria structure and just walk over. This Nordstrom is located at the Americana. I came by this location with my mom on New Year's Day for shopping (after we had just finished shopping and grabbing a bite to eat at the Galleria). When I walked in and headed over to the watch section, I was greeted immediately by an employee. She smiled and told me to let her know if I need any help. I didn't see anything that really caught my eye in the watch or jewelry section, nor the scarf department. I headed over to the handbag and shoe department and also did not find anything interesting either. Upstairs is the clothing. It was also a "meh" moment for me (I think I spent too much over the holidays to want to buy anything right now I guess). Overall, I thought this Nordstrom location seemed to be smaller than some of the other locations that I have shopped at. But it is still a nice store. Just left empty handed on this visit. read more

I always love shopping at Nordstrom!! The staff here are extremely professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. I stopped by to purchase stockings and wasn't sure which style since there were so many different choices. My head was starting to spin when all the sudden a friendly lady asked if i needed assistance. Normally i would brush staff off but I couldn't decide at that moment. She asked the right questions and provided good responses and helped me pick the right style. She even suggest that i try them on to ensure i was happy with my final decision. Overall, i had a wonderful experience and walked out confident that i picked the right style. I still have peace of mind that if this product didn't work out, i could always return with no hassles with any nordstorm locations. The prices overall are more expensive than other department stores. This is a newer, very nice Nordstrom in the Americana Mall. It's not huge and the men's department is better than Santa Monica Place, but not as nice as Canoga, the Grove or Costa Mesa. The store size is slightly larger than the Grove and the men's department service was excellent, even if they didn't carry what I wanted. Really irresponsible of Nordstrom to be exposing dozens of their employees as well as customers to risk covid. Love this Nordstroms mall for how clean, organized and wonderful the customer service is here. I would say it is a big change at this location compared to many others. All the people seemed so friendly and more down to earth and even had funny comments or jokes. Which is nice during the long lines of people buying things for Christmas. During the night time many people were shopping and getting presents. I found this really lovely bag here, I don't remember the name of it since it has slipped my mind but it was a cute small cross body bag that was in the color dark grey. Got it for about $180.00 on sale, which isn't that bad. The lady that helped us was soo nice and she seemed like she really enjoyed her work at the bag section. read more

Nice, new Nordstrom's at the Americana and definitely a major upgrade from the Glendale Galleria location. I like that they have an eBar & a restaurant here. The first floor is cosmetics, shoes & handbags. Second floor is womens's clothes & third is men's. The major draw of this location is the Topshop people! Nobody wants to drive all the way to the grove for this. The downside is that the Topshop section is pretty limited (both men & womens) but it's better than nothing. I can't say the employees are very helpful here because no one offered to help me on any floor other than when i got to the MAC counter. The shoe section was kinda whack and I expected more since this is a new location and the clientele in Glendale has some money. I found Louboutins at Marshalls people! You should definitely be carrying high end designers here especially with Bloomingdale's opening LV & Gucci boutiques. All in all I will be back for the Topshop but that's about it. read more

**Online Order, In Store Pick Up** My most recent online in store purchase started out disturbing but ended on an good note. After picking up a dress I ordered online, I asked if I could try it on, conveniently the dressing room was right next door. After I have put on the dress and looked at the mirror I noticed this large white mushy texture powder looking stain on the dress. Without even giving it a second thought, I took it off right away. And came out of the dressing room and informed the girl who helped me. She was not fazed, as matter of fact she seemed annoyed with me and told me I had to take it upstairs to the junior section to return it or exchange for another one. Wow. Thanks a lot. She didn't even apologize for this white shit on the dress, she just dismissed me. I know she didn't grab it and pack it, but where is the Nordstrom customer service here??? #dumbfounded If I didn't actually want the dress I wouldn't have even put in much effort and just asked for her to do the return for me. So I haul my sorry ass upstairs because 1. I wants the dress 2. It was a nice color and 3. It was on sale, more then 60% off! When I got to the junior section, a very friendly nice young lady helped me. I told her about this unknown white stain and told her my experience down stairs and she was so shocked that it happened and was very apologetic. She asked me to give her a few minutes, she recall seeing my dress but wasn't sure if it was my size so she was going to run and look. She went above and beyond, she checked the racks and went into the back. And found one! A clean one!! Yay! She did the exchange for me and took the dirty one to the back. I didn't catch her name and I feel horrible for not being able to give her a shoutout here but she is the best! She went out of her way to take care of me and undo a mistake someone else did. Most of the staff was pretty friendly but Natalia v went above and beyond. Very friendly,attentive and helpful. She processed our purchase and asked if we needed validation. Told her my husband had my ticket and she still offered it to me just in case. Love this customer service,the store was very clean and organized. Everybody followed covid rules. read more

Just left Nordstrom's restaurant and had a wonderful experience with my server Christin. From the moment we sat down she came over RIGHT AWAY and greeted us. I had questions about the amended menu but she answered all of them. She even suggested that I get tacos and calamari which together was a satisfying lunch. Calamari wasn't heavily breaded so it was PERFECT! She's definitely a gem, please ask for Christin if making a pit stop to the restaurant upstairs. You won't be disappointed. read more
