After purchasing Dior from Saks yesterday.. I will never step foot in another Saks again! The staff was rude, obnoxious and looked down on us as we walked past. The cashier left a very small 48.00 item out of my bag and I didn't know it until I got home and joined the family for the trip to the airport. Very aggravating, I was gonna give it as a gift at the airport. The bag sat upright on the passenger seat all the way home so it wasn't lost. read more

I was really disappointed.. I was killing time and my friend and I were shopping around the handbag department looking for a bag she wanted. After awhile I decided I wanted to look at this Chloe bag I've been dying over and the sales lady rudely told me "that purse is $1,900" as if I'm some idiot or child.. shocked by her tone I told her that I knew the price and was just looking because it is my dream purse. I've never had a bad experience with Nordstrom and I'm a regular there and I even have a Nordstrom card because I shop there so much. I wish I had gotten her name I just know she was maybe around her late 30-early 40s, she needed better customer service or maybe she just shouldn't be such a sour person. read more

I dread shopping, but I was desperate. A formal event is coming up; I needed a dress. I am petite. Fourth largest city in the U.S. -- where are all the petite fashions or stores? Nordstrom's had a dress. Their selection of formals is not large, but it is varied and larger than, say, Macy's. The saleslady was wonderful. She knew her stock; had suggestions for accessorizing, was helpful but not intrusive. From there, I went over to the Petite Department and similarly found Mary, a very helpful and petite saleswoman. Nordstrom's has made the wise choice of properly staffing their sales floors so the sales people can actually sell and assist customers. What a novel concept! I will be going to Nordstrom's from now on. The only criticism I have is the parking garage entrance is convoluted. UPDATE: I bought a gown here for a holiday event. The saleslady deactiviated the large plastic tag but forgot to remove it. The tag cannot be removed without ruining the dress. In a panic, I called the store. The manager on duty sent someone over to my home to remove the tag, and we got to our event in time. THAT IS CUSTOMER SERVICE! read more

Nordstrom scares me. It scares me because I could easily spend my entire paycheck here if I wasn't careful. One would think it'd be difficult to top Neiman's or Saks in a city like Houston (I speak of menswear, at least), but Nordstrom's pulled it off. They carry possibly the most comprehensive selection of mid-to-high-end designer menswear I've seen anywhere outside of New York, London and Beverly Hills. Hell, they carry a few brands I didn't even realize existed! (e.g. Alexander Wang for men) Obviously anyone who's ever stepped into a Nordstrom knows about their legendary customer service and their equally legendary shoe department (again, WAY better than Neiman's or Saks for men), so I won't go too far describing them. Perhaps my only quibble with the store is its paucity of sales (twice a year, as regulars know), but the bargains are *really* good when they finally come around. Nordstrom even got the seal of approval from my mom, the most difficult-to-shop-for person I know! A while back we found her an outfit for my brother's wedding that was absolutely PERFECT for her, and not insanely priced, either. Finally, I should note that this is the nicest, and largest, Nordstrom I've seen outside of the Seattle-area flagship store! read more

I love Nordstrom so much- I mean, this is Texas, and I've always been a Neiman's girl with a twist of Saks, but lately, I have grown to appreciate Nordstrom more and more. I absolutely love their shoe department. I can get anything from a pair of Jimmy Choo mules to $45 Sam Edelman wedges. No other department store carries this range as well as Nordstrom does. Their shoe sales are an event in itself and should be treated as such. With a little bit of luck, you too can score a pair of "THIS SEASON" Stuart Weiztman pumps for under $60. While their cosmetics department reps are not as experienced as those at Saks and Neiman's, they have a much better costumer service. The representatives really do take the time to talk to each client about their needs and don't just try to push product- this is partly because they don't have to deal with the unnecessary traffic of non-clients taking a short cut through their store, but I think it is largely because of the cosmetics department manager, Scotty. Scotty is great! He is hands on, and he radiates costumer service satisfaction- the few times I have spoken to him, my problems have been resolved without any trouble. He is always walking about and very approachable. Their BP (not as in the gulf coast lubricant) line is their tween line, at H&M prices, with slightly higher than H&M quality. I love finding trendy articles here without making a dent on my finances. I don't come to Nordstrom for their high end lines, as they seem to not carry the largest or latest inventory. Good luck finding any Tom Ford, but I DO come for their contemporary section. They are the only store in the Galleria that carries Ted Baker, and they always have a great selection of Milly dresses IN THE RIGHT SIZE! Last year, I had a last minute panic, and Nordstrom saved my life. I was heading out to a wedding in a cocktail dress, when I realised I needed to wear something a bit more casual (the wedding was in the country)... I ran from the hair Salon at Saks to Nordstrom, and told them of my predicament. Within 15 minutes, three sales consultants were armed with 8-12 perfectly appropriate dresses in the right price range. I went with a lovely Ted Baker fit and flare dress, which they steamed for me at the moment, and I walked out with it on and drove straight to the wedding. The best part about Nordstrom though, is their bathrooms- They are always clean, never crowded, with large full size mirrors, and with plenty of lounge chairs to wait for your girlfriends to finish primping- More importantly they have lots of power plugs to charge your iphone and ipad after it dies from a long day of shopping. read more

The review is only for the shoe department. I've purchased shoes here for my daughter and everyone sales person has been nice and professional. My last purchased the shoes had to be ordered and were being delivered to the store. When I arrived at the counter to pick up my shoes, an older white shoes salesman (calling it as it is) was checking out someone. After he completed the transaction, I explained that I was there to pick up my shoes. As I'm telling him, the sales person who I placed my order was near the register. The older white shoes salesman states "Can he help you?" WTH! That was just plain rude and unprofessional! In an effort to not get upset, I stated, "sure he's the one who I ordered the shoes from." Best in the city! If your budget allows, Nordstrom's Houston Galleria is the place to go. The service is top notch, no matter whom you work with. For the best service in the industry of men's grooming and fragrance needs, ask for Maryln. I have known her through the store since they opened their doors. She provides the best knowledge and service, and it just plain amazing. There is a reason I shop at this store, and I do shop at Nordstrom's with a Macy's budget. I may not be able to buy as much as I could else where for the dollar, but to me service is beyond important. To be helped by a qualified staff, treated with respect, as an individual too, not someone helping three people at once, I will always pay extra for. Again, if you need any men's grooming or fragrance products, no one beats Maryln, she's the best in the industry, best in our great city, and just sweet as can be! I have to say that I am really impressed with the service at Nordstrom. During my most recent visit there, I went in to browse around and found a Ben Sherman shirt and pair of Rock & Republic jeans that I liked but could not find my size. I went ahead and ordered both online with free shipping and as I walked out of the store, a sales person literally ran and chased me down and said he had found the shirt on another rack in the store. That was the first pleasant surprise about that visit. A few days later, the jeans arrived in the mail (the shorter end of what they quoted me for shipping time). The next day I received a call from the guy who helped me at the store to confirm the shipment came in and everything was good. I have never felt like the employees there were at all snobby and this last experience proved to me how their customer service is awesome. read more

Service is unparallel to any store I've ever shopped in. Last year, I wanted to buy my dad Rayban Wayfarers for his birthday. He had recently lost a pair of knockoff wayfarers that he loved ... because he looked like one of the blues brothers. (Seriously.) My dad has kind of a big head, and the glasses looked small, so I didn't buy them, thinking that they woudn't fit. The employee at the men's accessories counter SPECIAL ORDERED size XL Wayfarer sunglasses and then kept them on hold until he called me and I could come in to pick them up. You can't do any better than that, in my book. Nordstrom's shoe sales are the best ever, and their half-yearly sale will always be my favorite holiday. read more

For some reason this Nordstrom seems to have the thirstiest sales people. I understand that there is a commission structure but Saks/Neiman is able to do it in a much more subtle and professional manner. The people here try to strong arm a sale and if they don't feel a sale is going to happen they treat you like you stole their first born. There was one time I was looking for a specific sweater that this location did not carry and the sales woman kept wanting me to try these tops that I never asked about nor were interested in, it got so aggressive that eventually her co-worker came over and said "You know, I'm pretty sure we don't have what you wanted in our store but you can order from online" and then the sales lady just stopped talking and didn't make any more eye contact with me. While they do have a good return policy, I've had to return beauty products that arrived in seemingly used condition and the cold shoulder's you will receive when trying to make a return/exchange are astonishing. read more

After having a bit of a horrendous experience trying to find shoes at Macy's, I came here and suddenly the din went away. Like someone else in the nordstrom reviews, I'm writing about e-bar, the little coffee shop that Nordstrom's maintains just outside its main entrance in the galleria (they have e-bars in many of their stores, I think). I noticed yesterday that E-Bar sells the Toddy, an excellent cold-brew coffee system (at a decent price, by the way). I surmised that they probably use the toddy to make iced coffee, so I ordered some. I don't know for sure, but the product they gave me was fairly smooth, with little of the bitter aftertaste that so afflicts most iced coffee. Also, the e-bar seats are a good place for your wife to wait for you while you give the shoe salesman the run around on sizing (seriously, I usually wear a 10 - why did a 9 of all things fit? Have they adopted British sizing? Given up on their previous lasts? It's all very unclear). These things together make the e-bar the best coffee bet in the Galleria mall itself. read more

I love Nordstrom unfortunately this visit wasn't the best. Me my mother and daughter were in the make up department waiting patiently for some one to attend us at the YSL station after waiting about 20 min in the very cramped space I was attended by a nice lady who color matched me. As I'm getting color matched my mother sat down on a chair while my daughter was asleep in her stroller and this man was so rude as to tell her that she was in the way of where he was working... he had been standing there the entire time and never even asked if we needed help. Looked like he was just sitting there drawing on paper. Never did I think that somebody would be rude as to tell a Costumer that she was in the way of his work. Unfortunately I probably won't be shopping in the make up section of Nordstrom anymore if the employees find "in the way". read more

There are 'designer tights' downstairs, but for pantyhose, you have to go up to the women's suits section...everything was so scattered, I was nearly late for the wedding I was buying things for! I love Nordstrom's...however, they don't always carry the brands I am looking for. They have a good selection of Hugo Boss and Armani, some Versace, but not much else. If you happen to be looking for a suit, and the price at Nordstrom's is right, then ask for Anthony. He is a former Saks Fifth Avenue guy...and knows a lot about suits! He also used to be the Kiton specialist...the Cadillac of suits!!! Their Rail always has a good selection of jeans and modern casual wear. However, their semi-annual and anniversary sales are awesome. read more

Nordstrom Galleria just became my new favorite store! I have nothing but nice things to say about them. I love the customer service, every one is so friendly, always very welcoming, and everyone is very attentive. I was there for a recent Kate Spade purchase. Everything went wonderful. Then, I was "returning" my purse after I saw a sale at Kate Spade store for 15% off so I went back and they suggested they can give me that discount instead of going through the trouble of buying it at Kate spade. The difference was even returned to us in our preferred credit card. Nordstrom I am extremely satisfied, you were such a pleasant and smooth shopping experience! Love Nordstrom, even though at this point of my poverty, I cannot afford to shop there, hah. However, I do enjoy vicariously shopping there with my girlfriends - sooo there's always that! The salespeople are really superduper affable and outgoing. The last time I accompanied my friend, "Sasha" completely devoted herself to us for a good thirty minutes picking out about twenty dresses with my friend. So it's a rather large department stores - three stories of wonderment. They store us outfitted with higher end brands, but you know, not too much uppity couture stuff. Basically this isn't a bargain bin kind of place, capiche? The shoe selection is sprawling and amazing. I don't really "get shoes" (yes, I'm female, so what?!), so I simply zone out whenever I'm dragged into that area High end purses and orher accessories are in good and plentiful form. I've observed slight discounting with regards to those products every so often. I used to really adore perusing the make-up counters back in the day. The MAC and Bobbi Brown counters have been nothing less than critcal back when I was building my beauty stash (um, I finally have that under control, thank you very much). During the summer the do have some sort of event wherein you can purchase limited edition beauty goodies exclusive to Nordies. I'm forgetful as to when, but it used always be quite the treat for me. There's a lovely grand piano situated by the escalators that's often being clamored away upon by a nicely dressed gentlemen. A nice little Nordies touch. I think the piano tends to be in commission more around the holidays and other peak shopping days. Basically Nordstrom is way better than Neiman's and Saks. The sales people are waaay friendly and they carry things that are slightly more affordable and modern than the other two. read more

I always love Nordstrom for the shoes!!! I've been looking for some cute and possibly rewearable wedding shoes lately and no one really beats Nordstrom for selection, even the price is not that bad. I also went into there Bridal Shop and had the most excellent customer service. I appreciated this becasue I wasn't sure exactly how formal of a dress I was looking for and because I wasn't prepared to buy on this day either. There was no pressure and I got to try on lots of different styles in my size and decide which ones weren't going to work out. Although I found my dress elsewhere, opting to have it made for me, I almost went with the Nordstrom choice for quality, simplicity, ease of wear. They had a lot of accesories and I didn't have to make an appointment. The dress department located alongside the Bridal Shop also has a great selection of dresses in the latest styles, they have regular sales and their designer selection is one of the best in the Galleria and it's of a better price. read more

When the pianist is here.. I never want to leave. I absolutely love shopping here when there's an actual person playing the piano, WITHOUT SHEET MUSIC! It's so.. relaxing. Shopping can be stressful, man :( The shoe section is always my first stop. I love to check out anything new and everything old. I'm dying to get a pair of Steven Maddens. And I just saw a pair of Coach high heeled boots. DROOLS. I even wandered into the Christian Louboutin section. One of the associated there asked if I needed help and I replied 'No, thank you. Just admiring shoes I will never be able to afford.. unless I win the lottery! :D' He laughed and said, "Well, if you do you know where to find them!" He was nice. My boyfriend also bought me a pair of Toms a few weeks ago. The lady that helped us was very kind and didn't mind bringing out another pair to test my sizes. She even explained the fitment for me as well, and made me feel very comfortable. The clothing section though. That's another story. We visited Nordstrom a couple times this past weekend. Our hotel was not far from there and it was the end we entered into the Galleria. I was blown away by how large the location was. My wife spent quite a while in their shoe dept. while we were there. The staff was super friendly in helping her and making sure that we were well taken care of. I was very impressed by the their courtesy and generosity. Me being a man, was not very interested in the whole experience. My wife however seemed to be enjoying herself. I did appreciate their level of service and we will definitely be returning again for more shopping in the future. read more

This Nordstrom is overall really great. I recently went there to look for bridal shoes and a dress for my rehearsal dinner. I saw the shoes I was interested in in the wedding suite so I wandered in with some dresses in my hands as well. The women working there invited me to try on my dresses in the wedding suite. The suite is wonderful and spacious (unlike traditional fitting rooms). Although it is usually reserved for appointments, there were no appointments when we were there so they allowed us to use the space. They were great! They got us water and gave me advice on the dresses. As Julie N. mentioned, it isn't too snooty which is great. Definitely give them a try for shoes and dresses! read more

I mean seriously? Do we even to review Nordstrom? None the less, I'll do it for the folks who need to know. I love shopping here, it's always so welcoming. How could one avoid a high end department store with someone playing the piano live when you walk in? Their mens shoe section is great for dress shoes, casual but I would advise against their running shoes, selection seems to be limited and prices are at the top of the chain. The mens clothes are very well stocked and always displayed properly/neatly. My one gripe would be the cologne section never seems to have someone to help you quickly. I've been in there several times to buy some and have to find someone. Other than that, Nordstrom is one of my fav's! read more

I normally buy online and just return in store because the service here is a hit or miss. Even with returns, sometimes at the service bar the associates don't know what they are doing and it is frustrating waiting for them to process my return. Some associates have told me I have to have the receipt even if I pull it up on my phone and log in (which takes a while with barely any cell service in there). Another associate told me once I had to have my card on me to do the return which I know I didn't need it the previous times. One time an associate said all they needed was my phone # and they could look up my purchase and put it back on my card automatically. So this is very confusing and frustrating. The reason I started buying online is because I never had my nordstrom card on me and it was always a hassle with people trying to look it up. One time, it actually took 35 minutes while I waiting for the associate to call a customer service number where she wrote down all my info on a piece of paper and then had to go home a shred it. Finally someone told me about getting it through a text message. Why hadn't anyone told me this over the past times?! Needless to say the associates need better training on transactions. read more

RIP to the days of great customer service at Nordstrom! I asked for a sample of perfume and a counter lady told me to make it myself then walked away. I asked her again and she told me I have to purchase a bottle as samples are no longer given. Mind you this was just a Lancôme perfume, nothing special. So, I was forced to purchase a small bottle. Additionally, I had to exchange some vitamins (I was shipped the wrong bottle). When I got home, I realized they're about to expire and there are only 23 capsules out of the 60 that should be inside! I called the store and they laughed at me over the phone and told me to just come back in and exchange....... AGAIN!!!!!!!!! They had very little concern of the mistakes, very little concern of my personal time, and very little concern of being polite. Let's not even get into asking for help in other departments. It's obviously an inconvenience to be helped at this store. read more

I have never been so uncomfortable in my life. 3/3/21 Coming in we were ready to make a big purchase I come in with my friend and we are looking for something in particular. We ask for assistance and with the most disgusting look in her eye she looks at my friend up and down and says they don't have the product. My friends proceeds to express that he has seen the product at other Nordstrom locations and for some reason this specific store didn't. (regular customer questions) My issue was when we just left it at that and we continue to look around the store and yes I understand keeping an eye on customers in a high dollar item stores is normal but to tell coworkers to keep an eye on him going around is highly inappropriate. My friend and I were very uncomfortable and embarrassed. We left and decided to take our business elsewhere. Im not the type to write reviews but this was just disgusting and horrible service. I understand it's policy, but they definitely need to work on being more discreet about it. read more

A great store for just about anything you need. Start with lunch at Basile and then burn it off shopping or work up an appetite shopping! The food is amazing! Best shoe department in the city. And amazing clothes for little ones. I love to shop there for little girls, precious outfits. The best part about Nordstrom is the great people that work there. Must be a good employer all the employees seem very happy. Parking in the garage or valet is convenient and fast. Don't miss the sales! In store and online. I've looked high and low for my son a pair of leather mid converse sneakers. I went to the Converse outlet in Katy mills and they did not have his size. I did not want to go to the Cypress outlets. I called Nordstroms Kids shoes and told them what I was looking for. They had the exact shoe, in his size for $45! They held it for me. When I arrived, the sales lady was so helpful and friendly. This is my dad and his wife's favorite store. I usually steer clear as they're extremely expensive - other than an occasional pass through the junior department, where the prices are within my budget. It is a terrific store. If I had unlimited funds I'd probably shop here and take advantage of the badass customer service. All in all, I enjoy a visit to this store - it's so incredibly pleasant. The women's bathrooms are "lounges" and include couches & a leisure area. They also have a cafe, of which I'm a fan (although there's generally a line). I'm usually don't shop at Nordstrom and whenever I do, their customer service is excellent, both in store and online. Their return policy is unbeatable. Very easy to return any unwanted items (with or without the receipt) As for the store itself, the shoes department is always super busy. However, you can always find the help you need at reasonable time. I also had a chance to use their Spa service for a airbrush tanning service before and that was a delightful experience.
