I had such a great experience at the Nordstrom in Irvine, specifically in the makeup department with Lyana R. She really is an "In Store Beauty Expert", I had an appointment with her for 3:00 PM on Saturday, and Lyana was ready and waiting for me right on time, which I really appreciated. I believe she's the manger of Westman Atelier and if she's not she should be . From the start, she was incredibly friendly and easy to talk to. What stood out the most was her honesty--she didn't try to push products I didn't need and gave thoughtful recommendations on what was worth purchasing now versus what could wait. That kind of transparency is rare and made the whole experience feel trustworthy and relaxed. She did an amazing job on my makeup. My 13 year old daughter even loved it. The final look was exactly what I wanted--very natural but still polished and beautiful. It enhanced my features without feeling heavy or overdone. Overall, Lyana was a pleasure to work with. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a personalized and honest makeup experience, and I will definitely be booking with her again next time I'm at Nordstrom Irvine. read more

Still no change. Went in for a return, headed upstairs to the customer service counter and was once again greeted with the familiar "we do returns downstairs too" brush-off. Same energy, different day. At this point it's clear this is a systemic issue, not a one-off. If the second floor counter is exclusively for order pickup, put up a sign. If it's general customer service, train the staff to act like it. Other Nordstrom locations don't pull this -- the inconsistency and attitude are unique to this store. Nordstrom corporate responded to my last review saying they'd "share it with the proper team members." Clearly that didn't accomplish much. read more

Went to this Nordstrom location last week for a dress that was for a special occasion event. Let me just say that my overall experience with this particular location can be a hit or miss. It's difficult finding an associate for assistance, and their selection in merch is seriously lacking. I couldn't find anything that I liked. My experience last week was a little disappointing. I'm being generous with my rating. It's really a 3.5 stars, overall. The lack of help, their customer service has gone downhill. I will just skip and avoid this location altogether, and either head to their South Coast Plaza or Mission Viejo locations, in the near future. I sadly don't recommend this Nordstrom location. I've always loved Nordstom, the service and quality of the items is just unbeatable. Especially the shoes! Women's shoes are stylish and they have a huge range of options. They also offer repair services for any shoes you buy and I love that because I have heels that I've taken in for years and they come back refreshed. I brought my puppy in her stroller and the staff were so sweet, talking to us along with several other customers that came to say hi. The store is gorgeous, always neat and orderly and bright. 10/10 would definitely recommend Hanady!! I called the store because I needed a nice suit. The lady immediately connected me to a stylist, Hanady. Hanady texted me the next day and asked me what exactly I was looking for. I told her and set an appointment. I got to the store and she had over 40 pieces of clothing picked out and organized for me. She explained everything, checked periodically, and even found me some really nice shoes. I used to love doing curbside pick up at this location because they would really take their time and box up the item and even occasionally doing a special touch, The Irvine spectrum location is extremely small so the curbside pick up was the one perk it had. Also if I do a curbside pick up opposed to getting free shipping to my house it's because it's typically a gift that I want on time and in a box. I've had two instances that I was unhappy with the curbside pick up. Today, I had a really rude customer service representative drop off what appeared like an Amazon cardboard box to my car. When I told her that I usually have this placed in a Nordstrom bag she said that's extra. I of course corrected her and told her that it's only extra if they gift wrap it; she said that if I wanted it in a Nordstrom bag I guess I would have to call in advance to make this request. She was extremely rude making it very ironic she was working the customer service department, but also making sense because the customer service department doesn't work on commission. Either way, I had a really disappointing experience and I think that it's probably not this Gen Z's fault it's likely the manager of the customer service department that really needs to reevaluate how her staff treat clients and standardized protocol. I walked to the 3rd floor where the staff member begrudgingly gave me bag and a small box (note I bought shoes as a gift for a co-worker). I plan to try to make my online pickups at another Nordstrom closer to my home to see if I have a better experience. read more

I visited this Nordstrom location to return a jacket I purchased about a month ago. In the Men's Department, I spoke with the supervisor, Ariana, but after about 20 minutes of discussion, the return was declined. I then went to another Nordstrom location, where the exact same item was accepted without any issue and with a very polite and professional attitude. I've always associated Nordstrom with excellent and consistent customer service, so the difference in experience between two locations was disappointing. Absolutely terrible service. Put 5 items on hold yesterday from an employee and called again today to confirm they were still there for pickup today. Once we arrived after a 30 minute drive another employee brought out 4 items and her mood changed immediately. She then turns behind the counter after whispering with her manager and says the pants have been taken and been given to the fulfillment team. After a few minutes of going back and forth of where the product was they then say the pants were put into an online pickup order for today. I still am confused as to where the pants are because normally when you put items on hold you separate them from fulfillment items, but I guess not in there case. I'm disappointed in the service as well as the little help they did to fix the situation that they put me in. As I am in a time crunch for getting the full suit I am now back at square one because of the incompetency with these employees (teenagers). read more

We were in the male section with the hats and urban style, didn't get greeted or asked for help there even tho we spent a lot of time there and there were 2 associates, so we left that section and went looking for a perfume I saw right before Christmas. We got greeted right away in the beauty section and ask if help was needed. I knew what it looked like, so I had to see it, only found the candles in the brand. I did find a La Perla fragrance I liked and tried it on. Might get that if on stock next time. read more

I wanted to share a quick experience I had at your store. Normally, I'm greeted warmly, but the last two times I came in, that wasn't the case. On Tuesday, I came in with my mom and was ignored by two employees Brandon and another gentleman (African-American). They didn't greet us at all, just looked at us and kept doing their thing. And I witnessed he was very kind and helpful to the other older women. I came back today to exchange some shoes, and again approached both of them. I said "excuse me," but they just looked at each other and ignored me completely went back to what they were doing and couldn't even make eye contact with me. Thankfully, Anne stepped in and was super helpful, but it was disappointing to be ignored by Brandon the whole time. I just wanted to pass along this feedback. Hope it helps! read more

I went to Nordstrom in Irvine to return a dress and shop for my son's upcoming trip to Italy. This was supposed to be a fun, special outing for him, and it ended with me walking out holding back tears. At the men's department, I approached a register where a young man appeared to be helping someone. He glanced at me and down at the shopping bag I was holding with the dress in it he went back to helping the other customer. Then he walked away mid-transaction, and the customer started going behind the counter, so I assumed the register wasn't open and stepped away. When I saw him return, I politely asked if he had been open. He gave me a dirty look and said, "I'm helping someone else." The tone was dismissive and unnecessary. I moved to another register and that associate was kind and professional. After my return, I found my son and we started looking at shirts. As we walked, the first associate passed by and looked me up and down in a way that made me feel judged. For context, I was dressed casually but nicely. It was a hot day, and I had on black shorts, a cute top, Birkenstocks, and was carrying a Longchamp bag. I wasn't disheveled or out of place. In the fitting room area, my son asked me to come see the shirts. I sat and waited while he changed. That same associate came in, looked at me the same way again, and never once asked if we needed help. Not once. No greeting, no offer, nothing., My son ended up choosing two shirts and we spent $268, but we had planned to buy several outfits. Instead, I just wanted to leave. The whole experience made me feel unwelcome and less than, like I didn't belong there or wasn't worth helping. We left the store upset. My son even wanted to go back and say something, but I told him it wouldn't help. I do want to thank the associate who helped us at checkout. He was professional and kind. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience overshadowed that completely. How hard is it to smile or simply ask if someone needs help? read more

Our experience with Sheerin yesterday was disappointing. She was standing behind a counter and saw us looking at jewelry/watches. She never once acknowledged us but was instead just standing there/doing nothing. She then left. We wanted to see something in the case so we looked around for help. We saw her standing not too far off so went to ask for assistance. She seemingly reluctantly agreed. She was very cold and not welcoming at all. Didn't smile, or say a single word while helping us. It was a very awkward and uncomfortable interaction. Felt like we were bothering her. We wanted to ask questions about the piece we were looking at but her demeanor was unwelcoming so we wanted to wrap it up quickly. Once we were done looking, she went to tell an Asian female colleague something along the lines of "you go work that counter" and walked away to just stand about 10 feet away. Seemed quite rude in my opinion. Made it obvious she didn't want to help us. She had keys on her arm and we saw other workers come ask for them from her from time to time so I assume she holds sometime of supervisory position. If that's the example Irvine Spectrum Nordstroms leadership provides, I rather drive further to a different Nordstroms for much better service. As we were leaving, we saw her happily helping an older woman look at items in a case. We felt judged and discriminated against based on our age and race. First time experiencing poor service at Nordstrom. Don't recommend this location. read more

VERY FRUSTRATING! Called to learn which designer dress shirts could be ordered/custom made here, the lead time for production and to schedule an appointment. Chase answered the phone and then hung up on me. Really? Thought perhaps it was accidental but subsequent efforts to reach Mens Suits failed. CHASE STOPPED ANSWERING THE PHONE! I expect service that sets the bar...it's why I shop Nordstrom. Won't bother with this location...apparently the Manager doesn't monitor his staff or hire very well. Disappointing. RACIALLY PROFILED Today was supposed to be a special day. We walked into Nordstrom (04/13 1pm-ish), excited to treat myself to a Chanel perfume for my birthday -- something I had been looking forward to. We went straight to the Chanel counter, full of anticipation and joy. But instead of being greeted or helped, me and my best friend were completely ignored. There was another lady being helped and so we waited patiently as both women at the counter were assisting her. They were asking her several questions and telling her stock quantities. She ended up walking away without purchasing anything. As soon as the lady in front of us left the counter both ladies left. They didn't greet me or even acknowledge my presence. I was so embarrassed and mortified. I specifically went to Nordstrom's at the Irvine spectrum because I know they usually have exceptional customer service. This is not the kind of experience anyone should have to go through and especially on a day meant to be a celebration. Do better, Nordstrom. I expected so much more. I ended up leaving and going to purchase perfume from Sephora where they greeted me at the door and made me feel very welcome. read more

I'm emailing to acknowledge Ricky Zeng at the la Mer counter at Nordstrom Irvine spectrum. I firmly believe one should give credit where credit is due, and I am hoping Ricky is being acknowledged for all he does for his clients. He doesn't set the bar- he is the bar. I can't speak for others, but I can say that, people like Ricky are a RARE breed. As a woman in the world of corporate finance, I think that to over-deliver in service, like what Ricky Zeng does, for a client (like me) is by far the most valuable thing to a business. There are two ways to improve the operations of a business: increase sales or decrease costs. These days, people will only stay loyal to a company/entity if they have very good reason to. Ricky is my only reason to shop at your Nordstrom store. (Increase Sales for your store, Robert) He is honest, very knowledgeable, and I trust him completely when it comes to anything beauty related. Ricky will not sell me something I don't need. He knows exactly what I like and will go above and beyond to procure all of the things I want and need. That said, Customer loyalty, in my opinion, is important, and Ricky is an individual who has kept clients, like me, from ditching Nordstrom and purchasing goods from a competitor. Although he mainly sells la mer, he knows I am a clé de peau gal (through and through), and again, Ricky will not push a product I do not want or need (even his product as he knows I don't use it) Unlike other salespeople, Ricky is an honest man and doesn't push his own products, because again, he knows what I like and what I will use! & I don't use la mer. I respect him for that completely, and will continue to do business with him & only him at your store. Please give him the credit he deserves as he is a valuable asset to your store and someone I trust (and I am sure he has received similar feedback from other customers.) Leona* the "manager on duty" has absolutely no decorum when speaking to customers. I had the displeasure of dealing with her & her blatant lies. She would explain one thing to my husband & I, only to backtrack say something totally different minutes later. I've never had any issues at any other location I've been to & cannot believe I had such a negative encounter with an employee. She was dismissive & did not provide me with her information openly. I had to ask another employee what her name was. Best believe I will be contacting your Store Manager Robert Lian. He should be aware of how dismissive & disrespectful his "MOD" was. read more

Nordstrom is one of our favorite department stores. We usually receive the best service at any Nordstrom locations especially the cosmetic department. But that was not the case at the Dior counter here. Despite there was nobody working at the Dior counter, only one sales lady noticed me and came to my help. But she was so rushing the entire time, it was strange to me that she didn't want commissions from an expensive cosmetic sale? I wanted to get all the products on Anya Taylor-Joy's Dior commercial. I like to do this with Dior cosmetics when my favorite actresses in their commercials. I think maybe because that sales lady didn't work at the counter so she couldn't find anything I asked for! In the end she found the wrong eyeshadow palette and didn't want to keep looking for other products for me! When I tried to push her to find me some more she said "you are killing me!" And she told me "good job" for finding the products she couldn't find herself! LMAF! I'v never experienced anything like this at any Nordstrom! It was so bad and almost comical! At least that wrong color of eyeshadow palette is still so beautiful and it's new colors so I kept it! Now I know to never shop at this Nordstrom ever! read more

I said it once and say it again...this location sucks...I have a Nordstrom note that will be expiring soon and happened to be at this location and wanting to get some tinted moisturizer. They didn't have a lot of sale at the counters. I was trying to flag someone to help and asking them about tinted moisturizer and they both looked at each other and didn't understand it and I was second guessing about my pronunciation or term and even tried to spell out and then they were like oh we thought you were looking for a specific brand. Anyways I was trying to ask them for recommendations and also the right shade since I got dark during summer. I could tell they didn't want to help much and pretty just threw me a few brands and asked me to take a look at them myself...ok fine...I was looking around and asked them again was interested in trying one specific brand for shades and straight up the lady said we do not have a lot of shades in stock here and did a shitty job on matching my skin tones and asking me if I am looking for spf in it; I told her yes bc I wanted something easy and I do not need to put on so much products. Anyway, she was trying to sell me la mer...I was like no I whist wanted something casual for everyday. I've been shopping at Nordstrom since the early 80's and the last few times I've been to the Spectrum the Customer Service has been unacceptable. First, I'm not sure who thought it was a good idea to put Customer Care/Returns on the top floor next to the cafe (so you have to park on the top of the Parking Structure and take bridge across) to pickup or return online purchases but it's challenging. Especially if you're elderly and park in handicap. Second, I initially went to the first floor and no one would return my online purchase! It was on my App and I just received it, but cosmetics or shoes told me to go upstairs. So I just went home. When I returned the following weekend I was dismayed to learn management decided to place it in the Corner!!! And no one was on the floor to assist me because no one is ever around but online shoppers/pulling clothing. Nordstrom has gone down hill. I only shop online and hate the Spectrum store. read more

The experience here has always hit or miss. On the surface, the sales staff is mostly pleasant but sometimes you get those interactions that wipe out any pleasant memories you have of the place. Example: My card was hacked but I was told while waiting for the new card, I can still go shopping in person. I was told explicitly that the salesperson had to call and get a temporary # for me at the store. Being that it was Christmastime, I had to buy stuff. Our first salesperson was clueless when I told her about the procedure and told me I needed to call so I ended up calling Nordstrom Card Services. Unsurprisingly, I was told again the Nordstrom employee had to call from a "secure line". The salesperson tried, but on her cell and for whatever reason, didn't get through (I just did!). So we ended up paying with another cc. I went over to Customer Service where I explained my issue and the guy there said to me in sort of a put-off tone "Well, if she couldn't get through, then it'll be the same here." Frustrated, I started to walk away when another employee called me back, seemed to know the procedure, got right through and wrote down my temp # for me. (The temp # didn't ultimately end up working anyway so I never did get those points.) I totally get that this might partly be a training issue given the labor challenges everyone is having but this was a singularly frustrating shopping experience. My general feeling is the salespeople are all too happy to sell you something but not too keen on helping you with any complications, pandemic or not. Not a new issue but they've also gotta come up with a better order pick-up system. It's torturous watching these folks search high and low (and coming around to the same spot multiple times) for orders when there should be a system in place. Multiple orders? Go get yourself a coffee. Oh well. read more

Came to purchase a gift, this Nordstrom is tiny and has limited inventory in comparison to the other locations. They struggle to have an order ready for pick up on time, every single time. On my recent experience, no one was at the order pick up area, I had to flag someone down. On top of that they wanted to charge me to gift wrap a product I had just purchased from downstairs?
