I scheduled a beauty stylist appointment with Laurie, she was amazing! I would definitely recommend her. I have been using the same products for over 10 years now and wanted some suggestions on newer products or any new techniques I should be using. I brought in my make up bag and showed her all the products I am currently using and asked her opinion on the products and if she would suggest anything different. My make up style is very natural and minimalist. I wanted some suggestions on how to highlight and contour my features. Laurie made several suggestions for a few different products and showed me how to apply each product. I ended up buying everything she showed me, it was exactly what I was looking for to update my make up bag! I felt no pressure to buy anything and she listened to everything I said I was looking for. Yikes. Had a manicure in the nail bar that was fine except the technician was sick and kept blowing her nose. The second I left there one finger smudged. Nicely the manager gave me a free future manicure but after 35 and a 20 tip, on top of her being sick. The next visit waited an hour for a sandwich and the staff couldn't have been less professional. I am super unimpressed with this store. If you have only lived here you might find this store impressive but it's really the bottom of the upscale store world. Wow...... Corinna and Katy from Chanel redefined the definition of customer service, and I salute to that. Please refer to timeline below, * I purchased a gown from Nordstrom that is on sale; nonetheless, both Corinna and Katy still took a lot of time helping me with alternations and giving me their honest opinion and bits of advice on the dress. The seamstress, Anastasia, patiently and tirelessly helped me with the gown alternation. * Alteration completed and gown shipped. Katy personally texted me and let me know the gown is on the way. * A week after I received the gown, Katy texted me and asking me if I was satisfied with the gown. Unfortunately, it was quite a complicated alteration and I was not happy with the result. * Katy owned up the result and took ownership of contacting all the local seamstress to determine who is most equipped for this alternations and eventually found a seamstress who specializes in wedding gown alternation. She scheduled an appointment for me immediately and everyone has gone to work. Katy also made sure I didn't get charged for any additional fees associated with the subsequent alternations. * 2nd alternation completed but still not satisfied. Katy texted to check in and thank me for my patience. * 3rd alternation completed and I am SO THRILLED with the result. Katy told me her job is not done until the very day that I wear the dress to the party. I want to thank Corrina and Katy, and their team for their help, support, and patience. I had never in my life experienced this level of customer service, how can I possibly give a review of anything less than a 5 star? read more

Nordstrom what happened to you? First of all my love for Nordstrom goes way back. Black Friday I found 2 Kate Spade travel umbrellas but one was out of stock. I was told the Seattle store had one which was untrue. I asked about a rain check but I guess this doesn't exist anymore. Very disappointed in the customer service both online and at the store. If you want to charge almost $50 for a travel umbrella (33.50 on sale) customers expect excellent customer service. read more

This is the one brand where I'm confident the stylists/products can match my tan skin tone and address my concerns. I have always had the best experiences with Nordstrom. Up until I visited this location I thought they were always attentive, nice and helpful. The first time I went I was looking at a jacket but they didn't have the size on the rack. I had to find a sales woman that was working in the department and ask her if they had the jacket in my size, she said that they didn't without even checking the computer or browsing the rack. So, I asked if she could look it up and have it shipped to me and she actually let out an audible huff and said she'd go check. I stayed in the area and she came back and said that they didn't have it and her tone was full of attitude. I thought they made a commission, she should have been jumping all over an easy sale. Ok, I understand that every once and awhile you get a bad egg, so that experience didn't deter me from visiting the store again a few months later when I was downtown and desperately needed a pair of heels. It was late, my heel had just broken and I needed to get something to wear to go out that night. I browsed the nearly empty shoe department quickly. There were probably only two other customers there browsing as well. There were four sales people standing and talking at the register. I found a pair, walked over and asked for my size to try on, and went to sit down. She came out with the pair I wanted and handed me the box. Didn't even open it. Meanwhile, I had seen another pair while she was gone on her epic journey to get this pair, and I asked to try that one too. She told me that the shoe looked the same as the one I was trying on. Yes, that's why I like it, and it was slightly different as it had more of a platform. She disappears to get it again. By the time she came back I had tried on the pair she brought out, walked in them, had the whole shoe experience and I just wanted to leave. She had brought the pair I asked for in brown and the wrong size. Ok, that's fine, I thanked her and said that after wearing the ones she first brought out I'd like to buy them and wear them out. She said that I'd have to pay for them first. Duh! I just told her that I wanted to buy them and was holding my Nordstrom Card out to her to pay for them. She said that they can't take payment on the floor that I have to go to the register. I've usually been able to pay on the floor at every other store I have been to, with some exceptions. She tells me to put my shoes in the box and meet her at the register. I've bought shoes at other locations before and worn them out. The sales rep usually puts them in the box for me and carries them to the register or boxes them up and will bring them back bagged for me. At the register the other sales reps are talking about their day and it just wasn't professional at all. I was very disappointed. The Bellevue Square Mall Nordstrom is hands down the best Nordstrom there is in Washington. Great selection, and if they don't have it, they'll offer to order it for you. The only qualm with that store is the makeup department, it's a pain to get help there if you are getting Estee Lauder or Clinique. Recently I switched all of my makeup to Chanel and Anastasia because the sales rep there was so nice and helped me after I was being ignored at the Estee Lauder counter and overlooked by the sales rep there. Anyway, now I'm going into a review of the other location, I'll stop. If you can skip going to the downtown Seattle store and go to Bellevue you'll have a much better experience. read more

I don't normally review shops but this one is a step above the others. If you are a fan of shopping at Nordstrom, you will love this store. We were approached by a couple to different salespersons and each one was helpful, considerate and knowledgable of the designer collections. Since I received excellent service and I had gotten in an argument with my SO I decided I needed some serious therapy shopping, and bought several pairs of shoes. Although I haven't worn most of them, I still believe it was worth it. I then went to their grill and had a bite to eat and a specialty cocktail. The cobb salad and slit pea soup is recommended. I visited this Nordstorm last week to pick out some gifts for my aunts birthday coming up and I thought I'd leave a review about my experience. First off, I'd like to say that I was very pleased with the staff as they were very helpful and hands on with finding exactly what I was looking for. I was specifically looking for a short black dress and some nice shoes to go along with it. I told the staff member what I was looking for and she promptly escorted me to the area and helped me make a decision. It was quick and painless. this girl loves her lingerie. girls, nothing makes you feel sexier and more femme fatale than knowing underneath that work-appropriate attire, you're all corseted, laced, crotchless-pantied, gartered up. who cares that at the end of the day, you'll be taking it off yourself and cuddling with your cat instead of a hot man. and when you find someone to take it off for you, even better. i was in need of some new lingerie. i was new to the city and had been cuddling with my cat for many months and i had finally met a man! i was determined to almost kill him with my sexiness. i LOVE the lingerie selection here. also, i've never before had such fantastic service. this cute older lady helped me. i felt like i was talking to my mom about the things i was planning on doing to this man. we discussed if he was worth the $100 corset and garter set or the $300 bustier. she checked in on me in the fitting room, wrapped up my lingerie beautifully and told me places to check out in the city. the shoe selection here is also fantastic. um, half off designer shoes during their semi annual? pinch me. read more

I have been going to the Nordstrom Spa for almost a decade. It all started with my sisters wedding day and anticipation of my own proposal. Needless to say I had a perfect manicure the day he proposed, 2 years later! For those two years prior I visited Nina every 2 weeks like clockwork. She is so friendly, professional and has the best technique! Seriously no one has ever cleaned my cuticles so well and I will only get shellac when she applies it. Fast-forward 6 years and she is still my go-to! Not just because its Nordstrom, I would follow and refer her regardless of where she worked. She truly cares about me as her client and carries herself as if she was a Nordstrom herself. I've always been asked what my stand out Nordstrom experience was and it's honestly been the consistent experience and relationship I've had getting my nails done in the Nordstrom Spa. The spa interior isn't superior to other spa-like locations for the same price point so it's great people like Nina that keep me coming back. I don't know what I would do if she left! read more

This is probably the coolest Nordstroms that exist. You'll find that it carries much nicer clothing than many of the other branches. If you are into men's fashion expect to see brands all the way from basic Vineyard and Vines to top Fashion Houses like Saint Laurent and Givenchy and many in between. Many of the sales people and especially the ones in formal mens are pretty knowledgeable on clothing and fit, but sometimes I feel kind of inattentive especially when you are rocking the I just got up on Sunday and I probably work at Amazon with my sweat pants on look. read more

I'm traditionally a big Nordstrom advocate and I've spent a lot of money and time there over the years with excellent results, however my recent experience will be my last. I booked a personal shopping appointment for my mother, who was in from out of town, so we could pick out an outfit for a dinner she had coming up for her birthday. I made it very clear that we were coming in from out of town, that we wanted to pick out an outfit or two for her that my sister and I were going to purchase for her birthday, and sent our stylist details and information to help her with the appointment. We were matched with Jamie Mar in their personal styling department, and at first, the experience was great. We had a lot of fun chatting, she'd picked out many adorable things and my mom was having a great birthday "girl's day" and getting pampered a bit. However, when we got toward the end of the appointment, things took a very severe turn. Immediately after my mom tried on her last outfit, Jamie started asking her if she had a Nordstroms card. We said she didn't, as she's from out of town, doesn't have a Nordstrom near her and hadn't even been to the store before. Jamie became extremely pressuring and kept saying "Well you have to sign up, I mean you won't get your rewards on all your new purchases if you don't..." I told Jamie, politely, but firmly, that we didn't need a card, but instead we'd like to spend the time picking out which items we'd like to purchase. She then basically told me that my mother was a grown woman and could make her own decisions about what she needed, and then proceeded to pull her away to some room behind the personal styling area where my mom said she berated her and tried to force her into signing up for an account. My mom managed to only sign up for the debit card (which she doesn't even need as she hasn't, and I guarantee won't, be shopping there again). After the failed card attempt, Jamie came back into our room and asked if we wanted to "package everything up" - meaning literally what had to be at least $8k worth of items. I told her that we were going to pick out a few things, but we obviously couldn't afford to get everything. At which point, Jamie said something along the lines of "Well, your mother is missing several essential pieces that every woman should own, so maybe think about that before dismissing all the items." Thanks for the dig, lady. Every woman loves to be degraded on their birthday. At this point, the mood had switched from fun and lighthearted to really uncomfortable and awkward. We picked out a few outfits, and went to go pay at the back of the personal styling area. When Jamie say our selections, she looked at us and said, "Is this really it?" As if us picking out several hundreds of dollars worth of items wasn't even worth her time spent with us. She began ringing up the items I was paying for as a gift for my mother, and instead of folding them (despite it being premium denim, and a jack and a nice shirt) she balled them up and threw them into the Nordstrom bag. She didn't speak or make eye contact the entire time - no thank you, no asking how I'd like my receipt, no customer service of any kind. I felt like the scum of the earth for "only" spending $300 on items. My mother, after seeing her treatment of me, decided to not purchase her own several hundred dollars worth of items because of the poor treatment and instead said that we just wanted to take the things we'd already bought and leave. Jamie seemed shocked that we would possibly leave after being harassed, berated and in general having part of our day ruined, so I doubt that she'll be able to comprehend a bad review, but she not only lost a bigger sale that day, but also a life-long customer for Nordstrom. I don't usually write reviews but I can not take the service I received today at Nordstrom, Chanel specifically. The salesperson was a skinny and tall male, I don't remember his name. He was extremely impatient and judgmental. As a frequent shopper at this store, he is pretty new to the store. First of all, I was not very well dressed today. No make-up, hoodie, leggings, and sneakers. Nothing compared to the other customers in the store at the time. I approached him and asked him about a pair of earrings. In the beginning he was okay, he told me that they only had a small amount inventory. Then, I asked him about a specific pair of earrings I was looking for. He replied with a sarcastic tone, "We don't have the one you are looking, there are so many new styles," as if I don't deserve his help and attention. I was like okay... "What about bracelets, necklaces, or passport holder?", I asked. "It's all here," he replied impatiently. Seriously? He wasn't even looking at me and did not offer to look it up for me. Is this how a salesperson in Chanel should treat his/her customer? I was furious, I left and went to the Chanel in Neiman Marcus, Bellevue. A complete different story at Neiman Marcus. Even though the pair of earrings I was looking for wasn't in stock either, the saleswoman (a pregnant lady), took the time to take down my information and said she would let me know when it is in stock. I gladly purchased a number of items from her. I will never EVER go to the Chanel at Nordstrom again. To all the salespersons, don't judge a book by its cover. read more

***1 star rating for the Nordstrom flagship Cosmetics department only.*** I'm sorry to do this but having had my worst all time experience at the flagship Nordstrom, I've already mentally begun avoiding flagship altogether. I was honestly ashamed that I didn't believe the other folks who have reported being looked up and down or treated disrespectfully. I've loved Nordstrom and the Rack for years with very few salespeople ever even having the hint of a long day come into our interactions. Needed some new foundation and I have an odd routine for my skin but it works for me. Knowing it would take more attention than just your basic walk up to the counter, I used the online system to schedule a beauty expert appointment. I provided detailed information with my appointment booking to ensure a smooth, productive hour. The Unholy List #1 - Online beauty appointment system ended up messing up the date by 2 weeks. Technology blunders, eh? Happens to everyone at some point. #2 - Called the 800 number, and the gentleman says he will help, then transfers the call to the general Seattle store line so I start at the beginning again trying to fix the appointment. Okay, so he made a mistake, everyone has those days. #3 - Receive confirmation call for the appointment from the lady named Jo Hill, according to Nordstrom's systems. She introduces herself as Joanne and that Nordstrom just has her name messed up, with the tone implying they can't do anything right. No other stylist has a different name on the online system but okay. I explain I need a new foundation, my skin type, my unconventional addition of zinc oxide powder to my liquid foundation (absorbs oil and superior sun protection in one! with the offset that you'll need a bit more foundation so that your skin doesn't look too white). She talks over me about 3 times and has the tone that she knows what's what. #4 - "I told you NOT to wear makeup!" She is not embarrassed by her disrespectful tone in the middle of the main aisle way. I told her no sweat, I'll remove it. She then starts adding oil to my skin to remove my makeup before I have a chance to object. My skin is extremely oily and this oil feels and smells a bit like baby oil, which I find an unpleasant smell and a doubly unpleasant sensation to be covered in oil. I feel dirty and wish I'd never heard of a Nordstrom beauty expert. I sneak some of the Purell and use it on my face, which hurts like hell but I can do pain over feeling dirty. ...And now we begin not listening in earnest... #5 - The Clarisonic. She spends about 2-3 minutes on the absolute necessity of a Clarisonic. I tell her it didn't work for me, I prefer regular exfoliation. She stares at me as if I am stupid beyond words and begins the speech again. I finally get a word in edgewise and tell her that I'm simply not interested, let's move on to find my new foundation. #6 - The skin care lecture. I don't use moisturizer, which wasn't criminal the last time I checked. More staring down at the clearly stupid customer. This lecture is on a repeat cycle and I can't seem to communicate clearly I just want some foundation! She makes me so uncomfortable that I want to make an excuse and run...but then I'd be foundationless. #7 - I tell her upon arrival that I'm hopeless when it comes to color but I can tell you if I like it once it is on. She starts having me feel several foundations on my hand skin, which is truly nothing like my face skin. Soon my hands are covered in foundation, and she remembers tissue to wipe her own hands off but not mine. She adds bronzer where I explicitly asked her not to. #8 - Knowing that I like a matte foundation, she then suggests I go to Bobbi Brown. Yes, the same Bobbi Brown that doesn't believe in matte. I'm fairly certain that she sent me to one of Bobbi's beauty experts just to heard the same lecture on skin care and why it is better not to like matte. Same snobby tone and stare down. ...I finally escape after the appointment and brief interactions with a few others who all had 'attitude' and finally found a kind lady at MAC (of all places!) and settled on YSL but the gentleman was also kind and listened. I ended up with a product I'm not 100% happy with but it is good enough for now. What really bothers me is that I've relied on Nordstrom for years for all sorts of fashion help, and now I don't feel like I can trust them. Maybe I'm still too frustrated to be forgiving just yet. :( read more

NOTE: My review is only reflective of the Men's departments. I'm not always impressed with the selections that they have in The Rail, but once in a while I'll spot a couple of cute shirts and pants that are on the opposite end of the douche bag spectrum. Depending on which sales associate helps you, the shopping experience can be either pleasant or a pain. I recommend finding those veteran stylists and sticking to them. Since sales are commissioned, getting stuck with that seasonal employee helping you out can be annoying because they probably have terrible fashion sense and just care about selling you crap. The men's shoe selection is always great, especially for casual shoes. The guys that work in the shoe department are super helpful and in my opinion the best guys to work with when shopping at this Nordstrom. The men's fragrance section can be a hit or miss. Sometimes they don't have certain colognes in stock that are pretty standard to other department stores, which I find odd. Overall, there's no other place I prefer to shop as my first stop on shopping trips than this Nordstrom. Also, if you parked in the Pacific Place parking garage and spend at least $25 in Nordstrom, don't forget to get your ticket validated by the concierge on the 2nd floor. read more

I hate going to this Nordstrom. I live 4 blocks away from it and I don't like to dress up or wear heels when I am coming down the hill and the staff here completely judges people on the way they dress. I wanted to spend a lot of money on a bag here and the staff took 20 minutes to even come up and ask if I needed any help. They need to get over themselves. I used to work retail at a high end retail store, in my college days, and I ALWAYS greeted customers with a smile, regardless of the way they dressed and not because they were buying expensive clothes, it's because that is my personality. I treated everyone the same, whether they were buying $300 denim or $20 socks. They did the same thing when my boyfriend and I went to buy a suit for his sister's wedding. We were spending over 1K on the suit, regardless of the price, the associates should be helping you. I understand we were dressed casually, but this is Seattle! After a good 20 minutes of browsing, I had to go grab someone to tell them to help us. They finally realized that we were actually going to buy a suit and began to act nicely towards us. The Nordstrom staff at Southcenter mall is 100 times better at customer service.Not going back to the downtown store unless Southcenter held something for me downtown. read more

I have to say that I was sorely disappointed with my Nordstrom experience today. I've been to Nordstrom's all over the country, and I've been to this location a number of times. Considering their business model centers around great customer service and the "customer experience" and considering this is their "flagship store" the "original" Nordstrom, there was absolutely ZERO customer service experienced today! I live in lower Queen Anne, and decided I need to go shopping for a new bathing suit. The first place that came to mind was Nordstrom, so I made what is normally a short drive took me nearly an hour to get to Pacific Place in the unusually heavy traffic for a Thursday afternoon. I went down to the men's department on the bottom floor and looked around to find the shorts and swimsuits area. It was difficult to tell what was considered swimsuits and what was considered shorts. They had shorts that looked liked swimsuits, but had no liners on the inside. I wandered around this department for at least 20-25 minutes trying to get a feel for the selection. I was passed by 4 or 5 sales (customer service) people numerous times and not once did any of them acknowledge my existence. I couldn't believe it! "Is this Nordstrom's," I kept asking myself. I mean I was well dressed, I'm very educated and make more money than 5 Nordstrom sales reps combined and I can't even get a hello? In the end, I finally picked out a swimsuit, paid and walked out. The sales people were more interested in entertaining each other than helping customers. Ridiculous! read more

I would never refer to the bridal suite after the experience my sister had - and I worked for the flagship location so was extremely disappointed knowing the standard and the reputation they preach. Katie did not listen to what my sister wanted and was waaay too pushy. My sister said her budget was $2,000 and Katie showed her 1 dress in that range, the other 8 were $1,200+ over her budget so coming out of the room she already was defeated knowing she could not afford them. She left feeling disappointed and hating her whole experience. Katie was overly enthusiastic trying to sell a dress way out of the budget. When I'm ready to buy a dress, I will for sure NOT be going to Nordstrom and will NEVER recommend Katie. If your bride wants to leave in tears and disappointed, she's your girl! read more

It's nice to have a Nordstrom downtown. The only thing is it feels like the employees are busy hanging out with each other or are eager to keep their areas ready for close. I've started driving to Bellevue or Lynwood if I want to head to a Nordstrom. Not a big deal if you know what exactly you want and where it is. But for the times I would have liked some assistance, I felt like I was inconveniencing them. This is mainly in regards to the clothing department. I stopped by here to check out some shoes. I wasn't too serious about buying any but I knew they had classy options so I thought I'd check it out. The salesperson dropped by and asked me if he could help me; I asked him to get me a pair of Penguins in my size. He brought them over a few minutes later, and I was pleased they had my size. He opened the shoe for me and tied the laces; it was excellent service. He had also brought a similar-looking pair he said I might like. I would try those on later. In the meantime, we exchanged pleasantries. He asked me where I was from; I said I was from a particular suburb of Seattle. He mentioned living there but expressed glee at having left. He repeatedly emphasized his repulsion with my hometown, not with sympathy but with disgust. He clearly did everything in his power to avoid saying the word "ghetto." I found this conduct inexcusable, and actually inexplicable. Did I look wealthy, in which case he felt comfortable trashing on the lower classes? I'd take that as a mixed compliment at best. What if he was wrong; who's to say you can judge a person's socioeconomic status by the clothes they wear? I'm not particularly wealthy; I take pride in working hard and I didn't use daddy's trust fund to buy nice clothes. It must have helped that I was a white male like him. He clearly felt entitled to trash on the people "below" us on the latter - the people I went to school with but who might not have been as lucky as us two. Back to the shoes. I tried on the "suggested" pair he bought me. They looked good enough. I was happy with the $80 Penguins I'd already tried on, so I figured I might as well pick up these extras. He also brought me some liners to instead of socks. Off to the register, and he rung up my purchases. And the total comes to.. $400?!? What? I know the liners were both $18, and the Penguins were $80.. did I see that right? Oh. He brought me $240 shoes. You've got to be kidding me. Do I look like someone who would buy $240 designer brand shoes? It would have been simple to casually mention the price when he brought the box; no need to make a big deal of the price. If price were no object I could have ignored him; if I was sticking to a budget (and I was) I would have seriously reconsidered that purchase. So here I was, stuck with a $400 bill when I'd planned to spend about $100. I was frankly too embarrassed to ask him to take the designer shoes off the bill. I'll return them later. You can always count on the return policy at Nordstrom. Just don't count on the staff. I walked away disgusted with the salesperson's conduct, and somewhat ashamed to be grouped in a similar socioeconomic category as him. His arrogance and elitism was astounding. BEWARE!! YOU MAYBE PAYING FULL PRICE FOR A USED PRODUCT AT NORDSTROM. Nordstrom has a policy that they will sell an used/return item for a full price as long as they pass their "quality" test. This has happened to me several times. Most recently I bought a pair Steve Madden all leather riding boots for full price of $170 on line as the store didn't have my size. When I received my boots, you can clearly tell it was worn. The bottom of the boots were worn, sides were scuffed, and about a size bigger. The boots arrived in a plastic bag with no stuffing inside to hold the shape. It truly looks like something from the Kmart. I called the customer service and they said the full price items are "USUALLY" brand new but they can't guarantee it. Don't be fooled by the brand "Nordstrom". Their business practice is wrong to sell a used/return item and charge a full price. Clearly this is how they make $$$. I used to be a loyal customer but since I now know their business practice, I'll spend my hard earn money where I can trust I am getting what I paid for....full price for a brand product. read more

Oh Geeze 9_9 Let me start off the review with " 18th century inspired purple non functional swimsuit by juicy", good god in heaven. It's designed to fit a ten year old girl - maybe a ten year old hooker. I know juicy isn't conservative and they make girls clothes but I was in the older than ten department. It was a non-functional line of swimsuits for exploited children. I can think of no other way to describe the line. There was nothing for a chest, behind or hips. Not even the allotment a size three offers. It was a swimsuit line that looked tailored for starved, exploited little girls. My mom went into the plush section and everything there was so matronly it was depressing and condescending in it's dourness and loud colors. Perhaps I should go back in but between my bad hair day/laundry day and the sales people looking at me like a shoplifter because I wasn't wearing enough product in my hair- I just can't stand the place. They must work on commission because they would not leave me alone. Also condescending. to my mother directly by asking her what she was looking for exactly in a very loaded tone. We went looking for "exactly" ANY other store available. Their women's department consisted of random necklaces with one or two awkward rocks on fuax gold and peasant shirts with overly decal-ed pants. Several middle class mothers were inflicting mental trauma on their equally precious preteens and teenagers in the bathroom- the whole place was like a satirical skit on SNL. The cafe was like an okay Starbucks, so hardly worth it. read more

I'm surprised I haven't recommended Nordstrom sooner. Typically, I'm an online shopper but I my fiancé and I were eloping in Stockholm, Sweden on our 4th year anniversary in late January and we needed the perfect suits to prepare for this monumental occasion. I'm not a spendthrift by any means, but this was a very special occasion for us and we were having our photos taken professionally around Gamla Stan and the Grand Hotel Stockholm and we wanted to look as great as possible. After explaining the situation to a lovely associate named Cynthia in the men's formal department at the flag ship store, she was eager to help find matching luxurious modern suits. Lucky for us, we rolled in after the Men's Half Yearly sale so the good deals were great deals to be had. My husband obtained a Dolce & Gabbana trim suit and I ended up with an excellently fitting Zegna suit. It was a marvelous experience, she helped create a beautiful collection between the two of us with suits, ties, shoes, etc. If you'd like to see looks actually completely put together by Cynthia (with my husband's strong direction in colors and price limits) you can see our photos taken on the website Hochzeitsguide. Cynthia also did well not selling us on anything. For a sales associate, I believe it is typical for Nordstrom associates to be more accommodating and less salesy. My husband bluntly told her to find "two different pairs of matching brown dress shoes under $300" and she did just that. Each pair of shoes was $299, but again, to us it was worth it for this moment. The shoes match each other exceptionally well, as did our belts. The tailoring was also excellent. Cynthia's calm demeanor and jovial interactions with the tailor as he measured us was pleasant. The ensemble buying experience was very nice at the flagship store. Mostly, I'm an online shopper and I have never had problems with Nordstrom quality or return policies. Thanks for keeping me clothed! read more

Nordstrom's, and specifically this location, makes my wall of shame for one of the worst declines in product selection, quality, and service I have seen in business during the last 20 years. One time recently in the store, several months back, my observed behavior of the store manager totally shocked me. She seemed so annoyed and unengaged to have to deal with actual customers. I have been a life long customer, but this business has gone completely adrift from what I saw made it great many years ago. It is like they totally lost their values, principles, and way. It is so ironic that this location is supposed to be a flagship store, and it is actually one of the worst locations in the country. From my perspective, it may be the worst. I may buy something every now and then, but in general after going along for the ride for decades, I basically give up on counting on this store to be of value to me. What a pity. The leadership of this company should be ashamed of what they allowed to happen on their watch. A former great American brand is now something that means little to nothing to me. read more

Since the 2-star ratings on yelp equate to "Meh, I've experienced better" I feel like this is what the Nordstrom HQ store deserves. Of course being a Seattle tourist means the way we dropped in were we dressed as tourists with our Pikes Place merch. our Sound cruise gear and basically it was a dreary, damp, Washington afternoon. In any case, you would think that Nordstrom, being the leader in service would exemplify this trait in their HQ store but alas we merely looked over by almost associate in the store. No we didn't walk in carrying our Louis Vuitton bags nor did we bother to steam and press a suit to go shop. In essence we were merely dismissed by everyone in the store it seems just because we had wet umbrellas, anoraks, and tourists gear. Hearing about how great Nordstrom is we thought the men's department would be overflowing with hard-to-find labels or merchandise not readily available nationwide at other Nordstrom locales. Again we were disappointed to see the same ol' same ol'. I don't know how we were supposed to look in order to get the Nordstrom service but no one helped us we were browsed the Burberry bags, the Gucci jewelry, or even the cheaper stuff on the men's shoe side. The great thing is Nordstrom has free wifi so used our phones to locate the Gucci store nearby and that's where we got awesome service and actually purchased some wonderful things. Next time we are in Seattle I guess we'll be skipping Nordstrom. There's always Barney's next door too ! Nordstrom in downtown Seattle is one of the more luxurious ones I've seen. The store has it's own Chanel clothing section as well as accessories section. Other designer brands include Gucci handbags, salon shoes (Manalos, Louboutins, Pradas, etc.) and a pretty extensive Via C section (Alexander Wang, Phillip Lim, Tory Burch, Vince, Majestic, etc.). Perhaps this store is more stocked with premiere designers because other than Barneys across the street, there isn't another high end department store (e.g. no Neiman Marcus, no Bloomies, no Saks). read more

I hate to give Nordstrom's just one star, but having been a card carrying member of Nordstrom since the store was Best's Apparel (with Nordstrom having the shoe department) I would expect not to be excluded from at least one mailing for their special sales. While I knew the Anniversary Sale should be coming up, I didn't take the time to check online and lo and behold here it is halfway through, and I got no reminders or encouragement. Yes, I am a senior, but I still buy clothes and gifts and am so resentful, you cannot imagine. No I don't want 20 posts a day on fb, nor do I want 20 e-mails a day, and I don't want my mailbox loaded with Nordstrom flyers, but I do want SOMETHING letting me know you are still around, as I am. read more
