I have never left a review and I was an employee of Nordstrom almost 5yrs in Cosmetics..it was this past Sunday (Mother's day) I wanted to just have some time alone..I found myself in the jewelry dept of down town Nordies Seattle. I really didnt have a mission but was browsing for rose gold earnings. Randal (very suburban and just on his game) was easy to approach I asked him if there were rose gold earnings to look at. Randal showed me a few options and left me to decide no pressure(so appreciated this) I choice a pair and we spoke briefly I left them with him so I could look at another dept up stairs. I found a cardigan and knew I had to have it. I made my way down the elevator to collect my earnings from Randal. I found him to be so pleasant and just so keyed into what I needed and how I felt at the moment I purchased the earnings and cardigan. Nordstrom is so fortunes to have some one like Randal who is a professional and I was so fortune to have him there that day. read more

The flagship store is pretty great. It's HUGE and they have a ton of selection. I kinda hate the shoe system though... waiting for your number to be called? I mean, it works at it may be the only way to do it in such a huge demand it just feels so impersonal. Oh yeah, and nobody explains the whole 'take a ticket' system to you so a lot of people are really confused how to try on shoes. I'll probably just hit up the mall Nordstrom next time I want shoes. :\ Any other department though and I'm there! read more

They're professional and informative, they know their product, and they're happy to help. They're also dog-friendly! I love going to Nordstrom with my pup for a fun afternoon shopping. I always enjoy excellent customer service here. Their shoe repair is excellent too, I paid only $9 to have new tips put on a pair of my pumps, and they came back with a few extra fixes thrown in. Not a big shopper but accompanied my wife to the downtown Nordstom. I'm giving this place 5 stars because if their great customer service. I'm happy to see that nordstom is still holding its standard as far as service goes. The lady that helped us was attentive and pleasant and she greeted every single customer that walked by. She was very professional and courteous through the entire process. My wife agrees although she has had poor experiences in the Bellevue Nordstrom. This is how a Nordstrom should be run. The lady who helped me with my watch was extremely friendly and helpful. She wasn't a snot like a majority of the girls I encountered at their South Center location and wasn't put off by my bf's choice of attire for the day (sweats and hoodie) I didn't have to go hunt her down for 20 plus minutes to get rung up even though there was a bajillion people in her department. Store # 1! It felt great to be able to step into the first Nordies being a Nordstrom fanatic. However that day happened to be a beauty event and because of that it was chaos in the store. Honestly I was quite disappointed at the beauty event they held. It was so disorganized. I walked by the Dior counter to see if they had any new items, and one of the workers approached me and asked me if I wanted a make over. I said sure why not. She walked me over to where all the make up artists were, and she tried asking a few people. However, they all didn't seem to enthusiastic to do my make up. One girl basically said, "fine". She first tried to wow me by guessing which Dior eyeshadow I was wearing. She must have been color blind because she insisted that I was wearing the new spring pallette with the green. I was wearing brown eyeshadow.. Anyways she was totally lazy! She said my make up looked fine, and brushed on some Airflash, added eyeliner to the bottom of my eyes, and put on some mascara.. All took less than 5 min... If you guys didn't want to do my make up, why did you even offer?! I ended up buying a brush, lip gloss, and eyeliner which I have to all return! She gave my the wrong brush with a totally busted box.. She gave me the wrong color lip gloss AND the eyeliner which she said will not run, did. I looked like a panda for the rest of the day... I guess since it's Store #1 I expected way more. read more

Okay, so the Nordstrom shoe section is world - renowned and the flagship store did not disappoint. Sales staff was amazing and I was greeted at the door. Decided to invest in a lipstick that would forever remind me of my Seattle visit and was met by the most attentive sales persons at Chanel, YSL and Dior. Only purchased from one, but they all gave me equal attention and even gave me some dining/shopping tips for my trip. Thumbs up!!! read more

Nordstrom customer service is second to none! They carry quality products and stand behind the products they carry with a worry-free return policy. They also listen to their customer's concerns! There are a couple of great things about Nordstrom. One is the bra fittings. If you aren't sure if you're wearing the right size bra, go to Nordstrom and get fitted. I was off both in the band size and in several cup sizes, and the difference is amazing. They helped me find the right size and the styles and brands that would fit best, and told me how to tell if it fits right...and everything that was brought to me was from the sale rack. I think the sunglasses department at Nordstrom is great, too. I spent some time looking around and narrowing down my selection, and the sales person gave some valuable help without being obnoxious. I find the shoe department awfully disappointing, though. read more

There is a reason Nordstroms is always on top with their customer service. Never once have I ever had a negative experience here, everyone goes above and beyond for you. I personally, love the makeup artists and associates in the cosmetics department. They are super helpful and always willing to demonstrate products for you, they listen to your needs/wants, and don't get huffy when you decide you don't like something. But I admit I have seen some of them get a little ticked when someone "steals" their sale. If they don't have something in stock, they'll locate it for you or ship it to you. I just can't rave enough about the phenomenal service I get when I shop here. read more

I have been shopping here for too long and this store itself is as great as the old Marshall Field's in downtown Chicago (i miss that store too!), had so much variety throughout and the windows were just gorgeous for window shopping, I would move to Seattle just to be close to this store! Hands down my favorite department store. They seem to have a considerable amount of construction going on at this location. Once complete it should be much easier to shop. We were in the area going to a show and decided to stop in to the Original Nordstrom's to check things out. Plus, I lost my wedding ring a few weeks ago so we decided to take a look at those. The men's ring selection was poor but the store itself was quite nice. I've been a fan of Nordstrom's for some time so it was cool to see this store. Boo Nordstrom. My order was not received within the 3-8 days which was printed on my receipt. I called to find out the status and was told the salesperson forgot to fulfill the order. I told the customer service rep their employee dropped the ball and she agreed she did. The customer service person told me I could replace the order. She said she would let the makeup counter know the order was not fulfilled. Please explain how that will help me?! I am not going to come back into the store and replace an order. What an utter waste of my time and a bad customer service experience. read more

This place is AWFUL. Seriously awful. Can't get help in shoes, and we were here for the anniversary sale. Melissa McCarthy showed up and people went crazy. So then security was out of control. So, can't shop in the section where her clothes are actually sold. And staff staring at you like you're a criminal. I've always been on the fence about shopping here. Well, this experience pushed me over the edge. Will not return. Here's some advice: before you host a celebrity, get your security and crowd control in order first, so you don't have to scream at people. Very off putting at a department store. Good evening Nordstrom Online, I'm extremely upset with the level of customer service I received tonight with Mary M supervisor on duty. I purchased two pairs of shoes online on 11/27/19, and just I received one pair on Sunday Dec 8, 2019. On Dec 11, 2019, they reduced the price down to 60% off. I call and asked for a price adjustment. I was told since my size wasn't available the answer was no due to company policy. I was shocked at Nordstrom's lack of customer service. You never say NO to a customer, instead give them options. Building relationships in retail business is so important in today's environment because consumers have many options. A $74.00 adjustment will not close down Nordstrom, if so we have a problem. When I tried to explain to the manager that I don't even have my other pair of shoes in my possession. She kept reciting the policy. I hung up the phone and looked online to see if the shoe were sale at another store. Neiman Marcus had the shoes for a higher price. I explained my situation regarding my size not being available to do a price adjustment. Neiman Marcus said no problem we will take care of you because of you being a loyalty customer and matched the Nordstrom price. They also Fedex my shoe to calm me down, off of Nordstrom lack of customer service. In addition, I spent thousands of dollars on Sunday night at the private sale Dec 8, 2019. Tomorrow I will be returning everything and closing my account. I've been a member for over 15 years. read more

NORDSTROM WEDDING SUITE I was so excited to schedule a bridesmaid styling appointment for my bridesmaids and I, especially at Nordstrom because of their stellar customer service and selections! I was in communication with a stylist at the wedding suite via email several weeks prior to the appointment, in which they asked for information regarding my wedding dress (which I had already found elsewhere), my colors, theme, etc. I would have been more impressed had they not changed stylists on me three different times and lost some of the info, in which I had to resend it. When we got to the appointment, our stylist had already pulled some dresses that she thought we'd like based on the information I had given her so we were excited to get started. Right off the bat, I was disappointed. I had all 5 of my maids with me and we had to share the suite with another group. Granted, the other group was smaller than ours, but I was so surprised that they would schedule appointments together that way. The other group had their own stylist, so I guess we should be grateful we didn't have to share her! But it took away from the experience for sure. The dresses Katie pulled were okay...but I had informed her before that the theme was non-traditional, I wanted all the maids to wear something different, and it was like all of the dresses were too matronly or out-dated. We ended up going to B.P. and found the dresses we wanted! Which turned out great because we spent less money than we had anticipated. But I felt like the service we received was not typical Nordstrom service. I was told in the beginning (by all of the changing stylists) that our appointment would be a "bridesmaid styling" appointment, which meant accessories, shoes, and the dress. But we weren't offered to try on any jewelry or shoes. And my girls weren't even offered a strapless bra to help with trying their dresses on! When I finally asked for one for my friend, our stylist blurted out "Sure, what's your size?" That may have been fine had there not been other strangers in the suite, but it was embarrassing for my friend. Overall, I expected much more from this appointment and recommend to any soon-to-be brides that if you want the "bridal salon" experience with great customer service, go to an actual bridal salon. Go see Kim A. in Chanel Ready to Wear! He is amazing. Actually amazing is an understatement. Very down to earth and friendly (not sharky). There was one Chanel bag left in the company and it wasn't in our state and he was able to get it for my sister! It made us so happy and we just could not believe he would do that for us. He was very attentive and got us water, made sure we were comfortable, showed us all of the latest products. Really made us feel special. read more

I love you, Seattle Flagship Nordstrom. But I miss you. Ever since my career change forced me into a different tax bracket in 2009, I've been cheating on you with Target and Old Navy. Instead of Jimmy Choos, Seven Jeans, and other fancy-schmancy name brand items, I've been stocking up on cheap (but cute) clothes and shoes. So much so, that I may never be able to justify spending money high end style ever again. HOWEVER, I am loyal to your Dior Cosmetics counter, and have been for years. Forget the Target makeup aisle, it's all about the Dior Airflash and Skinflash. The make-up artists/staff are super knowledgeable and friendly. Of course they try to upsell you because they work on commission, but who cares-they're sweet. Go in sans make-up and you'll walk out looking flawless once they're done with you. read more

This flagship Nordstrom features an aquarium. You don't need to go to the Seattle Aquarium to see the fishes. You can just go to Nordies to find your Zen. Don't attempt to find Zen during anniversary sale time. You will not find your Zen there. You may, however, find silver shoes to wear with your bridesmaid's dress. Or maybe that's just me. read more

But my review is primarily for the service I received - Laura in the women's (active) department is awesome! As a former retail employee, I can understand how hectic closing can get, and while Laura had the highest sense of urgency completing her tasks, she still had the time to greet me and ask how I was doing. They have a great selection of high end brands, but I was looking for high end socks. They do not have high end socks. They did however have a better selection online. The staff is friendly, but hard to get attention during peak hours. They also work on commission and might push another item rather than the one you want. read more

I'm torn about Nordstrom, I really am. I'm not sure whether the service is friendly or overbearing and annoying (I know they're nice only because they want to make commission), I'm not sure whether the prices are inflated or worth it ($30 for a blank T-Shirt is outrageous, yet $50 for a decent pair of jeans is great), and I'm really not sure whether I should feel bad about myself or entitled to take advantage of their awesome return policy. But I will agree that their bathrooms are the best in downtown Seattle...though that title would probably go to Macy's if it weren't so overrun by hobos. read more

The homeland. The shoe department on Saturday is a crazy, auction-like atmosphere with a man handing out numbers and calling over associates on a microphone. You thrust your sample shoe in the air, and someone runs over. I love it. I wasn't even there during the semi-annual sale, so I can only imagine what it would be like then. I love Nordstrom. I rack up the points with my Nordstrom card. I even worked there in College to get discounts. But this experience sold me on it. So I am scouring the Salon Shoes department (the pricey designer shoes) because you can occasionally find some great finds. I come across the most beautiful shoe..seriously I've dreamt of this particular shoe, but its over $700 bucks so it has just been a fantasy. Anyways, they fit me perfectly, look amazing and are actually comfortable. One problem: They couldn't find the match. I begged the salesman to scour the racks and he literally recruited 2 more guys to help him out..but they just couldn't find it. So he goes and looks it up and sure enough the Bellevue store has it, gives them a call and they say "Yes, well, we have it but we only have one of the shoes" ahahaha. I tell Matthew "I HAVE TO HAVE THESE. But I am visiting and staying downtown and I can't get to Bellevue" He tells me, we will figure it out..I will find someone who drives by there or I will do it myself, when do you need them?" "err tomorrow for this New Years Eve wedding I am going to.." "Hmm, this will be tricky but we will figure it out. How about I give you a call tomorrow if/when we get hold of it" Awesome So it is the next day around noon and I get a call...sure enough it is Matthew! I run over to Nordies and there are my shoes, perfect, not even a mark on the shoes. I slip them on, and like Cinderella, I am in love. So he packs them up, takes me to the register and how much do they come to..$220 with tax. SERIOUSLY. Matthew then introduces me to the guy who drove the Bellevue store and hand carried them as he drove to work instead of taking the bus. I am forever thankful for these guys. I am truly in love with these shoes and will cherish them forever. THAT is customer service, beyond customer service! I don't know how you can top that. Even if I am just having everyday experiences, this Nordstrom rocks. Granted it is Store 1 but they have definitely kept it up. Major props for the huge entire floor of Men's products..my dad continues to look fashionable without even getting anything taken in (he is like 5'7 athletic build). Without having this review turn into a complete generalization of Nordstrom...I'd rather use what I'm about to say as an ANALOGY. I compare Nordstrom to what I think the LOVELY PEOPLE OF SEATTLE are idealistically primed to be:clean, cultured, rich (but not too POMPOUS), and generally friendly to all visitors. They close at 8pm on Mondays! I can't wait for the one in The Woodlands to be completed.
