Stopped in for some Thai food after a day at the beach! The parking lot is tiny so you may have to park elsewhere if it's really busy. The service was fast. We had a group of 7 and they were able to seat us immediately. There was a big selection of food and everybody was able to find something that they wanted, even our vegetarian friend! Ultimately, I've had better Thai food in other cities, so that's why it's only a 4-star rating and not a 5-star, but I would go back here again and would definitely recommend it! read more

We stopped by last night around 9:05 amd they close at 10pm as it says not only on door but online & website. We were told only takeout and bad attitude when I asked why there door says 10pm. If you changed your times to takeout only after 9pm then you need to update where you advertise your times. It is false advertising and while we were originally disappointed we decided not to even do takeout after being treated as we were not wanted. We live in Madeira Beach and as a local I support restaurants who provide good service & unfortunately this is not one of them. read more

Nori Thai has some of the best Thai I have ever eaten. We got the Thai spring rolls which were good, a bowl of the Tom Yum soup which was some the best I've had and the spicy basil dish which was so tasty, full of peppers, and cooked perfectly. We always get Thai at least once on our yearly vacation to St Pete and made the mistake of the "other" Thai place there last year but have realized our error and will only patronize Nori from now on. read more

This is a cute little spot. The inside is super nice and the restrooms are very clean. The service was very attentive and good. The menu is very big and includes sushi, thai, and chinese. I found this restaurant on yelp with 4stars, I got so excited but it was an disappointed. We ordered pad Thai, Panang curry, pepper Steak, and fisherman pot. It was all so salty. Especially the fisherman catch pot. The glass noodle was so over cooked that it didn't make it as noodle, it was all falling apart!!. So be ware of that dish!. Pad Thai was so watery and the noodle was so small so it not like authentic Pad thai. It was not a usually that I normally have. They get 2 stars because the servers was very nice and kept checking in. I told them that it was salty and they acted so surprised. So it's like weird!! Not coming back for sure!!. read more

Nori Thai is on the north end of St Pete Beach in a small strip mall next to Rip Tides and across the street from a Winn Dixie supermarket. Parking is a little tight, but don't be tempted to park next door in Mermaids or across at Winn Dixie as you will probably get towed. For my review, we'll save the best for last, which is the food. The interior of the place is very dated. It's a collection of small tables and chairs with some booths along the walls; they all look like they're from the early 90's, some of the seating is torn, some torn, patched and torn again. The bathrooms are reasonably clean most of the time but not exactly somewhere I'd want to change my baby, although with no baby changing table, I guess that won't come up either way. The only real decorations are the random stereotypical elephant-based tapestries you see in nearly every Thai restaurant. None of this is really all that important compared to the food and service, just wanted to let you know what to expect. The service is typically nice and attentive. Have not had a bad server experience yet. Now, the food & drinks. There are two Thai places on St Pete Beach, the other being Basil Leaf, and both have the unusual characteristic of also having a sushi bar. If you're only looking at this review from a sushi perspective, there's a third place for that, which is Blue Fugu Japanese Steakhouse. For strictly sushi, I prefer Basil Leaf. If you have any liquor drinkers in your party, you should know that only Blue Fugu has liquor, the other two are just beer, wine and sake. Anyway, I find that I like Nori Thai and Basil Leaf about equally. They both have excellent food, however, the interesting thing is that one or the other may do a particular entree completely different, and it may taste completely different. I'm not going to turn my review into an A-B comparison for each line item on the menu, so I'll just say you'll simply have to try both (if you're a local) and figure out which one you prefer for the types of things you typically order. If you're on vacation, I don't think you can go wrong with either one, so just check their menus online and pick based on what you see, you'll probably be happy either way. Basil Leaf is definitely much nicer inside from a decor perspective. One menu item I've found differs dramatically enough to make mention of it; that's the panang curries. I love panang chicken and it's typically the first thing I try at any Thai restaurant. If you look at my pictures for both restaurants, you'll find that the chicken panang looks nothing like one another. At Nori Thai, the coconut milk takes a much lesser role, so you will not taste coconut anywhere near as much as is typical at most Thai restaurants. There is also less of the curry, where Basil Leaf's entree comes out with the meat and veggies nearly submerged in it. I've found both to taste excellent, they just don't taste anything like one another. You get plenty of white rice included to eat up all the main dish so that's not an issue either way. Completely unrelated is Nori Thai's hot & sour soup. If you're accustomed to Japanese hot & sour, make sure you understand that Thai hot & sour is not the same or even similar. Nori's tastes strongly like orange fruit, and is not particularly spicy. It's very good though, just want to make people aware that if all they've had is Japanese/Chinese hot & sour, this is not that. It's fairly filling too as theirs has large chunks of chicken, big mushrooms, etc. read more

We were in St. Pete's beach for a wedding and really wanted sushi. Nori was recommended to us by a local. We ordered the fried rice, salmon sashimi, Mama roll, salmon roll, Nina roll, Lisa roll, autumn roll, and the deep blue roll. It was all very delicious! Extremely fresh. Our favorite was the deep blue roll, which we ordered a second order of it! Everything was beautifully presented, in a sushi boat. Our waitress, Lisa, was super sweet and so awesome! Everything was super sweet. My husband ordered Pad Thai and couldn't eat it. It was so sweet tasting. Thankfully, they took it off our bill. He ordered Orange Chicken and it was better, but still so sweet tasting. The Chicken Satay was okay, not the best. The fried rice was just white rice with a little bit of egg. We used to dine there quite often, but now with popularity, they are way overcrowded and unable to cope. As a result, the food quality has dropped, service is very slow, and the waitress we had was downright rude. They are stuck in a too small place. There is no place to walk, sit, or wait for take-out. After two solid weeks of seafood, we wanted a change. We decided on Thai and went for the highest yelp rated "Thai" restaurant in St. Pete Beach (there are three). Nori Thai also has a small sushi bar in the dining room, which is also small, perhaps around a dozen tables. It has booths and tables. The later can be pulled together to provided seating for larger groups. We went with a pad thai tofu (my Thai benchmark) and Thuy chose red curry. The Pad Thai was OK. It was a bit more sweet and had a bit too much tamarind for my taste. A little dried pepper flakes fixed it right up. Curry was also a good solid dish. Nothing that blew us away, but completely satisfying. We were glad we came and would not hesitate to come back. However, I would likely visit the other Thai restaurants on the beach before returning (just to get to the bottom of all the Thai options - Perhaps that will be my mission nest time I am here). Lastly, I suspect if you are a regular here, you will get stellar personal service. Our experience was different. Our server disappeared for long periods of time (despite the fact that it was not that busy) and another server was involved in such a long and loud conversation with another table it took away from our meal. read more

Here on June 11th we have gone to dinner with cousins. The four of us loved the place. The food was enjoyable and plenty. We had everything we could imagine and brought home some leftovers. It was appetizers, curries and dinner. Fresh and healthy and ready to go. We shall be back. It is a great team and wonderful meals. read more
