I have leased and purchased quite a few vehicles over time. This is the worst company ever. The GM is where the arrogance begins. He believes they do nothing wrong and tries to make the customer feel that them getting service is a favor. Instead of listening and understanding the problem, he choses to simply tell you what you did wrong to create the situation. At no point does he grasp the obvious situation at hand and work to resolve it, but continues to try to dominate the conversation and tell you all the important people he knows and has taken corporate cruises. I just purchased a 2014 Mazda CX-5. Rodney King was my salesman. He was easy to work with. Kind, honest and good at what he does. I have purchased cars in the past and have been taken advantage of because I am a female. He never gave me the impression that he was in it for the money but rather he was trying to find me a car that ran great and fit my needs. The low stars on here don't make any sense to me because Rodney was great! He has something that many car salesman lack and that's integrity! If I ever purchase another car, I would definitely do business with Rodney at Freeman Mazda. When I went to pick up my car, he drove me around the entire facility to show me where everything was, in case I ever needed to bring my car in to be serviced. I came here to get my car serviced for the 30K service. Previously I purchased my tires at pep boys. The service guy noticed I had new tires and tried to charge me for a wheel alignment. I may not be that knowledgable about cars but I do know, it's standard practice to get the tires wheel alignment done after installation. Because he was serious, I will never use their service again. They clearly have people working there who know nothing about cars and simply charge for the service. Funny thing is, when I told him I don't want the alignment because I'm sure they performed it after installation, he comes back and tells me I need a new dry belt and charges me over $200. Freeman's Service Department took me for a ride. Came in for regular service check @ 30,000. miles; service consultant said the "package" for all services is $575. Stepped back from the sticker shock and said I would have to think about this; then, with the spirit of compromise, the rep said all services may not be needed now, each item could be considered on its own merit. From a later phone call,items were reviewed and I was told the cost would be $325 to 350 + tax. . Came back after the checkup and the cost was $499. Nothing was fixed, the $350+ tax had morphed in to $499. just short of the "total package". The tax was not $149. I don't know if this was bait and switch or just basic prevarication. Was the service consultant out of line or is this just the way the dealership treats it's customer? Not sure it matters, I do know they destroyed all of the goodwill I had with this business. read more

I turned in my leased Mazda on March 11th. I have misplaced my turn in paperwork due to moving so I decided to call and get my paperwork faxed over. I have called 3 times. The first time I was transferred so many times and was on hold for 30 minutes. The second time I got a voicemail and it was never returned. Today I called and talk to a man in finance. He asked me who I turned my car into, when I said I don't remember it was 6 months ago he said well what did he look like... I'm not sure anyone would remember someone they talked to for 5 minutes 6 months ago. He said without that info he cannot help me. He said "with Covid and everything ya we probably don't have your paperwork" how does a business not keep a file of people turning in their leased vehicles?? He got my name and number end said he'd let me know if he found anything but I find it very unlike he is looking. I worked in the car industry before, so for one I know they have a record of me turning in my car and two this is the worst level of costumer service I have ever seen. If I don't hear back from them I will just have to come in and speak with the general manager I guess. And if they don't have my paperwork... well that sounds like a bigger problem on their end. read more

Got burned once 2years ago by Freeman when I showed up to see a car. Got turned away because they closed 1 hr early and no sales staff. Thought to give Freeman another chance. Called them to see if the car I was looking for was in stock. The sales lady told me that the car was available and several to view/test drive. I drove over 30 minutes to see the car. When I got there, I was told that the car was not available and they had not passed inspection so they could not show me. Freeman Mazda in Irving has no customer service! They even told me to buy the same model car in 2015 since it was same thing! Really? I was looking for 2016! Guess it was dumb to think of buying a car at a car dealership...Oh well, I will never return to anything Freeman! I don't even want to give them a one star. read more

Really great service! Brought my car here after another dealership was unable to figure out why a few "idiot lights" were on in my Mazda. Within 2 hours they had it solved and within 4 hours it was fixed and ready to go. All covered by warranty. Couldn't be happier with my limited experience here. I would absolutely recommend Freeman Mazda for purchasing and service. Their customer service was stellar in every department that I have interacted with and they gave me a fair price for the car and repairs needed. Even the phone operator sounds like she's smiling about transferring your call! Their communication is also exceptional. Always personalized, timely and appropriately professional. It seems like a few of the older reviews listed here are not as good and that the newer ones are better. I felt a good, long review was necessary to highlight their strengths. Maybe some internal changes have been made over the last few years. Whatever the reasoning for that, I would give them a try. If I didn't live an hour away now, I would take my car there for all my service needs. The details of my experiences at this dealership are listed below, if one would like more information on my personal experience. I purchased my 2010 Mazda3 here as a used vehicle in February 2014. I was impressed with the professional and personalized service level of Jim DeBoer in Pre-owned Sales. I had a trade in, which they matched the appraisal value for that I received elsewhere. The finance department was also informative, patient, and accommodating since the trade in title was listed in my mother's name. I felt that I bought my car at a fair price and that it was well taken care of. I have not experienced any nasty surprises with my used car. Since purchasing my car, the salesperson has kept in contact to check on how my vehicle his doing. I appreciate that I receive emails instead of obnoxious phone calls at inconvenient times. This allows me to respond on my own time. And not once have I received an annoying, inapplicable email to sell me more stuff or persuade me to buy a more expensive vehicle. I really appreciate that and perceive it as respectful. Recently, I needed repairs completed on my shifting assembly. This had nothing to do with the integrity of the vehicle itself but an externally caused issue so I would not lower my grade for Mazda vehicles themselves. The first quote I received from a private mechanic near home for this was over $1,000. Next, I called another Mazda dealer closer to home and their quote was over $700 and never mentioned an alternate, more affordable solution and also did not provide a courtesy transportation solution for me during my repair. Last, I spoke to Freeman Mazda and they offered an alternate, more cost-effective solution possibility (less than 20% of what I would have paid with the private mechanic) AND a lower price quote for worst-case scenario, which was half of the original quote I received for the same work. The service department emailed with me to communicate most effectively and timely for my schedule. Even Jim who sold my car to me stayed in touch to make sure that my car and I were taken care of in Service. They got my car in quickly and provided a loaner vehicle in great condition during the repair. Having children, a job that requires me to change locations throughout my day, and a low budget made this almost a necessity for my situation. Unfortunately, the more cost effective solution did not work for my car after I had picked it up (not actually their fault; they tried) so I ended up needing to take it back but the service department was fully accommodating to get me in when they had a loaner vehicle available and credited me the amount that I had already paid for the first repair. AND in the middle of all of that, I received a coupon from them for a free car detailing, which they added on with no problem to be completed while my car was there. Additionally, my car was ready almost a day earlier than anticipated. The detailing was pristine and my car is functioning great! Every single employee that I have passed or spoken with on the phone has been pleasant and friendly. I've experienced many dealerships in DFW and have never received as good customer service as I have at Freeman Mazda. read more

I live out of town and purchased a car sight unseen from Russ Cooper at Freeman Mazda in Irving Texas. Buying a car without driving it is always concerning but with the help of Russ and his honest, and attentive assistance the experience went very well. I wanted a car that was hard to find in the trim level and color I wanted so I needed to buy the car out of my area. Russ described the car for me in great detail and helped me set up a third-party inspection (Lemon Squad) to give me further assurances that the car was in good shape. Once I decided to purchase the vehicle Russ and the finance department at Freeman moved quickly to send the paperwork and set up a shipping delivery for me. They made it fast and easy and I felt very assured I was getting a great car at a great price with minimal hassle. I took my daughter to Freeman Mazda to buy a car she saw on line. When we saw it, it had a rock chip in the windshield and in the line of sight. But Mike, the salesman said it passed inspection. So, yeah. Sure. The tires were down to their wear bars too, but again, it just passed inspection at Freeman Mazda. How convenient. She got really screwed. Mike was on his phone looking at Facebook the whole time. It was a pathetic dealership. The sales staff really need to go and take a customer service class somewhere. I called and wanted to talk to a service manager. She bought the car because my daughter really wanted it. Get this. The plates came in and that sorry ass Mike didn't mail the plates to her. She had to take a day off to drive from Waco to Irving to get her plates put on. DO NOT waste your time going to Freeman Mazda. I promise you that you'll thank me for not going. read more

Was very interested in a vehicle here, but the salesman, Roland, on the used car side was very uninterested in selling it. Besides the hail damage that was not noted for the vehicle on their websites, there were several safety issues that both the sales person and managers would not fix. They said they are at their lowest price on the car and they've already discounted it. When I told them that the current "discounted" price doesn't put into account the safety problems I pointed out and the price is now only comparable with others like it in the area, I was told that used cars can't be compared and then told "this is the car and it's sold as-is. If you'd like to buy it in its current condition, I'll sell it to you." Needless to say I walked away. I got a call from a manager the next day who asked if there was anything they can do to help, I replied that I was interested in the car I went for but they were not willing to fix 2 problems for me and I'm no longer interested. Instead of trying to win my business, this manager simply says "ok, have a nice day." And hangs up. I'm not sure how it is on the new car side but the entire experience for me was quite disappointing. read more

Total Rip-Off.. will think twice before visiting them again for repairs. Went in to the Dealership on December 31, 2015, and told them upfront that I had a check engine light code that suggested the thermostat needed to be replaced. They said that they will still perform a diagnostics to see if anything else is wrong. The front desk folks are very friendly and hospitable. But the repairs turned out extremely cost prohibitive, left me feeling ripped off. I don't see how they could charge me $550 for diagnosing and replacing a bad thermostat! read more

Everyone I have dealt with or spoken to (Terri, Angela, Cliff, and the receptionist) in the service department has been very professional, courteous, and helpful. In my first experience, I was given royal treatment, and I was quite impressed. I had my daughter with me, and they treated us with immense kindness & consideration. They facilitated the process as best as possible & made doing business a pleasure. The second time, I received the same professional, courteous treatment. On top of being very efficient with the actual repair or maintenance, they aren't aggressive with suggested repairs. They also wash your car afterwards. I just purchased a 2019 Mazda 3 Hatchback. I worked with Steven Van Looy. This was the best experience I've had buying a car. Steven was patient, informative and extremely concerned about me being happy with the process. I didn't feel pressured at all. His sales manager Martin came out to speak to me to make sure that all of the options available to me were in fact what I wanted. Martin wanted to be sure that I received what I needed on my trade to make the deal comfortable for me to manage. Steven explained every detail of the process and gave me the opportunity and privacy to think and make a decision. When I got to the finance office I worked with Rodney and he was exactly like Steven and Martin. He was patient and took the time and interest in making sure I didn't move forward until I felt comfortable. They had to bring my car from another dealership in South Texas. Both Steven and Martin stayed in contact with me about when the car would arrive. Instead of me making the long drive out to Irving when the car arrived Steven brought it to my office in uptown Dallas. The car was perfect! When I tell you that I had the very best sales guy in the state I am telling you the TRUTH! Off the cuff, late on a Monday afternoon, I decided to search a Mazda 3 on the internet just to see what they were priced at. Freeman Mazda happened to have one on sale at a great deal. So, I went ahead and emailed for information on it. Within 10 minutes I had an email response from John Iorio. We emailed back and forth that evening. He gathered the information on my trade as well as what I planned for my down payment. He then had me fill out a pre-qual form. By noon the next day the finance guy had called to inform me he'd have no problem getting me approved for a loan at the payment I needed. He asked when I would like to come down and speak with them. I was free that evening so I went. When I arrived they had the black 2012 Mazda 3 I wanted waiting for me to test drive. I fell in love with the car but knew I had to keep within my original payment expectations. They made an offer on my trade but it wasn't quite enough to get me at the payment I needed. They suggested I take the Mazda 3 home with me that night and they would have a bidder place a bid on my trade the next day. They were confident the deal would work. Wednesday evening I went back down and, sure enough, they had worked the numbers to meet my needs. I was given a fair price on my trade and the deal was done. At no point did I ever feel that I was under any pressure what so ever. The salesman, Harry, was a joy to work with, as was Mike, the finance guy. Every aspect of my experience at Freeman was great! I had a problem with my 2014 CX-5. Fortunately, I made it home, had it towed to Feeman and they promptly called me and told me what the problem was. They could repair it that evening but needed a cold start the next morning. I was having a very minor medial procedure the next day, but couldn't drive the entire day. I had a great buying experience with Mary and they had the vehicle I wanted for what I think was a relatively fair price. Everything was set to go, or so I thought. I was pre-approved through my credit union for over twice what the car was worth and for the apt I wanted. I was asked to wait in the finance waiting room. As I sat there for over an hour, my phone started going off notifying me there were credit inquiries from 5 different places I had never heard of. Once I entered the financing office, I found out the dealership took it upon themselves to run my credit to as they put it"save me some money". They assured me this was "common practice" as a "courtesy" to their customers to save them some money on interest. Now I have 5 credit inquiries on my credit that I did not want, did not authorize, and knew nothing about until they took the liberty of making financial decisions on my behalf. I probably would not know about it if I was not on top of my finances as I can almost guarantee they would not have told me they did this. I feel this just furthers the car dealership stereotype that they have. I actually think it is illegal for them to do what they did but I will have to look into that. I would not shop there and if you do decide to purchase from them, buyer beware. read more

I always come here to service my Mazdas since it's close to work and they do good work. My latest experience was not as good. I noticed someone new there who annoyed me. He also wanted to advise me to get an oil change which I had just gotten a month ago with still 1,500 - 2,000 miles left for the next change. It was even with synthetic which can go longer without a change. I would not advice selling a service that your customers don't need. At least he called me back for over charging me before I noticed the difference, that is why 4 stars and not 3. read more

DO NOT BUY FROM THEM. They gave me a quote for Skyactive Mazda3 iTouring on the phone and said they would match it to any other dealer (just to get me there). When I reached there, they even gave me a test drive for Skyactive Mazda3 iTouring. When we discussed about the price, the manager came in and said you cannot get Skyactive for that price. If they couldn't afford it, why did they call me there and waste my 3 hours? Do not trust anything they say on the phone. They just want people to come to the dealership thinking they'll then buy the car at their price. If I could, I would have rated them a 0. I rather recommend Town North. They were very friendly and stuck to their words. read more

I've been a moderately longtime customer for service at Freeman Mazda in Irving Texas. Last month I took my car on for maintenance and oil change. Supposedly that included all points thorough inspection. My service report came back with no problems. One of the inspection points was for the Air Conditioning system and hoses for leaks and damage which had no problems found. So yesterday I take my car in because my A/C isn't blowing cold and it turns out there is a part called the low side pressure line part is worn/damaged and my freon has leaked. This after only driving 1,000 miles since the "thorough" inspection. These folks would not admit that they overlooked the part of my maintenance check...and boldly want to charge me $675 to replace the part...over $200 more than other reputable service shops. They apparently only stand by their work until there's a problem. Stay away. read more
