First up, the pirogies--holy moly, these little pockets of joy were just unreal. Perfectly soft, stuffed to the brim, and fried up just right. I'm pretty sure if my tasted these, she'd give a polite nod and say, "Not bad, eh?" Then came the pot roast poutine, and let me tell ya--this isn't just food, it's a life experience. You've got those crispy fries, squeaky cheese curds (as they should be, eh!), and gravy so rich it could probably pay rent in Toronto. And then--BAM--tender pot roast on top. I nearly stood up and sang "O Canada," no joke. Now the Canadian Eggs Benedict? Ohhh, beauty. The peameal bacon was thick, juicy, and cooked just right, sittin' pretty under those poached eggs with hollandaise sauce that was smoother than a fresh sheet of ice. Absolute perfection, eh. And don't even get me started on the everyday breakfast. Classic, hearty, and no funny business--just how we like it. Eggs done right, toast that actually tastes like toast (imagine that!), and portions big enough to fuel ya through a full day of shovelin' snow... or, you know, strolling around Dallas. All in all, Maple Leaf Diner absolutely crushed it. Let me tell ya, the service was so fast and smooth, I thought I was dreaming eh. Great food, friendly vibes, and enough Canadian charm to make ya wanna say "sorry" when someone else bumps into you. 10/10, would recommend--now pass the syrup, eh?

Over the years, They have added grilled items that are quite tasty, but Ima go for the fried anything along with mashies, baked beans, etc. The chicken and dumplings are heaven on earth anytime of the year. Prices are decent, considering the economy these days. If you dine in, there's staff that are happy to help you get your grub to the table, will make sure you have butter and honey for the fluffy buns, and smile no matter how busy it gets. Leaving a buck or 2 is not expected, but a nice gesture for their efforts. Blanca sez check'em out!

Noticed ladies working in the dining room to assure tables are clean as soon as customers leave. Once your meal is ready, they will call your name or someone will bring it to your table. Retro decor. Loved the music. Located across from SMU. You have the college crowd, residents from the neighborhood, grandparents with their grandchildren, and drive thru all buzzing with conversation. I found the chicken livers lightly battered, crispy on the outside and very tender meat on the inside. Mashed potatoes, gravy, and green beans were my sides. All tasty. Add additional seasonings and pepper sauce if you prefer. Be sure to check out the banana pudding. I requested extra meringue. Dessert was made fresh and tasted great. Pick-up, drive through, or dine in. Side note: Although there is no place for a tip when paying for your order... I always leave a tip on the table or hand it to the ladies working there. Much deserved for their hard work, friendly smiles, and pleasant attitude.

I'm in a powered wheelchair and they had no issue seating me somewhere comfortable. I ordered the, "Classic Greek Salad" (with Gyro meat; there were options). This was, "Crisp tossed salad, topped with feta cheese, black olives, tomatoes and pepperoncini. Served with pita bread and your choice of our homemade dressing.". This was also served with some flatbread. Unfortunately, they forgot the gyro meat in my salad, and I was already halfway through before I realized it. They didn't charge me for the gyro meat, but I was disappointed as I was hoping to have a greek dish. With the gyro meat it was just a regular salad. I also ordered the, "Rio Grande Skillet", which was, "Tomatoes, onions, jalapeños, diced potatoes, bacon, sausage, corn chips & cheddar cheese, scrambled with eggs and served with pinto beans and hot sauce.". I thought this was quite good. The service was good, other than not getting my order quite right, and the portions were large. Overall, a good experience.

My 5 year old autistic daughter likes to stack things sometimes, that's how she stims to help regulate herself. So she was stacking some of the sealed jelly packets that were on their table. She was just gently stacking NOT throwing or smashing or being playing rough. So then this head waitress or manager (Hispanic woman wearing all black and black apron) idk what she was, comes over and rudely tells my wife to tell my daughter not to be playing with the condiments because now they're going to have to be thrown in the garbage. It made my wife and my daughter feel like dirt. I'm sorry my daughter was not bothering anyone, she wasn't opening the sealed jelly packets or making any noise. Chubbies is a "family restaurant" and should not treat people this way. I hope this person gets some sensitivity training but we will not be going back. There are too many good restaurants out there for us to deal with this crap.
