I stopped by with my daughter this afternoon for lunch at the Orange, CA location and I wasn't very impressed. I got the 1/2 pound ny steak medium rare, with over hard eggs and regular hashed browns and a side of mashed potatoes and gravy for my daughter. It was about noon time, and the steak was soso at best, was cooked medium well instead of medium rare, didn't seem like it was seasoned. The hashed browns were old, the eggs were more like scrambled than over hard. and the mashed potatoes and gravy tasted weird. almost like it was cooked in an old pot. the pancakes were kinda tasteless? The servers were awesome, service was quick and fairly attentive. All in all I won't be returning to this location. read more

It was a good experience for our first time at any Norms restaurants. We showed up on a Friday around 10 am. A few parking spots available, we thought the restaurant was really busy, but it really wasn't. The restaurant look clean and well lit, not too noisy inside, but the bathrooms could definitely use a bit more attention (a bit dirty, and it smelled really bad) We waited about 3 minutes before we were taken to our table. The restaurant was not too busy. Our food did take about 20 minutes to come out (maybe because it four of us, who knows). Our waitress was very kind, polite, and friendly. She took our orders quickly, and she was always attentive with our table. Our food came out great, it was accurate, it was tasty, and it was a good quantity for the price. We ordered the California Omelette x 2, and we an order of the chilaquiles. The three plates had very good flavor. Will try again in the future! read more

American diner food at a great price. The staff are trying to do their job and were very patient with a homeless guy that tried to dine and dash. They let me pay for the guys food and not make a big scene about it. People are just trying to get by at our jobs and we all contribute where we can. Went in the other night on Friday night to eat dinner with my friends! Our server was Baltazar! He is a cool, funny, amazing & great server! Between him & the other rude servers, we prefer Baltazar! He is very fast & pays attention & always brings drinks even tho we don't ask & brings food on time. He makes great conversations. He does his job great! Oh plus we don't see him 5 days week anymore! What happened? Put him 5 days like before! Especially wednesdays & thursdays & friday thru sunday because thats where the money is at! The waitress wasn't very friendly and had poor service experience. There was a misunderstanding on one of our orders and instead of trying to fix it right away, started to argue how the customer ordered it wrong then, putting one of the guests down and talking poorly about her as if she couldn't hear her. I told her it must be a misunderstanding. The waitress also wasn't very attentive. She not only didn't refill drinks, check on us, nor ask if we needed anything else or sauces with our orders. The place wasn't busy at all and she only had 3 tables to attend to at the time so it was very weird to have a seasoned waitress not do things she should have known to do years ago: repeating back orders, refilling drinks, checking on customers, picking up dirty dishes, bringing napkins and sauces without having to be asked to do so by the customers. A little more waitress training is needed at this location. She forgot lemons, napkins, sauces, etc and we had to ask numerous times for them. Also the store said they didn't offer honey ham sandwiches even though it's on the menu and the salads don't come with croutons or Parmesan cheese even though the picture states it does. The menu should be updated to what is actually offered in that location. Lowering the music could also help the waitress hear the orders better and limit mistakes. read more

Ordered vegi omelette because I don't eat pork and my wife ordered 2 eggs over hard meal We received our food after at least 20 minutes waiting the over hard eggs were flat and extremely dry the fruit that came with my order were not fresh as expected, the worst part is instead of the Vegi omelette it contains ham so whoever took the order or the cook or both did not care, and the server did not even care yes she offered to change it but it was late already and I could not put any bite in my mouth at that place. This is one of the worst experience I had in a restaurant. I will never go back or go to the chain either. read more

He recommended items, upsold us and even suggested me to try things I normally wouldn't. Helped us through the menu since we haven't been here in a while. Great guy!! We got here for a late dinner and were seated within a couple minutes. April was our server and she was super quick and nice! She took out order quickly and brought us all the sides and condiments we asked for. Food was good as well. The country fried steak and eggs were cooked perfectly and the double cheeseburger was also perfect. Onion rings and pancakes were also delicious. The fact that this place uses the word "quality" on their menu must be a joke. The owners must be laughing at everyone walking through their doors thinking they are about to receive a quality meal. Let's talk about their "steak" it is the worst quality steak I have ever seen and tasted. The steak was gray, I wouldn't feed this steak to an animal. Many months later I come back, the fries are undercooked, the sausage is undercooked, the ham is overcooked and the bacon is overcooked. I decided to ask for new sausage and this is something I would have never expected, they deep fried it! Who does that? Lazy people who don't care about what you consume that's who.
