I cant figure out why there is so many people working there if everytime you go and order food the food is COLD. Managers walk around not doing anything and the busboys are the only ones that seem to know their job. Went in tonight and it started with WHO IS TAKING NAMES SO WE CAN SIT DOWN!!! then we sit down and wait and wait ... server comes and takes orders. Salad and soup come warm not hot soup and salad swimming in water not dressing. Then what was to be country gravy was paste and shrimp that was supposed to be cajun was boiled with some red salt shit on it that the manager said it was cajan..lol there was no bread had to ask but by then we were going to leave. Had to wait for check and the grand total was over $40 buck for shit... I could have gone to Dennys and it would have been cheaper and hot.. I could have added to the money spent and went to Tusa Grill or Tutta Fresco and got food NOT SHIT... I hate this place and its not from trying to eat there. The cooks need an overhaul because they dont care and the servers need runners to get the food out quick OH and there needs to be a REAL MANAGER .. NOT SOMEONE WHO JUST WALKS AROUND .. Went here after the game, I ordered the chili cheese fries, and my friend ordered breakfast . After about 15 mins his good came, then the waitress told me they ran out of chili and if I wanted to order something else? OMG serious? You only informed me of this when the food arrives. Very bad service, she could have told me asap so I could have ordered something else. I re ordered something thinking they would put a rush on it, since it was 100% their mess up, but 15 mins later still no food. I like Norm's BUT, the restaurant is always dirty. I always take out my antibacterial wipes & clean the table, including any dust on the ledge to the side of me or clean where little hands have left syrup or ketchup. We use to frequent Norm's often but now it's maybe once every two months. Yes, I will admit I'm prone to being a germ freak but when it's caked on, it's hard to miss. This morning we sat at the counter, waited awhile, the manager came over to ask about drinks and wipe the counter off. He picks up a bucket with water & rag, set it on the counter (where all the butter and other sides are) and got the rag squeezed out to wipe the counter off. YEP, got my wipes out before he could put the silverware down. He then turned around & set the bucket back on the floor. Not a happy camper with his lack of concern. Disgusting to me. read more

Why is a there a .53 cents surcharge per person ( as per the waitress)? We were surprised to see the bill with the surcharge - and the waitress did not explain this before hand, until we asked her to explain what the surcharge is all about. My wife ordered the blueberry pancakes w/ bacon, ham, and hash browns (crispy) and I ordered the Melting Pot omelette made w/ egg whites and adding avocado and mushrooms (cost extra) w/ hash browns crispy. Ok, let me start off by saying that I love Norms. They are reasonable, the food is yummy and the portions are big. Whenever I come to SoCal (which is often) I stop in a Norms. And best yet, they are 24 hours! With all that being said, this particular location had pretty horrible service. Husband and I got in late (after midnight) after driving here, so figured we'd stop near to where we are staying. Restaurant was moderately busy (but not packed) and no one was in line ahead of us. We simply waited and waited until finally one of the two female wait staff said "be right there" and we waited some more. Once we were seated, we had to wait and wait some more before the waitress finally took our order. The food was good (I had a breakfast and hubby had the dinner) and portions were great. No complaints at all about the food. And the lemonade was delicious. We got one refill on the lemonade once our food came and then the waitress asked if we'd like anything else. Now, we figured she meant anything else in terms of steak sauce, etc. but apparently she meant anything else in terms of food. Then she left the check and we tried to tell her we might want dessert to no avail. She never came back. Husband had to go up to pay and request some take away boxes for our food. Service was abysmal all the way around. Oh, and I heard the table next to us ask why it was so hot in the restaurant. It seems that the air conditioning was off (in SoCal summer??) because the staff couldn't find the manager's key to turn it on or something. Magically once that table complained, they found the mystery key and turned it on.. So yeah, if you want slow, horrible service with a side of stale hot air, come here. Been doing Norms for years, food has always been decent not great. Went last night and i guess the Bus Boy 'forgot" to clean our table. Stuck my hand right in the middle of a old puddle of maple syrup which was annoying but not devastating. Then my Pepsi comes it was light brown carbonated water with no flavor. Bacon was a little over cooked and the over easy eggs I ordered on came with a broken yoke and the other 2 were over hard. Get it together Norms you were better than that. read more

The service I received when I visited NORMS was terrible. They totally forgot about our table our server left and also didn't inform us and greet us to our new server. We were waiting 40 minutes for our food and when we received it all of the food was cold also forgetting multiple items of our platters. When I first came to NORMS as a child it was an amazing experience I guess it just went downhill from there. I would not recommend NORMS or maybe just this specific restaurants. read more

tonight I was very disappointed with the service. Jessica the server messed up my order 3 times. we waited 15 minutes to get seated. another 15 to get our food. I ordered a Cesar salad with salmon and she brought out chicken instead. 10 minutes later she brought out the salmon raw. 10 minutes later she brought out the same salad with hot lettuce and soggy croutons and a very dry salmon. by this time it was well over an hour and everyone was done eating and my salad with salmon was not ready. the worst part was the servers attitude. didn't offer any solution or apology for her mistakes. read more

I have never been to a better restaurant! Every time I've come here I've always been pleased. First off, whenever I go in I'm always greeted by this cute blonde host Dakota. Let me tell you that boy is gorgeous! He's always so nice and always smiling! The last time he sat me and my sister, he sat with this lovely server named Echo. Echo is such a great server! I absolutely love her! She's always so nice and attentive and not bad on the eyes either. She's never ever gotten my order wrong and is always making sure we leave with a good impression. Had never been to Norms before today, and my experience here was great! Our server was funny and made coversation. The buffalo style chicken tenders are so good! The special today was their ribs, which my boyfriend said were great as well. This was without a doubt the worst breakfast I've ever had out. Ordered the veggie omelet. About 10 minutes later the server came back to tell me they didn't have any avocados. When I was finally served, the eggs were burnt and the veggies were raw, tons of gross raw onions and peppers and the mushrooms that were supposed to be substituted for the avocado was absent. Completely dissatisfied with the service provided here. I love Norm's, and their food honestly isn't that bad for the price - but I'll never be setting foot into this establishment, again. My boyfriend and I came in to grab a quick meal and ordered a burger, completely plain, no cheese, with bacon. (Easy, right?) Because we had issues with them messing up the same order in the past my boyfriend reiterated that he only wanted a patty, bun, and bacon; nothing else. The waitress repeated the order back, but fifteen minutes later returned with a burger that included cheese. She apologized and knowing it may not have necessarily been her fault we said it was fine but wanted a new burger. She came back 10 minutes later with the exact same burger but with the cheese scraped off of the patty and still on the bacon. Needless to say we were appalled, we could have scraped the cheese ourselves if that was the case - remind me you that it took her 10 minutes to return with the burger. At the conclusion of our visit we requested to speak with the manager, Mohammed. He offered us a sincere apology, took our feedback, and offered us the burger fee of cost, to-go if we would wait the 15 minutes for it to be made. He took down the order and repeated it back to us twice. I was happy that he was taking action to rectify the mistake. Once receiving the burger, my boyfriend and I left without checking the burger because we were confident they had gotten it right. Much to our disappointment, upon opening the container at home the burger was WRONG AGAIN! No bacon, and it had only union and pickles. Horrible horrible service! read more

Worst customer service ever. Came here with my big family of 10 for breakfast. The waitress did not even smile once while taking are order. One of us wanted to add drink after we have already received the food. That was too inconvenient for the waitress since she had already taken our drinks order and served it to us. How dare we order another drink afterwards? When one of my family members realized that he was missing silverware and asked the waitress for them, she got furious. Her exact words were "why can't you ask for everything at the same time?". I heard her going to the back and slamming trays and complaining to her co-workers about our outrageous demands. Well I am sorry we wasted your time by coming there in such a big group and expected you to serve us. Also I am sorry we asked for silverware for food. We should have just eaten the pancakes and scrambled eggs with our hands. This was the worst customer service I have experienced from a casual restaurant, I receive better service at McDonald's drive thru than this. Dear waitress, you are clearly at the wrong job. I suggest you get a job where you don't have to talk to people at all. And obviously the management does not care about how the guests are being treated because as I can see from other reviews, we are not the first ones to get this kind of service.I came here and spend more than $150 for breakfast to get this horrible experience.
