The food is amazing, especially the lamb chops. The service is super slow though, and they have limited menus. We only got one menu for the two of us, because the rest were taken. (I am not sure how they would be able to handle a full restaurant, it took almost an hour for our meal to arrive and it was only 1/4 full.) Food is ok. It is positioning itself as a Moldovan restaurant. The food on the menu is Moldovan/ Romanian with a few Russian items. The decor is Moldovan countryside, the music is Romanian. I am Moldovan and ethnically Romanian, and I am shocked that the staff speaks only Russian and a little English. It is like a microcosm of the oppression that Romanian people had been feeling in Moldova for decades. It's like 1993 all over again. A slap in the face. On the one occasion I came, I've seen staff confronting customers, bring food and "throw" it on the table, everything takes a long time to come out. You feel downright like you are doing them a favor by coming to eat here. I told the staff I don't speak Russian and they scoffed in my face. I've lived in the US for 30 years and coming to this restaurant throws me right back to an uncultured, pre-modern time in Moldova. It is a shame. I would love to have access to good home food, but I'm not going to allow myself be treated like this. First time having Eastern European food. We had a beet and root vegetable salad, cabbage rolls and the chicken Kiev. Everything was fabulous. The salad was light with a multitude of textures which all balanced out nicely in a light flavor but filing salad. The cabbage rolls were probably the highlight of our meal. Very flavorful tender and filling. Maybe I was too full to truly appreciate the chicken, but I was very delicious, crust was crispy, meat was tender and moist and the filling was good. Delicious food. The zaema (chicken soup) was something special as were the cabbage rolls. Nice people and Olga, our server, was very sweet. The service is more typical of Europe in that you're not rushed and they're in no rush either, but things arrived in good time and piping hot. read more

Weird smell welcomes you once you walk in. You order your food and it will be ready in like 5 minutes. Pretty much right away. I ordered Borscht with beef on it. Soup was barely warm not hot. And tiny 3 pieces of meats in it. Schnitzel that i ordered was cooked before obviously. I just don't know when.Maybe day before or something. It was warmed up in oil and got served. The food is very typical of eastern Europe yet more balanced with the addition of a very good cabbage salad. The ambience is more formal with beautifully decorated tables. We asked if they could take them back and warm them up in the microwave or something!!! They brought them back out the second time and they were still cold. The atmosphere is very nice, spacious restaurant with nice decorations. The server and hostess were both kind and let me try their Kompote and kvass. I decided on the Kompote but after sipping on the Kvass after a while the fermented sour-sweet taste really grew on me. The cabbage rolls were full of flavor and slightly oily, leaving for a rich flavor. The chicken dumpling tasted as one would expect. We decided we wanted to order dessert and ordered the cherry blini which was a perfect blend of sweet and slightly sour. We will be back to try more dishes! Their food is terrible. In addition to no quality, the prices are unreasonable. I ordered lamb, brought me metal container size of a cup. The contents were all salty potato's and one piece of lamb size of my thumb. Charging $22.5+ tax and tip $30. Did not worth more $3. All their food was similar bad quality and overpriced. I really really wanted to like the food and have been wanting to try it for three years. I grew up eating eastern European foods, as my grandparents came from there. I had the stroganoff and the borscht with beef.The stroganoff was really not good. The meat had no flavor and there was not much of it. It was to come with white sauce, but there was so little of it that I was eating plain noodles. No matter how much garlic powder I added, I just could not get the meal to have flavor. I am used to a beef borscht having a rich liquid base. The borscht was weak. I usually do not post, but I am so disappointed! The meal was $60 delivered and I was so excited to finally try Noroc. I am hopeful it was just an off night and at some point might go in to check it out again. read more
