Clean. Nice water play equipment. Nicer than Allentown.

The Joker’s Jinx - 11/1/19. Love the ride, hated the chemicals for it.

This was definitely my favorite ride in the park…read more From the fast acceleration into the twisting maze of track to the overall smooth ride of controlled chaos, it was, without a doubt, the top ride in the park. I rode it 3 times during my visit since I enjoyed it so much!

On 8 May 1999 I heard advertisements for The Joker's Jinx . I remember I didn't like the ads for the ride, but I knew I would certainly ride this ride. The day I went to the park, I rode many rides, because I know the line for this ride would be long no matter what time I went. When I finally arrived to the ride, the line was long, but there were refreshments for those in line. The lemonade hit the spot and I had plenty of time before I rode the ride to get the fluid into my system. When I saw the paint job for the Joker, I never thought emerald green and purple went well together, BUT THEY DO. Oh, I was young back then. I even bought a Joker's Jinx tee shirt. At that time I wore a large tee shirt. I don't remember what happened to the shirt, but I know I through...no...I believe I gave it to good will. When I finally got to the gated area, you had to pass by several mirrors that made you look distorted. For my first experience I went straight to the back where I had to wait a little longer. Why, because the rear is tighter? Because I like it in the rear? Or because the rear of the car is the fastest. This answer is the best answer. The front is the slowest, but the rear end gets pushed forwards because of the force of the front of the car. The middle seats are a natural point. In this case since it is a blast coaster it pretty much doesn't matter until you feel the rear end of the car moving faster from the pulling of the rest of the cars. The spiraling looks to the side way turns make this rollercoaster a lot of fun. Listening to one of the operator say "Hands Up, hands up, I wanna see your hands." Once everyone's hands were up, he would hit the go button and everyone in the coaster cars would shoot forwards. I would love to say The Joker's Jinx started the blast coasters craze, but it wouldn't be true. Still, I had a lot of fun. This ride is a steel ride and steel rides have been know to be smoother than the wooden rollercoasters. I wouldn't mind going on this ride again. I would call this a high thrill ride.

They are ridiculous ridiculously excessive. Video games should not cost $1.25 a pop, it should be a quarter or $.50. Go karts should not be $10. Mini golf should not be $10. That's just ridiculous. Also what sucked about a lot of of the games is that, let's say it's a racing game, and you came in first place, your game is over. You don't even get to play anymore. You have to PAY more. Takes all of the fun out of it when you're constantly having to pay. I DID have fun, and I enjoyed myself quite a bit, but the price is really excessive. Probably won't ever go back unless it's with a group of friends and we just feel like blowing a lot of money. I feel terrible for parents because a couple of kids could easily burn through $50 in a couple of hours here.

The customer service was pretty nonchalant, especially considering how busy it was. Half the attractions seemed to be out of service, several of the go-karts kept cutting off during the ride, and the place was honestly really dirty. I get that things break and places get busy, but when you add all of that together, it's hard to feel like you're getting your money's worth. Definitely expected a better experience for a family day out.

Hurricane Harbor - The entry - you must enter the theme park and make another entry to the waterpark (waterpark has shorter hours).

They've got the must haves of a water park - lazy river, wave pool, water spray ground, and water slides. They've also got a few extras that you don't see at every water park, like a few 4 person float rides, a half pipe tube ride with a very steep drop, and a roller coaster type water ride that goes up and down. My 48 inch tall daughter was able to go on every ride but my 46 inch tall son could only go on about half of the rides, so my only caveat is that 48 inches seems to be the magic number. That said, my son would've had a lot of fun on the rides he could go on, as well as the universal ones like the lazy river and spray grounds. If you get a season pass to 6 Flags and compare it to the cost of a day pass at a county water park, this is a great deal (plus you get an amusement park too)!

Especially knowing we'd get a chance to see the zoo's newest star, baby elephant Linh Mai. She was the very first animal we saw that morning happily playing with her mom and aunt and she was absolutely adorable. My friend insisted on getting there right when the zoo opened and while I was dreading an 8:00 a.m. arrival on a Sunday, it ended up being the perfect time to visit. The temperatures were still cool and most of the animals were out, active, and moving around. As the day warmed up it was easy to see why arriving early makes such a difference. For anyone who's never been, admission to the zoo is completely free. However, you'll need to reserve passes online ahead of time which are scanned at the entrance when you arrive. Another big plus is that you're allowed to bring in outside food and drinks which can save you quite a bit of money if you're trying to avoid paying theme park-style food prices. The zoo is also easily accessible by Metro. If you're driving, parking is available for $40 but if you're lucky arriving early might help you score free street parking like I did. Between seeing the adorable baby elephant, enjoying a beautiful morning, and getting to watch so many animals actively roaming around, this ended up being a much better experience than I expected. I definitely won't wait as long before making another trip back.

The zoo covers a large area and there is plenty to see and do to make a day of it. We spent most of the day there but still had to rush through some of it to see everything. The zoo offers a free activity in a beautiful setting, you can make what you want of it. One word of warning, the entrance to the zoo is on a higher plane than the back of the zoo. If you are tired and hot after a whole day of fun and find yourself in the back, prepare yourself and your kids for a trek back up! :)
