I have brought my truck in multiple times for oil checks to the North County Ford location, if oil check are all you are looking for great, however... I have had ongoing issues with a grinding noise in the drivers side hubcap, I have brought my truck in multiple times to this location for "diagnostic and repair" each time paying $130-140 to "diagnose" the issue. The first 2-3 times (and $420 later) the techs were unable to solve the problem. Fast forward to the fourth and fifth times, the techs said they had finally discovered the problem and some hoses needed to be replaced in my 4WD system. Five Hundred dollars later with new hoses, an oil change and a clean bill of health I drove my truck off the lot, excited that the problem was finally solved, but sadly this was not the case. One week later the noise came back , I ignored it. The techs gave my beautiful truck a clean bill of health, I was set, what could go wrong......the noises kept happening, I would start my truck in the morning and upon leaving the parking lot, the sound of nails being put through an industrial grinder commenced. This cringeworthy symphony garnered a lot of attention from passerby and not because my truck is so sexy. I let the noise slide, I could not justify bringing it to Ford only to have them once again charge me $140 for the 6th time to "diagnose" the issue. My change oil indicator came on two weeks ago, I brought it to Ford for a standard oil change during the month of December 2020 and was I in for a shock. I arrived promptly at 5pm as soon as I received the phone call that my truck was ready, to my surprise the gentlemen at the front desk handed me the "recommended" service details on my truck, and boy was I shocked. Apparently in the 6 months since I had it at the dealership (given a clean bill of health mind you) my truck degraded to the point that I needed 6k worth of work (I have to note that a majority of my miles are highway). I couldn't believe it, surely their must be a mistake. I know that COVID is hitting all of our wallets but apparently the technicians at Ford are hurting the most. Long story short, I contracted a mechanic friend of mine who used to work at the Ford and Chevy dealerships and now runs his own office, he told me not to worry about the technician recommendations and that short of my "check engine" light turning on my truck was perfectly fine. Please do your research before you blindly follow the technician diagnostic, and my recommendation is to find a mechanic you can trust that is not going to screw you over with unnecessary recommendations. If the mechanics were good to begin with they would have caught all this with my first 5 visits to "diagnose" the grinding problem. I am giving three stars because of my customer service rep, shout out top Rob, (who no longer works there) was a straight shooter and always went above and beyond to help me. The new guy TJ is cool to. Make sure you do your research and find someone you trust for a second and even third opinion before blindly following the mechanic recommendations. read more

North County Ford's finance department took financial avantage of my friend. After months and months of production delays and endless excuses, her new pick-up truck was in. She was contacted on a Saturday. Here are the issues: 1.) Her trade in offer was reduced by $3k...that seemed odd. 2.) She was told her bank financing had expired, but that NC Ford could offer financing. 3.) She was told that in order to qualify for their financing (nearly 2.5% higher than Mission Fed), that she needed to increase the amount to be financed. What?!!! 4.) NC Ford finance added a Scotchguard interior and exterior coating and a 5 vear extended warranty without ever disclosing the costs of each add-on. She was simply asked to sign on a tablet and was not given an opportunity to review the details of the deal and how those add-ons increased the interest rate and would affect her principal, monthly payments, and total cost of ownership. 5.) To add insult to injury with intent to inflict financial hardship, my friend was required to pony-up an additional $2k to make-up the difference of her reduced trade in value. 6.) My friend worked hard to afford her new Maverick pick-up, but her $27k vehicle ended up costing her $44k. We are more than disappointed in the way that North County Ford's finance department handled this transaction. Cons: Where to start. 1) Limited New Inventory. 2) The vehicle I purchased in March, 2020 was found to have evidence of rodents nesting, of which I had to pay to have repaired. The nuts on my engine block (per Ford) sure didn't come from my daily driving and covered parking after I rolled off their lot. 3) Their sales manager, George, made zero effort to work with me on a 2nd new truck purchase in less than 8 months. (I do not fault them for selling me a lemon that Ford purchased back) This includes an email and phone call that went unreturned. Not many people are looking to buy 2 brand new cars in the same year, and my repeat business appeared unwanted. 4) When I dropped my lemon off to them, I gave Trevor a chance to find me a new truck. After we found one at a different dealership (due to their limited inventory) he told me he would call me back in 48 hours to confirm availability. I never got a call back. 5) I hope their GM reads this. You have 2 salesman who made no effort to make a sale from a highly motivated repeat customer. I purchased a truck from North County Ford with 17k miles in late October. However, almost as soon as I took possession of the car, I noticed that there were loud squeaking noises coming from the braking system, which I did not notice on the test drive since we were not primarily in a parking lot, where the noise is most apparent. I then spent THREE solid weeks attempting to get ahold of someone, anyone who could talk to me about what kind of inspection had been done on the vehicle prior to being sold. I left a total of between 8-10 phone messages for the Sales Manager, Used Car Sales Manager, even the dealership General Manager who coincidentally were always too busy to take my call or return my messages. If I could've gone to the dealership, I would've, but I live out of state. Finally, I get ahold of a sale managers named Brad Triplett who confirmed that there was no record of the brakes having been inspected. He told me to take the car to my local Ford dealership to have them inspect and fix the brakes, so I did. Unfortunately the local dealership did not fix the entire problem at a first go. They replaced the back brakes, which were indeed low, and North County picked up the tab. However, the squeaking noise remained, and the local dealership had to replace the front brakes on a subsequent day. It was at this point, that the cowards at North County Ford, in particular sales manager BRAD TRIPLLET and service manager ALEX PEREZ decided that the fault here was with my local dealership and hence will not be paying to fix the brakes. Alex Perez in particular is an abject coward who refused to speak to me directly. Bottom line here, North County Ford sold me a practically new car, which somehow needed significant brake work the second I left the dealership. They told me they inspected the car to get me to buy it. Then they ghosted me for 3 weeks, and now is refusing to actually to help finish the repair. These people are sleazy cowards and I will never buy a car from them again, and you should not either. read more

Can't begin to explain how disappointed I am with North County Ford's service department.I purchased my 2018 F150 there and had no issues until the check engine light came on. I drove it straight to the dealership and they read the code and decided the EGR cooler needed replacing and wasn't covered under warranty. 911.00 out of pocket. This morning I pack up the truck for work and the check engine light comes back on. Back to the dealership at 7am and now the service dept. states the tech replaced the wrong part and the part I need is on back order until March. Now my truck is down until the part arrives costing me thousands of dollars in jobs. I reached out to management and they have decided to back burner me. Used the dealer for maintenance & repair of our F250 several times. Over the years the service & quality of work has decreased dramatically. Our latest experience was with Rob one of the service reps. We turned in our truck to find a radiator leak, we were told we need to replace the radiator because it had holes. No problem, that an oil change & 3k and later we have our truck back. Noticed a oil leak, brought it back. Turned out the tech never completely tightened the drain plug. Not a deal breaker mistakes happen. What sent flags up is that now they say a radiator gasket is going bad and we need to take the engine apart to find it. (The same work we just had done) . 100% questionable we took it for a second opinion, turns out the gasket was fine, and the leak was coming from the secondary radiator (which is attached to the radiator we replaced). Now we are curious if the radiator even needed to be replaced since the same leak still persists. I would advise anyone thinking of using north county ford service depart to go somewhere else and save $$$$ and the dishonesty of the service reps. It's a shame what the place has become. read more

I came here for an oil change and cat back exhaust installation. The service guy needed to go ask his mechanic how long it would take to install an exhaust system and they embarrassingly came back saying it would take 4-6 hours to install. A professional should take no more than 15-20 min to install these parts. Hell I would have even been ok if they said one hour. Just be aware if you happen to go here, you need to do research. They are either incompetent or are inflating work time hours by an embarrassing amount. read more

Still having been happy with my purchase and salesman. I am EXTREMELY unhappy with the fact that my auto loan has still not been paid off in full. I was advised that it was unnecessary to make my next payment because it would be "taken" care of. It's been over two months and STILL it hasn't been paid. I've been calling ford for 3 weeks now and it still hasn't been handled. I spoke to Cameron last week and he said he would call me back with a solution, still I have received nothing. I'm not someone who likes to write a bad review, but because of them not paying my auto loan on time and in full as well as not getting back to me in a timely matter my credit score dropped 70 points because they delayed so long to complete payment on my auto loan from the car I had traded in. There was absolutely no communication on their part regarding the delayed payment. It's also been nearly impossible to get a hold of someone. I've been sent to mailbox after mailbox. Cameron Oxberry, the finance manager, is the most unprofessional, dishonest, and hostile individual. Avoid this dealership! I called the dealership to withdraw a loan application so I can secure my own funding, and over the phone Cameron was abrupt and lied to me saying I cannot cancel the application and I needed to refinance (despite the original institution confirming I did not have a loan with them and was free to shop around). Well, I reiterated that I didn't have a loan so there was nothing to refinance. I ended up securing my own financing and drove up to the dealership to provide the money, and Cameron greeted me and my parents with immediate hostility right in the middle of the showroom! He completely disregarded the legality of the contract and was blatantly lying to us stating that he already told me over the phone that I can't secure my own financing, even the receptionist was taken back by this man's aggressive and rude behavior on display -- it was shocking and repulsive. We asked to speak to his manager, and Omar was able cash the check no problem. Cameron was incredibly rude, belligerent, combative and completely out of line when speaking to us. His disregard for the law should be concerning, and he definitely should never interact with customers. Whatever sketchy things he's doing to scam or mislead people will catch up to him, and the dealer will be responsible for his wrongdoings. He needs to be fired, he's a liability and his behavior is absolutely unacceptable, and because of him I would not recommend this dealership. He ruined my experience, and in my eyes stripped the dealership of its integrity. In the end, there were positives. Omar, the Finance Manager, was very helpful, polite, and expedited the process to get everything resolved. I really appreciate his help after going through the stress of dealing with Cameron. My family has probably purchased over ten cars from this dealership and every time I have to deal with the service department for warranty work it ends up being a nightmare with a total lack of accountability. The latest debacle was my wife bringing in her Ford Flex for a simple window switch that was broken. She had our one year old son, so she couldn't simply take an uber or lift while they worked on the car. The service rep told her they wouldn't be able to tell her if the switch was covered until after a $190 diagnostic fee. To be clear, the part broken is a thirty dollar switch on the passenger side door. The only reason I didn't fix it myself was because she had a warranty. After they charge her $190 for a visual inspection to see that the switch needs to be replaced, they proceed to tell her she isn't covered by the warranty. At this point I become involved, and only by becoming belligerent with them do they do their due diligence and find out that she is in fact covered for this simple part. They tell me that if I bring it back in they will refund the $190, but now they will have to charge us another $100 as a deductible on the warranty that now covers the $30 part. I told the service representative that was unacceptable, and that after wasting my wife's time and my time that they should cover the deductible. He tells me the owner of the dealership would have to pay that. Of course I agreed, as I own my own company and if my guys had wasted hours of a woman's time, hours of her husband's time, all for a $30 dollar part I would be embarrassed and would have jumped at the chance to cover their deductible. Once I arrived, the part was in, a day sooner than they had promised my wife. For some reason even the shipping worked faster once it wasn't a woman with a baby that was talking to them. The service rep Jim admitted it was only a $30 dollar part and that it was an easy fix. I would have been satisfied if they would have just covered the cost of the deductible and fixed it then, even though they had essentially killed two days of mine. He said they wouldn't pay the deductible so I said I would just buy the part and fix it myself. I get how deductibles work, I understand that the warranty is operated by a third party. What is unconscionable to me is that they would charge a woman with a baby $190 to look at a switch, not fix the problem, and tell her it wasn't covered without double checking. As soon as I got on the phone they were quick to double check and blame the warranty company for entering in the VIN incorrectly, but I loathe excuses. This just seemed like a very predatory way to try and get $190 for a 5 minute visual inspection, and then try to charge my wife an additional $190 for the install on top of the cost of the parts all for a service that was covered under the warranty. I've honestly been thinking about purchasing at least one company truck through them as I have been a consistent customer in the past, but I really don't know why they quibble over such a small amount when they were clearly trying to rip off a woman for over $400 on a service that they should have easily seen was covered. read more

We showed up to north county Ford to just check on a car that we found on their site, the car was sitting out front waiting for us to test drive. At the end of our current lease (2 months ago), we went in to lease another truck. We worked with a guy named KINGSLAND. Seemed like a pretty nice guy. He convinced us he would get us into the exact truck we were looking for and a payment we'd be pleased with. We ended up leasing another truck...wasn't the color we wanted, wasn't the payment we wanted, but we're VERY happy with the truck itself and we moved on from that. After all, it was our choice to go forward with the lease. But the thing that really disappointed us was, after they brought the truck out nice and clean, we noticed that they had not put in a bed liner as he had promised. We questioned him, and his answer was, "let's just wait until the financing etc goes through, then we'll get you back in here for the Bedliner." We should have gotten that in writing because of course he forgot and said he didn't say that. Well he DID say that, we both heard it clearly. Disappointing to say the least. He would not budge over this $300 item (which would cost even less for him). Lesson learned. Get everything in writing, you can't trust everyone. Service Dept takes 2 hours for a simple oil change. Jim the service tech didn't inform me of the delays of the job until it had already been 1.5 hours for a job that should take 30 min max. The casual conversation among staff in service makes them look like nobody's working in the front office. Clearly not coordinating appointments very well. Overall, these clowns cast a very unprofessional impression and I will just take my truck to Valvoline for a 15 min oil change from now on. Our experience while purchasing the vehicle was somewhat painless. We knew what we wanted and how to handle finance. My concern is over a recent experience in which I had a simple question about registration post sale of the vehicle. I left several messages for a finance manager and never received a call back. I called into the dealership to request an email address for the finance team and was met with such unprofessionalism by the "receptionist" Teresa that I was in shock. I emailed the finance manager with my question and shared my concerns over my interaction with the receptionist and was met with an equally unpleasant response from him. Awful customer service. Unfortunately the worst service ever. We have purchased 3 new cars from north county ford over the years. My most recent, 2013 Edge, had a transmission issue in 2017, while still under warranty. My car was there for 27 days. Still not sure why but that was how long it took to replace the transmission. Then, in late Sept 2019 my engine light went on. Took it in and they said it was a sensor. Would be to be ordered and would be about $500 and 2 days (plus the one it was already there). Well, it was 5 days and I had to call each day to see when it was done. No one ever told me what they found just that it was ready. I paid with a cc over the phone and picked it up at night with my daughter. Within 3 days the light was back on, then off, then on. I returned the car because the issue was not fixed. This time it was another 14 days and I was told in day 6 that it could be up to a month because they were waiting for Ford to respond to them on what to try next. The advisor said it was a hole in a hose that affected the vacuum system on day 8 and they had to order the part...another 3 days. Was a total of 14 days. They charged me $58 for the hose (employee discount they said) and no labor. I'm still left wondering if the initial $500 sensor was even needed but I just needed my car back. I'm sad that such a big business in our community would operate like this. I was without a car for 19 of the last 30 days and they never even offered me a discounted rental. Even worse, I left a vm for Scott Crowley the GM and he never called me back. This was handled very poorly...3 times now. Was actually looking at getting a new truck but won't be choosing a Ford. Please consider when you are purchasing a new vehicle. read more
