North County Ford has left a bad taste in my mouth. They have a 2006 Scion on their website for sale. I reached out to them this morning and Michael called me and said he would get back to me with some of the questions I had. Which he did but not with the information I expected. Instead he informed me that the Used Car Manager wasn't sure if he was going to sell the car or not. Talk about bait and switch. One week later breaks are squeaking, turns out there was none left and they were cracked. oil had to be changed to after they said it was good. North County Ford - Work paid for not provided A couple of years ago I bought a new C-Max from North County Ford and paid for LoJack to be installed. Recently I was shopping insurance and the question as to Anti Theft came up. I really had nothing other than the bill of sale to validate my claim that there was however I had never received even a followup bill from LoJack so I contacted them only to find out the car does not have LoJack and NEVER DID. I contacted North County Ford to find out what happened. Basically they blew me off for nearly 2 months. Their promises to "Check on it" and call me back were ignored. I had to contact the BBB, Bureau of Automotive Repair, AAA among others, and was finally referred to the District Attorneys office to get them to contact me. Thank you DA's office, you got their attention in a hurry. Someone from NC Ford left me a curt phone message that they had heard from the DA's office and finally did a followed up on my claim. They confirmed LoJack was never installed as it should have been and they would be sending me a check for the amount of the fraudulent charge. Not a single We're sorry, Don't know how it could have happened, Mea Culpa, just YOU caught us, here is your money back as required by law. Now I am left to wonder what other services have I paid them to preform and not received. I wonder if this is a new way to make up lost profits. How many other people have fallen victim to this practice. One would imagine a Quality, Good Neighbor establishment, in the interest of Good Customer Service would have at least offered to make it up to a return customer since 1998. No, just we took your money, you caught us, here is what we took from you. Now go away. In fact they never once in talking ever call me by my name. I strongly advise any work you have done at North County Ford, even covered by warranty, make them show you proof the work was done, oil changes, tire rotations, let no charge go unchallenged. The finance department took advantage: they added things such as a 5 year warranty $3795(why would I need a 5 year warranty when a brand new car already has a warranty), they added extra for an extra key $495(why would I need insurance for an extra key when they already gave me 2 keys and I am the only one in the household), they added an extra coating inside and out $1590 (which I never received), the window sticker had a price of $27,000 but yet the price on the financing starts at $29,180, I had secured financing at 5% through my bank yet NCF told me they couldnt get through to my bank and instead I got 8.85% financing. TOTAL RIP OFF . Also, when signing the contract I was give an iPad with only a signature line on it so you could not see what you were signing. I bought a Ford Explorer 2014 Certified Pre-Owned (CPO), From North County Vista Ford in December of 2015. At first, like always, it seems like you are dealing with a serious and respectful dealer. Unfortunately, the reality could not be more different from that first impression. I bought this car "Online". We dealt with Trevor Martin, supposedly the Online Sales Manager. He was very nice during the purchase, and then after we started having issues with the car he never responded any calls, and instead we were sent to deal with one of the Sales Managers, Abraham (I do not know his last name, but there is only two SM and he is one of them). He was extremely rude and condescending from the very beginning. Absolutely HORRIBLE and TERRIBLE service from this man. The car was driven after they told us it was going to be towed, one the many lies they told us. (These miles were not credited, or anything. They told us it was going to be towed, and to our surprise it was driven) to my home in Woodland Hills, CA. We thought we were getting a great deal for our family car. BUT NOOOO. ABSOLUTELY NO!!!!! 1 hour after we received the car we drove it to the groceries store, and the Driver's Door opened on its own, and it was terrifying. The door's handle was broken and the latch was stock on open. We tried closing it, but bounced right back, absolutely terrible and terrifying. Then after we inspected the car there were multiple things that were broken, and we fell under the assumption that buying a CPO car was the best option/deal for our finances and our family. THEY DID NOT FIX ANYTHING. THEY LIE AND DO NOT CARE WHERE, HOW, OR TO WHOM. COMPLETELY DISHONEST. We contacted Trevor via text message immediately sending him pictures of the damage, and his response was "I will contact my manager to see what can be done." What can be done? Also, it took 3 month for North County Ford to file/do the proper paper work with the DMV for the vehicle's registration and transfer. I am completely devastated!! An employee of this dealership, while driving a company vehicle, crashed into my car on the freeway. Her boss showed up at the scene to whom, she admitted being at fault and even stated she hit another car first. Now however, she is denying fault to the insurance companies , leaving me with a totalled car and receiving no compensation for my loss. Brought my car in bc the heater wasn't working. The service guy said, "anything that doesn't fall under the warranty we will be charging you for." I Told the service guy in response, "I DO NOT want to be charged for ANYTHING. I am going thru a divorce and I'll only have the car for another month, and then my husband will have the car. Terrible service department. Pulled up and spoke with a service rep named "Jeremy". He had a bad attitude from the start. I needed to have a plastic drivers side windshield peeler cover installed on my 14 Ford Flex. I already had the replacement Ford peice I had ordered the day before. He started telling me I needed another peice that I didn't have because it's probably broke and that would be an extra charge. It would take 1-2 hrs to put on and quoted me around $160 and that didn't include the "other peice" that I probably needed. I agreed to this but asked if they would give me a loaner vehicle since I had errands to run and he said he didn't know when he would get to it. He told me they don't offer loaners. I was disappointed by this and told him that's not very helpful for their customers and told him I would go to another dealer to see if they could do it faster. He than walked away from me laughing in a sarcastic way and shaking his head no. I told him I thought that was rude of him to do that in front of me and he should do that out of view of the customer if he wanted to do that. It made me feel very humiliated. He than leaned into my window from the passenger side and said "well you're the one being rude to me by saying we're not very helpful". I told him I have every right to be upset if I'm not pleased with the service I'm getting because I'm the customer. I told him I was going to call the manager and he said sarcastically, "go ahead, he'll be back in 10mins and my name is Jeremy". When the service manager called me back, he acted like he didn't even care. He said Jeremy had already spoke to him about it and he told him he shouldn't act that way towards customers. Reminded me of when Mom would tell you to be nicer to your little sister and than got a light slap on the hand. Overall, he seemed to not really care to much over the situation. I ended up taking my car to Ken Grody Ford and the Rep there told me he hears stories all the time of the level of service people get from North County Ford. By the way, there was no other piece that I needed to buy and it literally took them 10mins to put it on. I probably could have done it myself it was that easy. They only charged me $25. Save yourself the trouble and go to the Ford Dealer in Carlsbad, its like 10mins further but you'll get treated with dignity and they know what they're talking about. read more

I drove there and went to parts cashier. I ordered the parts I needed and asked again about the military discount before he rang it up. I can't really stress enough how unprofessional this place is. I went in with my wife to look at a trade in for her and a new car for me. While I was looking around, the salesperson we were working with, Jesus, (who admitted openly to being new) seemed to catch on that the car she wanted was much more expensive than mine. From that point on, I was treated like dirt. I was open and honest with them and discussed my plans. Not so great credit, needing a small inexpensive car with low monthly payments. They swore up and down that they could help me and they seemingly did. After about 5 hours there I was exhausted and my wife had decided and clearly communicated that she would not be trading her car in despite their continuous pleas and offers. I wound up working with the Manager On Duty to get me a "special deal from the bank" so that I could leave in a car. They worked pretty hard at getting that done for me, I will give them that. We made an arrangement for me to bring them some cash for a down payment within the next few weeks, and I left with a beautiful Ford Fusion. A little over 2 weeks later, I showed back up at the dealership with a check for my down payment and went to sit down with Jeremiah in financing (who was fantastic most of this time). He then expressed to me that the bank had denied what the salesman had promised me, and if I did not pull $1000 more somehow that the contract was void. Obviously irritated, I asked to speak with the sales manager. After waiting for about 30 minutes, and me walking back out to the front desk to ask where he was, he finally showed up. He was knowledgeable but came off VERY cocky and unforgiving of the situation that they put me in. I talked back and forth with him for about 15 minutes before leaving to speak with my lawyer to question the legality of it all. Unfortunately for me, there was a tiny loophole in the contract that I did not catch before signing, and i was never informed of, that allows the dealer to cancel within 30 days of the bind should the bank deny the deal. This dealership is the reason salespeople look bad. They took me in, told me they could help me, actually appeared to do so, then backed out of the whole thing in the sketchiest possible way. I wound up giving my car back to them and letting them deal with the burden of paying for it to be re-smogged, detailed, and certified (which costed more than they wanted out of me.) To sum it all up: First of all, I resent being spoken to and treated as lesser when someone else may want a more expensive car. That does not make me any less of a valuable customer. If I am looking at giving you my money, I should be top priority. If my wife's Raptor really means that much to you, get another salesperson to help me while you hound her. Secondly, In the signing process, I should have been clearly informed of ANYTHING that may happen to the deal they were trying to swing. This whole thing could have been very different if they had just told me that the deal was not for sure until they had word back from the bank. And Lastly, DO NOT TREAT ME LIKE SOME DOE EYED LITTLE GIRL. When I went in asking for the manager, I was hushed away into a back room so that nobody else in the showroom would hear anything about my situation. And then the manager proceeded to speak to me about the situation as if I had no idea what he was talking about and I would just agree to the deal. There isn't a single person, no matter what budget or situation, that should be treated the way I was treated. If anyone out there is looking for an honest person to work with you, DO NOT GO TO NORTH COUNTY FORD. They have proved to me to be the definition of sales sharks. read more

So...after receiving a message from the Service Director, Larry Burns, over at North County Ford, I stopped in to see him just this past Wednesday. Obviously he wanted to talk about my last visit which is reviewed above. I was actually pretty surprised to get any response at all. After we talked, he asked me if I could leave the vehicle with them to which I responded...sure. They (North County Ford) provided me with a rental car which was cool. So the next day (Thursday the 15th) I call them back to find out when the vehilce would be ready. "Come on down...it'll be ready in about half an hour". AWESOME I thought. When we get to the dealership I was plesantly surprised to find out the work that was missed last visit was completed, they totally detailed my vehicle inside and out, and as if that wasn't enough...they extended me a service credit towards my next visit. Larry and his team over there at North County Ford really went the extra mile to make sure that my concerns were addressed AND fixed. Thanks alot folks. Hey peeps, when you go to this dealership and before you leave, make sure you get all your documents back. I didn't. I asked for my documents and the sales person said "they are on the desk, I gave them back to you". I checked and they were on the desk except for my Driver's License. I left for LA to purchase a car and when they asked me for my DL, oh suprise, it wasn't in my wallet. Guess where it was? North County Ford in Vista. I had to drive back to San Diego and pick up my DL then had to go to LA the next day to finalize my car purchase and all they had to say about it "I'm sorry". I highly recommend North County Ford. I have had my Ford serviced there for years. They have an oil change package costing $65 which gets you three full oil changes. All of their staff is friendly and courteous, Shannon Medina is especially so (ask for her), and the work performed is quick and well done. Occasionally, I have had my car serviced at other Ford dealerships in North County because of proximity to work or my home. After being a North County Ford customer, I can say they all pale in comparison. Big kudos to the service manager, Tom Ryan, for being smart enough to hire and train the best folks around. these guys are just great. back in 2001 I needed to buy a new truck, and went to AAA to find out who offered fleet pricing in the san diego area to AAA members. I was dissatisfied with my experience with the dealership closest to me, and so went with these guys instead. they were just GREAT - I loathe buying cars and haggling, but the whole fleet pricing deal was a total no hassle experience. I liked these guys so much, that seven years later when the engine block cracked on the truck, I went back and traded it in for the same make and model at the same dealership, and the experience was just as good if not better. Richard Palid did an excellent job as a no pressure, no hassle salesperson, and I was in and out with the new vehicle very quickly at a more than fair price. I like these guys so much, I got the regular vehicle maintenance plan thru them when I purchased the vehicle, and take it there every 3,000 miles even though they're about an hour away from where I live - they're just that more pleasant than the remaining ford dealers in the san diego area (especially one that starts with an M, to which I will NEVER return), now that pearson ford has unfortunately closed. I've just moved to long beach but the next time I need a new vehicle, I fully intend to go right back to them and get the same again - they're just that good. THANKS GUYS !!! read more

I have been a customer of North County Ford for over a decade. I bought a 2011 F150 new and have serviced it there consistently. I am always treated well and the service prices are reasonable. Overall the F150 maintenance costs have been very reasonable and I have no complaints about the vehicle as well. Recently I did have a small issue after a service appointment. I called and spoke with the new GM about the problem. His response was immediate and extremely gracious, solving my problem completely and going above and beyond. I will continue to be a customer, and might just sell my low-mileage F150 to get into a new Maverick truck when it is available, and will buy it from North County Ford. read more

I don't know if this place deserves two stars but three is the most they are getting from me. I have been in for service twice, the prices are reasonable, and the service managers are helpful. Both times that I've stopped in have been last minute appointments so I do appreciate their flexible schedule. I wasn't in a rush the first time but I did wait about a half hour for the courtesy vehicle to return. I'm not an impatient person, but if I needed to get to work on time it might have been an issue. The other time I came in the car was was broken. Obviously things happen. I was offered a free wash at another time, but the inconvenience was a bummer. Never did get my wash. Today I bought my VERY FIRST NEW CAR. Wow. This was a pretty stressful day and I'm lucky that the great guys at Ford made my experience extra easy! I didn't intend to buy a new vehicle today (I was only looking, really!) but I came to the conclusion that my 1989 Toyota Corolla wasn't going to cut it anymore. I called yesterday to make an appointment and Jesus was very nice and helpful. However, I was a bit late (went to the wrong dealership this morning, oops!) and he was busy when I arrived. I'm so lucky that he put me in the great hands of (Bearded) Brandon. Brandon was not only easy on the eyes but a big ol' help when it came to picking out a new car and making the process of purchasing easy easy easy! I can tell that he did everything possible to give me the best customer service and I'm super grateful for that. I ended up with a "ruby red" 2014 Focus hatchback. It's everything I wanted in a car and more (minus the monthly payment. Adulthood kind of bites). Mike and Tim were also really wonderful and friendly.
