My husband and I can't thank North County Ford enough for allowing us to buy a brand new Ford Escape! We went In just browsing around and Mike came and helped us. We weren't going to buy as we knew we had horrible, horrible credit and our current vehicle wouldn't allow us to trade cause of negative equity and what we still owed on It. But with the help of Mike and George we were finally able to trade our vehicle In, and get a brand new Ford Escape with 1.9% Interest and a super low payment! They literally took their time to help us every way possible so we could get a bigger car for our growing family!! The service department was helpful by phone, but when dropping the vehicle off it was frustrating to be ignored by several employees who could have easily acknowledged that I was there and told me someone would be with me shortly. Only one employee was working with a customer. When I interrupted their avoidance of making eye contact, the guy with the customer was able to let me know where the tow truck could dump my vehicle. Maybe the other people there aren't allowed to talk to customers while they're looking at paperwork. Retrieving my repaired vehicle after paying could have been faster. Twenty minutes seemed a bit long. Definite lack of communication since it took three requests for someone to bring it out to me. The new long blue ink mark near the ignition switch (looked like someone had a pen in their hand when they started the vehicle) was also annoying, but mostly cleaned up with soapy water and mild solvent. The repair was pricey, but dealerships are never cheap. Their location was more convenient than my mechanic, and there's a car rental close by. Everything seems to be running well, and the repair also took care of a secondary problem. Good job there. Better customer service and responsiveness would have made the experience a good one instead of a mediocre one. read more

What a great experience I had in the service department at north county ford. I have been to many dealerships over the years and this by far has been the most efficient, professional, caring dealership by far. I came down to visit family and had a issue with my SUV. I took it in with no appointment and feared the worst being a dealership and a holiday I was going to spend it there. By my surprise I pulled up in the service drive behind a line of cars and out came a gentleman to great me. He took my info and my issue down and walked me into the service office were I was greeted with smiles. ( working on a holiday and still have a smile that's a first) They took great care of me and what a waiting room... I was in and out in the time they advised and I got free coffee and WiFi while I waited. The service manager even event for a ride with me after the service was completed since they were short staffed to make sure the problem was fixed... I had a horrible experience with John Morshead their "Fleet Manager". Not only was John rude he thought it was appropriate to use foul language. I went in for a lemon law buy back after my truck was in their service bay for 36 days. John provided an unwelcome feeling from the start. He mentioned multiple times that "this is a time suck" and he hates dealing with Lemon cases. Being a sales person I would assume this is how you could sell a brand new car with ease. Apparently not, to cap it off he handed me a check for my lemon and did not offer to sell me a new truck? Benny their manager was helpful when I went back for a second time to sort out 10 day delay in my paperwork back to Ford. Very disappointed. read more

Zach the salesman was awesome!!! Such a pleasant & easy buying experience! We originally found an F-150 that we wanted, but they sold it the day before we could go out and buy it. Bummed, but Zach found us another one that worked! It was so easy! We did everything over text but sign the papers! When we got there, all we had to do was give our social security number and sign the papers! The finance department got a little pushy with wanting us to finance since we had great credit, but we insisted on paying cash. And he tried to push the extra warranty on us, but we didn't want that either. Overall, Zach the salesman was so unbelievably easy to work with! We were driving a couple hours from out of town to get the truck, so they did their best to speed up the process and get us back on the road. Good job Zach! He was so friendly and knowledgeable plus he could not do enough to please us- detail the truck we bought, get coffee, water, the manager Abraham when we needed him.. Just great service! We had the pleasure of working with Jonathan, another salesman, who was very kind, a great listener and also very knowledgeable. Abraham, the manager, obviously picks the nicest people to work here but he super trains them to be the best we've met at the 5 dealerships we've visited in a 2 hour radius. That's why we came back! The environment of the dealership is very relaxed and inviting. When you buy your vehicle you will want to remain friends and go out for a beer with Abraham and your salesperson because they are so nice!! read more

I am having a horrible experience here. Got a car here in June 2019 and got overcharged for the low jack. Since I didn't have cash for my down payment and my check was not going through I was not allowed to see my purchase order the finance guy only told me the amount that was financed. Which sounded right. He says once my down payment is taken then they will mail my purchase order. I was buying a Ford Explorer 2019 I brought in my own finance which I'm sure they didn't like. I didn't end up getting my purchase order till 2 weeks and I'm seeing that low jack price was 1595.00 that's not right cause msrp on it is only 795. I called talked to chase joiner about it. He is giving me a hard time cause we gave them my wife's old vehicle but the title has her maiden last name. That day we went to vista from Long Beach they assured me it was not going to be a problem and chase is not giving me a refund until they get credit for the vehicle we traded in . He never picks up and I have left messages bad experience till this day read more

Very military friendly and they don't try to take advantage of it but instead use there knowledge to speed up the process of registering your vehicle same day and in no time at all. first, the best Dealer around in the region is Witt Lincoln where i bought my Mercury. they get 4 stars avg in Yelp. but, they are 35 miles away and i just got tired of driving and paying the gas. now to NCF - my brother/sister in law bought their vehicle there and like them. i have been there several times in past years for oil changes, minor stuff and they were o.k., nothing special. however, on a potentially major repair, they (along with numerous other mechanics) made a miscall on the problem. i finally found another mechanic with a correct diagnosis and had it repaired. more recently, a month or so ago, i called to get an estimate for a 30,000 mile svc and was quoted over $400 - absurd! i was not asked any specific questions about my car, just given the quote. that ended that. poor customer svc. i then called Witt, we had a specific conversation about what i did/did not need and they quoted $120 for the specific things i needed. they got the job, even with my paying more gas to get there, still a good deal. excellent customer svc. NCF, on that one you blew it, Service should have asked me some specific questions as Witt. so, of course, we all have to do due diligence. however, just yesterday, i was towed in for a repair. their Service area has been completely remodeled, LONG overdue and nicely done. staff very friendly including shuttle driver. dealt with Alex, very friendly young guy, used to work in Parts. it's my understanding from various comments i found online, that Service has undergone major personnel turnover. seems to me for the good. the repair was under warranty as Alex advised and is running fine thus far. at checkout, he went over my inspection points item by item, then walked me to my car and opened the door for me! never had that by ANY dealer. so, overall based on this experience and not previous ones, they get 3 stars. final comment, the salesmen roam around the parking area and when you pull in, you are sometimes "accosted" on purchasing a newer car after you have just had yours repaired. there was one lurking behind me when i briefly pulled in after my repair. annoying as hell, back the hell off!!! stop that practice immediately! read more

We just bought our Ford Edge Limited here about a week ago. With the fastest, smoothest and easiest car buying experience I have ever had I highly recommend this dealership. OK, so I finally got my tailgate fixed..see post from 1/12/2013. They must have hired a new Service Manager (George E.) As he apologized for my past nightmare and fixed my issue straightaway. I didn't even have to take my tailgate to them. He sent mechanics to my house to take off, fix (back at the shop), then sent them back out to my house to reinstall. That is great service. He cared about the "Customer"! Well, that's one employee from NC Ford that went the extra distance for the customer. Let's get the rest on board and I might buy another car there. I had such an abnormal dilemma but felt a review was due to reflect on it. My mother in law who is very eldery and has severe memory loss, helped one of our Family members purchase a car. She put down some money that she didn't remember doing and then wasn't prepared when she started receiving phone calls asking for the money from the bounced checks! I contacted North County Ford and spoke to Patty Dean. She went over everything with me that was on file and advised she would do all she could to help me out. The problem, was that I had just found out about my mother in law's purchase and it was OVER a month. I asked Patty if I could pay whatever the dealership had incurred from a cost standpoint and "unwind" the deal. She allowed me to do this. It cost me over $1800 to do this. This was strictly me asking her to let me pay whatever fees were needed to unwind the deal, not to mention the 1000 miles that were added to the vehicle! She let me do this and unwound the deal! I was extremely happy considering my mother in law could NOT afford the car that she was really unaware she helped a family member purchase. A few weeks had passed and I had forgotten about this completely. I then receive a call from Patty Dean, advising me that due to the circumstances surrounding this, that she wanted to fully refund all the money that I had given them. I was speechless. She called me. Followed up with me, and actually had absolutely NO gain in this from a financial aspect. It was actually a loss for them! From everybody that answered my calls, and how easy they made this on me when I did need to return the car, all the way to calling me to refund all money paid to them, WELL....lets just say I am amazed. I purchase vehicles for myself and my business every 3-4 years. My next Ford will come from North County Ford. They showed how great customer service can be even when there is nothing to gain for them. Truly amazing and honorable. I guess through the bad experience, I gained trust for my future purchases. Do NOT attempt to buy a vehicle from here, you will be treated with disrespect and taken advantage of. I attempted to purchase a used truck from this dealership. Everything was going great, nice salesperson, negotiated a fair price on the vehicle and everything was set to sign the finance paperwork. That is when everything went downhill. The finance person tried to sell me on an extended service plan which I declined. Since being a former master certified auto mechanic, I do all my own work and maintenance. He did not like that and proceeded to tell me that technology has changed and that I wouldn't be able to fix a newer vehicle (please, eye roll). While going through the finance charges (tax, license etc.) a little "option" was added to the price ($795) for lojack vehicle security. I told him I did not want this optional equipment. He proceeded to tell me that it was not optional since it was already installed on the vehicle. I then explained that well I have already negotiated the price of the vehicle and therefore it is now included into that price. Off he went to "speak to his manager" and came back stating he could cut the price in half while shoving a form to sign stating that this was "OPTIONAL equipment". I'm not a lawyer, but I am pretty sure this is an ILLEGAL practice in California unless disclosed on an addendum window sticker(and why they have a separate form to sign!!!). I told him I do not want the optional equipment, his reply, "well you don't have to buy the vehicle from us". And with that my wife and I got up and walked out. BTW I am filing a complaint with the DMV, for those in California, it is form 172a. read more

I was approached by Matt Connelly, who helped me figure out what I might like. He was very nice, respectful, knowledgeable, and most importantly, honest. We took the Fiesta ST for a spin and I loved it! It was like driving Super Mario Cart! I want one! Like I said, though, I wasn't ready to make any commitments today, and Matt kept it comfortable! This dealer is a complete disgrace. I bought a used car here last December. They took my car back to get washed while I finished up all the paperwork . When I got home I showed my friend my new car, come to find out that a part that was originally on the car was stolen. It took 3 weeks of me calling and going in multiple times to get that part replaced in which I still had to do the leg of the work. I recently needed new tires and come to find out that there were was lug key that was not provided to me. Called multiple times and never got a call back. Finally went in and spoke to Jim in service who apparently is the only competent person working at this shit hole. However sales management refused to help because it has been 6 months. I would have understood this if it was related to something more evident. However I don't take my wheels of every other week for the hell of it. Management told me they didn't want to help out at all and I was on the hook for trying g to remove my wheels to replace a safety relate item(tires) So I called the general manager to see if he would help me out and meet me half way, I would find a way to remove the lug key and asked for them to cover the cost of new lug nuts. Well the general manager is a complete joke as well and apparently is to scared to call someone back after reaching out multiple times for 3 weeks. Once again Jim is the only person to actually communicate and told me the general manager ( Beau) wasn't willing to help either. This dealer had multiple opportunities to do the right thing but instead just ignored me. Worst dealership I've ever dealt with and the management all around are pathetic and worthless. I can only imagine how shady their service department is. Avoid this place at all costs! read more

I have a Ford Focus 2013 that I purchased back in September. Transmission started acting up brought it in to a different dealership and it was fixed. Flash forward to about 2 months later, just on Friday of this new year same problem, had the car towed to this Vista location. They said wouldn't be able to diagnose until Monday which left me carless, I explained I had an extended warranty which they said it did not indicate i did. Anyhow story short, they totally took care of me efficiently And they managed to get me into a rental for the week. I just got home after a long day of selling my gas guzzling FJ Cruiser(Sniffle) at Carmax, and then purchased a C-Max Energi from the great people at North County Ford. The car is great, and it will probably take me several months to figure out all the things that it offers. The management, accounting, and technical staff were great, but my salesman, "Pineapple," was awesome and pretty goofy... in a good way. He made my car buying experience enjoyable and he was able to answer, or find an answer to all my questions. I was unmotivated and ready to chew out the next sales man that was rude to me or tried to rip me off. Luckily I was greeted by a salesman that wasn't too pushy, he listened to me, and didn't pry into my personal life like most of them do. I was given a very good deal on a brand new Focus and my long and tedious search for a car finally came to an end. I purposely waited awhile to write this review. I moved to North County about a year and a half ago. I originally purchased my Focus in 2014 from the La Mesa dealership. Truth be told, I regret buying this car (I originally wanted to buy the Fusion but was intimidated by its size, so I was talked into buying the Focus). I previously had a Mustang for 10 years, so I have been faithful to Ford since I started driving. I have dealt with the Focus shuddering and jerking constantly for 3 years. Not only was it embarrassing for myself when my car felt like it was going to break down every time I drove it, it was mildly infuriating that I silently sat idle and kept handing my money over for a car I regretted buying. I was initially told by the salesman that the driving system was "intuitive and had to get used to the user's driving" and that was the reason why the car did not drive smoothly. He said it would settle in by 7,500 miles. Well, those were blatant lies, either perpetrated by him or by the dealership. I will be updating my review for that dealership as well. The 2012-2016 Focus is notorious for this Powershift system gone wrong. It was a dangerous and unpleasant driving experience throughout and my car is almost at 30,000 miles. There has been a recall for the transmission issues and countless complaints online regarding the performance. Now my review for North County Ford will begin. In December 2016, I got my standard oil change at the dealership. I had the pleasure of meeting Jim Goodine. He has been nothing but helpful and really went above and beyond in every interaction I've had with him. After I had my oil changed, I researched the car's crappy performance and discovered there was a recall for the transmission control module. I took my car in for the repairs. It took 2 visits and a few weeks of waiting for parts to be ordered, but I was given a loaner vehicle for the time being so I wasn't bothered by the wait. I also got to drive the Fusion (a complete delight), which I should have bought to begin with. Needless to say, I will make better buying decisions in the future and I will not be repurchasing the Focus. The silver lining: I have been treated kindly and with great attention every time I visit this dealership. My car battery recently died and I took my car to the dealership. The workers are always courteous and I actually don't mind being there. I trust this dealership and my next purchase will be more researched. This dealership will always have my business. Lesson for others: Always buy an extended warranty and be aware of current recalls. Also, do your research prior to stepping on a car lot and don't feel pressured to buy a vehicle the same day you're there. I really, really wish I would have gotten the Fusion (if that's not apparent enough). Thank you to Jim Goodine and the service team! My negative experience was turned into a positive one. I needed an oil change and a noise looked at on my Fusion, so I decided to schedule an appointment with this Ford. Having never gone to a Ford this big (I'm from little upstate NY) I had no idea what I was doing. After giving my car to the service guy, he said it would be ready in an hour and twenty mins. This baffled me at first because I had never heard of an oil change and quick look over taking so long. They were right on the money when it came to how long it took, but they were all super nice. And I was able to buy 3 oil changes for the price of one, so I was all about that. Overall, good customer service, I had multiple people come over and ask me if I needed anything while I waited. Although I didn't like the wait I have no bad things to say about this place. read more

I came in frustrated with my 2013 Ford Focus and its issues with transmission. I actually had an appointment the following Monday with Service. BTW, Steve service manager was awesome! Very kind, and got me in ASAP. He told me that incentives might be available. I had 10 payments left on my lease. I was connected to Dave Knapp, who was so awesome! He listened to me! I told him what I wanted and gave him some options. I expressed my dislike for the back and forth. I knew what I could afford and what I wanted. He made it happen! I am driving a beautiful new 2015 Mustang, paying a little less each month, and no money down. I appreciate him listening to me, and treating me with the utmost respect, and pretty much getting me what I wanted. I left him with little options by the way. I am saying that because I knew I would have to bend a bit too. I hope Dave works for North County Ford for a long time coming. Went in today for one of there promotions and met with Daniel. I went in with a trade and wanted to stay around the same payment. I did not want to test drive until I knew the numbers. I also wanted a used vehicle. So I go in and get Daniel not only do I get made to test drive a vehicle but it was a new one so I could get better trade/tax breaks and after everything was said and done the numbers on paper were me putting down way to much money on a new vehicle with next to nothing for my trade and almost triple my monthly payment. We bought a Transit Van from North County Ford for our delivery business over a month a go. Due to a screw up by their finance department with respects to the title paperwork, we have not been able to register the van nor put it into commercial service. No one from the finance department returns our calls and the sales guy just keeps passing the buck. We are just left in limbo. I have also left message for General manger who has also not called back. With all of the Ford dealers in San Diego, this should be the last place you patronize.
