I did not want to have the wording printed directly on the artwork, as the artwork would also serve as the background for the birth announcements of our future children. After searching for companies that could both scan and print (in high quality) I decided to use Baboo. I was not disappointed. They are located in an unassuming store front on West 20th street. The staff was kind and explained the process they use to ensure the safety of the artwork when scanning. I was able to choose from a decent selection of paper but they also have metal and plexi print options. Once the piece was scanned I received a DVD with the artwork. I was so happy with the scan. I then used Adobe Illustrator to add the wording, saved the file, uploaded it to a jump drive and brought it over to Baboo. I chose a nice thick stock, since the artwork was watercolor i wanted the final print to look as original as possible. A few days later i went to pick up the print. Boy was i surprised, the piece looked just like the original, the scan captured every swish and the printer they used created a final product that looked like it was hand painted all over again.
