Tried May's Eats for the 1st time and boy they didn't disappoint! Had their Cuban press and it was wonderful, sandwich is big enough to share and comes with chips. Now about their lemonade, it was so close to my father's that it almost brought tears to my eyes. The lemonade is tart and sweet in perfect harmony and so refreshing for these crazy hot Texas summers. Their menu is very mixed, something good for everyone so we plan on making a few trips a month so as not to miss out. Try any of their desserts, choosing will not be easy as they all look yummy. We passed this place a few months ago and, as is my habit when I see a restaurant I have not noticed before, I looked it up on Yelp. WOW. Five stars. It went straight into my bookmarks. We were headed in that direction for an errand, so today was the day. We arrived around 2pm on a Saturday and the place was empty, except for two nice gals working the counter. I had already spotted the BLT on the menu and since it is nearly tomato season, the craving had stuck. With a name like "Ultimate BLT," how could we resist? Hubby added a cup of the tomato bisque, which turned out to be a pretty large portion. The sandwich comes with house-made chips. I kind of wish I had splurged on the carrot lemonade, which looked and sounded amazing, but I didn't. Next time. One of the gals let me sample the tarragon chicken salad. It was good but not quite tarragon-y enough for me. The BLT, however, was very, very good. It had a little spicy kick from something; maybe the aioli??...and the bacon was that perfect combo of thick, crispy, and chewy. The sandwich was big enough for the two of us to split, and I left happy. Bonus points for the soundtrack in this place. Ordered May's Eats as takeout and wow! The Cobb salad and Cuban sandwich were both delicious. I can tell they put a lot of time and care into what they are preparing. The cobb salad had charred corn, blistered tomatoes, bacon, and a great dressing. The Cuban sandwich had such a great flavor from the mustard/meats and the bread was amazing. I read the reviews which showed high ratings so I had to come visit this eatery. It did not disappoint! We entered on a weekday mid afternoon and was greeted with a friendly hello and any help to see the menu. There were no paper menus, just the menu up on the screens above the counter. There are few sandwiches and salads, but they all looked very good so we chose the Cuban Press and Turkey Pesto Press sandwiches. After a short wait, we got our orders each on a silver tray with nicely presented half cut sandwiches and homemade chips. The Cuban press sandwich was warm, filled with seasoned chopped pork and sliced ham melted with cheese and brown mustard on a grilled ciabatta bread. It was really good like a comfort food. The turkey pesto had two thick, sliced turkey breast, warmed with freshly made pesto spread, which bloomed with the bright green color and the smell of prime freshness, and nestled with melted cheese on a grilled ciabatta bread. The first bite really welcomed the combo of warm turkey and fresh pesto. Delicious! The homemade chips were super delicious and we ate every single piece. The sandwiches were so large that we had enough to take home for another meal. The dining room was small and cozy and had two tall tables, 2 medium tables and one couple size table in the corner. Service was super friendly and sincere. Their workers really cared about the food and making it right the first time. This really is a foodie place. They had bottled wines on the wall to select from and another small cooler with chilled wines and specialty beers. They had fresh made sides upfront and desserts, but we skipped this time. Definitely something worth getting on another visit. This place was very clean. Bathroom was well taken care of. This place is in a small strip mall and is definitely worth stopping by just right off the interstate. When we're around this area again, we'd certainly will stop by again. read more

The indoor dining area is fairly small but it was not crowded. It is a little pricey, and for the price, I expected more meat in them than they had. If ordering the Cuban, I would recommend asking for the mustard on the side as so much was put on it that I had to try to scrape it off because all I could taste was the mustard and finally just at the contents without the bread. I'm giving 3 stars because my husband really liked his peso chicken sandwich. read more

Ernesto was extremely helpful when it came to picking out a good vegetarian option, he even let me try their cauliflower based soup which was beyond delicious. It tasted a lot better than it sounded to me initially. I'll definitely be coming back here to get that next time! I do wish they had more savory vegetarian options to choose from, I'd come here more often if they did but they are locally loved for good reason. May's is so good, for so many things; catering, dine in and takeaway. I wish it was closer to where I live, but happy it is not too far. There are some tables so you can eat at the restaurant, but takeaway is a great option. They also do an amazing job catering. I recently went to an event that they catered and everything was delicious. Charcuterie can be hit or miss for me, I don't like chewy processed meats, but everything on theirs was delicious. They had these little bites, that must have been onion, that were so good! Most recently I dined in. They have a nice wine selection. I did not get wine though. I got their 24K Lemonade, which was very good. It also seemed very healthy. I had the chicken salad and my husband had the egg salad. Both were some of the best I have ever had. I may have to go get some for an event I am hosting this week. They open at 11 am. Closed on Sunday. Parking was easy. read more

I looked at the menu quite nervous on what to get so I had to ask the friendly staff member helping me what her favorite was. My hubby and I popped in for takeout. Granted, he's been here for lunch more than I have - and that's ok (I guess). He is obsessed with the muffeletta sandwich with homemade BAE spice dusted chips. I've been trying to work in as many vegetarian options as possible during my meals. The sides here did not disappoint. I settled on a small quinoa with black bean salad and a medium purple haze cauliflower. The food was prepped quickly and we were out the door. We got home, and my hubby launched into his delicious sandwich. I put my salad and cauliflower on a plate to heat. The quinoa with black beans was delicious and lightly seasoned. The cauliflower, I love any kind of cauli, was roasted with EVOO and red ancho chili powder + a few other seasonings. I could have just settled for a small side of that as well and been just as satisfied! Now, I have a cup of cauli left to go on my homemade pizza for dinner! They have a wonderful selection of roasted salmon, egg salad, chicken salad, soups and salads. All look amazing and fresh and healthy! I can't wait to go back and try everything! I went in specifically looking for Greek food, so the pita pockets, olives, and shrimp were on my radar - the flavors were interesting (I've never had lemon-olives), and the sandwich portions generous (I could have shared the pita pocket), though I probably wouldn't go back for the shrimp ($5 for 3 tough shrimp was a bit steep). Update 2023: Mays catered a celebration of life at our home and I can't say enough good things about them. The food choices and portions were perfect for the occasion (thank you Eddie & Edie for the guidance). Everything was fresh and delicious, and the service was seamless. And a great value. Definitely recommend for any catering occasion. I regret that I didn't get more photos of the food - it was laid out so prettily. Everyone was very impressed, and we ate like kings! 2021: Mays saved my sanity. We had friends coming to visit during a busy time, and they were able to whip up a menu on short notice that accommodated picky eaters. I asked for help right-sizing the portions and they were very helpful. I interacted mostly with James and Eddie. I'm a catering newb and they were so kind and pleasant to do business with. I could eat myself silly at May's! Fresh!! Yummy!! When I have a lunch date and I ask if they've been to May's and they say no... it where we go. Rinse, cycle, repeat! We are regulars. I've had the pleasure of dining on a multi course meal that they catered at a Murder Mystery party and it was all I could do to keep my manners about me.
