Glad the waitress allowed us to move. The strawberry Nutella French toast was really good and sweet. Got crispy bacon that I asked for. The scramble eggs were really fluffy. When I ordered the Eggs Benedict, my waitress asked for my selections. If I wanted the turkey bacon or a different protein. Whether I preferred hash browns or fruit. I was surprised to be asked if I wanted the eggs scrambled or poached. I have never had a Benedict with scrambled eggs and today would not be that day. I chose the items mentioned on the menu, turkey bacon and fruit. Their version was on the healthy side especially with the hollandaise sauce served on the side. A mild salsa was also served on the side as a healthier substitute for the hollandaise. A pleasant surprise was the fruit cup. At other restaurants, it would mostly be comprised of grapes. Theirs were blueberries and strawberries with some pineapple pieces. My waitress would come by several times with a coffee pot. Because my food was served quickly, I only needed my cup refilled once. The check had several gratuity options calculated pre-tax. When I went to pay, the register had different options. The actual amounts were not listed, so I chose to enter a custom amount. read more

Found this place when running an errand and decided to check it out. Crazy enough the have a sign saying people on yelp hate th and google loves them but I'm not sure how anyone could hate them. I went with my brother and nephews and everyone at the table was shocked how good the quality of food was and how nice of a place and amazing staff. I have nothing bad to say. This unassuming place, located in a strip mall on University is easy to pass by and not even know you did. But then you would be missing out. Walk in though and you are in for a treat! First & LAST time! I wish I'd taken a picture of my plate, didn't want to be rude since we were a group, but it looked nothing like the pix on their website! Everything on my plate was cooked beyond poorly! Eggs over medium ran clear liquid (although my husband's over medium eggs were slightly burnt). Biscuits were maybe 1/2" thick & burnt on the bottom. Ordered sausage gravy on the side & had to ask 3 times before I got it near the end of the meal & either they were low on gravy at 9am & watered it down or they don't know how to make gravy bc it poured like my Diet Coke. Paid extra for hash browns & they were literally BROWN, like deep fried crunchy sticks! I picked at my plate & gave it back to the server when she brought our check & expressed my disappointment, as evident by my full plate. I received an apology & an excuse that since one person in our party ordered their bacon "extra crispy", the new server she was training must have written down "extra crispy" for my hash browns. But no offer to remove my uneaten meal from the check. As someone whose been cooking breakfast for 50+ years, it's one of the easiest meals to prepare, IMO. Although a lot of components, if you actually mess up every item on the plate, it might be time to get a new cook! P.S. I drove through Burger King on the way home, for a breakfast sandwich that was better than Egg House Cafe! read more

I ordered "Waffles & More", which consisted of a waffle (of course), 2 eggs (which is ordered soft scrambled with cheese) and a choice of meat (which is substituted for hash browns). My kind waitress asked if I'd like to add cheese, onions, and jalapeños to my hash browns at no extra charge. It sounded good so I excepted the offer. Sometimes there is a wait for a table bit most people don't take a long time to eat breakfast so the line moves fast. When the in-laws come to town they always want to go here. After a morning of errands in the Denton, I decided to checkout Egg House based on other Yelp recommendations. The establishment itself is fairly sized with open seating. Upon entering I was greeted properly and sat, given it was a Monday morning it wasn't as crowded. Menu has plenty of options, however I decided upon the Biscuit & Gravy omelette. Pictures I had saw prior to ordering look pretty good, however the sausage gravy was bland in my opinion. Pricing was fairly decent compared to other breakfast places I fancy. Overall the service was great, my coffee stayed full .. my review is solely based off taste and Egg House just didn't do it for me. I definitely give them another shot, though I'll have to comb the menu a tad bit more next go around. read more

A pleasant surprise. I was visiting some friends and found this place using yelp. After seeing some reviews I decided to give it a try. The strip mall facade was a throw off on what we found once we went inside. Very clean ambiance and friendly young staff. I had the traditional breakfast and my wife had the avacado toast. I am very glad I followed the recommendations on Yelp, we were not disappointed, and neither were our friends. All of us ordered different breakfast entrees, it was fun to see all the different plates. I am a HUGE Eggs Benedict fan, so I was torn on what to order. They have several different versions of Eggs Benedict on the menu. But at the last minute, I pivoted and ordered their Sothern Omelet on the recommendation of our, friendly and welcoming, server. My wife ordered the crepes, and I did end up choosing the Southern Omelet. Both of our entrees, along with our friend's entrees, were delicious. One of the standouts of the restaurant is the specialty coffee, "Segafredo Zanetti," they serve. Their brewing technique allowed them to pour a fantastic cup of coffee. We were in Denton and needed to find something to eat before we headed home. After a quick search, we found the Egg House Cafe, which is exactly the type of place we wanted. It was almost lunch time but we wanted breakfast. The women that greeted us when we arrived and the server were all very welcoming and friendly. I don't see the item I ordered on their online menu, but I highly recommend it. It was an avocado "sammich". It had an over medium egg, avocado, tomato and cheese on a bun. I'm probably missing something in that list! It came with hash browns , which were really nothing special. Good, but not different from what I have had other places. It would be hard to order something else if we ever went back that way, although the waffle with berries looked amazing! Rich had the steak skillet. It had hash browns, eggs, spinach, onions and was topped with cheese and grilled ribeye. I don't know that I'd be that brave to order a steak from a diner, but it was really great! It came with a side of bread or a pancake. He chose the biscuit and split it with me. It had a fantastic flavor! I wasn't a fan that they toasted it (had never seen that before) and it was very small, but the taste and texture beat out those things.
