Dr. Ngo has been my eye doctor for over 10 years. She has watch me grow from middle school to my professional career now. She knows my eyes best. She is the only medical profession I have that I will purposely select a health care plan for. I am willing to change dentist and regular physician by not my optometrist. She takes the time to make sure she gives you the correct prescription. My prescription has always been just right. Her staff is patience with me when I am selecting my new frames. I can be a picky person when it comes to my eye wear they are great in helping me shop. Great part of all is that she has Saturday appointments (which feels up quick!). I love the flexibility of her office to get me in (working around my work schedule can be hard at times). Go over and check her out! Her staff is super sweet. Dr. Ngo is very patient and very responsible, she took the time to make sure my prescription is accurate, apparently my previous prescription is too high resulted me having headaches for over a year, Dr. Ngo took time to repeatedly adjust the degrees to make sure I am comfortable with it. After the exam, her assistant also took extra efforts to help finding the contact lenses, 5 star service. read more

My wife and i have been going to Dr. Ngo for a couple of years. The service is great and she seems to really care about what we need and want. We previously went to another nearby optometrist and always got the feeling that he was trying to get more money out of us. Charge for this test or that. Steer you to the higher-end designer frames, etc. Another friend of ours felt the same way. (And we didn't put her up to it... one day she just asked if we could recommend an optometrist because she didn't realy think she could trust the guy she'd been going to. It was the same one we had seen before.) But we never get that impression from Dr. Ngo. She gladly works with our VSP plan. For example showing frames she'll say, "Start with these frames what will be completely covered by your plan. If you don't like those, then these other ones will be $20 over what your plan covers..." For lenses... "Your plan covers these lenses. If you want the thinner ones that will be $10 extra." Stuff like that. It's hard to explain exactly, but she just gives you the impression that she's someone you can trust completely. She's really providing a service and not just running a business trying to make money off of you. Another thing that's really great is that the office has such a family atmosphere. Her baby's with her in the office. Her mom helps out. It's a really warm and friendly environment. More businesses should be so human. Five Stars to Dr Ngo! read more

I've been to many optometrists but Dr. Ngo is the best! She has a wide selection of frames and can work with you on picking them out. Her office is easy to find and is located across the Berryessa Century theaters so parking shouldn't be a problem. The staff is super friendly. It's easy to get an appointment and I love small businesses. They may not offer the same services as Costco, but the service they do offer is excellent. Dr. Ngo has been my eye doctor since I was a small child and I have been seeing here ever since. The doctor and staff are great and have always been pleasant. I have been wearing glasses for some time and only trust my eyes to Dr. Ngo. I currently live an an hour and a half away from the doctors office so it is nice that they offer Saturday appointments so that I don't have to miss any additional time from work. Seeing one star reviews, I'm not sure what those people were thinking. I've been going to this place for the last 6 years. Appointments are always punctual and the staff is courteous and efficient. Eye exam is probably the worst part of the normal protocol because you have to guess between two similar prescriptions about 20 times so she can hone in on the right one, but often they just look the same and I end up just picking a random one The best part is that she goes over the insurance plan before bringing out frames to try on, clearly expressing which ones are completely covered and which one goes a bit over. The doctor was very detail-orientated and gave very comprehensive examination. Since I have high prescription, she also spent time checking if my eyes have retina detachment. Absolutely knowledgeable, competent, comprehensive, charming and accommodating. A perfect balance of professional and personable. I needed an eye exam. But, I was worried. I'm new to San Jose. Even though I've lived in many places, I always went home and saw the same optometrist I've seen for 42 years. It is hard to match that level of comfort and security. But, she did it. She was able to be totally present with my concerns. She addressed them empathetically and collaboratively. A most excellent problem solver. I have a hard time with progressive lenses. I have struggled for years trying to embrace them. She listened to me go on and on about how I am inside of my body and the way they always feel upside down. And when I was done, she had the simplest most logical solution to the problem. Her prices are reasonable. Her staff thoroughly researched what my insurance covers. Turns out, I was able to afford two pairs of glasses that have all the bells and whistles. I am elated! It feels like I not only get a basic everyday dress.. and it will be immaculately tailored ... plus a ballgown throw in as an extra. I've never had a frivolous pair of glasses in my life. Well done. Way to make a lady feel fabulous. Just as an added bonus, the patient before me was an elder who had some speech challenges. She and the staff were amazingly patient, caring, and supportive. I've been coming to Dr. Ngo for pretty much my whole life now. She's only down the street from where I live so it's super convenient. She is really nice and caring. Dr. Ngo knows what she's talking about only wants the best for her patients. Kat who is Dr. Ngo's assistant/receptionist is really friendly too. Her whole staff is really nice and friendly also but I see Kat most of the time I'm there. They have many different kinds of glasses to choose from and also many different contact brands. They help you pick out what's compatible and looks good for you and she tells you all the pricing beforehand so it's not a huge shocker when you're done. I really recommend Dr. Ngo. Dr. Ngo went above and beyond to find me the absolute thinnest lenses for my extremely strong Rx. I had been wearing the same pair of glasses for the last four years because they were a lab mistake from Mountain View Optometry. The mistake was they made them super-thin and then couldn't replicate them again! So for four years, I searched for another optician who had the guts to try to make lenses as thin as the ones I was wearing. To no avail until I found Dr. Ngo! She gave me my new pair of glasses today and they were THINNER than my lab mistake even though my Rx was worse than 4 years ago!! Unbelieavably awesome and amazing. I am so happy I could cry! She told me what she went through to get these lenses super thin -- she said the doctor has to specify the Rx a certain way and she used a provider that creates digital lenses using the most cutting-edge technology. I had my Chanel prescription glasses taken here to have it made into prescription sunglasses years ago. They said that there are possibilities of the front frames breaking, but mine looks pretty secure. Anyway, long story short, recently I had it taken to another optometrist, they said the front glasses frame are not original Chanel, but the temple parts were.
