we ordered our food at around 545pm on Christmas day, we were given a delivery estimate of about an hour. we were aware that Chinese restaurants are busy on this day. we called a little over an hour later when our food had not arrived, and were told it had not yet been cooked and maybe it would be another 40 minutes or more. We asked if it would be helpful and quicker if we picked it up instead of delivery. we were told , it wouldn't make a difference because it hadn't been cooked. we said ok and waited another 50 minutes before calling again for an update. again we were told the food hadn't been cooked and it could be another 40 minutes or so, no guarantees. it would have been helpful and much more professional to be told the truth right from the beginning that they were backed up and it could be several hours before food would be ready. Or even smarter- stop taking additional orders. instead - we called another local restaurant- placed our order and were told it would be ready in 15 minutes. obviously we canceled our order with you and will not order again and will not recommend your restaurant to anyone we know. read more

Northfield Garden is in a small strip mall on US-9. They are primarily a Chinese takeout, but they do also serve dine-in customers, albeit with only two available tables. One thing I noticed is service is very good and the lady will take care of anything that you need. As a plus, pretty much the entire takeout menu is available for dine-in and the combination platters are quite impressive when served on a plate instead of in a takeout box. As always, the first thing I tried was the pork egg foo young. It's a benchmark I use for all Chinese takeout places and here, they did rather well. The egg foo young wasn't too oily and having a bowl of gravy on the side kept it from getting soggy. Definitely would revisit this place the next time I'm in Northfield. read more

I have been patronizing the restaurant since they have opened and have always been happy with their food. The soups are flavorful and always consistently good. The shrimp rolls are tasty and not greasy at all. Whether I order chow fun, lo mein, pepper steak, or beef with broccoli they are on point. We particularly love their spare ribs and order them often. This is the BEST Chinese restaurant in Atlantic county IMO. I order from here once every week and have never had a bad meal. Everything is always fresh and flavorful. Try the orange chicken and pork fried rice or the black bean beef. Best appetizers and soups too (awesome chicken on a stick and wonton soup). I always order hot chili oil on the side, I don't even have to ask anymore as the lady who works at the counter/phone always remembers to send it with my delivery order without me asking.. its nice to see a business remember small details like that!. We ate IN, we started with vegetable lo mein you could tell it was made fresh and it was delish. I will order it again. Pizza rolls although not traditional Chinese restaurant fare, my son and his girlfriend said they were the best so we had those. They were delish, hard to put pizza sauce and cheese in an egg roll wrapper fry it and it not be awesome. Egg rolls were great, fresh as well. My son and I ordered the General Tso's Chicken, it had a strong ketchup smell and flavor that we did not care for, but it was fresh and the rice was good. My son's girlfriend had the Sesame Chicken...she said it was great! Although I will not order the General Tso's again. I will for sure be back to try another dish. 5 stars for vegetarian options! Unlike most american Chinese food places, this one has many tofu options and everything they make with meat they also make in a vegetable version. I had to try this place when I found out they made General Tso's tofu (as general Tso's chicken was a favorite of mine when I used to eat meat) and it definitley delivered! Although it wasn't crispy like normal general chicken (as expected since it is tofu) the sauce was the same and if not for the softness you could not tell a difference! We ordered a large veg fried rice, pt of vegetable Lo mein, 2 orders of veg spring rolls (very crispy and delicious), vegetable dumplings (amazing!!) a huge thing of mixed Chinese vegetables all for $30 and got 2 big things of white rice and a 2 liter soda ( we opted for the iced tea instead) for free! And all in 10 minutes from when we called might I add :D Staff was super friendly and everything was delicous! I can't wait to come back and try all the other tofu/ vegetarian options! read more

By far the most delicious Chinese take out I have ever had. It's not the stereo typical Chinese take out with overly sauced meats. I normally order the BBQ boneless ribs and it is amazing.
