This was super convenient! Just a short drive away is the renaissance shopping area which is also really nice. I think most people keep to themselves but I would say everyone is generally pretty friendly. I liked the pet stations that were around the property. Unfortunately, we were forced to look for another place to live due to an unprovoked homophobic attack by our downstairs neighbor. Police were called and she was arrested, but what followed was almost worse than the incident itself. The property management refused to do anything! We sent over the arrest record, video of the arrest, photos where she egged our apartment and nothing was done. The conduct of the tenant in the apartment below us was clearly in violation of the lease (unless Aspire is okay with homophobia?) but nothing was done. They didn't even have the decency to clean the egg off the side of our building as requested. I sent several emails and phone calls asking to escalate the situation to someone higher than the property manager as it seemed she was unwilling to do anything but after that, it was just silence. I realize the above scenario is incredibly specific, but if something like that went unaddressed, I wonder how many other complaints are falling on deaf ears. If not for the above, I think we might have stayed longer despite the high cost of living there. Not just in rent, but the absurd cost to do laundry and hope the dryer you put money into decides to work that day. The cost of utilities exploded in recent years without any explanation. The grounds used to be clean and well maintained, but in recent months was looking pretty bad with kids' toys and bikes strewn across the property. Hopefully they have gotten that under control but it seems unlikely. The worst part in our last months of living there was the lack of communication. Years ago if any major work or inspection was happening, we would get notified way in advance. Before we moved, we were getting notifications on our door less than 24 hours before the noted time. Good luck trying to talk to anyone! The office has posted hours but more likely than not, you'll see a closed sign. I think the neighborhood is great, but there are a lot of other options in the area and I recommend looking around before settling on Aspire. I really loved living here before the property management switch. I'm not sure I would recommend it now.

I have lived in many apartments in my lifetime and their leasing process was definitely the smoothest, quickest and most time efficient. As a nice touch. they even provided a little goodie bag upon move-in that included basic essentials like toilet paper, paper towels, and cleaning products.... their customer service is unmatched in the area. As for the complex, I've lived here just a few weeks, but have had no issues at all.

I emailed Brian again to see if I could take a tour. He told me they had availability from 8-4 and they'd be closing at 12 on Wednesday and be off Thursday and Friday for thanksgiving. My bf and I were thinking about applying to another spot, but I told him let's take a look here albeit smaller, lower in price and it includes the W/D. I took time off work, using 2 hours of my VAC time and found myself running a little late. I called at the 3:50 and told him that I was running late that I'd be there around 3:56 that I just want to take a look at the room don't even need a super detailed tour. He said if I got there in the next 5 minutes I could be there, but he said they have a hard closing of 4 pm for the showroom. I explained that I'd be there before 4 and that I used vacation time and there was more traffic than expected and I would hope they have more flexibility and understanding for potential tenants. I asked if there was anyone else I could speak to, but he said he would be the person to speak to since they are privately owned. I'm just bummed out, used my vacation time, and just hoped for some flexibility. They should include their office hours and then showroom hours on their email signature and other information that shows their hours.

A concern that I had was the stairs' railings that were wide. Also, the top of the stairs to the bottom had a railing short enough for a determined child to jump from. I worried that my children would fall and get seriously hurt. We had to buy a board to place over the gaps, as my toddler liked to dangle her legs through them. The last night we spent there, our toddler actually sat by the railing and dangled her legs through. It actually reinforced to us how important that board had been. Not anyone's fault but ours though. We didn't anticipate that this would be a problem. My major issue with this place was an infestation we had, and how the staff handled it. From implying that we were not being sanitary, and providing a treatment that was not helpful especially because we had to leave our house for 3+ hours for the treatment to penetrate, and even then, the issue was not resolved. Another issue is the trash spot being on the same line as the homes. The trash was basically your next door neighbor. Additionally, the trash area doesn't seem big enough to accommodate the residents' trash. Most times, the place would be overflowing with trash. This just created a breeding ground for bugs- which there are. The problem with certain bugs is that they are resilient, and you would essentially need to break down the floor boards to get rid of them. So, back to my point: no amount of treatment will work if they don't get to the source. It will be a costly venture for sure. My tip: when you get there, don't get too excited, and once you see even one bug, call them and tell them! Keep a record of your conversations. If you let enough time pass by, you will see more, and by then, you've lived there long enough that they will flip it on you and say you caused the issue. No amount of paint overs will solve this. My family and I could have enjoyed this place really. But the bug issues made it hard to continue to live in.

But with a little tightening up, finding parking is more convenient. The grounds are pretty and well maintained. Cameras are around the complex and security is friendly and approachable. The main reason for this review though is to shout out Corenlio and Miriam. All maintenance staff complete jobs efficiently and are friendly but Corenlio greets everyone I see as if he knows them personally. I've seen him picking up trash around the complex, and when he fixed our broken dishwasher, he helped clean up the water overflow and organized under the sink. He does more than his job description should be. Miriam has been friendly, approachable, and personable since our move in tour of the apt. All office staff are quick to help and fix problems but Miriam will have conversation with tenants when she walks around the complex. She said once that our 16 year old dog looked like a baby. So come on, give that woman a raise! Thank you Solamonte for giving us a wonderful place to live.

Mike, sam, and another SUPER kind gentleman but I seemed to have forgotten how to spell his name but I left him a review on another site. It started with a D so if you guys could remind me that would be great! So I can properly recognize him on here. The property is VERY well kept, and beautifully maintained. Pool has always been clean, same for the gym. I only have a few downsides (notice I didn't remove any stars for them) I know they do TRY. (Maybe corporate can work on the parking one). First is parking- please note your vehicle will have to fit in the tandem spot. (There are various sizes, some are long enough to fit a semi while others would only fit a smart car) I know it may seem like an obvious fact but some people actually get away with it if their neighbors seem fine with it. However, one of my neighbors did NOT. I have 4 kids in car seats and when we moved in, we had a smaller vehicle but we knew we were going to get a larger one. We got an SUV & Our parking spot was all the way to the back of the alley, so it was pretty "out of the way". But we still got complaints (pretty sure from the same person) that it stuck out of the given space. We tried parking it in our garage, but because we would be unable to open the doors and load all the kids in, it wasn't really an option. We ended up having to park in the visitor parking. Which was also unfavorable since we had to carry/ walk with our 4 small kids across the parking lot and up to our unit. So please be mindful of that. Second- while this specific area of Rancho is beautiful and overall "safe", PLEASE remember to lock your cars. I can admit I have left my guard down a few times and I didn't double check that the cars were locked so my car got broken into and my mother's bag was stolen. The vehicle was parked in our tandem spot. We did file a police report and the leasing office DID do their best to resolve any issues we had (they replaced my apartment keys and changed the lock on my unit.) so again I really couldn't dock them for that. I'm only sharing these things with you as reminders. I don't want these things to deter you from considering Carmel as a place to live because we did enjoy living there and we were very sad that we left. Overall, the highlights are the staff and the appearance of the apartment complex as a whole. Thank you Carmel for a great year with you!
