Malcolm Yards review 080226…read moreBrunch Malcolm Yards is a fun place to get different kinds of food. It has a cool industrial vibe. You have to get a card when you enter which you use to scan & pay for your order. We haven't gone in a while and there were a few changes. We loved Abang Yoli's charred cauliflower and we're so sad that it's no longer there. We also like the dosa from Momo Dosa that's no longer there. We ordered from different places: * Kinsley's - pastrami Reuben - pretty good for Minneapolis but nothing like a NYC meat sandwich * Del Sur - choripan, beef & chorizo empanadas * Wrecktangle - Splinter pizza to go - it had everything we wanted on a pizza, really crispy & tasty * Eggflip - cool guy bacon - my husband says it's the best breakfast sandwich he's ever had * Saturday Dumpling - pork & cabbage pan fried dumplings were a bit smaller than expected but tasted fine; scallion pancake chips were amazing, we had it with the Szechuan cream cheese dip, so good * World Street Kitchen - tofu yum yum rice bowl was good as expected; also ordered the caramelized Brussels sprouts - they didn't tell us until we were picking up the order that they were out of the fish sauce dressing. We tried it, but it didn't taste like nothing so we asked them if they had any other sauce that we could put on it and they said there was none so we unfortunately had to ask for a refund. We offered to return it, but they said it was ours so we took it home and it's still in the fridge days later untouched. * Bebe zito - had olive oil & another ice cream - very good and creamy

Stopped here to do birthday desserts!! Here are the key things to note!…read more Free parking Great patio!! It was covered and the flowers around this place are gorgeous!! You are looking out to a street but the flowers REALLY make up for that! There is inside seating as well, table and chairs. You walk up and order. The desserts and separate from the main course items. I appreciated that! Made the lines go faster. The service on the other hand was lacking. I stood there waiting while 2 people had a convo and I felt ignored. I dropped a star for that reason. The key lime pie and dirt cup were very tasty!! This place is known for its "pattiecake" but I just felt it was a regular chocolate cake with frosting. They have plenty of desserts though! Overall this place gives "up scale Panera vibes" and I liked it! I would go back!

After several visits over the last few years, here are my thoughts…read more -Lots of seating! If you're looking for a table indoors and the main area is packed, head to the back (towards bathrooms) where you'll find two rooms with additional seating which are usually quieter. - I tend to go for sandwiches, which include house made chips. Honestly, when I first went, I wasn't a fan of the chips, but it didn't take long for me to like them. Once while dining in, I found that most of them were just tiny bits. Well when the waiter came to ask how things were, I told/showed him... just as an FYI, not expecting anything. Well, he kindly brought me a bag to replace them. -The staff is mostly kind, with two male waiters/runners being especially nice and helpful. While myself or others are waiting they'll give friendly smiles, see if you need anything in the meantime. I like them! - Although I go mainly for the sandwiches, (my favorite being the Southwest Chicken Panini available in the Fall), I also like the mac and cheese and fries. I used to love the coconut cake, but something about the last one I bought tasted different. The filling and the cake texture... weren't as tasty as I remember. During my last visit I tried, the Reuben. Not for me, but they have lots of other things to try.

Tried a few things at the north loop galley…read more The Hawaiian place has some really yummy and fulfilling bits - one thing about it is we did not order something but it was rang and charged. To our surprise the food arrived and we were confused. They wouldn't let us "return" the food we didn't order. Ended up to to duplicate items. It was a bit awkward but next time I will make sure to ask clearly. Hence taking off the star The hot chicken sandwich was okay as well - it wasn't as juicy as I liked. Nice vibe and open concept. Nice place for people to hang out.

Another city, another epic food hall. Ok maybe this is more like a galley, like the name implies,…read morebut it's no less wonderful. Sitting in one of Minneapolis's most desirable neighborhoods, North loop galley features 4-5 eateries and a bar, with both indoor and outdoor spaces to lounge as you enjoy a diverse group of pop up eateries. There's even a wide selection of board and table top games to enhance an already fun space. I've had my fair share of Detroit style pizza, and Wrecktangle is up there as some of the best. The m we my features so much more than your ordinary red top. Ingredients like hot honey, burrata, and even pork belly make these pies not only unique, but absolutely satisfying. Feeling tropical? How about Ono Hawaiian, bring a little bit of Hawaii to Minnesota. The luau bowl is a mountain of food. Chicken katsu, kalua pork, rice, and macaroni salad. This looks and feels exactly like some of food I've had in Hawaii, and it's every bit as good. The pork is bursting with flavor and the chicken katsu couldn't have been executed any better. The katsu sauce takes it to a whole other level. This galley is so many things all once: Great food, great drinks, great meeting place, great entertainment, great hangout in all seasons. Simply put....North loop galley is a Vibe!

I stopped in around 1 p.m., and there was a steady flow of people coming in for lunch. It also seemed like there were quite a few regulars, which is always a good sign! I loved that I could get there through the skyway. Once inside, there's plenty of seating, but you'll want to head toward the back to order. They have separate made-to-order lines for wraps and salads and for burgers. I ordered the mushroom and Swiss burger with a side of coleslaw for around $14, which I thought was pretty reasonable for a made-to-order burger downtown. My food came out surprisingly quickly! The burger was juicy with plenty of mushrooms and melted Swiss, plus fresh lettuce and tomato. The coleslaw was also really good--finely chopped, refreshing, well-seasoned, and not overly vinegary. One of my favorite little touches was the complimentary infused-water station. I tried the watermelon water, and after walking around downtown on a summer day, it was SO refreshing! There's plenty of seating, including booths by the windows where you can sit and people-watch while you eat. Between the quick service, good food, reasonable price, and comfortable seating, Dave's is a great option for a casual downtown lunch. I'd definitely stop in again if I'm in the area!
