    The Breakfast Quickie? Yes please.
    Chad G.

I really enjoyed this place. Great location near the convention center. It has an old timey diner feel, which I liked. My server was great. Super nice and attentive. The pricing was a little on the high side for a greasy spoon/diner, but they have one offering that was perfect for me. The Breakfast Quickie was two eggs and toast for $6.99. It's just right. Probably gonna go there for all my breakfasts while I'm in town. UPDATE: I went back again my last day here and it was great. This place is a solid 4.5 stars. It'd be a 5 star, but the price point just seems a bit too high. Still worth your time.

I'm town for a conference and this diner was close to the convention center. Open 24 hours, after a long day, I stopped in for a late night breakfast. Later in the week, I ordered an early morning lunch. Old school vibe with booths all around and a diner table seating. Both food items were good; the All American Breakfast and Turkey Club with fries, chicken wild rice soup and strawberry shake (see photos) all at a reasonable price. This rating would have been a 5 star but the customer service was horrible during the morning. We waited 15 minutes to be seated with 3 open tables during the morning shift.

Literally came here on 4am after an afterparty and I have to say, it was more chill than expected. I expected people to say beware of the characters that come out late night but the sunday morning that I've had food, I was disappointed thar it was rather mundane. Maybe Minneapolis is just pedestrian compared to LA... So service is slow, but what did you expect at 4am? Ordered the Jolly Roger burger and the food took...25 minutes despite the lack of crowds. Take that as you will. Food is aight. I'd give it a 3 of 5 for the mundane atmosphere, nothing special but nothing wrong. Y'all lied to me Ha. Didn't get sick, filled up. Laughed at the notion that I'd get sick from the food which I doubt and proved wrong. It's slow, yes but I don't find it bad. The novelty of eating here would wear out after the 2nd time though. The price tag was a little high but it's expected for a 24/7 downtown area. Overall it's a spot I'd only go once to be honest, and perhaps one of the only spots to come back super late from an event and notnworry about stuff closing.

First time at Nicollet Diner and it definitely won't be my last. Came through for a late-night breakfast and ordered the sausage, eggs, and French toast... and I instantly fell in love. Everything was cooked just right and hit the spot exactly how a late-night diner meal should. The vibe was warm and inviting, and the staff seemed super friendly, which always makes the experience better. Loved the energy of the place and can't wait to come back and try more. Solid first visit all around.

Quickie over easy. Homemade strawberry jam was yummy.

Food was standard for a greasy spoon. The issue I have is there is minimal for healthy eaters and vegans (vegan sausage, fruit cup, ...). I desperately needed a coffee but I'm dairy intolerant and they have no milk alternatives. Service was slow, but eventually efficient.

The atmosphere is so relaxing. The waiter and service inside is super friendly and the food is amazing.

    A most delectable American breakfast.

I believe this was the third place I tried in the area, and the first that wasn't a food hall. I needed something to replace my hole in the wall diner from my previous life; instead I got something better. An lgbtqia+ diner with all gender restrooms? Sign me up! Our server (whom I can't remember the name of but will do my best to give a shout-out if I can) not only was extremely sweet, but made me feel seen as the queer individual I am. He gave suggestions on nearby places, told us about his experiences, ensured we were comfortable, well taken care of, and that the food was good. Oh, and the food was VERY good. The best breakfast I have ever had, I think, which is definitely saying something. Eggs, pancakes, bacon, all cooked to perfection. The chef could cook a leather boot and I would still tip him a 20. We will be back for the drag art as well as the divine gifts they call food.

I'm visiting Minneapolis for a conference and decided to stop in for a bite to eat. It was about 9:00 p.m.. the atmosphere was cute and our server was really friendly. The food not so great. I ordered a bowl of chicken and rice soup. It arrived. Barely warm and the soup for sure was not homemade. It was quite bland and quite thick as if it came out of a can and the correct amount of water or milk hadn't been added. I ordered a side biscuit. It came cut in half and toasted, which surprised me. For a whole biscuit that was flaky and less like an English muffin. Come visit for the atmosphere and the drinks and the convenience of 24-hour restaurant. Don't expect a gourmet meal.

We ended up on the second floor a kind of seat yourself situation and we noticed everyone else who did the same thing seemed confused. I made a reservation but I'm not sure I would bother because no one seemed aware it was there. The waitress assigned to our table kind of disappeared and the whole experience would have been pretty terrible but the bar tender waiting on other tables noticed we hadn't been helped a did a great job taking care of us. I might also mention it wasn't very busy. We had breakfast food which was exactly what we ordered. My scrambled eggs were perfect. My fruit cup had too much melon for my taste but that's personal preference. It's a pretty interesting looking place. There are some games you can play.

Wakin' Bakin' Burger and a Side of Onion Rings

I have passed by this place a lot and never went in until tonight. Decided to walk over and stop in for dinner. The ambiance is your typical retro diner. Stationary bar stools that swivel, open kitchen so you can watch them cook, and booths/tables surround a odd-shaped horseshoe bar that is flanked very closely by a side bar stocked with your normal liquor and mixers. No frills. They apparently are known for their milkshakes. Service was great. It was only one server that was doing it all and he was managing really well although it wasn't too busy when I was there (Monday evening). I decided to get the "Wakin Bakin Burger" which is just their breakfast burger with an egg and bacon. Overall it was average. I do want to give them credit for the double patty. I had the side of onion rings with ranch. Good size portions overall for the money. Ranch Rating: 4 out of 5. Good consistency. Creamy. Great accompaniment to the onion rings. I'll be back at a later time when it's more lively and will update the ambiance if needed.

The food although well prepared is basically average and similar to a Denny's. Pluses are that it is close to the hotels and open 24 hours. Expect higher than average downtown pricing.

Been quite a few times, but mainly because it's the only restaurant open as late as it is. Very much diner vibes, and I usually go after 2am, so a very interesting crowd. I will say it's usually a wait to get in and it takes some time to get the food but it is hot and fresh when it comes out and is pretty good. I think they do a great job of handling that late night crowd and serving a bunch or people who may have been partying all night and just need some food.

    Nicole C.

Hmmm...this is one interesting place. It has the potential of being good and fun but really misses the mark when it comes to efficiency of seating and serving. The people working there were pleasant, the wait time was 40 min (even though we were able to make a reservation, which was not honored) and it was so obvious that there was limited drive to move things along. Two booths were being used to store dirty dishes vs seating customers who had been waiting over 30 min. Open spots at the counter were not being utilized. There were times that empty tables sat there for 5-10 min before seating people. Our actual server was very pleasant. The food, which also took a long time to come out was above average but two hours was way too long to have been there for the quality of the food to matter much. Sounded like an amazing drag brunch in the other room but the diner itself was a bit of a bust.

Recently my adult son, adult daughter and I gathered for a weekday breakfast at this trendy place. In my experience the descriptor "trendy" often has a somewhat negative connotation. It can be associated with long lines, high prices, harried staff and mediocre food. IMHO none of those things are associated with The Breakfast Club. We started by sharing an order of Monkey Bread [ (roughly a cinnamon/caramel dough baked in a bundt pan (or at least something round and hollow)], topped with icing and with sections that one may tear off). A bit messy but overall a great start to the day. My son and daughter both ordered more conventional breakfasts and both were very pleased with their choices. I went with the Senor Borracho which I found flavorful and delicious. I love a good Huevos Rancheros and the Borracho is an interesting twist on the classic dish. Service was excellent. The coffee was decent and mugs were kept full. Noise didn't seem problematic. Parking could be an issue at times.
