Then he left for a month, funeral or something, which is understandable. Then he texts me about a month later asking if I needed anything else done, which I said yeah, the tie rods would be great. He has me order the parts & then sets up a day to come over. Ok cool I'm thinking, I get everything planned out, parts are delivered, I let him know & he says he'll be by in 3 days after 6pm. An hour before he's supposed to be there he texts that his daughter is sick & he is starting to feel sick too & he will get a hold of me when he figures out his schedule. 3 days goes by with nothing, I text him finally to find out what's going on & that I'm probably going to have to find a real mechanic to do the work & he says he won't be able to work on my car because life overwhelmed him this past week/weekend. On July 3, 2023 I took the car to Tuffy in Cadillac Michigan to have the oil checked and they found the oil to be excessive by 1 1/2 quarts. Way too much and they drained it down to the correct level.

We took our vehicle to the nearest auto repair and they confirmed it was an issue with the alternator and at the current rate, we wouldn't make it back home without repairing it. Although helpful, they unfortunately could not service our vehicle due to being short staffed. Knowing this was an alternator issue we called several other auto repair businesses (including a Honda dealership) and no one had any availability until the following week; it was currently Wednesday. Losing hope and already thinking of alternative ways to get home we called Traverse City Public Service Garage (TCPSG) and they luckily had someone available to re-diagnose and potentially service our vehicle (it was about 1pm at this time). Upon arrival they were able to verify the issue, order the faulty part from one of their local suppliers, have it delivered, and installed it in about 4 hours or so. While there was an element of luck that came into play (available mechanic, supplier with the part, time of day, etc.), the service we received was both friendly and fair all things considered. The good folks at TCPSG got our vehicle back up and running and we ultimately got back home later that evening safely and in one piece. From me and my family, thank you Traverse City Public Service Garage for your hospitality and quality service.

The first person who looked at it thought the AC compressor needed to be replaced to be safe to drive but they had a second person look at it and he was able to offer a quick fix to get us up and going. Our truck broke down nearby right before the 4th of July weekend while we were on a road trip from Louisville, KY. We were completely stranded with a trailer and a ton of gear. ​Even though they had a long line of vehicles ahead of us and the holiday coming up, they were incredibly proactive. Our truck arrived on Wednesday, and they diagnosed the issue right away as a failed fuel pump. They ordered the part immediately so it would be on hand, while being very honest that they wouldn't be able to actually do the physical repair until the following Tuesday. ​They kept their word perfectly. Once Tuesday came around, they got our truck into the bay, replaced the fuel pump in a single day, and had us back on the road by Tuesday evening! ​To top it all off, the price was extremely fair and very affordable compared to what we are used to paying for a major repair like a fuel pump back home in Louisville.
