After waiting 3 months for a part for my fridge I finally was told that the company I hired, who said they could fix it, told me "Sorry, can't do it" I called the manufacturer and they gave me the # for northwest home appliance. Yuri fixed it in about 45 minutes! It was amazing. He also fixed a burner on my range! So happy! The company and yuri are great! I will never use anyone else! read more

So after reading the posts about Yuri & Natalia, I agree that they need a class in customer service. Perhaps it is cultural, but they are pretty much robotic in terms of their communication and business "style." On the flip side, my fridge did get fixed and the problem was solved. Beware however as what they say $95 for the first 20 minutes is TRUE. They will hold you to the second. The "clock" starts from WHEN HE TURNS OFF THE ENGINE IN HIS CAR (his words) to the time he writes up the invoice, so if you have to move stuff around, he will charge you. $95 bucks was really spent on his knowledge of how to fix the problem. I had a great experience with NW Home Appliance for the repair of my Liebherr refrigerator. Few places work with this brand so I was skeptical on how the experience would be given the mixed reviews here. We had to order some parts but were able to set a second appointment quickly after the parts arrived. Yuri was timely, efficient and seemed to know what he was doing. Initially he was cool and "to the point" but he warmed up a bit with time. He answered my questions and gave very clear explanations. I expected this would be an expensive repair and it was--but the expense came from the part not the labor. They guarantee their work for a year but hopefully we won't need to test that. The only thing that prevents me from giving 5-stars is that the first time I called them and left a message, I didn't get a call back. We did connect on a second try and things went well from that point forward. I will use them again if needed. read more

Dryer wasn't working. The tumbler was working but not drying. I called Northwest Home Appliance & told them the problem along with make & model of the dryer. Yuri came out, disgruntled & unpleasant, he met with my wife. One look at the dryer & said he doesn't have the parts to fix it. Told her the dryer is discontinued. And for all of this wonderful insight, $95 please. We refused to pay him & he freaked out. If we gave you the make & model over the phone, why didn't you tell us that? And why are you charging us $95? His response was 'I checked the lint trap'..... Really? My wife isn't that dumb. Good for my wife to not get pushed around. Yuri has come to my house twice to fix my LG Washer/Dryer. I have always found him to be prompt and not only has he has fixed the problem both times, he knew instantly what was wrong and fixed it quickly. The person in the office has always been polite and accommodating. I'm surprised to see so many negative reviews. As someone else said "he's not Mr. Congeniality" but I've never found him rude; he is just all business. So what? I've had workers in my house that have been friendly but didn't not know what they were doing and I had to have someone else come in to fix what they "fixed". I recommend him! read more

I've now had two awful experiences with this company. The first one was with our hood vent that was under warranty and Yuri was sent out to repair it. I told him what was happening and I swear he thought I was making it up. Not sure if it has to do with me being female, but he talked down to me and was pretentious and condescending. He replaced a part but it didn't fix the issue and we had to have another repair company come out that had extensive knowledge with the hood vent and they were able to fix the issue. Once again, another one of our appliances, this time our Samsung dryer that was still under warranty stopped working and Samsung sent out Yuri. I cringed when I saw it was him. I tried to explain what was happening, but he didn't even listen to me and spent less than a minute diagnosing the problem. Again...he was incredibly rude and pretentious. Stated that the vent was blocked, external from the dryer. So we had someone come out and climb up on our roof to see if the vent was blocked and it was NOT. Of course when I called Samsung back and stated that they dryer was still having an issue they were going to send Yuri back again, but I protested. I absolutely refuse to have that man back into our home. My only word of advice if you decide to do business with this company is...I told you so! read more

I called to ask a technical question before scheduling service and the guy wouldn't answer my simple yes/no question, and told me I'd probably just mess it up and they'd have to come fix it for even more money. The question was about a condensing dryer, which he told me "doesn't have a condenser". Yikes.. What a crock! Tech was rude and unfriendly. Kept saying to us we are better off getting a new washer without throughly looking at the problem. Had two issues- drum of washer did not spin (he fixed that but not without a rude attitude) and not draining in normal cycle (did not even want to diagnose this even though I kept saying and asking him to look to it. I really wanted this guy out if my house at that point.) Charged us $138 and invoice was weird, not itemized. Not worth calling again especially when there are better service providers with better customer service. Call Appliance ASAP instead. read more

It is true, he showed up on time, but that is about all that I can say positive about Northwest Appliance and Yuri. He charged our credit card, with no signature, for a down draft repair for $1,700. A brand new one would have been 900 plus installation. We would have never approved that charge. I agree with the other posts that he is incredibly rude. I just found out that he was the only authorized Broan repair service for many years, hence the bad attitude. But now there is a new one (I found out from Albert Lee today) that also services Broan. Be very, very careful with this company. They will significantly over-charge you if you don't know what you are doing, which we did not, until now. Buyer beware! read more

I had problems with my LG dishwasher so LG scheduled service for Thursday afternoon and emailed me Northwest's name and phone number. Tuesday I called Northwest, spoke with a guy and discussed what time I could get them here (so I wouldn't have to take too much time off work). I wasn't informed in advance that he wouldn't take a credit card, and when I asked for a written estimate for a permanent fix he refused, saying he doesn't give written estimates, and would not guarantee his work. The first impression of every company is their receptionist or the person who answers there phone. This company is in dire need of a new one! No customer service skills whatsoever. A service call was placed, no follow up, no phone call (although they say they called), no message, no email, nothing. I have used NW Home Appliance for LG Refigerator, LG Washer and Dryer and DCS Dishdrawers. I continue to call upon them because they have proven to extend the life of our appliances. Our first LG refrigerator lasted 11 years, way beyond what was expected given it included the electronics. The DCS Dishdrawers have needed repair twice, but are still up and running after 13+ years of daily use. I highly recommend the team. read more

I would give zero stars if I could. Yuri charged us almost $300 to clean the agitator in our washerand it didn't end up fixing the washer. We are still having debris come out into our clothes. My wife and I are not sure what could be the big difference between our experience and those of many others here, but gathered it could be something of a personality conflict, or a preconceived expectation of a "friendly Maytag's guy", or it could be as simple as a cultural difference. Whatever it is, for what it's worth, we have had excellent results so far. Yuri, has done a number of visits to our house now. The first service was through a warranty repair for our Samsung washer. I checked Yelp and almost called elsewhere, but given it was a warranty fix, I didn't want to spend my own money to call someone else. Yes, when he showed up, my wife said there was no small talk and he was very "reserved", but he definitely was never rude to her nor disrespectful. He was quick, direct and fixed the issue right away. While he was here, she asked him about our build-in microwave with a broken rotating plate that she has waited weeks for me to look at. He looked at it, said he could fix it, provided the quote, order the part, told her how long it might take, called back when the part was available, then promptly showed up as scheduled and fixed the issue. Our neighbor had an issue also with the same build-in microwave, so we told them about the service and "warned" them not to expect small talk about the "Seahawks, the weather, or his life story", and his no nonsense demeanor. Afterwards, my neighbor's wife told us exactly what we experienced, fast, direct, boring, respectful but issue fixed. This weekend our fridge had broken down, so I called Norrthwest again today, however, was somewhat hesitant afterwards since I decided to take a look here to see if there are new reviews. There were and they were mostly negative. But because of past 3 good experiences, I thought I just go for it and give it a shot again, especially since they were the only one that can be here before 11AM. Yuri showed up at 10AM, all business as before, came in, looked at the fridge, told me what was wrong, indicated he had the part, told me the price of the part and asked if I wanted it fixed. When he was done, I thought I just ask him if he knows how to replace an oven light which I couldn't figure out how to remove the cover; the worse he can do is say No, but he actually didn't have an issue at all and promptly showed me how to do it, and told me I should be able to find a cheap one at HomeDepot. As it happens with Murhphy's law while he was still in the house, we both heard a weird noise, which turned out to be the exhaust fan in my laundry room. I asked him again if he mind taking a look, which he did, showed me how to take it apart and said I should be able to get a replacement part fairly easily, or he can potentially see about ordering one for me. I'd figure it would be something easy, so I chose to do it myself later...he did all this with no additional time charge, or complaints. Overall, we have used other appliance repair services before this with comparable charges and mixed results, but his work so far has definitely been efficient, reliable and on-time, so we wouldn't care if he didn't say anything other than what is relevant--I always made sure that I asked the appropriate questions related to the work too. This business is truly the worst. I actually am leaving this review as the first one I've left in over a year, it is that important that people understand how terrible these guys are. Someone previous wrote maybe it was a "personality conflict" that explains all these terrible reviews. Nope. I made an appointment for a four hour window, and specifically requested they show up either at the very beginning or very end, as we would have to leave work to get to them. The receptionist was rude but agreed it could be accomodated. She told me if we didn't pick up on the first call, they would cancel our appointment and not come back. I received a call two hours into our window that he would be there in 15 minutes. I raced to my car and said i would be there in 30 minutes. He refused to wait and BERATED me for making an appointment that I couldn't keep. I asked if he could do his next appointment and then come to us, and he refused again. Why is it that they are allowed a 4 hour window, and I can't have 15 minutes to get home? I asked for him to call the front office and confirm that we had asked for more heads up or a very early/late window. He claimed they had received no such call and that it was my fault. Truly, even if their policy was that he could not wait, he could have politely told me so. These folks need a serious lesson in customer service. I feel bad for them - I don't know how they will possibly survive operating the way they are. read more

I had a great experience with NW Home Appliance. My Samsung washer door was failing to latch. Yuri showed up right on time after calling. He was polite, professional and incredibly efficient. He diagnosed the problem right away (a broken plastic latch), and fortunately had a replacement part in his van. He changed it out, explained what happened, showed me the broken part, wrote up my invoice and was on his way. I don't think the whole appointment took more than 20min. Yuri seemed to really know his stuff. I value speed, skill, and reliability. He checked the box on all three and I would recommend him to anyone. I find some of the negative reviews here regarding his friendliness just silly. He was in no way rude or disrespectful. I found him matter-of-fact, businesslike and trustworthy. I much prefer this approach to an unskilled "nice guy" who doesn't know what he's doing. Yuri is a pro who got my washer back to working in no time at all. read more

Seriously overcharged ($760 for a bake and broiler igniter), zero customer service (extremely rude & just walked right in my house without even saying who he was) and no communication skills whatsoever (literally yelling and arguing with me). I read the negative reviews but Capital, the manufacturers of my stove, said they "wouldn't use him if they had problems with him" and he is one of the few who will work on Capital. So I had him come out. HORRIBLE experience. Everyone of these negative reviews is right on. He actually left my house with my stove in non-working order so I wouldn't call anyone else to finish the job. I bought a Danby 18" DW as a present for my daughter. After about one month of use the soap dispenser stopped working. Danby apparently uses NW Home Appliance for their warranty work. Yuri, from NW Home Appliance came out, ran a cycle and told my son in law he would call back in an about an hour. The DW cycled in about 30 minutes so my daughter called Yuri from her work to update him on the status of the soap dispenser. Yuri seemed annoyed that she didn't follow his instructions and wait for his call to my son in law. He asked her if the dispenser worked this time. My daughter replied that it had worked last night and was about to tell Yuri that it did not work this time, but he cut her off mid sentence and said "I didn't ask you about last night. I asked you if it worked this time. My daughter told Yuri he seemed rude and unpleasant and she would prefer to have a different person come back to finish the repair. Yuri felt he was not being rude. When my daughter got to tell Yuri the soap dispenser didn't work this time, he informed her it was broken (DUH) and the replacement part would take about THREE WEEKS to show up. After waiting more than three to hear from NW Home Appliance, my daughter called Albert Lee where I bought the DW and they called NW Home Appliance. They were told the first part came but it would probably be another TEN DAYS before the second part arrived. When we decided to cut our losses, Albert Lee was very cool about taking the Danby back and working with us to get a different 18" DW. I'd like to be considered fair and objective and I know there are two sides to every story. Obviously this is our side. read more

We had Northwest Home Appliance come out twice for repairs. The first time was to fix our new freezer which wasn't making ice. I initially tried to troubleshoot with a technician from Liebherr, but that didn't work. Then our subcontractors looked at it, but they weren't able to fix it either. Finally Northwest Home Appliance came to the rescue and found and fixed the root of the problem. They also came to look at our broken dryer and though it was old and beyond repair, the technician gave me useful information to find a new dryer. I was impressed with his knowledge and professionalism. We highly recommended this company! read more

As a followup to my previous remarks. Our washing machine quit working again so I called Yuri and he came back this morning. I had replaced the hoses on the back of the machine with ones that have a built in shut off valve in case they start leaking. Seems this does not work with our machine and was trying to shut off the water supply. Anyway, Yuri help move the machine out and replaced the hoses with the proper ones at no charge. Washer works fine now and am very happy. I still think his charges are high but he knows what he is doing. read more

Well, as far as pricing goes, Northwest was up front about what my initial costs would be ($95 to come out and look), and told me that it included the first 40 minutes of labor. I called on a Tuesday to schedule a repair on our LG refrigerator; our model apparently has a defect where the lights don't always turn off when the door is closed, and the light section melted. They said they would arrive Wednesday, between 8:30-12 and arrived at 10:30. I, too, got Yuri, but really found him to be more terse and professional than rude. I asked what I should do to prepare the fridge, he told me, and the deed was done. He was prepared with parts, knew what was wrong and was in and out within the hour. Overall, I definitely recommend NW Home Appliance for LG products, especially if you can tell them ahead of time exactly what the problem is. Yuri came last week to check out our induction range. He was super punctual with an impressively organized truck. Sadly he wasn't packing a replacement cooktop in that gorgeous carryall. A week later he was back with a whole new cooktop and put it quickly and competently. I never take the time to write reviews, but the repair person today from this company was the most rude repair person I have ever met in my life. He gave me a quote for the job and when I asked if he would break it down so that we knew the cost for labor, parts, etc. he actually said "No, it's $375 for the job - take it or leave it!" He was completely rude to me, would not answer my questions, or look me in the eye. My husband showed up and the repair man proceeded to ignor me and only spoke with my husband - I feel like we may have been overcharged, and I would not use this company again! read more

Ok. So I do appreciate them coming out with very short notice (the service man, Yuri, arrived within hours of the call requesting help). I really do. But apparently it would be far too much for me to ask for the service person to be nice. WAY too much. Yuri was not happy when he arrived, was terse throughout the stay, bossed me around ("Move this" he barked when he saw my dish dryer in front of the ground fault outlet)... need I say more? My refrigerator full of food had been officially pronounced dead last night by a wonderful handyman named Paul. So this morning I stayed home to meet the first service man who was called and said he would be be here between 8:30 - 11, but he stood me up (AAA Appliance Repair). Not awesome. Despite all the frustration, I was thrilled to see Yuri. Unfortunately, the feeling was not mutual. The service has not been completed yet --- I am renting this home and he had to speak with the Owner to determine what they would like to do --- so if that happens, I am happy to review how that went down. I don't question Yuri's knowledge, I just think that if your job makes you that cranky, then it's time to move on. read more

Very poor customer service. Service appointment had to be scheduled when we were not home and nanny was there. We were told he would not bill and the cost of the evaluation was $95. I wasn't comfortable leaving a blank check but left one for that amount, expecting to talk to him about the cost of repairs by phone. He was rude to my nanny on the phone when calling to confirm. I called him back to explain the situation, saying we would pay the cost of repairs by credit card. He was very rude to me as he was saying he was not going to go to the appointment unless I gave him my credit card number up front. I spent several minutes arguing with him, explaining that we had left a check for $95 (he forgot to add the tax, which I offered in cash) and that he could call my husband when he knew the cost of the repairs for the CC number and approval. He was rude to the nanny again because we had laundry hampers in the laundry room, and made her move it rather than do it himself. When he didn't get my husband on the first try (we were working!), he threatened to leave without doing the repairs, but with the check. Finally, he charged us an extra $12 for using a credit card. The cost of repairing the pump was $420. In the end, he was punctual and the washer is fixed (which is why he got two stars), but if I hadn't been so desperate to get my laundry done, I would have cancelled and gotten someone else. I do not recommend him at all and will never use him again. read more

Tech was demeaning to my daughter-in-law, wouldn't listen to explanations of what the frig was doing, put her down for having the starter relay replaced and gave her phoney information on the old relay being good because if it was bad, the wiring harness wires would have been burned off. He charged $110 for knocking on the door, $40 more for putting his amp meter on the compressor wires and telling her the compressor was bad. His demeaning attitude towards my daughter left her crying. read more

I completely concur with the other reviewers. Yuri is the biggest jerk you'll ever encounter. He acts as if he is doing you a favor for which he charges a lot of money. I am stunned that people can maintain a business like this but apparently they do. I think it's probably because people depend on their home appliances so much that once it's fixed, you hope you'll never have to deal with them again. We belong to a contractor referral service and I have had the misfortune of dealing with Yuri twice. He is rude, he disliked my dog, my kids and seemed to be irritated to be doing the job. I will NEVER hire this man again. Ever. People like this do not deserve to be in business. read more
