Every time I've come for an oil change, they're done in under 15 minutes, which includes adding air to tires and most fluids. I've always felt safe and respected as a woman there. Last time I went was a Friday shortly before close and when I got home, I realized they had listed my coolant as low but didn't offer to tip it off since apparently it's an extra charge. But since we needed to drive to Missouri the next morning, I didn't want any chances with low coolant. I was annoyed but when I returned first thing Saturday morning and explained the situation, Rose was extremely apologetic (despite not being involved the day before) and immediately filled the coolant, explaining it was barely low and the indicator is a little over zealous. She was so understanding and helpful that it erased my anger and brought the review back to 5 stars. Note: I use auto lights and they turned them off. I noticed right away but it's something to always check after taking a car to dealers or jiffy lube etc. and return to automatic if you use that feature. read more

Overall a positive experience, gone are the days of the pushy upsell and if it's just an oil change you want this is a good option. It's usually done fairly quickly and the service is friendly. Also a quick online search will usually save you about $10, just search Jiffy Lube coupons and download the code. I wouldn't get some of the extras though because the prices are a lot higher than if you just did it yourself. Cabin air filter for example will only take you about 5 minutes to change yourself and prices here are 4x higher than buying it at one of the big auto parts stores (for this specific item). As far as anything but just a simple oil change, I'd take your car to a certified mechanic that has actually gone through school to be a mechanic and not here (because here it is on the job training). read more

This Jiffy Lube location is located at the busy intersection of Touhy and Harlem in Edison Park. It is easy to get to from the Kennedy and is the most convenient location for me in Park Ridge. I have been going here for years and I am pleased with the service. The staff here is very friendly. You pull your car behind the shop into the bay with the shortest wait and hand off your keys. There is a good sized waiting room with newspapers and magazines. There is an in-house broadcast on the TV which is not that great. Service takes around 20 minutes for a basic oil change and they recommend services and filters based on mileage. Prices are OK on air filters and top offs, but I usually go to a family friend for an more involved work. They vacuum the inside, clean the windows and dust off the seats. My mother-in-law took her car to get her oil changed and new tires on May 25th. Four days later, my son heard a strange rubbing noise coming from front left tire. I took the car back on the 30th and was told by Daniel the store manager that he had worked on the car himself and that the vehicle had a bad hub bad bearing. Took the car directly to my real mechanic Frank's on Irving pk by the H.I.P. Frank calls me back and told me nothing was wrong with the hub or bearing. Noise was actually being caused do to the lug nuts not being tightened properly. Picked up the car and no more noise, problem solved. People be very careful about who you let work on your car. If the wheel comes off, that could've caused a major accident or even could've been catastrophic! Oil change is the only thing I would let these people do. I've been coming here, on and off, for the past seven years. The service here is quick and professional. Oil changes are good but the last time I was here, I was told that my tires needed replacing because of dry rot. I was caught off guard, so I told them that I would look into it. I took the car to Discount Tires, where I had purchased the tires and they said that tires did not need replacing. Now that was 6 months ago and I'm still chugging along with these same tires. I needed an oil change but I have been babysitting my infant granddaughter. I called Jiffy Lube and spoke with the manager, Rosie. I explained that the baby was asleep but this was the only time I had to get my car serviced. She replied that this was no problem at all. I could climb in the back seat with the baby and my technician would drive the car in on the ramp. I stayed in the car while the work was done. Then the tech got back in my car and drove it off the ramp outside. Rosie came to my window a couple of times to see what I wanted to have done, and then to bring me the bill. I gave her my credit card and she took care of everything. She brought my card and receipt out to my window and I was on my way. I never had to leave the baby for a moment. I've been here several times for oil changes, with positive experiences. It's quick, and the staff are friendly. They will offer to replace your air filter, which may or may not be necessary. I think their charges on that service are reasonable, but its so easy to do I just replace it myself (and keep track of when i need to replace it). Tip: Google "jiffy lube Chicago coupon." You'll find a coupon online that they will honor.... easy way to save a few bucks. I've never used any of their other services (brakes, tire rotation, etc). They noticed on their screening checks that my power steering fluid was very low. They filled it up, and they offer free refills (or "top offs") within some reasonable period of time (30 days?). read more

2014 Honda - another expensive quote from dealer for oil/coolant/headlamp brought us here. Our kids recommended. Not only was it half the cost, half the wait, and twice the friendliness, we got a nice cup of fresh hot coffee. Waiting room is typical, a bit noisy with the garage next door, so next time I'll bring earplugs. There will be a next time since brakes are coming due. Can sit and wait/work for that too they say. We went at 8:30 on a Wednesday. Quite a few customers but still only waited 30 minutes. One more note - someone posted a photo that synthetic oil was $59. I've been needing this oil change for a while, and I was pretty hesitant about going to jiffy lube, because my last situation about over a month ago at another Jiffy lube location that was not so great. My poor, innocent, beautiful, eco, good for the environment, Toyota Prius was totally mistreated and they broke something, and blamed it all on the other location, but I actually found out they should never work on cars anyway. And they were wrong about blaming anyone . Seemed like they broke something and didn't know how to fix Their mistake, got caught up and blamed others for it. They used some kind of drill to remove a cap from my car ?! That was never supposed to happen. Anyway, good thing is that Rosie at this (Harlem) Location knows exactly what she's doing and runs a great team here . She fixed the issue and took care of me and gave me a free oil change because of the inconvenience, I didn't even ask for anything! she just knew and remembered me. That's pretty thoughtful of her. And how she keeps connected to her customers, even her team knew all about me. Almost like they were prepared and ready to help me right away. I'm so happy with this team. I went to get an oil change. They suggested new wipers which I agreed too. All good so far right? Wrong!! After I left I had some errands to run.. Apparently, when they checked the tire pressure they pulled the VALVE STEM OUT OF PLACE! I wound up with a flat..(luckily not on the expressway. I took the tire to a repair shop and had to have it replaced.. This was after Jiffy Lube said my tires were perfect! Also, they bent my wiper arm so bad that it was basically flying off the window and hitting my driver's side mirror!! Had to stop in a downpour to try to fix it!! Never again will I go here! Yep, it's an oil change place. It's not cheap and they try to up-sell you on everything but that's what they do. Waiting room is nice and everyone who works there is skirting the line between really friendly and overdoing it. I was pretty nervous with Covid, but the service was pretty quick which I was thankful for. A few weeks later, I brought the car to our family mechanic of 30 years to change a tire. I always have them check over the whole car just in case and they told me the oil needed to be changed. I explained how I just received one and they said it was empty. For record there is nothing wrong with my car, my oil just wasn't changed to begin with which makes sense since I was in there for about 5 minutes. If I could leave 0 stars I would. Taking my business elsewhere. I have been getting both of my cars oil changed here for over 10 years with no problem. I live two blocks away and get the oil changed at least three times a year for each car. Always were professional and courteous with clean lobby. My opinion and rating changed yesterday. I came in at 4:50 PM. Was greeted outside by an employee who said "we are closed". Now the door said 7AM-5PM (website as well, checked later). I asked him why not, there were other cars getting serviced. Manager who was taking out trash as I was being denied service said "We stop taking cars 20 minutes prior to closing" No where on the door nor the website does it state "no vehicles allowed 20 minutes prior to closing". The manager then said come back tomorrow at 9AM. NEVER again will I patronize this facility. If you are in need of an oil change, there is another facility a mile away. read more
