I called to inquire about becoming a new patient. Within the first 10 seconds of the phone call, I was met with condescension. Due to the tone in which I received and condescension I will not be going to the dentist. I had a simple question and couldn't even get an answered in a professional tone. This is rather disheartening as this is a dentist that is walkable from my home and would have been an ideal location had there been professionalism and care towards a new patient in a professional kind manner. read more

The staff are nice and my appointment went good, however customer service is horrific. I am not sure if they are understaffed, but getting a hold of a person is a nightmare. No one answers when you call or it goes straight to voicemail. In trying to pay my bill, there was little information on my options on the invoice or where to even send payment. The lack of an online pay option is very inconvienient as well. When I finally got a hold of someone, they gave me the address of where to send a check only for it to come back to me weeks later as undeliverable. I had to go in person and ask and they said "oh yeah we changed the address". Not only did they not care, but I was sent to collections because their staff are incompetent. When I suggested improvements to their process, they were dismissive and basically implied it was all my fault. Would never go here again. read more

Dr. Mulvaney and his team were so friendly and personable. I appreciated how they really took the time to listen to all of my concerns and explain things to me. I felt valued as a patient and could not have asked for a more comfortable experience at a dental office. Their top notch dental office is fairly new and I wish them continued success. As someone who hasn't had the best experiences with dentists, I have to say, this practice (Dr. Mulvaney and his ENTIRE staff) are truly amazing!! This practice not only goes above and beyond with their customer service but Dr. Mulvaney is truly such a magnificent dentist. Not only does he practice general dentistry but he's one of the best implant specialists in the state. If you can, I'd highly recommend looking at his credentials/accomplishments, amazing! If you are looking for quality work to be done, and not have to come back every few years to fix the same problems, Dr. Mulvaney and Northwestern Dental Group is the place to go. Thanks to the military, I am now terrified of dentists. It's been really difficult for me to find a dentist that I trust. A couple of weeks ago I fell, chipped my tooth and this location was phenomenal in attending me. All I can say, they make sure you feel no pain, you are comfortable and now starting the process of getting my teeth attended. It has always been a dream to get my teeth fixed. I explained my fears and they are working with me. Because my experience, I have my 4 yr old daughter scheduled to start to be seen at this location too. I know she will be in good hands. I am going through a lengthy implant process and everyone from the receptionists, assistants and the doctors couldn't be more accommodating. My dentist is Dr. Ullman, and he made sure I was comfortable through every procedure. I never felt any pain, even when he gave me the anesthetic. George is fantastic too! He makes you feel like you're his only patient. I would highly recommend this practice. read more

While on vacation last Summer, I had a crown fall out. I called my dentist of over 20+ years and learned that he retired and sold his practice to them. They were not very customer service oriented. They were having me sign authorization forms while still in the dental chair and pay for the services before they billed my insurance company. My temporary crown fell out within the first 1 1/2 days. They used more cement the 2nd attempt and the final crown was done well. I liked the young dentist they assigned to me, and the hygienist was very thorough. They overcharged me $500+ based on the insurance money they received and my wife had to keep calling their office to get a refund, which took over 3 months to get. I doubt I would have received the refund if my wife wasn't so persistent in following up with NWDG. When I went there this past January for a teeth cleaning, I learned the nice young dentist left their practice to pursue other opportunities. Introduced me to another new dentist. Now, I am trying to get them to transfer all my previous dental records which were left with their office to my new dentist, but they don't return phone calls or follow-up, as appropriate. All they forwarded were the 4 bit wings they took at my January appointment. It will probably just be easier to pay for a complete new set of x-rays at the new dentist then get them to help a customer (former). I miss my old dentist, great guy, very customer service oriented. read more

This dental office is amazing. I drove my daughter 2 hours to their office in Niles, IL. My daughter needs some major dental work and gets very anxious when going to the dentist. Dr. Ullmann took his time and explained everything and made her feel very comfortable. Well worth the 2 hour drive. Please anyone looking for a great dental office, this is the place! read more

I've been going to this Practice since December of 2013. Im going through a very lengthy implant process. As for myself, I dont handle dental pain very well. I had a horrible dentist growing up and he made me absolutely terrified of dentists, so I never went. Then my teeth started getting pulled, or they fell out. I researched many, many dentists. I chose Northwestern Dental and I'm SO glad I did! The Entire office, Receptionists, Assistants, everyone that works there is AMAZING! Dr. Mulvaney is amazing at explaining procedures and what he is doing. His assistant, George, Is my Favorite!! George has always been super, super amazing with me... I can be pretty hard to handle, as far as requests and other things, and He is always so great to me, for which I will be forever appreciative :) Elaine, the Care manager, Is amazing as well... I email her when I have a Minor or Major Freak out and she has ALWAYS managed to fit me in the same day, and answers emails immediately... The personal care you get here cant be beat. Im proud to say Im no longer afraid of the dentist, and thats due to the amazing care I get from Northwestern Dental! I would 1000% recommend them! The fact that I have so many dental issues, and unforseen problems that have come from my damaged mouth, and they certainly arent making any profit from me, says it all. Theyre stuck with me forever! read more

My dentist of many years retired and sold his practice to this group. He told me I had good teeth and gums and to continue going for cleaning twice a year. An appointment was set up with the new group. They didn't have my appointment on their calendar and never contacted me as I was told they would, but they did have my records. When I called to confirm, they did get me in at a different time. They didn't clean my teeth as expected. Instead they took full mouth x-rays and gave me an exam. They told me I needed "deep cleaning" and some dental work. My gums were in such pain from the prodding and poking of this exam that it took over a week for them to heal. In addition, I learned that the dentist who saw me was not who I thought I was seeing and when I asked, they had no credentials for that person, but that he'd been with them 4 months and everyone liked him. Although everyone was extremely polite and happy to give thorough explanation of what they thought was needed, my gut told me to get a second opinion and I'm glad I did. I went to someone people I knew personally recommended. I've since had my teeth cleaned, was reassured that my gums are fine and don't need any of what this practice was suggesting. The final straw was receiving an additional charge after paying the expected amount due to them. Though I've read reviews, I've never posted one before, but I felt a moral responsibility to post this one. read more
