Had a great time here. Place was super busy and 1 hr wait, but we quickly were able to grab 2 very comfy seats at the bar and ate there. Bartenders were really nice. I've never had a bad meal here. Really extensive menu. If you can't find something you like here your too picky! I'm not a gluten only guy, but they do have a full gluten free menu which has many options I've eaten. All excellent. And I don't know of another restaurant that has a better tomato bisque. My fav? Not Your Average Joe's is everything you can ask for in a restaurant. The staff is extremely friendly, and when you talk to them you can tell they enjoy the conversation. I remember we went there once and my stepdad was extremely hungry, so we told the lady and she gave us bread and some extras to dip with bread with. Not positive if she was the manager or not, but once again, extremely friendly people. The food is quite good as well, and when quarantine is over this is definitely one of the restaurants I'm going to visit again. Thank you for your great service, and for people wondering, I'm not paid to do this. This is genuinely a nice and friendly establishment that I believe needs more positive publicity. read more

Went during a busy hour and had great service just one thing our server a plumper blonde woman spoke extremely fast we could barely understand her and with that ended up not understanding what we were agreeing to such as more drinks or if we were all set etc. The food was amazing I love their bread and oil dip and we had their Caribbean tenders as a starter (6 boneless tenders for $12.99) a bit pricey for a small starter. I had their pesto pecan crusted salmon it was amazing with sweet potato purée and Brussels sprouts. Just the salmon portion was a tad small. The kids menu is insanely good my daughter got a whole 12 inch pizza pie for $7.99!!! Fast service as well. Will definitely be heading back. read more

Since moving back I've visited this restaurant twice and the second visit really highlighted some of the best qualities of the place. It is abundantly clear that the management really cares about their customer experience and is working hard to help their staff (who are all friendly and top of their game) provide top notch service. I highly recommend this place to anyone in the Warwick area, especially if you're looking for one of those places that has a meal option for almost everyone. Seating was fairly prompt. That's where it ended. My son, daughter and niece were all having a small family get together since my son, an active duty Soldier just back from Afghanistan and now stationed in Alaska, was asked for his ID. He had his active duty DoD ID card (acceptable to fly international for TSA and as a passport), an Alaskan DL( meets federal flying standards) and they still wouldn't accept it. He's 24 years old. He had a RI address on his Alaska license which is what they do if you're active duty stationed there. We all left, in disgust, without ordering never to return because of the ineptness of the staff and management. read more

Visited Not Your Average Joe's for the first time this past week and was pleasantly surprised. I never have high hopes for a chain but I sat at the bar and was greeted by Jamie who made me the most delicious cosmo I think I've ever had. She was so bubbly and had the best energy. Very quick to recommend a couple dishes after I mentioned I hadn't been in before and then brought over this incredible bread and olive oil dip that she said they're known for (I can see why!). The Waldorf salad was good, the chicken on top was hot which I loved, and it came out quickly for it being busy (she mentioned they were going into their busy season). Staff were all friendly and attentive, you can tell they're a good team. It was refreshing to see their playful interactions with each other! Before Covid, You were the greatest! Since, you have gone through some changes but have lost your pazzazz! I can't think of an atmosphere more inviting, however, the food quality has gone down far more than a notch. I ordered a simple hamburger and besides falling apart it was far less than average, I hate to say Mcdonald's and Burger King offer more "taste" (pazzazz) for the buck. When I asked the others with me, I received less than average feedback. What was all the "Salt" doing in the Ahi-Tuna Poke especially considering the customer was seeking a heart-healthy meal? As for the tomato soup, my partner couldn't finish after her first spoonful!! I truly regret that we have scratched you off our list... I love the space you have created, but the food does not match its elegance. I learned another lesson as a customer: don't knock a place down right away if the last rating was not great but also not bad. Here's why. I gave this spot another shot at lunch and I have to say, I was gushing about the entire experience the second time . Not sure if this has anything to do with me going there by my lonesome for lunch, after an intense morning workout. Being extra hungry, I paid more attention to everything and like a universe responding, everyone seemed to pay more attention back to me. The difference? The food and outstanding service. I had a really great server named Kerry, who that day was working with a member of management, Tyrone, whom I assume, is doing an on site training/check. Together, they made me experience great customer service. Kerry is naturally funny, entertaining, very personable and did not come off as "fake"; I felt that she was really there to make sure customers have a wonderful experience. I noted this because I observed the same qualities shine when she was taking care of other tables. Kerry pulled no punches making lunch recommendations to me. Telling me honestly which ones I can skip over on this visit, and which ones she believes will be stand outs. Of course, she asked first the type of food I fancy and what I was in the mood for. I can tell she was not there to "upsell" me. She offered attractive suggestions. I ended up ordering the mustard-crusted-chicken BLT, with a side salad of almond-crusted goat cheese...mmm, mmm, terrific! I also ordered the chicken pot stickers as appetizers, and was served with that wonderful NYAJ bread in that scrumptious parmesan-garlic-pepper flake-olive oil dip. I must say, having a chance to indulge in that bread again was worth the trip back. So on to the chicken. It was moist and perfectly done. Oh and one doesn't normally get this fancy salad as a side dish. I enjoyed the dumplings. However, since there were only 5 pieces and they were served sitting on that soy-citrus sauce, I couldn't separate the taste of the chicken and the sauce anymore. The dumpling was drenched. It would perhaps be better to either reduce the sauce or serve it separately. This, I shared with Kerry as a casual suggestion. However, when I received my bill, she told me that Tyrone had taken note of my feedback and wrote it off. I was pleasantly surprised and impressed with this gesture. I also like the fact that on this trip, they gave me this little feedback app with my check, that I could answer in that sitting. This is good because the experience was fresh and I was able to write what I thought with clarity. I just hope this happens all the time, with every customer. Consistency is key. I left that day with a brown bag of half of everything I ordered because I thought the servings were generous. I was pleasantly full, not just with the food, the service, but the overall experience. Eh. The food here is just okay. Their complimentary bread and parmesan garlic olive oil is really delicious. That's definitely the best part of the meal. We tried the chicken lettuce wraps as an appetizer and they were pretty good. Our main courses were not great, however. I had the Harvest Mac n Cheese which just seemed like a bowl of noodles in cream. The cavatappi pasta was accompanied with butternut squash and spinach. The sauce was not cohesive and the flavors overall did not really come together very well. My boyfriend had a burger that he said was decent, but that you could get a better burger at even Applebee's. Overall I think this restaurant has good intentions and interesting menu ideas, but they just aren't able to execute making the dishes stand up to their descriptions. We went here after visiting Jordan's. We love the Seekonk location, but we couldn't justify driving to Seekonk when the Warwick location was in the same parking lot. Overall we had a fine experience here, but it wasn't as good as the Seekonk location. There are fewer beers on tap. The bar seats are comfortable, but the bar itself is not very inviting. The bartender was not very friendly and at times seemed like she didn't want to be bothered wtih us. She gave me a little bit of a hard time because i wanted the balsamic glazed salmon, which is a kids menu item and an entree item on NYAJ's hidden menu. Food quality was fine. I asked for garlic mashed potatoes with my entree, but I got roasted potatoes instead (which weren't very good). The bartender apologized and offered to bring me mashed potatoes after she realized the kitchen had gotten the order wrong, but by that time i was already done with my entree. I doubt we will be back. It takes just as much time for us to go to the Seekonk location as the Warwick location, and the Seekonk location has a lot more to offer. read more

I am no longer a fan of this chain. It pains me to say this because in the past we would drive pretty far because their food was that good. We would go to Watertown, Acton or Dartmouth and our meals were always consistently flavourful. I was very excited a few years ago when the Seekonk location opened but was very disappointed with the changes to the menu. When the Warwick location opened we had no intention of trying it again, until a friend chose it for her birthday celebration. We reluctantly gave Joe's another chance and unfortunately were let down again. The service was good, our dissatisfaction is based solely on the food. The husband and I chose to split an appetizer and a pizza and everyone else chose individual entrees. We had the caribbean buffalo chicken strips which used to be amazing, they were just OK. We chose the Santa Fe pizza which from the description sounded good and full of bold flavors, but in reality was very bland. It really didn't taste like anything except dough and a hint of corn. I can't speak for the others in our party but no one was raving about their meals either. I find that their prices are way too steep for the quality of food they now serve. I've had no problem in the past paying $15 for their grilled meatloaf because it was the best damn meatloaf I ever had! But for 2 beers, an appetizer, and a pizza it cost us over $60, we could have gotten much better food elsewhere for less. With so many other options in the RI dining scene we won't be wasting anymore time or money at this establishment. What happened to you Not Your Average Joe's? You used to be cool. read more

Average Joe's would be a more appropriate name for this place. I don't mean that as an insult in the slightest. With a name like "Not Your Average Joe's" expectations are immediately set pretty high, so get ready to deliver on that! The restaurant is gorgeous. I will absolutely give it that. It is very light and airy, and when the warmer weather beckons it seems as though there will be outside dining options. Granted, these overlook the parking lot...at the Warwick Mall. I guess not really the scenic atmosphere I would personally enjoy, but hey, they tried. Once seated, the servers bring what I'd argue is the best part of the meal: the bread. I have no idea what kind of sorcery was involved in the development and baking of said gluten-y deliciousness, but I'd imagine some deal with a dude named "Lucifer" was made. The menu options are incredibly varied, which made it kind of difficult to figure out what NYAJ's is going for in terms of a "niche". Or maybe they are following the "Cheesecake Factory Model" as I call it, where you offer everything you can think of and hope to please most. Either way, it's not often I find myself debating whether I should get a salad or a pizza or macaroni and cheese. I did end up going with the mac. Interestingly combined with butternut squash among other ingredients, it was surprisingly tasty, but decadent. Plan on sharing this dish! A little suggestion to the owners: if on your beer menu you note "other craft brews available" and that we should "ask our server", please plan on actually having other craft brews. And no, I don't consider Sam Adams as a viable option. Overall, this isn't a bad place at all. And, if nothing else, was a welcomed change from the monotony that has become the Route 2 dining options. I guess I'm just not sold on what is "Not Average" about this place. read more

While the Food and Drink was good, Service - well as you will see - Watch your credit card Statements! I travel a lot for work, so I dine alone, and I am the dreaded "table for one" although I do say "its just me" having said that, knowing this place was popular - I made a reservation via Open table When I got there although the place had plenty of empty tables, I got the question every single Diner hates "Do you want sit at the bar?" - Do you think I would have made a reservation if I wanted to sit at the bar? - anyway I can't fault them too much for this, they are by no means the only place that does this, but it doesn't set the right tone. Food and Drink were very good, I cannot complain on that and everything was indeed freshly prepared, however the service was a little slow, especially when it came to taking my order and refilling my ice tea, but not horrible. So when I came to settle my check, I tipped 15%. Clearly the waitress felt that was not enough, as I got my Credit card statement, and she decided to 'upgrade' the tip to 23%. I am filing a dispute with my credit card company, I will admit its small amount we are talking about but its the principle, the whole thing has left a bad taste in my mouth You can serve the best food in the world, but it means nothing if the service is not only not there, but clearly the staff have a better opinion of how they are doing then you do. Not only will I not return, I will be sure to check with my co-workers who had also dined here to check their statements as well. UPDATE 5-1-2014 - To their Credit - The General Manager - Michelle - did follow up with me very quickly in regards to the review and my being overcharged on the Tip - they did a full investigation and came back with their findings - I think the politest thing I can say is we will have to "agree to disagree" on what they discovered. "So sorry about that." It's what we got. The service was not even close to average. 13 people including us dining in, 9 people between hostesses and waiters roaming the floor and bar area. Yet it took 10 minutes to meet the waiter. Outside of that, everything went fine up until our food was left with us. The waiter became invisible for the next near 30 minutes. So I asked a hostess if the waiter gave up on us because we've been waiting for the check. More than five minutes later he shows up, and "So sorry about that. We were having a bartender issue." A what? You mean the waiter I spotted numerous times aimlessly roaming the floor, stopping to chat with his coworkers? Yeah, that guy. The disinterest in paying better attention to the customers was ridiculous and "So sorry about that" is all we got. Oh, and I got a pretty good burger for a meal but... don't do this to yourself, good food and better service should be what every restaurant is about. Here, yeah.... not going back. I really, really wanted to like this one...but sorry no. I guess the only NYAJ's around here worth going to is the one in Dartmouth. So let me tell you about my visit. I went with my boyfriend and we both ordered a burger. He got a bacon burger and I got the sweet bacon blue or whatever it's called. They basically turned the California bacon blue pizza--which is not on their menu--into a burger. The waitress was very nice...but that didn't save this restaurant from a bad review. BOTH our burgers were very under-cooked. We asked for medium well. His burger was a little bit pink on the inside, but edible. Mine however was very pink all the way through and I just couldn't eat it. I sent it back and they ended up not charging me for the meal. They replaced it, but the replacement burger was RAW!!! It was literally seared on the outside and raw and GOOEY in the middle!!! I had her box it and I will end up COOKING it at home. Sad that I have to take my food home to COOK it. Sorry but 3 undercooked burgers is a problem for me. I'll stick with Dartmouth thanks. read more

Got them home and BOTH lacked the "B". Called to let the restaurant know. Was transferred by Kelly to Paige who told me she couldnt do anything ( not sure why they transferred me to her then ) and then to manager Mike. Mike curtly said they would take it off my bill. We had a great, relaxing meal with kids and adults. Drinks were tasty and the food was yummy. The only problem we had was the check out too a little longer than the kids would like. I knew they just opened and I live close by, so I decided to check them out. I heard from a friend to make a reservation in advance, and thank god I did. The place was packed! Despite it being so busy, we were waited on very quickly. They start off with bread which is beyond amazing. Also, it just so happened it was 'Winesday Wednesday' so we got two entrees and a bottle of wine for $39. I ordered the balsamic glazed salmon and my date ordered the sirloin tips (which was a hefty 12 oz!) Both served quick and cooked perfectly as requested. Our waitress Anastasia was phenomenal. I don't know if management is checking their yelp reviews, but if so, you need to know what a gem you have in her! So finally: I recommend this restaurant if you're looking for a place to eat above the typical Chilis, Fridays, etc. but don't want to be fancy. I recently dined here this weekend on Saturday night. My wife and I were in town for a wedding staying across the street at the NYLO hotel. The hotel recommended them even though their reviews on numerous sites said otherwise.. I SHOULD HAVE STAYED AWAY! And SO should YOU! Lets start off with the good... The interior of the restaurant is very wide open, beautiful and classy. The kitchen is wide open, also very beautiful. Its a plus to be able to see every kitchen worker cooking your food. We had a good seat as we were sat very close to the kitchen and pizza oven! They let you take a walk by and see the Servers cutting the fresh baked bread. It's rather intriguing! Unfortunately, this is all the good I have to say about this place. Our server was Nick P. Started off really friendly and personable! Then we had to ask for the Bread that everyone was raving about, yet every other table was started off that way? After we asked, we still had to wait until our meals came and the food runner had to bring it to us.. Annoying, yes? It gets better. Our server decides to show us a "Magic trick with cards" and Promoted where he also works at a club called the Callosium? I came to dinner with my wife to be together and enjoy the time we had together, away from our kids, away from our hectic life. Instead, we got a very annoying server showing us card tricks, once he was done with us, he moved on to the next table. We had to listen to him show the same tricks to the tables around us multiple times. ANNOYING. When we weren't listening to magic tricks, we got to listen to a blonde curly haired waitress complain and moan about how "This isnt happy hour people, get the 'f*ck' up! You've been sitting here long enough!!!!!" I dont think i need to explain about why this bothered us.... BUT DONT WORRY, It gets better. The kitchen staff also decided to join in on the bickering. Joe, you remind me of *CrAzY~* vanilla ice cream, lure us in with your promises of something different and beautiful exteriors then bam! First bite, oh, right.... It's vanilla. So the bread, I like the spruced up dipping sauce (evoo, Parmesan, red pepper flakes) but as someone born and braised on proper Italian bread, this just wasn't my thing. Had some to have the alioi, but that was the end of that. The menu is like Cheesecake Factory type of schizophrenic, any cuisine you may want (save for Ethiopian and possibly polish) there is probably a representation for it. Had the apps been a bit more reasonable in price I think my mom and I would have gone about splitting a couple of those which looked so much better coming to the table around us then the entrees. I got the feta turkey burger, and when it came out about 40 minutes later... It was pink. First bite, practically raw. Frantic my mom made some random server take it away. Our waitress and the manager both came over like I was blowing something out of proportion. I'm sorry, poultry must be cooked thoroughly and I'm traveling for work this week so I cannot risk food borne illness. Another burger that was thinner and cooked all the way through was sheepishly brought out by a line cook who they then made apologize for the first burger. Not a huge deal, I just wanted it cooked properly. I loved the Mediterranean salad that came with the burger, make that a full size option on the menu! The fully cooked burger was kind of lacking in flavor, some oregano or other Greek inspired spices could have remedied that. My mom got the tomato mozzarella and chicken sandwich. She liked it but said the standout of her meal happened to be the fries (which as I snuck a few waiting for my new burger- yum yum kids, super crispy and brown, no batter/coating and sea salt) The restaurant itself is absolutely gorgeous, as we sat outside the whole time my mom and I kept exchanging "it's such a shame this is behind the Warwick mall". Also, while the sewage treatment plant is still technically defunct after the flooding of 2010, when the wind turns a certain way the unmistakeable scent will waft over, so keep that in mind on hot days. read more

Well done salmon came out raw, caesar salad had mostly bitter core luttuce and very little green, green beans "sauteed w/ garlic and seasoned" tasted like nothing, mashed garlic potatoes were dry and pasty, portion of steak tips was meager for $18, chowder lacked substance. Hilight of the meal was the free bread and the side of fries, both excellent. Service, while efficient, seemed apathetic. No manager came by to check on us after there was a problem, server never asked. $63 after tax/tip - there are much better and less expensive options in the area - fell ripped off honestly. Hostess was very nice, saved you from 1 star, but honestly 90% of the staff looked miserable. Bad vibe/atmosphere. This place is out of the rotation for the forseeable future. read more
