I love the Red Velvet and Raspberry Lemon, it's their best flavors in my opinion. I like the convenience of ordering online, but they do charge a small service fee. You can use the deals in-person and online. Customer service is always on point. Everyone is always welcoming and polite. It was the day before Father's Day, so it was a little busy. They are closed on Father's Day, which I had no idea until I walked up to their sign on the door. It's always nice and clean inside. I made the trek into town and got a front row spot. There was a customer ahead of me, which I didn't mind as it gave me time to look over what they had to offer. Another employee popped her head out to help, but I told her I wasn't ready. She slipped away and came back just in time to take my order. I asked her recommendation of the s'mores vs chocolate chocolate chip. She said hands down a s'mores, so that is what I got. The shop was so cute and the perfect size. I've a long time fan from when they first opened in CA while I lived there. I love a good cake and the quality of theirwork is yummy. I was so happy when I moved here to Albuquerque to discover there is a bakery here (in the same strip as Whole Foods on Wyoming). There is a nice variety of flavors and sizes, and considering the amount of work that goes into making the cakes, I didn't find it too pricey. I went in on my birthday and was given a free small bundt, which was a perfect snack. In all of the bakeries I have visited, the staff have always been nice and accommodating, making sure I get everything I need. This is not the first time I have been disappointed with their delivery service and times. You pay a $25 fee for delivery and current choice time for delivery and this store doesn't deliver on time. Premises were sparkling clean, welcoming in a lemony yellow color, and spacious feeling, in spite of a pretty small footprint. Manager was likewise welcoming and friendly. The other lady manning the counter was taking courteous and friendly care of the other customers. A solid 10 out of 5 stars for service at this little vendor of cakes & sunshine. I hate it when my sister-in-law is right. When we lived in Austin, she went on and on about these little Bundt cakes that were the greatest thing. Fast forward, I move to Albuquerque. A coworker and I totally forgot that two of our work buddies share the same birthday and that celebrating it could only be done on Friday. We realized this at 5:15pm on Thursday. Most of the regular bakeries nearby were already closed. I happened to remember seeing this shop as I left Home Goods one day, and the rave reviews my sister-in-law has given. So, in a panic I call. A very sweet gal assures me that if I get to the shop before 6pm, she will have it decorated and wrapped up for me. I got there at 5:45pm. I loved how the cake was displayed, on the tray and wrapped in cellophane! So much easier to carry! The next day, I took the cake to work. No one had ever tried this shop. Every person who had a slice loved it! It was super moist, the icing was amazing and the flavor rich. As a test run I purchased two of the small cakes, a lemon/raspberry and a pecan praline. The lemon one was for me. I told my husband the praline one was for him, but he had just two days or it was public property! All three flavors I tried were outstanding. This has been my pregnancy craving for about 3 months now! The lemon cake is moist and sweet without being overpowering! I love LOVE the fact that they have mini bundt cakes, so I can buy one and not feel so guilty about eating it all! Overall this is my favorite place for food. Cakes are very good just make sure you check your bag before you leave, I ordered and paid for a Reese's Peanut Butter bundlet for a friend of mine. When I got home I looked in the bag and noticed they gave me a Chocolate chocolate chip. I called to see if maybe they may have used a different seal for the Reese's and was told "oh no..they are right next to eachother so they gave you the wrong one" no apology no bring it back and we will make it right nothing..while their cakes are good their customer service sucks. I will never go to this business again. I went this past week to use 4 gift cards we received and to purchase additional cakes and gift wrap them for teachers gifts for my children's teachers. However, I was told I was unable to use the cards all at once and only once per visit. I proceeded to tell the cashier it was not specified on the cards and if I can use them as teachers gifts. The cashier replied in a very condescending manner, " looks like you are going have to rethink your gifts ideas." I found that to be very rude. I was purchasing additional cakes and asking for gift wrap I was still providing business and purchasing items. I left the shop in tears and threw away my gift cards I will never go back. I decided to give NBC a second chance after last time's little fiasco. They were the only ones in town that I could find that could make a "bee" cake like this one, and the touch of sunflowers the perfect tone for an August birthday (my mom's). There were several different flavors to choose from (red velvet, carrot, blueberry, lemon, pecan, etc. to choose from, but I settled on the white chocolate raspberry after reading several facebook posts about the lemon and the white chocolate raspberry were mentioned the most times. I ordered about a month ahead of time and called two days before pick-up to confirm that the cake would be ready at the time that I had ordered it for. The gal seemed nice on the phone. I had sent my dad to pick up the cake and after almost going to a different cake shop, the process was smooth with only a few other people in the shop. I wanted so much to be able to write an excellent review. Unfortunately, the delivery service dropped off my order to the recipient at the front door, in 91 degree weather without knocking or ringing the doorbell. Nothing Bundt Cakes states that someone must be present, but how would they know that the homeowners were there if they didn't knock or ring the bell? The icing was melted and because it wasn't known how long the delivery was in the sun, and because eggs and dairy were ingredients the cake had to be thrown out so as not to risk getting sick. The local store agreed this shouldn't have happened and said they would look into it. They didn't. I reached out to Corporate, selected the 'reach out to me' option ... and they didn't. Bundt Cakes certainly MIGHT make a great cake (we'll never know) ... but I can say with upmost confidence, Nothing Bundt Cakes doesn't care about it's customer one iota.
