Clean and delicious smelling store upon entry. Man working the day we visited was very nice and welcoming. We ordered 4 regular size cupcakes and their sampler box. It would've been nice if there was a handout or note that says what the flavors were inside the sample box. Once at home, we were just guessing or didn't know at all after sampling. Most of the icings are way too sweet for any of our liking. Some of the actual cakes did taste pretty good. Not impressive, but good enough. Surprisingly liked their chocolate flavors the most. Alberto waited on us and was so pleasant and we just couldn't resist. we got 6. (2 a piece) and 3 of his cookies. Moist and delicious but the frosting was not so good. the sundae cupcake was terrible. I didn't know what to expect when my boyfriend brought this box home, which contained six cupcakes. I have had just a small selection of cupcakes from different cupcake shops. The one that takes the cake is called Sift, A Cupcakery and is located in Santa Rosa, CA. Unfortunately, each shop must compete against Sift, which was a winner on Food Network's Cupcake Wars. Ever since I had Sift's cupcakes, I have continued to see imitations sold at other cupcake stores. Small cakes appears to offer a variety of cupcakes. I tried the lemon cupcake and the Reese's peanut butter cupcake. Both were very fresh and perfectly moist. I am a fan of dark chocolate and creamy frosting. The Reese's cupcake had your run-of-the mill chocolate cake, and a creamy buttercream frosting. The thing that tasted most like Reese's was actually the Reese's candy that was crumbled on top of the cake. It was decent, but I have had more flavorful Reese's cupcakes. I preferred the lemon cupcake. It had lemon buttercream frosting. The two flavors married together make one delicious frosting. Vanilla cake compliments it and gives the pallet a rest... just in time for the lemon filling to blast the flavor in your mouth. Overall, I could tell there was a lot that went into the presentation of the cupcakes, and they were very professional. However, it may be worth it to tweak the flavors and make them a little stronger. However, I understand that some people (my boyfriend) do not appreciate strong flavors. read more

I don't know if this establishment has hired a new cake decorator within the last year, but the quality has gone extremely downhill. For context, I purchased a cake last year and it came out absolutely gorgeous. When my birthday came around again this year, I placed my order once again for a custom cake. I ordered it about three weeks in advance, and it's a rather small cake (feeds 4-8 people). It was supposed to be a white cake, with red piping and decorations. What I received was a white cake with icing holes (don't know how else to describe it honestly), nearly no red piping, and the cake itself isn't even level. While at the bakery, I asked the staff to please add more piping, as I was essentially staring at a white cake. Once the cake was returned to me, I was met with extremely uneven red piping around the cake. I'd paid in advance and my birthday was the next day, so I really had no option but to accept what was given to me. I have no idea why the cake itself is so tall and skinny (or lopsided), or why the staff stated they could add more piping only to hand me the most uneven piping I've ever seen. I wouldn't suggest ordering a custom cake from here going forward. read more
