Bundt cake in a movie scene ...the cake icing design looks familiar.
    Elizabeth W.

I was watching Downton Abbey:A New Era...and I saw a fleeting but memorable bundt cake on a cake platter during a wedding reception scene. So imagine my surprise, when I decided to visit the newly open location having never visited this franchise ever. Imagine my surprise to see bundt cakes iced in the same design as the movie!! They are charming and totally irresistible especially the cute bundtlets ($6.50 each). They are like a big muffin butt baked in a bundt mold. I took home the lemon bundtlet. My mom liked it so much, fluffy with a clear mildly tart lemon flavor. I went back the next day to try the pumpkin spice. Light and fluffy goodness. The icing is sweet, but happily the buntlet isn't swimming in frosting..its the perfect design, therefore the right amount of sweet. And you can brush it off if it's too much. I don't know if this is a classic design, but it was the same icing design as the movie...which is set in the late 1920s, 1930s. They can also do gluten free. And the 8 inch bundts serve 8 to 10. All the larger cakes have a charming fun flower confetti covering the hole in the middle. Comical pretty ... I don't believe they are eatable. So far I've tried two flavors...looking forward to trying the other flavors. Makes a cute and yummy takeaway party favor. Which is what I'm thinking to do next month for an 88th bday party. Helpful staff. Support this new small business tucked in a far corner near the CVS and Office Depot on Via Campo.

These little things are so good, they are addicting. They are a little expensive, but worth it. I had to buy a dozen of the minis, and of course I liked the specialty ones which bumped up the price. They were about $40, but worth it. I shared a couple of them. The carrot cake is my favorite. I can't wait to go back. The service was great, as this was my first time ( my sisters always bring them to the parties). The Montebello location is brand new and there is a new one in Whittier as well.

This place recently opened near CVS and the US Post Office. It is a small and clean store. Service was nice. I got the mini Bundt cakes with pumpkin spice and strawberries & cream flavors at $6.50 each. They were soft and tasty but very, very sweet with the white frosting. They also sell larger cakes. Other flavors include: chocolate chocolate chip, lemon, red velvet, white chocolate raspberry, carrot, confetti, cookies & cream, and chocolate chip cookie.

Found this place on Instagram, so we drove down from Pasadena...and it was well worth the drive…read more The store is super cute inside with a fun seating area. I wished we had arrived earlier to be able to enjoy more of the sold out offerings, but next time we'll arrive right when they open. We ordered a dozen crinkle cookies for a Mother's Day lunch - enjoying the sweet ube and the spiced thai tea versions. Both were great compliments to each other - more perfectly sweet and the other a bit more herbal. The chocolate chip cookie was perfect - nice crunchy edges and slightly gooey soft inside. The ube tres leches was a little disappointing as there wasn't any tres leches cake at the bottom, just crumbly graham crackers resting below exquisite ube mousse. It could have been mislabeled, but it was essentially just ube mousse with crumbly graham crackers for texture. The staff were friendly and the store is so fun!

We visited Butter Lab for the first time on 05/10/2026 in the late morning hours…read more The person helping us out at the counter, on this somewhat busy morning, kept the flow running nice and smooth (and he was friendly) So, we tried a few things during this visit. Two items for immediate consumption and then some cookies for later. We purchased a dozen of the regular size cookies, including both Ube and Thai Tea. Both of them were excellent, and I felt they were priced appropriately at a dozen for $18. The Thai Tea seriously tasted like you were truly drinking a thai tea. We also shared one large classic chocolate chip cookies (so yummy!) The only thing we didn't understand is that we shared a Ube Tres Leches. I am not sure what was going on. Don't get me wrong, what we ate was very good; however, it was 100% not Tres Leches. It was an Ube Cream with some graham cracker crumble underneath. So, my assumption is that they must have just given us the wrong item. I would love to try the Tres Leches again in the future. Please support his lovely local business. It was a real treat!

This was my first time having a cannoli and it had a soft shell and was filled with plenty of thick a bit citrusy cream and crunchy chocolate chips. Eh. The cake slice was MASSIVE and had layers of fluffy, delicate, not dry white and chocolate cake, a thin layer of silky custard, plenty of not too sweet whipped creamy icing, fresh strawberries and bananas that added a nice fruity pop and was surrounded by some roasty toasty crunchy almonds. The snoopy sugary cookie was SUPER CUTE, had a yummy, fun, not too sweet, crunchy icing and buttery not dry cookie. Lowkey obviously my fave thing. Overall this place is pretty good. I placed an order for a cake last week for my father-in-law while he was visiting from out of town…read more This bakery has always been his favorite bakery, and he has enjoyed their cakes for many years while living in Montebello. When I called to place the order, I was directed to submit it online. I completed the online order and received a text confirmation stating that I would receive a response within two days. After two days passed with no response, I called to follow up and was told that someone would be contacting me regarding my order. Another two days passed without any communication, so I called again to check on the status. At that point, I was informed that my order had never actually been placed because a deposit was required. However, I was never informed of any deposit requirement during the ordering process or in any of the communications I received. I was then told that, unfortunately, the bakery would not be able to make the custom cake. I explained the entire situation and shared how much this cake meant to my father-in-law, as this bakery has been a special place for him over the years. Despite explaining the circumstances, no effort was made to find a solution. As a business owner myself, I understand that mistakes can happen. However, I also believe in doing everything possible to make things right for customers when issues arise. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here. Due to the lack of communication, misinformation, and poor customer service, I will not be ordering from this bakery again and cannot recommend it to others.
