Sometimes you just want a good decadent slice of cake, and Brioche is the perfect place for that. Their cookies and cream is a stand out but their berry chantilly is also good. Additionally, their lattes are really good. I'm not sure what it is. Maybe it's the beans or the ratio of milk but I find this to be one of the best in Montebello. Overall, an easy place for me to recommend as an easy no frills no fuss dessert bakery. read more

We grabbed a few of their cakes to try and they were pretty good. I can't say much of their custom order whole cakes, I haven't tried them. Berry Chantilly- berry chiffon cake, really good. My favorite out of all the things we grabbed. Cake was spongy and moist. Layer between had cream mixed with different berries. Tres Leche- perfectly moist but not too wet. Wasn't too sweet either! Tiramisu- strong coffee, moist but not too wet as well. Bread Pudding- wasn't the texture I prefer, not my favorite. Really dense and not much flavor. read more

I'm SO glad I live by a bakery that makes the most tasty cakes!! I've had german chocolate, grandma's chocolate, red velvet, tiramisu, chantilly berry, the vanilla one with chocolate icing on top that I cant remember the name of , and the top tierr fruit tarts. They're all so dang delicious- I always get excited on the way to Brioche, and am in an even better mood while eating their pastries. Can't wait to try more :) Also, the baker/owner(?) is so kind and friendly! It's always a very welcoming atmosphere- HIGHLY reccomend! read more

Almost want to not write a review so I can keep this bakery to myself. Definitely a hidden treasure located in Montebello. I've been by several times, and I have always left feeling very happy with the dessert items I've been able to purchase. I've had Brioche Pastries on my radar for awhile and when my friend and I were actually in the area, I decided to stop by to see if they had any baked goods to alleviate my sweet tooth. They're a small mom-and-pop shop; I think I discovered them during the pandemic, so it's great to see them still thriving! One of my favorite items from here is the chocolate chip cookies. They're humongous! And if you get them fresh out of the oven, even better. Love that the outside is crunchy but the inside is gooey and super soft! I've also tried their raspberry Linzer cookie, which I also really enjoyed. Not too sweet, just the right amount of tanginess. As for the cakes, I've tried both the tiramisu and the raspberry chocolate cake. Surprisingly, my friend and I were both wowed by the raspberry cake. It wasn't heavy at all and didn't taste overly chocolate-y. There was a delicate balance between the chocolate and the raspberry that made me want to keep eating more. The tiramisu was also a delight. Not too sweet, could taste a slight bit of rum - would order these cake slices again. I think I've gotten cupcakes and macarons from here before, too. And while they weren't super memorable, they were always tasty. Workers are super friendly and helpful. The bakery is located on Whittier Blvd and comes up fast if you're not looking out for it. Usually do street parking since I pop in and leave within a few minutes. tl;dr - must visit for sweet tooths! I pretty much loved everything that I've tried from Brioche. read more

I ordered several individual slices of cake for my wife's birthday -- including carrot, chantilly berry, German chocolate, and red velvet, just to name a few. The customer service was excellent, and every single cake was delicious! Each slice was moist, perfectly sweet, and full of flavor. Came here to pick up a cheesecake since it was the only bakery in the area that served cheesecake other than the generic grocery stores. Very small family owned shop. There is no parking lot but lots of street parking. Just be aware of the traffic during school hours. Friendly service. Their display didn't look like they had anything available until we approached the counter and asked if they had cheesecake and the owner was able to locate some in their freezer. They also sold a few cafe lattes and other drinks. While waiting, the owner kindly gave us some free chocolate chip cookies since they were customers at my clinic and was getting their fur baby fixed. Cheesecake was good. I felt like the cheesecake tasted a little old for the crumbs. Had that freezer burn taste to the bottom but overall still good cheesecake. read more

They are always so friendly and helpful. During the pandemic, we've gotten a few cakes from them to celebrate some birthdays with the people in our household. They helped me choose a flavor and they spears had cakes on hand for last minute orders. Their flavors are very rich (in a good way). We've gotten the chocolate ganache with raspberry and that was a moist, dense cake with the perfect touch of raspberries. We've also gotten their cookies and pastries. One word to describe this bakery: GOURMET. It's easy to miss this place as you're driving down Whittier so just keep your eyes peeled for the sign. The inside is so cute and it feels like you stepped into a chic cafe. read more

This bakery is so DELICIOUS!! All of their cakes are so decadent but not where it's too sweet. It's perfect! Their desserts taste like restaurant style desserts. It's quality desserts. My family and I have been going to Amy's Pastry for YEARS and we just got over it. Their quality of cakes aren't as good as Brioche. Actually, Brioche isn't good, it's excellent! FYI Brioche cake slices are around $4.50. Kinda pricey but it's a big slice! You can actually share it. 8 inch cakes are $38 and 10 inch cakes are $48. They said order 2 days in advance but the earlier the better. These cakes are totally worth paying for! Everything is fresh and made in house. Now I know where I'll be ordering future bday cakes from. Thanks Brioche! read more

Their sign says that they are open from 10-6 pm but they are closed with no signage giving a reason. Tried calling the business and no answer either. I also checked their instagram to triple check if maybe they had posted that they would be closed today, but no post either. Oh well... read more

I believe this place is under new ownership. But that's beside the point. We've tried most of their cakes by the slice, holiday cookies and vanilla and chocolate cupcakes and tarts! We have not been disappointed. Everything tastes fresh, with distinctive unique tastes for their tarts. I especially love that they sell cakes by the slice. My daughter loves their strawberry shortcake, I love their German chocolate, and my husband their carrot cake. Their tiramisu is delicious too. Honestly you can't go wrong with anything here! It's local and tasty! I haven't tried their coffee yet. I wonder how that tastes? read more

Went this Saturday found them on Yelp and let me tell you I am not disappointed at all. If you're looking for quality pastries, made with quality ingredients. This is your spot. Ordered a custom cake Top tier chocolate bottom red velvet. Can't say enough about how good the cakes were . My daughter and I were having a debate on which cake was the moistest. I would definitely recommend them . Also ordered dozen strawberry macaroons.. enjoyed them freshly baked delicious. Chocolate chip cookie and peanut butter cookie yummy ! She made me feel absolutely welcomed from the very time I first stepped foot inside til even now--a weekly or biweekly regular. Two items for immediate consumption and then some cookies for later. We purchased a dozen of the regular size cookies, including both Ube and Thai Tea. Both of them were excellent, and I felt they were priced appropriately at a dozen for $18. The Thai Tea seriously tasted like you were truly drinking a thai tea. We also shared one large classic chocolate chip cookies (so yummy!) The only thing we didn't understand is that we shared a Ube Tres Leches. I am not sure what was going on. Don't get me wrong, what we ate was very good; however, it was 100% not Tres Leches. It was an Ube Cream with some graham cracker crumble underneath. So, my assumption is that they must have just given us the wrong item. I would love to try the Tres Leches again in the future. Please support his lovely local business. It was a real treat!

If you can't snag a spot at the curb, there is also a small parking lot at the front of the block, or around back. When you turn onto Garfield, make another right into the parking lot. Love this little bakery shop and would definitely be coming back for all my pastry needs. They also sell some really cute cakes!
