Lies on delivery websites. There is no Dessert Shack. It's actually Carrow's Restaurant. Very deceitful. Plus they mark up the pies by $10.

As the name of the bakery implies, it's "Perfectly Sweet"…read more I'm generally a bit more wary of purchasing baked goods from non-Asian bakeries since they tend to be sweeter than what my palate likes, but not here! The hours are a bit limited, but I managed to make it in time to grab some pre-made baked goods to go. I got a bag of coconut macaroons, bag of several chocolate chip cookies, 2 red velvet cookies, a baked dog cookie biscuit, and a cute Keroppi sugar cookie. Most of these ended up being gifts, but I did enjoy one of the red velvet cookies and for an already sweet flavor profile with white chocolate chips in it, I was already fearing the worse, but went perfect with a glass of milk. The edges were nicely crisped by the baking too. Delicious. Love that they had a stock of cute, pre-decorated cookies available as well (some Sanrio characters, animals, etc.) They also list all the ingredients used in each of the baked goods that they have prepackaged, which is nice. It's also a cafe where you can order drinks, as well as a place you can order cakes custom order or what they have behind the glass already. There's both seating inside and outside.

The matcha w/ red bean taiyaki is good, but it doesn't need the extra flair, honestly. So tasty on its own. I'm not a huge ice cream fan, but this was really enjoyable. It's a small shop with a few tables, but luckily, we came at a time when it wasn't too crowded. We ordered the ube and matcha swirl as well as a taiyaki with cookie butter. The cashier was quick and friendly. Total came out to $9 which is pricey in my opinion, but I thought the taste would make up for it. Ube and matcha swirl: Honestly, the ice cream was just okay. I definitely could taste the ube flavor, but the matcha flavor was weak. Additionally, the ice cream was not creamy. It was slightly icey. Somisomi's ice cream is much creamier, so I was disappointed with With Love's quality. Taiyaki with cookie butter: I really liked their taiyaki! It was crispy and slightly sweet. The cookie butter was great, but I just wish there was more filling. I do think their taiyaki is better than Somisomi's! Overall, With Love was a nice place to try for the first time, but I don't think I'll be back. I still prefer Somisomi, especially since they are actually cheaper than With Love with better quality.

I've tried a few of their mousse cakes and Portuguese tarts, and everything has been delicious. Those adorable fluffy animal cakes might look too cute to eat, but trust me, they're totally crave-worthy! As someone who loves anything chocolate or mango, I know I'll be coming back often. A fun treat to try: freeze-dried mousse cake bites. They'd make an awesome ice cream topping! Highly recommend stopping by if you have a sweet tooth.

Its a small shop on Main in Alhambra and there's a lot in the back as well as street parking. It's a brightly lit, pick up and go type place though there are a couple tables out front. The baked goods look really cute and enticing and I ended up going for a mystery box since I wasn't after a specific cake and the mystery aspect seemed appealing. I also got 6 egg tarts, which were a great price at $1 each. The baked goods/sweets looked better than they tasted flr me. The egg tarts had a texture that was a bit off putting for myself, it was more of a steamed egg texture than a silky custardy filling. Flavorwise, they were ok though. The mystery box was fun and I got an apple cake, peach cake, and a panda cake. Now the mystery box is day old cakes so keeping that in mind, they are like cream based "cakes" and are essentially cream covered gels/jellies of some sort. The flavor and textures were good, very light cream with strong fruit flavors (the panda was also a peach flavor, I think). As a set of the mystery box price, I think the cakes are fun to try but I wouldn't, personally, pay those prices for essentially shaped cream. I'm glad I tried a new spot but ultimately don't think it was super impressive and found most of their desserts and baked items to be average, or a little less so as for the egg tarts.

SALJU HAS EXCELLENT SHAVED SNOW…read more=============================== I am so glad Salju is still in business after all these years! It seems really popular as well. While I was there lots of people came in. I used to bring my son years ago. My selection today was a small matcha with strawberries on top. I had the choice of two items in addition to condensed milk which I love. Next time I'll pay extra for more condensed milk. It was absolutely delicious. Even though it's about twelve miles from my home I will make the trip. It's worth it. The service is great too.

A bit gooey when you pull it up; It doesn't melt quickly right in your mouth too rating: 4.7/5 - this might be on my top 2 shaved ice spot because its texture was just so unique; flavor was good and portion was massive - i really have nothing to complain about this spot and what's even better is the amount of seats and outlets in the store - has a restroom in the back - great spot to hang and chit chat - super welcoming and friendly service - service is extremely speedy IG: @nom.noms.only

I had a lovely experience at Old Ferry Donut (San Gabriel). I ordered the Tiramisu Donut ($4.95)…read more It's a fluffy, BIG donut that tastes like a decadent tiramisu. It's also filled with a light, soft cream. DELICIOUS! I arrived at Old Ferry Donut (San Gabriel) on a Wednesday (around 3:42PM). Parking is simple. There's a competitive customer parking lot. And there's a city public parking lot about a two minute walk away. Staff is very friendly, professional, and welcoming. Staff maintained a bright smile throughout my visit. Staff immediately helped me. Customers can order at the self-service kiosk or counter; however, the kiosk felt very dated & the prices on the kiosk felt less transparent. I recommend just ordering at the counter. There's no penalty for using card at this donut establishment. As mentioned, I love the Tiramisu Donut ($4.95). It's not too sweet; rather, it all felt balanced. However, this is a VERY messy donut; I recommend eating this donut with a fork and knife. The powder fall everywhere, and your clothes can quickly get stained with chocolate powder. Still, it's a delicious pastry. On ambiance, Old Ferry Donut (San Gabriel) is comfortable. This business is more reminiscent of a cafe than a typical donut shop. There's customer internet with password; details on the counter. There's a gender neutral restroom. And there's an electrical outlet & outlet adaptor for devices. The location is fairly small; there's one interior table and one small counter. Fortunately, this place felt airy and well-ventilated. There's also some upbeat, fun music in this clean spot. Overall, I found unexpected joy at Old Ferry Donut (San Gabriel). There's sincere passion & hard work within these walls. If searching for a special donut for a special someone, this is an easy spot to recommend. 4.9 out of 5! Go!

Ordered a single shot espresso and the very popular butter pistachio donut. It was HUGE. I shared it with a co-worker as I knew there was just no way I alone could finish it. The espresso was good and strong, and for me, a single shot was more than enough to get me through my morning. As I was the only customer in the place at the time, service was quick and friendly. I will definitely be back to try other donuts!
