It's hard to believe that this is part of a chain, because this is some of the best Mexican food that I've had in Canada. In particular, the table-side guacamole was the best I've had anywhere, with the perfect mix of onions and jalapenos in super fresh avocados. The tacos were also very good, in particular the fish taco. Service was friendly, and the atmosphere was decidedly Mexican Cantina. A pleasant surprise for a tourist area.

We saw tableside guac on the menu and immediately said YES. We got some margaritas to start - mine the spicy mango marg with tajin rim and my husband got just the regular margarita. Tableside guac of course for our app and someone came to our table to mix it all up for us. We shared the birria tacos (comes with 3) and added a side of rice and beans. The rice and beans weren't my favorite, I like a traditional Mexican rice and beans better. The tacos were great though! Cute place right in the heart of downtown Banff.

Came here for a quick lunch and would like to say my partner and I from LA and San Diego so honestly we weren't expecting much when it came to Mexican in banff, but we were proven wrong! It was super delicious and honestly exceeded our expectations. The wait staff was so friendly in helping us decide what to get and service was super quick! I think we waited maybe 10 minutes haha. Inside is also very cute, lots of seating and located in the heart of downtown. We loved it!

The margarita, tostada ensalada and chicken tinga taco were AMAZING!! Devon was our server and she was super professional and kind

We were craving Mexican food while visiting Banff and that's how our story with Anejo started. Thankfully didn't have to wait for a table and were able to snag a nice U shaped booth. Our server greeted us immediately and was super kind, friendly, and elevated our experience. She gave us some helpful tips for the menu and also some perspective on Banff as a local. To start, we ordered the tortilla soup. Let it be known, it was the best tortilla soup I have ever had; so good, so spicy, so tasty. For my main, I had an assortment of 3 tacos (1 fish, 2 chicken tinga). I appreciated that the tacos were not drenched in a bunch of sauces and had fresh ingredients that complemented the protein. Overall, loved the food and felt satisfied.

Good food and exceptional service. With outdoor seating and family friendly, it's one of the gems to eat at the banff downtown. We enjoyed our food and drinks in the perfect summer of banff. I hope you do to.

Friendly service and a mixed break from the Banff street crowds, not busy at 1:30 but we had reservations. Great guacamole mixed tableside. Tacos were just ok, we had corn and they were kind of soft and floppy room temp, would have been better warmed. We sat at a booth which was nice

Fabulous birria tacos. We tried both the chicken and beef. You can't go wrong either way. The Queso dip was real good as well.

There was plenty of seating inside which meant it didn't take long for the two of us to seated. It'd been years since I ate at a Spaghetti Factory. I order the Diavola Chicken Gnocchi and LOVED it. It had a nice spice to it, and the chicken wasn't overcooked. My partner ordered the manicotti, which she really enjoyed with the side of meatballs. The mozzarella triangles were exactly what you'd want and expect from a mozzarella stick. We tried the tropical sangria which was okay; it was sweet but didn't have much of a kick to it. The serving staff was super helpful and accommodating. Wish it was climate controlled as the temp was warm and there was limited air flow. Perfectly cooked, insanely flavorful, and worth every dollar. It's also dope that they let you choose your own steak knife, which adds to the whole experience. Adam was hands-down a big reason the night was so good -- he helped with drink recommendations, set the tone, and really tied the entire dinner together. And do not skip dessert -- the 1888 Sundae is absolutely worth it. I could honestly eat two by myself. Great food, great service, would 100% come back.

We ordered the scallop dish which arrived quickly but it's not a filling dish. While we were waiting, we decided to order the milk bread so that we could eat it while we wait for the main course. The milk bread also took long to arrive though. I like that they can make any drink here. This place had the best espresso martini I tried while I was in Banff. They just can't make a pina colada because they don't have a blender. I highly recommend the ribeye. You get a lot of meat for what you pay and it was delicious. There's not a strict dress code enforced. You can dress up or be casual. I wouldn't recommend dressing too casual but I did see people arrive in very casual outfits such jeans, knit sweaters and a santa hat.

Our menu said it was going to be a curry dish, but when it arrived it was a Mediterranean dish. It was honestly dreamy! But we were confused because I guess we had a copy of the old menu. Nonetheless, I basically licked the plate! Lastly we ordered the chocolate salted caramel budino (pudding) for dessert. While waiting for everyone to come & settle down, they were serving appetizers. Everything on the menu was so delicious. Drinks were good! The wait staff was pleasant knowledgeable and accommodating. We were in a large party so we had a semi private dining area. Their specialty cocktails were great and very appealing to the eye in regard to the presentation upon delivery to the table. Very well put together flavour notes hit. The noise level in the restaurant was perfect for socializing so no complaints there. We did have a large party which probably pushed the kitchen staff a bit because some of the plating of a few dishes came out and were not complete ( 2out3 dishes came missing some plating components) when we made a comment to the waiter he went to investigate. They realized the issue and made a course correction on our bills which was appreciated. I hade the pork chops and I'll say the plating presentation was good but the quality of the the chops not so much, now I've worked in the industry in the past so I usually give a wide birth when it comes to the doneness of my proteins. But these were over cooked or seemed to have been cooked from a frozen state because they were dry as an Alberta summer. Not to mention tough and for that reason is why I'm only giving a 3 out of 5. Pork chops should be cooked through but full of juice these definitely missed the mark. The other components of the dish were great cooked proper with a perfect balance of seasoning. I'd come stop in again if I was in town but I'd probably wouldn't get the chops again.
