Well my Thai food odyssey and cravings continues.. spin the Brooklyn globe and I landed in.... drumroll please! Prospect Heights. I needed to find a Thai restaurant close to Brooklyn Botanic Gardens; BBG was hosting members only event and I wanted to stay in the area. I bookmarked Nourish when my friends and I ate recently at Morgan's BBQ on St. Marks. Nourish also serves lunch specials from 12-4pm then close and reopen for dinner at 5pm. I opted to dine outside in a breezy summer day. I chose the following ( Lunch Specials come with salad or soup and 1 app) House Salad: on menu it states peanut dressing but I was told ginger dressing. The salad is on the chintzy side and most Thai restaurants serve tofu with salad this salad sans tofu. Portion was skimpy but dressing was actually tasty tho I prefer peanut dressing. Unsure about menu mix up. Thai Steamed Dumplings: Ground chicken and shrimp with mushrooms and water chestnuts served with soy sauce. Very good. Pad Se-Ew with Chicken: generous portion and delicious except the Chinese broccoli had no taste. Thai iced tea was sweet, delicious and served in mason jar. Service was extremely friendly and pleasant. So why 4 stars? Stick to the menu.. not to pick, but I love peanut dressing and unsure as to why not served as menu states. Additionally, surely they could have substituted. For a Prix Fixe lunch special $17 is on the pricey side as compared to the other Thai places I've eaten at that start at $11. Nourish has some solid Thai food but in all honesty, I've had better. However, in this particular area Nourish does stand out in terms of food. The decor is great and the service is attentive as well. My friends and I ordered the papaya salad, vegetable glass noodles (forgot the exact name), and the pad thai with shrimp. Everything was great but the papaya salad stood out to me, especially on a hot summer day. It's been our go-to order in place for a while now. However, over the past year, the quality has been declining. Now it's a hit-and-miss type of situation (again). Also, they do not seem to care if people are vegetarian or vegan. I searched high and low for this spot on Ubereats after coming across it one time a few weeks ago and not bookmarking it. I saw a picture of their crab fried rice here on Yelp while looking for somewhere to order from and made a mental note to add it to my list. Last weekend I had some BOMB crab fried rice and literally 2 days later, I was craving it again. So I thought, "I need to find that place i saw on Uber." They plate the crab on top of the rice in a very appealing way lol so I knew what I was looking for, took me forever. I had high hopes, so when I finally found them I decided to try their Pad Se Ew as well. They're a little pricey compared to other Thai spots around here if I'm being honest but like I said, I had high hopes and didn't care. $16 for the veggie pad se ew and $20 for the rice which I felt was not bad for the quality of crab. I'm not gonna lie to y'all though, the rice was disappointing. Absolutely filled to the brim but lacking. It was mushy, needed more flavor, just not at all what I was expecting and after having amazing rice literally just two days before, theirs didn't stand a chance. The crab was tasty and fresh but there was so much rice and not enough crab to go around. Also would've liked larger and more fried egg pieces mixed in. It was very much just a ton of rice and a handful of crab, nothing else. No dimension. No texture. Not enough flavor. Not what I was expecting at all and definitely wouldn't get again. The pad se ew however was great. That one didn't come full to the brim which I thought was kind of annoying for it being $16 but whatever. Great flavor, nice selection of veggies to go around. Larger egg pieces too. It did what needed to be done. I actually ended up scooping the crab out of my rice and mixing it in with the noodles. Enjoyed it a lot more that way because after about 5-6 spoons of rice, I was over it. Definitely didn't want that crab going to waste. I would order again but I'm just gonna stick to their noodles dishes and maybe try their fish entree. read more

This is by far my favorite Thai place in Prospect Heights. Every time I come, I'm amazed by the flavor and taste of everything. The inside is really cute, with boho decor. They also have a back patio that they open when during the summer. The cocktail selection is pretty large and I really like the purple drink. It's topped with prosecco and pairs really nicely with the food. I've gotten the Pad See Ew and hunger noodles and both are amazing. The texture of the flat noodles is perfect. They're chewy and soft, but not overcooked. I liked how the hunger noodles had a bit of everything. The crunch of the bean sprouts was a good contrast to everything. The dish does come medium spicy, which you can adjust. I ordered mine less spicy but it still came out pretty spicy so be aware if your spice tolerance is not good. Typical, standard, Americanized Thai fare. Small seating area indoors--the restaurant seats 16-18 people tops. Outdoor seating available, but it gets sweltering hot outside, so you'll be frying in the open sun if you attempt that feat. We were swearing waterfalls, so had to ask to relocate to indoors. Only one tiny bathroom, which made me claustrophobic from how confined and dark the mop-closet-sized space space was. $14 beef Kee mao barely had any sauce, wish it was more flavorful and wet. $14 beef fried rice was on the dry side as well. Protein to rice ratio could've been better--all rice, barely any beef. Staff were accommodating, but seemed frenzied and overworked. We were pressured to order drinks multiple times by multiple waiters. Also were pressured to leave tips in cash in addition to leaving tips on card. Not a nice way to end the meal. read more

I came here for dinner on a Saturday night around 7:30. We didn't have reservations. They initially told us it would be a 20-30 minute wait, but we were seated after only about 10 minutes. To drink, I had the butterfly pea spritzer. It was beautiful when it arrived at the table with the purple lychee floating on top. It was light, slightly sweet, and refreshing. To eat, I had the chive pancakes. These were served as thick triangular wedges. They were nicely fried and crispy. I enjoyed the sweet sauce that accompanied it. For my main, I had the Eight Secret. It was chock full of veggies including carrots and mushrooms. The glass noodles were very thin and had a tasty sauce. My friend had the fried calamari and crab fried rice and enjoyed them as well. It was an enlightening Thai restaurant that had a diverse menu of different food styles I was not accustomed too. It allowed for a lot of exploration. I chose Gai Kamin SomTum and contained all the flavors I would expect from a traditional Thai restaurant. However, it lacked true spice that I have experienced in Thai food which I could not find here. It felt void of any intense flavour something that has some bite. My tongue was left unsatisfied. I have to highlight the cocktails. I ordered the lychee martini and tried several others. The Muddy cocktail was well balanced between the bitter of the black tea and sweetness of the baileys. The cocktails were poised, elegant, and flavourful. I will come back to drink and try something new. read more

Great way to start the meal and satisfy our immediate hunger. The entrees were good. I got the pad krapow gai (thai basil chicken with fried egg though I know everyone spells this a bit differently). The flavor was good, I just wish there was more of it. I guess I could've gotten hot, but the medium was really quite mild so how would I have known. I guess a note for next time. It was a good portion and I was glad they used properly minced chicken. I love basil chicken and is basically how I judge Thai places, so this was good but I've also had better. I have come here twice and this was my second time. I really enjoyed this place we came on Saturday for an early dinner. We ordered one appetizer the wings and for the main course I had a fried rice with shrimp sausage chicken and mushrooms. I really enjoyed my fried rice because it was very flavorful and had a sweet flavor. I do not remember the name but it was very good. A good place for Thai in Brooklyn. It has upscale quality food but the atmosphere is casual. Nourish has many choices for vegetarians. Many items also can be made vegan by telling the server about it. The prices are okay for the big portions. I had the Sautéed Basil. It's $12 with a meat choice. This comes with basil leaves, bell peppers, chili, and onions, and I got tofu. On the menu it's listed as being spicy, and it kind of is. With the basil it also has a cool taste. She had the Panang Curry. This has bell peppers, kaffir lime leaves, and string beans with coconut milk. It sure smelled good. Like mine this is also listed as spicy. However she said it wasn't that bad. The meals seemed like a good value because the amount of food was a lot. Highly recommended for good Thai food. It's located in Prospect Heights. Service was great and no complaints there. Came here on a weekend for lunch! We shared the curry puffs as an appetizer which were really yummy! Lots of filling and the sweet cucumber relish was the perfect compliment to the puffs. For a drink, I got a nonalcoholic passion fruit drink that was super refreshing and sweet! My main was the massamun curry with chicken. The dish comes with rice but I would recommend ordering a second serving of rice because I used up all my rice pretty quickly and the rice tastes so good when soaked in the curry sauce! A great casual spot for delicious Thai food! The atmosphere is casual but the food tastes way better than your standard Thai food spots found in the Park Slope area. For a table of 4, we ordered a bunch of food to share for the table: Herb wings - very good and very flavorful, nice and juicy Fried Calamari - nicely fried with a light and crispy batter, very good Papaya salad - refreshing and spicy Tom Yum soup - a bit too spicy for me but my friends loved it Shrimp Panang Curry - So good! Very flavorful and shrimp was good Crab meat fried rice - generous amount of real crab meat, nicely flavored for a lighter taste. I loved it! Soft shell crab with mango salad - Good but could be better. We ordered an extra roast pork bun app, which we could have easily done without as they had very little filling and were not worth it. Our actual lunch specials, though, were quite good. I found my favorite thai spot in NYC. They do all the classics right from pad thai, curry puffs, tom yum soup, to spring rolls. But some of the less well-known dishes are amazing and offer variety from the usual. My absolute favorite dish at Nourish is the bamee moo dang bbq pork. I haven't tried their desserts but the Thai Ice Tea was also perfect. not too sweet and authentic tasting (just like the type I tried in Bangkok). most places westernize the thai ice tea and load it with too much sugar. Easy way to know if a place is good or not. The restaurant is super cute. I've sat inside and outside. Nice ambiance and aesthetic. Last but not least is their A M A Z I N G service. Our last waitress, Nana, was so friendly and attentive. She recommended the bamee moo dang and massaman curry which my wife and I absolutely love and will try again. One of my favorite Thai spots in New York! When it comes to Thai food, I'm super basic, so I always get either the pad see ew or pad thai. Both are absolutely delicious. Fair warning though--if you select anything higher than "mild" spicy level, it's going to be pretty hot. The spiciness isn't too crazy, but it definitely builds up over time. The noodles are always really flavorful, and it's large enough that I usually have leftovers for a second meal. The vibes inside are really chill and intimate, and whenever I've ordered takeout, my food always comes really quickly. If you're looking for a yummy Thai spot in Brooklyn that won't break the bank, you should definitely check out Nourish! I LOVE Thai food but usually when I have a craving I head to Manhattan. This time around a friend suggested this place because it was new-ish and she hadn't tried this place yet. She's as big a fan of pan-asian cuisine, as am I, so I trusted her and I felt like there was a good probability that I would like the food. I'm probably biased though because I don't think I've ever had Thai food I didn't like. Anyways, the first thing I noticed upon entering the restaurant was that it was warm! During the winter the worst thing in the world is to take your jacket off for etiquette's sake but then have to suffer because of drafts or because the dining room is kept cool on purpose. My companion and I met around 5:30 pm, before the place filled up but about an hour and a half in the place was almost full. But enough of the background. The service was fast from the beginning. The food came out very quickly. It was hot and tasty. We had the Roti (Didn't know that the Thai made their own version of roti), Dumplings, Thai fried rice and a few of their Lychee Mojitos. Zero complaints! My only word of caution is something that isn't really in the restaurant's control: The place seems kid friendly so on our visit there were some kids from different parties running about. Again, not the restaurant's fault and it seemed like some of their patrons were from the immediate vicinity... but it was a definite distraction.
