    SHRIMP PAD THAI
    Skyy S.

I randomly stumbled across this place while in Brooklyn. We were sat immediately without a reservation, which was great. The staff was super nice and I loved how intimate this restaurant was. We were unable to get those pretty dumplings, but we did see another table with them and they looked so good. I will say I am in love with that shrimp pad Thai perfect portion and this restaurant will definitely be on my list next time I am in town!

We typically order delivery from this place but tonight we decided to eat in. And it was a great decision! The food was very good and so was the service! We ordered the "CHOR MOUNG" Purple Blossom Dumpling ($12) - a novelty but not sure I would order it again. We shared two entrees- Jasmin Tea-Smoked BBQ Baby Back Rib w/ hand-cut spicy basil fries. Amazing. Meat fell off the bone. We also had the sautéed chicken ginger. Overall delicious! And service was excellent! The only issue I had was the noise. The restaurant has a lot of tile and high ceilings which makes it echo and carry noise. Other than that, a great place to dine.

Top dish is the lump crab curry noodles , bottom : spicy shrimp noodles

Friday night the space is filled with dates and friend groups. Sexy decor and lighting . Indoor/outdoor seating. The menu is simple not overwhelming. Its like elevated thai food. They have some of the standards then a twist on some classics. For appetizer we did the pull apart bread. It was described eloquently but essentially it was just a stuffed croissant lol it was ok. My friend ordered the lump crab curry noodles. It was good had a decent kick to it. I ordered the spicy shrimp noodles. It had a hell of a kick and nice jumbo pieces of shrimp. Its a good date spot. The prices are higher then a typical Thai spot. I had a whiskey sour it was good. My friend ordered one of the 2 mocktails and enjoyed it

Well balanced flavors, excellent portions, and reasonably priced. Sidewalk seating available, simple beauty inside. Beautiful presentation, creative but not austentatious. Server knowledgeable, handled preferences well. Refreshingly delicious.

A cozy intimate restaurant with good food. I wanted to get their recommended purple blossom dumplings but unfortunately they were out of them. I got the delicious holy basil minced chicken .. pretty good however if it came with noodles instead of the rice it would be perfect imo. The server Lisa was professional and friendly. I think this restaurant is worth trying once if close by.

interesting fusion dishes but nothing is ever crave. got the banana flower salad - unique and liked the subtle sweetness the flowers brought, ribs - super tender, and ground chicken. not too impressed overall.

Absolutely fantastic place with fantastic service and fantastic food. The ambiance is date-night-y but not too romantic that you can't go out with buddies. The food is spicy but not overwhelming. The desert CANNOT be missed.

PHENOMENAL THAI FOOD! Very friendly staff and the food was incredible. We ordered a good bit of food: the basic shrimp pad thai lol, the masamam curry, dumplings, and fried cheese wontons. All of these dishes were incredible. We also all got three drinks which suited all of our preferences perfectly! Definitely get drinks while you're here. The staff was also that perfect balance of there when you needed them, but not hawking over your shoulder. There's a nice patio on the street or a quaint and cute inside dining room inside if that's your preference. Good vibes all around! I'll be back:)

My cousin took me and my family here after ranting about how good this spot was. I ordered the banana blossom salad, my sister got the red curry, my cousin and his wife got shrimp pad thai and the short rib dish. We all tasted the duck sausages for our appetizer. The Thai tea could be a tad less sweeter and for the price point of some of the dishes, the serving size was a bit small. Overall everything was delicious though.

Nuaa was quite a nice experience for a quiet dinner in the neighborhood. With Vanderbilt closed on weekends this summer it's sure to be a hit. The star is definitely the slow braised massaman curry. Must get for sure. We definitely wouldv like to try some other dishes on the menu based on what we've had. Service was great, staff was nice. Will be back

What first got me sold to try this place was the purple royal thai dumplings (Chor Muang). I saw someone else mention these in a review and I thought- I have to try that for myself. These dumps are basically served to you on their own little throne. They only come with 2, but 2 was enough for me. Perfect balance of sweet and savory. the dough of the dumpling itself was so unique and flavorful. I really enjoyed this and definitely recommend getting it. Other items I tried were: - Roasted Duck Buns: These were very good and rich. Just the right amount of fat vs sauce and fresh toppings. - Pigs ear roulade special: I did opt to try a special they had to step out of my comfort zone but this didn't suit my palate. the texture was a bit too gummy for me but I did like the flavor of the ear pieces combined with the strawberries and cucumber. If you're not as sensitive to textures, you might like this. - Grilled coconut- glazed duck skewer (another seasonal special): I was worried to try two duck dishes but the server assured me that this skewer was more like a meatball and she was right. This was so yummy and the perfect amount of sweet. When dragged through the chili-mint sauce, this was extremely mouth watering. I know I only opted to try a few of their specials as opposed to more staple menu items but I will DEFINITELY be back to experience some of their regular offerings. A good place for a second date, family or friends visiting in town or just a night for yourself. This isn't a fussy place and it seems like you can most likely walk in and get seated pretty swiftly. (Though they do offer reservations and I'm always a fan of "if you can book it, you should".) 4.7/5

Our group of 4 started with a bottle of Pinot Grigio and a few appetizers to share, namely: Som tum papaya salad and dumplings curry. For the main entree, my eyes caught the attention of clay pot mix-fried rice with shrimp, chicken, sweet sausage, and my partner chose shrimp pad thai. Nothing really stood out with the dishes; I found it to be a bit Americanized, having eaten in so many Thai restaurants around New York City. Overall, we enjoyed our dinner here; our food came in timely fashion, and the customer service is good as well, but it's probably not your place if you are seeking a more authentic Thai-style cooking.

They were absolutely packed despite the time. We ordered the pad see ew with shrimp, the crab fried rice (amazing), the Pak Mor which is a sweet and savory rice roll that comes with coconut cream dipping sauce (drool worthy), and last but not least the Kao Tom Haeng which also comes with a tasty broth on the side. I'd say that the pad see ew was the weakest dish of what we ordered but it was still tasty. I think it would have been nicer with a different protein, perhaps chicken or tofu. My friends and I have never dined in but the ambience looks very warm and inviting. If you love delicious and flavorful food then this is the place for you! Look no further!! Highly recommend!!!! It was like a sprinkle of Thai on a classic tuna ceviche. Note the taro chips are a little thicker than a typical chip! The pork jowl wasn't as crispy as I expected but it was still flavorful and the portion size was huge, considering how it was an appetizer. We got pineapple lychee crispy duck, crab fried rice, and kana crispy pork over rice as our entree. ALL WERE SO GOOD! The curry for the pineapple lychee crispy duck was so creamy and flavorful, with the duck portion being huge and being the perfect texture. The sweet fruit with the savory fish worked way better than I expected. · Pineapple Fried Rice - came with shrimp, nice wok aroma, and that perfect sweet-tangy pineapple kick. · Pineapple Lychee Crispy Duck (GF) - duck skin was nice and crispy, and the coconut-based sauce with lychee and pineapple kept it from feeling heavy or greasy. · Branzino Chili Lime (GF) - came out piping hot, classic Thai-style sour broth that paired perfectly with the fish. No fishy taste at all, and the texture was tender. Even the drinks and dessert weren't overly sweet, which was a pleasant surprise. I dislike bamboo shoot which is not a standard ingredient for this particular entrée. I think the bamboo shoot tainted this entrée. I am a traditionalist conservative which bean sprouts is a good substitute variation for bamboo shoot vegetable including string bean. This entrée is my favorite default and as a caveat, if any Thai restaurant or cafe do not offer on their menu I refuse entry to patronize. This entrée enticed my interest and embedded the lunch meal menu for the reasonable price. I personally despise and do not consume spicy hot foods, but occasionally consume mild or very mild in the smallest measurement of the Scoville scale which I specifically requested, but received medium hot spicy. The waitress forewarned me the intense heat level on the Scoville scale as Thai cultural spicy with two or more bird's eye chilies for a high level of spiciness. The spiciness of chili peppers were, in my opinion, medium spicy. Despite the intense medium heat spiciness, the stir-fried noodles lacked flavor with, tender chicken, minimal vegetables, and Thai basil in a bland taste. I wish I chosen shrimp as the protein. Pad Kee Mao sustained my hunger pangs and ate my fill. When eating Thai intense heat spicy foods, I visualize to think of the TV segment "Niall Horan & James Corden Take On Hot Wings" on "The Late Late Show with James Corden" in March, 2020. High heat spicy foods! Thai ice tea, large $3.00 This was a delight and neutralized the heat spiciness because it contains milk. It was served chilled in a large highball glass. Samyan is a Thai cafe located in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn, NYC and accessible via MTA NYC Transit C local train at Clinton-Washington subway station. This cafe is a independently owned and operated, thankfully. The waitress did check-in with me during my meal for attentive customer service. The atmospheric conditions were a simple small dine-in cafe. There were many paintings, portraits hanging on their walls of white subway tiles. Gold metallic metal chopsticks and fork are provided. If utensils are gold then the interior cafe should contain these "gaudy" feature extensive gold elements, including gilded moldings and furniture. Peony rose are very simply and made pretty table centerpiece decorations. Takeout menu and business cards are available for grabs. I did received my sales receipt. At the bottom of the sales receipt there is a suggested gratuity in intervals of 18%, 20% and 22% where customers do not have to perform math calculation. I paid $23.00 in cash as the waitress' informative knowledge of the ingredients and preparation of the heat level on the Scoville scale.

My partner was running late, and even though the place is clearly very popular right now, they still accommodated us with a table. The staff explained every unfamiliar dish we asked about, always with a smile. I usually avoid the standard NYC Thai restaurant lineup of pad thai + generic curry situations and look for places that feel more regional and authentic. The menu here had a bunch of dishes I didn't recognize, which immediately made me excited. They even have a spice guide though the icons don't necessarily mean increasing spice levels. As I understood it, different symbols represent different types of heat. Three chili emojis and three meteor emojis may be equally spicy, but they hit differently. They recommended not to order the pad krapow nuer, and honestly, fair enough. Instead, we got the chicken khao soi, which was far better than versions I've had elsewhere - deeply flavorful, spicy, rich with umami. My partner was crying. I, meanwhile, was at "this is perfect and I'm having a great time." One Huge chunk of chicken cooked exactly right. Mix everything thoroughly before eating. Then came the kua kling which arrived with another warning. That dish became my personal challenge to impress the server, and apparently I succeeded because now they've promised that next time they won't discourage me from ordering the nuer. They kept refilling cabbage and cucumber for us to cool down from the heat. The kua kling itself was incredible. That dry curry heat was everything. It builds slowly, then suddenly punches you in the face - but alongside all that spice is an insane amount of flavor. They also recommended to order a non-spicy side dish to have a balanced meal and spice level, but we skipped it because it would've been too much food. Honestly, this is the kind of place where going with at least four people is ideal so you can try more dishes and balance the spice levels. And if you're unsure what to order, trust the servers - their recommendations were spot on. Also: really great ciders and beers. We were really happy with both choices. Overall, even though it's far from the city for me, I'd absolutely go back.

The restaurant is tiny, so be sure to make a reservation. As a lover of spicy food, the spiciness in the dishes really brought out such a great flavor. Since my friend didn't eat as spicy, we found a happy medium getting just slightly spicy dishes which were all fantastic. We ordered the Khao Soi ($33) and Pla Tod Nam Pla ($40). The khao soi wasn't too spicy, especially since the broth has a creaminess and the spicies are on the side before mixing, which you can exclude. The chicken was so tender, but did come with bone so this can be trickier to share. Then the pla tod really surprised me, but I can definitely see why it's the best seller. It is a fried branzino with a marinated fish sauce which goes so nicely with all the crunch. There are a few remaining pieces of bone, so be careful. The fish had a nice balance of fish meat and crunchy skin. If you're looking for a unique Thai spot, this is it. Also, perfect spot for spicy lovers too. They also offer a huge selection of alcohol.

My first time here and it was a great experience. It is Valentine's Day and we left with a cute little gift from them, beautiful gesture. Definitely coming back :)

Had been passing this spot for years and finally had the chance to stop in…read more Host was polite and quickly sat us without a reservation - we wanted to sit outside and there was room thankfully. Wait staff was attentive to dietary needs, exemptions and ensured our request was followed to a T. Ordered some Khao Kriab Pak Mor (dumplings) to start along with a pair of mocktails. And an order of Khao Na Ped (smoked vegan duck) and Ginger Chicken (vegan). All served well with good portion. What I personally liked is the 2 dishes took a bit, not slow or long but IMHO taking a little bit always seems it was cared for in prep. Who knows just my thing. The staff has a challenge to accommodate outdoor seating as the bldg doesn't have an inside/back door for them and they must carry food out the front door, down the sidewalk and into the garden area. That's tough but they do it with grace. The seating was okay since it's early enough but bugs showed up - no surprise - not a complaint just the reality of life and online typing in case anyone is considering it and is more sensitive to the same.
