We got them to come out next day which was great and fix one part. I haven't gotten receipt or estimate of what else is needed for our oven to get fixed. If I could give negative stars, I would. I agree with some of the other reviews that the owner has some serious anger issues and is actually a pretty scary individual, especially toward females. I went onto the website and requested an appointment on the appointment form. I did not hear back after 24 hours. So, I called the company phone number and told him "hey, I set up an appointment online but didn't hear back -" and before I could finish, he rudely interrupted me saying that they don't do appointment online - I have to call. (why do they have a request appointment box then? But, I didn't argue). I told him my dishwasher had stopped working. He and his co-worker came the next day. As soon as he opened my dishwasher, he started lecturing me about how I have to rinse my dishes first. I told him that we do. He then grabbed some food from the bottom filter, showed it to me disgustingly, and said "No, you don't." I told him okay, sir, please let me know when you're done and if you need anything. I then went upstairs to work. He was there about 20-30 minutes max. He had taken the dishwasher apart to clean out the food from the motor that had got through the filter. He again lectured me that I cannot be putting dirty dishes in the dishwasher. I said okay, thank you, how much do I owe? The way he talked down to me was just so disrespectful, and I just wanted him out of my house. The diagnostic fee was $99 and then he charged me an extra $100 plus tax. I paid him over $200 for 30 minutes of work. But, such is life. Over the next few days, I noticed that the water is not hot, and the dishes are not drying at all. They were completely cold and wet when I would run a cycle - no matter what cycle. I went out of town for Thanksgiving vacation. I called him again yesterday and told him that he had been there a few weeks ago and that my dishwasher still was not working properly. He said he could come the next day. I asked for a 30-minute lead call, and he said he could give me 20 minutes. He's just kind of a jerk and knows nothing about customer service. I said fine, 20 minutes worked. He called me 10 minutes out, and I was in the middle of a work call. He came to the door, just him, and I repeated what I had told him on the phone. He said "ma'am, I came here a month ago - if it's not working, you need to call the next day." I said "so you only maintain your work for one day? That doesn't make sense. It was Thanksgiving - I went out of town." He rolled his eyes and said he needed the paperwork with what he did. I told him I did not have it handy, and I was in the middle of a work call (literally, I was briefing slides). I quickly told him why he came the last time and what I thought the issue was and what he did to fix it. I told him that the dishes were cold and wet after a cycle, which was not normal. He said, again condesdendingly, "ma'am, the dishwasher ONLY gets hot water. You make no sense." I just looked at him in disbelief. I said "please take a look and see what you can figure out - I'm going back to work." I finished my brief - all of maybe 5 minutes. I hung up, and he said "ma'am, come here." I walked into my kitchen, and he said that the computer crashed, and I needed a new computer altogether. I said "wow, um, okay....I guess I'll just get a new dishwasher then." (which is suspect since my dishwasher is only a few years old, and it was a state of the art Whirpool). He then said, "well, you owe me the service fee." I told him "no, sir, I'm not giving you any more money. That's unfair. You didn't fix my problem. I've already given you over $200 for a repair that was not complete." He then started cursing at me, calling me a liar and really scared me, as I'm home alone. I told him to please leave me house, or I'm calling the police. He told me to "oh, shut up", and then screamed profanities at me the whole way out of my home. It was so scary. This guy should not be in business. Next stop - Better Business Bureau. read more

Buyer beware! This guy Gary has an attitude problem and is doing a switch and bait with the free coupon I never was allowed to use. I had been told by an electrician that it looked like I had excessive water coming out of my condensate pipe. He was not an hvac pro, so I called Nova appliance repair to check and see if there was a problem. I am getting 2 gallons of water dripping per day. I was quoted 69.00 fee to come out and it would apply to the repair. He came out and told me the water dripping was normal. I was about to pay him the 69.00 fee to come out and while he was there asked him to look at the freezer as it was noisy. He told me the coils had to be cleaned underneath and he would do that for $128.00 - so he spends 5 minutes, sprays cleaner and vacuums dust and gives me a bill for $198. I thought the 69.00 service fee would be credited towards the fridge maintenance. He said no - the 69.00 credit was toward the hvac maintenance (that he did not do). He said there is a separate 69.00 service fee for every appliance in my house! What a rip off! I think the coupon is misleading and I just got ripped off $69.00. Plus he should have told me I can buy the cleaner at Home Depot for $15.00 and vacuum the area myself. Buyer beware!! I feel like I was taken advantage of. read more

I placed a request through HomeAdvisor for a quote for an appliance repair and the company called right away. When I explained that I only wanted a quote, the person on the phone started berating me, complained that he had to pay $25 per call to HomeAdvisor and told me it was "bullsh*t" that I was asking for an estimate over the phone. He continued to berate me, asking my profession and personal details until I hung up. read more

They came out 5-6 times to repair my fridge as each time the fix only lasted a week. On the last try, we agreed that if the fix didn't stick this time, that they would issue me a partial refund even though they have a 90 day guarantee; I accepted this compromise because I recognized it still cost them money to try to fix my fridge even though they failed to do so. However, they never honored the agreement for the partial refund. Further, I always had to call and chase them down to get them to come back out and remind them that my fridge was broken - they are generally bad at communication, and they seem only able to fix a limited set of problems. Another company fixed the issues for a third of the price on the first visit - they had completely misdiagnosed the issue. read more

This is specifically in regards to their customer service, and could be changed depending on how Nova Appliance Repair engages further. Called in today to request a quote on fixing a specific item in our washing machine, thus a known issue for them to quote me on. Instead of providing any sort of assistance, whoever took my call decided I was not worth their time, and hung up on me after indicating they were not interested in my business, since according to Nova Appliance Repair, they only determine costs once on site. This is a red flag as they are potentially roping in consumers to their service fee without providing transparent quotes beforehand. read more

This actually happened today. The technician/owner is a complete wack job. I scheduled a job which I then canceled but then this guy shows up in my driveway unannounced asking if he can do the service. I then told him I cancelled the job and then all of a sudden he starts throwing F bombs at me and calling me a motherfu*** and wanted to literally fight out on the street. I confronted him in my driveway and then he left like a coward, no joke. What a complete nut case loser. Please avoid this company. read more

DO not use this company, they are horrible. I had them fix my refrigerator the water filter control needed replacing for 300, so not bad. I then called them for my dishwasher and dryer. As you guess the Tech came in and the dishwasher worked UGH , the buttons don't always work, he said it works now and did nothing. Then the dryer has been tripping our breaker the last 2 weeks and of course , we put clothes in the dryer and no issue. So the Tech did nothing and 90 dollars later he left. Good news the dishwasher didnt work the next day the buttons, and the dryer I used it and it tripped the breaker. I called this morning to have them come back. The Owner seem annoyed, as I explained the issues, he said we will come back , I said okay but I need you take apart the dryer and he said no if its working. I said I need you to open it and check things , he said no , you will blame us if it has problems I said your expert. He got very loud, starting arguing with me and rude , and he said your breaker is the problem. I said it could be but I need you to open the dryer and check the heating element and thermal resistor. He said no, if its working. We starting arguing and he said some extremely rude things to me, I said I will take you to court, As his warranty says he will come back within 10 days and he said take me to court. Hit the start button on the dryer this morning and nada. Just a click. It had power so after some troubleshooting I found NOVA Appliance Repair. Well, I can tell you the reviews are well earned. It's a Saturday and he answered the phone pretty quick and said between 11-2 he'd be here. He was here before 11am. Very nice technician. Came in went right to work, found problem fast (broke belt) and luckily had a replacement. Fixed and was gone. Total time was maybe 30 min. Price was fine. I needed the work done and quickly. They fit the bill! Quality is worth every penny. So, now I'm can to the laundry!! How sad is my life. Highly recommend this biz! read more

Easy to schedule - when you call you actually speak with a person who will be able to help rather than a service who simply takes a message. Saturday afternoon my washing machine wouldn't drain. I surfed the web discovered it was either the drain pump or it the tube was clogged. I couldn't fix it. I found NOVA Appliance Repairs was close to my home. By this time it was 3:30 and I thought I had no chance. I called and got voicemail and as I was leaving a message, I was getting a call back from them. Gary answered and I explained the problem. He asked for my address then much to my surprise, he would be at my house in 10 minutes (on a Saturday afternoon)! He arrived in less than 10! He took the washer apart and found a penny (omg) stuck in the tube. He put everything back together and ran the washer and it was fine! Total time was maybe 30 minutes. So worth it. I was ready to write a 5 star review because I was receiving same day service within an hour. The technician arrived and was polite and was able to diagnose the problem, which happened to be a flipped breaker--we missed one of the reset buttons when trying to get our freezer back up and running. Sorry to have the technician come out just for that, but thankful it wasn't anything big. I got my checkbook out and ready to pay the $59.95 service fee that I was quoted when I made the appointment, but the technician told me he would only charge me the basic fee for the "repair" and asked for $129.99. I asked why it was this price since it didn't require a repair and then he started to argue with me and say that he has to pay $30 to Google among other things and then he doesn't get any money after that and why would he come out if he wasn't making any money from the job. I told him I would pay the service fee because he came out to my house and I appreciated that he came out here quickly, but there was no repair that took place. He continued to argue with me and involved my whole family. He then closed up his bag and said he wasn't going to charge anything but continued to argue with me.
