My tires were balanced, and I did not drive the car at high speed for almost two months. Then I had an 800-mile trip. The vibration was worse than before they balanced them. Total mileage since balancing was approximately 1,000 miles. I walked in, showed the lady at the counter my invoice, and she bluntly said, "Two months, we will not recheck". No thought of the mileage or the circumstances. What a way to lose a customer for life, and I live in a 450 home community almost across the street. Word spreads fast! read more

We heard an unusual funny rubbing noise coming from our driver side brake system on the 2022 Telluride. Since we couldn't bring in our car immediately to our Kia dealership, we walked into NTB Frederick store and had a diagnostic check on our car to see if the problem could be fixed. Dino checked the brake system and agreed that the noise was coming from driver side, and it was not the brake system but most likely from the transaxle system, which is beyond what their shop does and would be under Kia car warranty coverage. Because he was not 100% sure about the issue, he did not charge us for the labor. Dino gave us the peace of mind we needed to know that the car was still safe to drive and provided us with written copy of the diagnosis that we can give to our Kia dealership to fix our car issue. I just went in for an oil change. The young lady at the counter, Jessica, was very friendly and helpful. She said it would take an hour but I was out in about a half hour. I also had an alignment. I hit the mother of all potholes and my right rear tire was visibly out of line. I KNEW I was going to need parts, but the tech realigned it to spec and didn't need to replace anything. I purchased new tires from here because mine were having issues, even though they were in good shape. I have had issues with the new tires ever since, and every interaction and experience I've had with this location since, has been incredibly frustrating. They do not provide realistic or consistent estimates when it comes to your time or your wallet. The left hand doesn't talk to the right hand there - ever, leaving you feeling confused and inconvenienced, repeatedly. I've spent a couple hundred dollars taking Lyfts back and forth when it was previously communicated that making an appointment would allow me to sit and wait, not drop off and come back (at an unknown time, hours or days, because they never know what's going on). All in all, if I could go back and work with a different company, I would. I spent $1,300 on tires that don't work, I can't get anywhere without stopping to fill up with air, and I've had to make numerous visits to their location for something that should have been one and done. Buy tires. Go home. Incredibly annoying... *Edit* 3 of the 4 brand new tires are still losing air, every day (from 39 psi down to less than 10 PSI) yet NTB keeps saying there is nothing wrong with them. read more

Was going to get my rear brakes done at Quick Lane and saw NTB nearby, gave them a call and they not only were able to get me in on the spot but quoted me a price $148 LESS than Quick Lane plus lifetime pads. QL wouldn't price match or offer lifetime pads on my Toyota, so NTB got my business. Not only that, Dino made sure I was helped quickly and the job was taken care of with top notch quality everything. He was very personable, kind and expedient. I had called and received a great price for 4 new tires just to come in and have the total $60 more than what was quoted. called corporate who told me they would contact store and handle. when I came back to get my car, which I was never called to let know it was ready, the store said corporate hadnt called them. On my initial visit the staff was friendly and assisted me with getting the correct tires for my car at what was an acceptable price. where the rating went from a four star to a two star was following the initial appointment. the car began to pull to the right in the drive home. I called and was told to bring it in the next morning. when I arrived I was told it would be an hour and a half wait and if I wanted to set a time and come back that would be best. so for their error I was asked to drive back home and waste more of my time or to wait another hour and a half. this is unacceptable service. I should have been given priority but instead had to complain in order to get faster service. !!!!!WARNING!!!!! Do not use this business! Went in saying I needed my tire checked it had been low on air a couple times. They came back with "they found a nail" and "we do not patch or plug tires, we can put a new one on for you". I said no thank you! Give me my car back I will take it to my mechanic (which I should had done in the first place). Drove it to my mechanic, they informed me there was no nail or nail hole in that tire. My mechanic had removed the tire and tried to find where it was bubbling. No bubbles. I called NTB back asking where was the nail located that you removed from my tire, they said "ahhh there acutely was not a nail but we found bubbles coming from the inside edge." Do not trust these people... There was a man sitting there who had a fleet vehicle and had to use NTB. A lady walked in asking the NTB clerk for an estimate on some type of brake work. When the clerk walked into the shop to ask a question the man with the fleet vehicle told the lady that she should check around town on pricing and the only reason he used NTB was he had to that lady left. read more

A few weeks ago, I stopped in due to hearing my front driver's brakes grinding. It wasn't very loud, but I know that whenever you hear squeaks or grinding, to take the vehicle in asap, or the repair cost can go through the roof. When I spoke to the manager, Sid, he said that my brakes were fine and there was no need to be addressed at that time. Well, now I'm back, due to the grinding sound becoming way worse, and now I need a whole new braking system. I am pissed, as I take my cars only to this business and specifically this location. The same manager said he believes the caliper stuck on me, and they wouldn't have known that by just checking the shoes and pads. When a customer tells you that the brakes are making sounds, why wouldn't they do a note in-depth investigation? Well, I could have possibly injured my family and I or another person due to the state and condition of my brakes. All of this could've been avoided had they listened to me the first time. I wonder if this was so they could get my bill up for a larger repair versus the nominal amount for just pads? I will never be back, I will defer all friends and family from coming here or utilizing NTB, and I will tell everyone about the service I received. I have been a great customer, and I deserved better. There's no accountability here. Then I asked for an oil change when I arrived until they told me the estimate for my brakes. Well, they did the oil change without my consent because I was going to take my business elsewhere. Then they told me I couldn't leave with my brakes like they were, so I had to have them serviced by them. I am livid and can't wait to leave this horrible business and never return. I really don't understand why people are bashing this place. Bobby was amazing. They were very thorough. Had no problem keeping the car overnight. The brakes and tires were done early in the morning and they called multiple times to let us know how everything was going and any changes to the cost. They applied coupons to get discounts on the oil change. I don't think you can ask for more from an auto shop. We will take all of our cars there from now on. read more

Terrible customer service. On one occasion, we had made an appointment 2 weeks in advance. When we went in, they had no record of the appointment. It was a long wait, so we decided to leave the car for the day as we had plans later in the day. They made a big deal that we wanted to leave the car overnight. Then they never fixed the issue. But we let that go as my husband has used other NTB's for a long period of time. Then, my husband had picked up a nail on the way home from work. We called 3 hours before they closed. They couldn't fit us in. Not even to just check it. Then today, he picked up another nail. He stopped at NTB at 5pm (they close at 7) and they didn't have any time to check it tonight. He got told to come in after work tomorrow and they could possibly take a look. We called Pep Boys down the block and got told to bring it right in. They will take care of it immediately. Great place, service and staff. It's a tire shop. I bought 4 new tires( Michelin) ordered online, scheduled the appointment online and serviced a week later. They took great car of my cayenne and overall a great experience which can be hard to find. If you can get five stars from me you're doing it right!! Great job. A month later and I went to just pick up my car and everyone seemed to be dumb founded and then tried to sell me tires that costs hundreds of dollars a piece and when I told them I would go across the street to Mr. Tire first before I paid that much per tire. I purchased new Cooper tires from NTB in Frederick MD on August 22, 2020. I went back to the location on 2/2/21 for a tire rotation, had the service done and thought everything was fine. Over the weekend I was cleaning my auto to realize.... miraculously one of my "Cooper" tires is missing, it was replaced with another tire that is a complete different brand. The only place I have EVER left my car unattended is with NTB. My boyfriend who works in the auto repair industry called the location on 3/8/21 to figure out what was going on. He was told to take a picture of the tire, send it in email and they will investigate. On 3/9/21, he called back, spoke to a rep who stated they never got the picture. This time I sent it. I call the location around 3:30pm and speak to Howard who apparently has no idea what's going on. I explain my frustration and that I can bring my Jeep in to have them look at. I go into the location and speak to "Howard" or at least that's who he claimed to be. I asked if he's the gentleman I spoke to on the phone because that person sounded older.... His response was "What? You've never seen such a handsome fella before?". Already offended by his unprofessionalism and lack of a name tag to confirm who he really was, I again go over the situation. He claims to be the service manager that has been there for several years and it's impossible for something like this to happen. I said so its not possible for a tech to accidently put someone else's tire on my Jeep? He advises yes, but is confident they didn't do it. I asked who has been talking to my boyfriend the past two days and he has no idea. I have all my receipts to prove when my car has been serviced and I offered to provide them but he didn't take them. I ask to speak to the manager Robert Smith "Bobby" and he was unavailable. "Howard" continues with his unprofessional arrogant attitude and tells me it's something they didn't do. I don't know if it's because I'm a woman he felt it was ok to speak to me like this, but he continued. I asked for the manager to call me back today and as expected... today is 3/10/21 and Mr. Smith has yet to reach out. I have never dealt with such a deceitful, unorganized business in my entire life. They lack communication, have no problem taking advantage of others for profit and I will never go back. To be called a liar over a $110 tire and treated unfairly by a manager is totally uncalled for. I'm sure it was an accident and I understand things can happen. But from a customer service standpoint this is unethical and negligent from a company you are supposed to trust. Not only was I degraded but for the manager Robert Smith to not even call me back, just confirms that they think it's ok to mistreat customers, especially women. read more

We have used NTB back when it was called Merchant's... always had a good experience. That was not the case on 11/05/2020. My husband took his car in to have his tires replaced after he waited a whole week for the tires to be ordered and delivered. The car was dropped off and we left the establishment, only to receive a phone call from them a few minutes later asking for the security lug key. My husband returned and gave the key to the mechanic. We then left the establishment again. We got another phone call within 10 minutes and were told that the security key for the lug had broken and they are unable to get the lug off. We returned to NTB only to be greeted by Robert (BOB) Lineberry, the Service Manager, who handled the situation very unprofessionally. Instead of apologizing and offering to compensate for the damage, he started off by blaming the BMW mechanics who changed the car brakes because apparently the lug was torqued too tight. When we asked if anything was going to be done about them breaking the key he simply stated "NO because it was not our fault, it was the person who put the brakes on the car". This was very infuriating and triggered a heated argument between Bob and my husband. I asked Robert if I can speak to the Manager and he told me that he was one of them. I indicated that since he was not handling this situation appropriately, I asked him to please locate the other manager for me. He then introduced Bobby Smith, who is the store manager. Bobby addressed us and gave us an update on the current situation, again without an apology. We asked Bobby if they were at least going to compensate or try to rectify the situation regarding the broken security lug key. He told me "NO it was not our fault, you need to contact BMW and ask them why they torqued the lug so tight." (Mind you at this point they had already taken off the other 3 tires without issue). I was in disbelief that an establishment that we have trusted with our vehicle would not even take ownership of a situation that happened to my husband's car while it was in their possession. We then asked both Bobby and Robert if they could at least reimburse the cost of the key since it was broken in their shop, and the answer was "NO, it was not our fault". I was shocked that they continued to deny any fault and proceeded to blame the previous mechanics. I then questioned Bobby about why they would not do anything to at least defuse the situation, he then agreed to reimburse the cost of the security key with proof of purchase and accurate dollar amount. We seem to come to an agreement and I asked him for his business card as well as Robert Lineberry's card. Bobby gave both cards to me, then proceeded to say "once you get the key please leave and do not bring that car back here". I understand that every establishment has the right to refuse service to whomever they do not wish to conduct business with, but to have such unprofessionalism about it is just pure disrespect! It is DISRESPECTFUL to break/and or damage property entrusted to you and blatantly deny any wrongdoing. I am repulsed by the fact that they NOT only broke something, blamed someone else, and advised that we not return, BUT they did not even put the tires back on with all the hardware. My husband's car left their location with a BROKEN security lug key AND MISSING 3 lugs on one of his tires!!! Very DISAPPOINTED!!!! Definitely WILL NOT BE RETURNING OR TRUSTING THEM WITH MY CARS AGAIN!!! read more

These guys are complete scammers- avoid at all costs. I brought my car in a due a slow leak in one of my tires from a nail. They told me it was not repairable due to the nail being in the side wall. They also informed me my tires needed to be replaced anyway so I was in for 4 new tires. I went ahead and agreed for them to do the work and thankfully they weren't able to remove my tire locks due to my lug nut key not being in my vehicle. I went and picked my car up and brought it to my dealership to try and get a key to remove them. The tech at the dealer showed me where the nail was and it was not in the side wall whatsoever but instead in the main area of the tire. My dealer was able to repair the tire and stated that while yes my tread on my tires is getting low I still have time before I need to replace them. They completely lied to try and scam me into buying 4 new tires and I will NEVER return to another NTB again. read more

BEWARE!!! If I could give ZERO STARS I would. First off, it took them a week to order my tires. I went there to have 4 new tires put on my BMW and left with 3 less lugs and a broken security lug key and NO new tires. They stripped my security lug and tried blaming the mechanic that changed my brakes and said the lugs were over torqued. A Real MECHANIC knows how to use a torque wrench for security lugs and not an impact gun. After continued arguing with Robert Lineberry and Bobby Smith the "Managers" that stripped out the lug, they told me to take it to BMW and they will not be reimbursing me for damages they have caused to my vehicle. They kept blaming the Mechanic who put my brakes on and said they want nothing to do with the car. No Craftsmanship or pride in their work. Won't take any responsibility for their wrong doings and didn't offer to compensate for the damage that occurred while my vehicle was in their garage! I left before I blew my lid. Now I'm stuck trying to find a place that can take off this stripped security lug (at my own expense). Upon returning my key to my car I was told "Take your car and don't come back!!!"
