I personally have been going to Merideth (the owner) for just over a year now and she has over exceeded my expectations, my hair was extremely thick,wavy and completely out of frizzy control Merideth was able to tame my mane and I can't believe how manageable my hair is,it's now so very manageable and the color is amazing. I'd also had an extremely stressful day and she gave me a hot towel treatment followed by the best head massage I've ever had in my life...totally relaxing. However, I had a bad experience when it came to canceling my appointment I wasn't aware of their cancellation policy of $100 dollars!!! YIKES! I recommended 2 clients to this place and I think I have been a pretty good client! I wish they would have worked with me and honestly that sucks!!! I was not obligated to pay this cancellation fee AT ALL!!! However, I did because at the end of the day I didn't want to feel like a jerk. First of all...this salon is GORGEOUS! The decor is modern and stunning with personal details throughout. I was asked to wash my hands upon entry and I appreciate how clean this space is. It's 2022, and the COVID hair do had to GO. Before COVID, I had short hair for over a decade. During the pandemic, it became hard to maintain. I ended up going for an undercut and longer hair on top. Tried to stick with it for the past year. But the fact of the matter is just that I'm a short-hair person. I had lots of ideas for what direction to go into this time. I gave NuDu Salon another shot, thinking maybe they'd improve, but boy, was I wrong. The second time around was even worse than the first. I've never felt so disrespected and mistreated at a salon before. Seriously, the hair I ended up with could be a meme for salon disasters--it was that bad. I clearly explained my budget and even said I was cool with skipping some stuff to keep costs down. But did they listen? Nope. Instead, I left with hair as ashy as a haunted house, despite specifically asking for warm tones. And get this--I got charged for a blowout when my hair was still soaking wet. Like, what? When I went back to fix their mess, they had the nerve to slap me with an extra $100. And when I tried talking to the owner about it, hoping for some understanding, she gaslit me and then hung up. I even had proof of the situation including pictures and videos, but instead, she believed her employees' lies. Honestly, NuDu Salon is just a scam. They'll take your money and leave you looking like a mess. Save yourself the trouble and steer clear of this place. I wish I could give them 0 starts. read more

One for dying my hair purple. And another recently to make me a beautiful color melt blonde for a wedding. She's amazing and talented and worth going to. People are destination oriented. I am no different so I went back after a long wait to find a new salon in place of Shear Pleasure. Against my own better judgment I just took a chance with a hairdresser about whom I knew nothing, instead of depending on recommendations as I have always in the past. My hair is long & I ask for a haircut only since I never blow dry or use much heat on my hair but let it dry naturally. I was assigned Robert Rios, arrived after being asked to come a little later & showed him a photo of myself with the haircut I wanted, perhaps a couple of inches longer... but not much different, "Shoulder length layered bob," with some movement around my face. First red flag was he did not part off the hair but just sort of began cutting pieces off my wet hair, seemed to get lost in the cut. Did not appear to be using a system, rather just picking up & clipping hair, not establishing a guideline, sectioning, etc. and that was worrisome. I have learned also to give benefit of the doubt. When he began blow drying my hair when it was still quite long and stringy looking with some of the ends not even touched, I asked "if that was it?" He claimed he was going to go forth and "texturize it" but that was the end length. I told him that I had told the desk and mentioned a time or two that I always let my hair dry naturally and was not looking for a styling just a good shaping as I showed him. I did not wait around for that, paid him his fee which went up from $40-$50 in a nano second and left. epilogue: had to stop at grocery store & saw a woman with a great haircut, asked her where she went and I have a an appointment June 1! Lesson learned. Which is why I chose to write this review... I hope somebody else will post who has had a really positive experience with Robert - a very very sweet person, trying hard but not succeeding particularly at listening to what clients need or want. read more
